Pho Vietnam in Southampton

Fast service, good broth from the pho noodles, it was perfect portion for me , but then again I eat little and can get full fast , so the large bowl serving might be a bit less for others. Other than that , it was a really good experience. Can't wait to come back next time.

Pho Vietnam is an authentic restaurant serving freshly cooked, flavourful Vietnamese dishes. It's our favorite for food and service.

Used to be my favorite vietnamese restaurant for over 6 years. But the price has been going up and portion been going down a lot, even my 4 years old can finished a small bowl pho. They stop using lime, red chill or herbs like used to be, is time to look for the substitution.

We ordered two large pho and they where incredible. Really large, nice taste. We also ordered summer rolls and their flavor was truly a pleasure. Amazing staff. I definitely recommend this place.

Spring rolls are decent. Only 3 Meatballs in the pho but taste really good. Chicken is better than beef.

Had a meal here with friends, the food was outstanding. We had a selection of starters and they were all delicious. Main courses were large and delicious. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely return.

Enjoyed a lovely meal with a friend. While busy, it was a great place to chat and catch up without being too loud. Excellent, attentive and personal feeling service when needed. It's a cosy feeling restaurant and not too expensive. A lovely place to spend time in and they do a great jasmine tea!

These guys have the best pho I’ve ever had hands down, definitely more than worth a visit if you’re in the mood for some authentic Vietnamese food. The service honestly couldn’t be any better either, very personable and friendly. I’ve been coming here for years and I can’t recommend the food, service, or atmosphere of this place enough.

Me and my Dad have been coming here ever since I was very young, it is our favourite place to eat and we spend every birthday here. The food is so fresh and delicious and our plates are always spotless when we’re done eating. Amazing service and very friendly staff who ensure that we’re comfortable and happy with our food. Food arrives lovely and fast too.

Brilliant food, service, atmosphere...cant fault it. Booking was easy and we were greeted immediately at the door by a really friendly lady. We were offered drinks quickly, despite it being busy. The food was fabulous, tasty and ample portions. We will return

Such a shame I am leaving this terrible review as the chap serving was lovely and friendly. The food however, was just awful. The prawn toast had a stale taste, didn't taste any prawn so could have been eating anything for all I know and used the cheapest bread possible. The beef pho (3 small pieces of beef) was...well...absolutely tasteless. They obviously cook everything with no flavouring/spice or even salt. I'm baffled as to what I've just eaten. If you have no taste buds and are just looking to fill your tummy and feel textures in your mouth then go ahead and order but for me, this was the biggest waste of £8 I have ever spent. I came home and added my own fish sauce and light soy sauce to make it slightly edible. Definitely give this place a miss if you don't want to be dissatisfied.

Although it is not authentic Vietnamese Pho, but the taste is actually good.

Friendly, fast service. I ate a lovely sweet and sour rice dish that reminded me of Ramen. Absolutely delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her fried chicken, rice dish. Very reasonably priced too. 2 mains and 2 drinks came to only £24. Very happy. Will definitely return in the future.

Ordered chicken curry , received gravy with four small pieces of chicken more carrots than anything else, cost over £10 this is absolutely a total rip off , rang Pho Vietnam Portswood , who could care less. So don’t bother spending your money here . Appalling service !

Not fancy but delicious food, family run place and best pho and Vietnamese food around. Have now moved away but always try and visit when I’m in the area. The summer rolls are simply the best ever too.

I ordered Beef Pho with summer Rolls and both was fresh and good quality. The sauce for summer rolls was very tasty and the Pho soup was delicious as well. Service was very fast and staff was very polite. Food price was reasonable as well.

The food was great and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. My friends will certainly be coming back. HOWEVER, knowledge of gluten is non-existant. I made it clear when I ordered that i needed food made gluten free as I was a coeliac. When my summer rolls arrived I checked whether they were GF again and the server told me off for not stating I was a coeliac, leaving us all dumbfounded. I carried on with my meal presuming that GF was now sorted (spoiler: bad move) and about an hour after we paid up and left I had to bow out of the rest of my night and go home to be violently ill.

Located on Porstwood High St so parking is in the street or there is a public car park around the corner. First time I’ve been to a Vietnamese restaurant & will return. It wasn’t busy for a Friday evening. We asked for advice & recommendations on the menu & we went for a shared platter for starters, which was tasty. The main course was also delicious & it was washed down with wine & beer!

Great place lovely food friendly people

Food and service is just amazing. Cannot fault any of it. Always a treat for me since it's far out of the way from where I live, but worth the trip. Their ice team are very nice, and the Bùn Riêu is my absolute favorite (if only they included it in their uber menu!)

Oh My.. Consistency of the highest order… I turned up yet again for lunch after a long time and this place never fails to disappoint! Great staff and just as importantly great food! Keep up the great work!

We came to this nice, cozy place twice, and enjoyed the dishes both times. My favourite was a sweet and sour vegatbles + tofu rice based meal. Ideal for quiet conversations while eating as well.

For context this review refers to a delivery rather than restaurant. Food doesn’t taste bad at all, but I don’t think it’s suited to delivery as the Bahn Cuon rice rolls came unconstructed. This wouldn’t have been as issues except for where they had sweated during delivery they stuck together into an unsalvageable lump. Portion sizes were surprising too, with 4 quarters of prawn toast constituting an almost £7 starter, and the curry being no more than what I would consider a half portion. Overall really disappointing which is a shame as the food didn’t taste bad.

