Super place for a pint of Guinness friendly staff and always have a match on. Great place to watch the rugby.

We had a wonderful night at Philomena's. I'd forgotten how good the pub was and the service was fantastic. I haven't been in about 5 years and don't know why. They really 'get' food and drink service and there was a fantastic co-existance of irish rugby and (northern) irish football last night (12/10/24). Lovely evening great staff, great food, great beer, great service, great sports viwing and craic. #GAWA

Lovely bar, with friendly staff. With seating area outside, where we sat and had a drink, and a bite to eat, on a beautiful sunny day.

This is a great spot that the locals love. Delicious traditional pub food, great beer, and professional and friendly staff.

Popped in here on the way back to the hotel, ended up staying till closing time. Great selection of your fav tipples, trust me when I say, I sank enough to know. Delicious!! I will be back to see if it was a one off 😂

You guys absolutely smashed it tonight, the bar was buzzing . Thanks for making us extra vigilant about not having our mobile phones outside and sorting us out an outside table , you absolutely made our night . Maya is amazing and super attentive

A beautiful evening sat out on the pavement drinking with colleagues. Bar staff were very attentive and made sure our glasses weren't empty for too long.

Philomena's would do well to remember that it's a place for relaxation and socializing, not a platform for political activism. Until they reconsider their decor choices, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. *UPDATE 29/07/2024* Based on the owners response here is my response to you little brainless man Your response is quite something. I'm amazed at your ability to twist a simple review into an opportunity for a personal attack and political rant. It’s good to know that Philomena's is more interested in shoving its political agenda down customers' throats than providing a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. I didn’t come to your pub for a lecture on geopolitics because clearly you know nothing just as anticipated. Your condescending attitude and lack of professionalism are truly astounding. It’s clear that Philomena's isn't the place for anyone who doesn't share your exact worldview and SHAME ON YOU! On top of that, the food is tasteless and not worth the money. It seems that Philomena's can't even deliver on the basics of good hospitality and decent cuisine. Thank you for making it abundantly clear that this establishment isn't worth anyone's time or money. Food and staff was very nice with us , we buy drinks food all good a manager come outside we joke as friendly that he look amazing as Jesus , he come to us do u have problem in a rude way … why you want to ruin our night . You order food why not boss a in a rude way He go to the staff to tell us not to serve us , anyway we finish our meal We ware here before never expect someone coming ready for argue/fight Why because we have good time and he is not happy with your job . Place is amazing but this kind of management they need to be in hospitality

Very very friendly staff and nice atmosphere

Over from Ireland and thought an Irish sports pub would most certainly be showcasing the Springbok vs Ireland rugby match. Sadly, the management totally underestimated the supporter base with both SA and Irish fans flocking to the venue (clearly making the same assumption), only to find that the bulk of the screens, including the big screen was dedicated to the England versus Switzerland football match. The manager refused to put the Irish rugby game on two of the TVs despite all the patrons in that section watching the rugby and all the football supporters being on the other side of the pub. Pathetic service and inability to read the situation.

If you're looking for a Irish bar, look elsewhere. We went to watch an important Gaelic football match. Just as it was about to start they put on a Turkish soccer game. The home page of their website proudly claims it to be an Irish sports bar! Nonsense!

Claudio was wonderful, as a disabled person I worry steps will be out of reach or staff only but claudio walked me any time I got lost and was genuinely wonderful the whole time! As a person who grew up in England he made me homesick to small town vibes to how much he cared for my wellbeing he really made my night !

We went in on a Sunday when all the Gaelic games were on and Leeds United were in the play of final. I was pushing my brother in law in a wheelchair and one of the staff cleared the way for us and got us a table where we could watch the game and brought our drinks to the table. Excellent service.

Amazing experience tonight for the champions league final, staff went above and beyond to make sure we could watch the game from the outside and even took and delivered orders to outside tables, shame about the result but a great night had by all Dortmund fans in attendance

Music far too loud to hold a conversation, had to go outside with the smokers to hear someone talk

Pretty nice, with welcoming opening hours.

If you go on Sunday, we recommend you order "Sunday Roast". We ordered it with Fish&Chips and they were delicious. It's a nice environment to watch a football match, but it's very crowded. It's best to go early and find a place.