Had one bowl of the Chicken and Beef Pho. Was tasty so I order two partitions of their rice rolls to take home.

And once again visited this einde place with amazing food. This time with my best friend visiting from the Netherlands who had Phõ at various places before and loved it also! We had very tasty summer rolls, Phõ (ofcourse!) with extra meatballs and nice drinks (homemade lemon ice tea and iced ginger tea). Will be back as soon as possible! When we arrived (early) the restaurant was empty, but within 30 minutes it was completely full with guests from all over the world (Asia, Germany etc.). Perfect!

Pho Vietnam is a gem within portswood, a lasting reminder that a simple, quality menu, and tasteful interior decor is the ultimate formula to an enjoyable restaurant experience. We recommend a large chicken Pho for best value, have no doubt this will leave you satisfied- accessorise this with the lemon ice tea for the optimal meal. Alternatively, a range of sides (although slightly more expensive) allow for you to try a bit of everything. In summary, despite the loosely fixed outside door making way for a sobering winter breeze, Pho Vietnam is exemplar of the warmth that is the foundation of hospitality. Good, honest service and staple menu items mean the soul of Vietnamese cuisine is as accessible as it is delicious.

Yeah this place is great for a number of reasons. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxed and the food is very good. Also the price point is just right. The negative reviews here seem to be from people getting takeaway - I would definitely recommend eating their food fresh in the restaurant as this is how vietnamese street food should be eaten - hot out the kitchen. The pho is delicious and the summer rolls superb. The bao and fried chicken is excellent too. Overall a great restaurant at a very reasonable price and no other like it in Southampton.

What a fabulous and wonderful representation of Vietnamese foods in England. I don’t remember the foods I ordered but check photos. They were rather delicious. The staff was very helpful in suggesting dishes and rather professional and polite. I enjoyed my evening because the place is amazingly clean, affordable and portion sizes were okay. Although I wasn’t full on that rice and sweet potato thingy but it was tasty. Interior is beautiful and definitely recommended for your cosy and nice evening outside your house. Recommended.

Went in for dinner and came out feeling warm and satisfied. The prawn summer rolls were lovely especially with the peanut dipping sauce. Pho noodles in soup were delicious and just right, and tasted hearty and nutritious and not like a stock cube as mentioned in another review. It would have been nice to have the noodles served with some fresh herbs (e.g. perilla, coriander, basil..) as that would make the dishes more authentic but given the price they charge, maybe this is impractical and uneconomical as prices are fair. Service was friendly and efficient. We would definitely dine here again!

So travelling for work has been minimal due to covid… But after a very long time I was back at Pho Vietnam and they’ve done nothing but improve on top of an already existing brilliant eatery.. The Pho was fresh and flavoursome, plenty of meat as this time i went for beef and chicken and they added fresh chillies as requested… and on this occasion i tried the rice rolls as I had company.. oh wow. The team and the management are helpful and friendly! Great to see them all again.. Cant wait to return!

I would have preferred that they just call me and tell me they couldn't fulfil the order instead of taking my £9 and giving me chicken stock instead of pho.

We had an excellent chicken pho and stir-fried chicken, beef, seafood flat noodles. The portions are just the right size. The pho was refreshing and the flat noodles were very flavourful.

Love going to Pho on a regular basis, is one of our favourite independent restaurants. Fantastic food, very well priced and is great value for money. Staff are always great.

It would be ridiculous to not let people know about this venue, so here we go! Ridiculous to fault this place in the slightest. Called by yesterday afternoon and was chuffed with the service and food served. Ordered a chicken and beef dish and was top tier, proper grub! Very impressed with staff also. Friendly and helpful! Will definitely visit again.

Amazing pho soup. Worth to visit.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Service was 10/10 from start to finish, warm and accommodating staff and very authentic chef. We wanted something that would make us feel good and healthy so went for the prawn summer rolls and one beef pho and one chicken pho. We were so impressed with how fresh and tasty the broth was!! Small and cosy restaurant that is all about quality food. Love it.

Fantastic authentic food! The restaurant is never going to win any awards for décor, but if it's great tasting and even health food you're after, look no further! Even the takeaways are extremely tasty.

The food here is good, especially the wholesome burger. They used to do the satay chips which were the nicest extra they did but I don’t know why they would stop. Also they need to work on their front of house / customer service. Especially as there aren’t many vegan spots around here. They could be so much friendlier and welcoming.

Firstly, the tubs used for delivery are not fit for purpose. They’re not very sturdy and one of the tubs of broth leaked EVERYWHERE. That aside the food, which I’ve eaten in and picked up in the past, has gone fully downhill. What happened? £11.50...

Amazing food! Fantastic service!

If you think your going for the taste of Vietnam you will be left very disappointed. Had the fresh spring rolls for start that were dry and chewy. The slow cooked pork main was one of the most bland dishes I've eaten out. Very poor.

Beautiful lunch was in portswood to buy some fresh fish had walked from shirley for some exercise lol, it was worth the walk, excellent dumplings, summer rolls, and a beautiful noodle dish perfect,, then the walk back???? Nah got a cab lol