9 euros for an Irish coffee was fairly reasonable and worth the price. Lively atmosphere and good music.

We come there quite often, a great atmosphere for matches or events. Servers always very nice.

My regular after work. Cracking Guinness for the area. Amazing hospitality from the team. They have got me coming back

Everything was good till closing. They give you plastic glasses to finish your drink ,thats ok like everywhere. But guy with beard and long hair was angry and his answer "I don't want to waste glasses, you can finish drink inside " is telling me that their hospitality is on very low level. I spent more than £100 on beers and I can't have one plastic glass? The other guy was nice and kind but he could not help. I have been here with British people, I can imagine how they act with tourists. Not recomended for sure,there are places where are you treated like a guest.

A great pub near Covent Garden. It wasn't too crowded and staff were super friendly and attentive.

Generous with the gravy in the sausage and mash, it was deeelicious!! Although it's not on the menu, my girlfriend is vegetarian and for her they were happy to sub the pork sausages for the veggie ones they serve in the vegetarian full English breakfast

We were in on a Sunday night, they had the NFL on (and other sports) everyone was really friendly, attentive, and it was a great time. New fave pub!

We didn't have food, only drinks, but it's a very spacious and nice place. You can watch football and other sports both if you're sitting inside or outside because they have two TV's facing that way. Nice staff, not expensive and in a nice location, also very close to the metro which is not bad.

We called in for a pint, I handed back mine, there was a smell and a bitter tang off it, she put the same drink into a different glass, I sipped it again and said it was the same taste, she offered me a different beer, the one I chose was more expensive and she wanted the extra 50p, so I chose a different one, although my second pint was a little better, it wasn't much better, then another young bartender proceeded to 'DROP' bottles into a skip making a huge racket and anyone sitting in the area we were in looked around to see what was happening. We didn't finish our drinks at £16 for the two pints and left to go across the road to a much better and friendlier bar. Won't be back. So it seems Claudio wasn't at all happy with my review and wants me to eat McDonalds (yuck) and drink in other bars with my imaginary friends. Claudio in the school I attended, 20 minus 16 = 4, we gave 20 pounds to the barmaid for 2 drinks, so the pints we had DID cost 8 pounds each and whilst I don't expect pillows to be inserted in your recycling bins, bottles could definitely be placed rather than thrown in, and on a final note, if you spent as much time cleaning and maintaining your beer lines rather than trying to be a smartarse on social media, you could well have gotten a more positive review!!! ps. Still not coming back.😀

Ιρλανδέζικη pub με σχετικά καλό ωράριο λειτουργίας. Σε μικρή απόσταση βρίσκεται το Covent Garden που οι γύρω pub κλείνουν από τις 22:30 και 23:00. Παρόλο που ήπιαμε πολλά σφηνάκια, την επόμενη μέρα είμασταν μια χαρά.

This is one of the very few authentic Irish pubs in London. Irish owned. Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere to watch games. A large selection of beers and spirits but only a couple of wines. Opens 7 days a week in the heart of Covent Garden.

Watched Ireland play in Rugby World Cup whilst drinking many pints of Guinness. They won. The atmosphere was ELECTRIC!

Used to be a great spot. But the reason I gave it 2 stars is the Guinness, its nasty. Got a nasty metallic after taste, no dome at the top, none of the velvet creamy texture you expect and doesnt stick to the glass. Certainly not what you expect from an irish pub.

It's a fantastic pub, especially for watching sport, but the staff really make it - always so friendly, helpful and efficient. A cut above any other pub in central London!

One of the best places to watch sport in the heart of London! There are plenty of screens however if it's a big event it can be packed and hard to see. The food is quite tasty and really well priced for the centre of London. One negative is the toilets that are upstairs and rather small.

Just off Drury Lane. Nice location. Easily accessed from Holborn station. Great little pub close to Gillian Lynne theatre. The staff are very attentive and friendly.

This is my favourite london pub. Service is always spot on, the nibbles are always delicious and the table service is a lovely touch.

Reasonable pub serving quite generous portions of food which was good pub fayre. Good selection of beers although the Guinness was very average and soapy. The pub itself is quite dingy inside and the acoustics meant shouting to be heard in our group although it was still early on a weekday. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Plenty of space to sit outside on a sunny day. Lovely place.
