Honey & Spice Food Store in Camden

Absolutely amazing. I've had many of their salads and boxed as well as their baked goods, and everything is always delicious. I also love the items they stock in the store to buy such as the jams, spices, and date syrup. The employees are also always lovely. It's my go-to when in London.

Very pleased with my visit. How disappointing that when one reads of the best bakeries to visit in London, Honey & Spice barely ever makes it to the list. Well, their loss is my gain. I sampled the delightful buns (cardamom and chocolate along with the Fitzrovia). There is undeniably a current of high-practice baking here and appreciation of pairing ingredients to capitalise on flavour. Stellar Ingredients like pistachio and tahini along with spices like cardamom demonstrate what a little experimentation and knowledge can conjure up. The classic cheesecake has a spin, as does the babka. Nothing to me looks less than moist and all the colours scream to be chosen. It’s quite the place to be. Music was a little too pop bordering irritable for me but I wasn’t sat in long enough for it to produce much of an effect.

Not enough vegan options in sweet treats and everything was overpriced, the stuff I could have didn’t taste Middle Eastern and felt rushed out of the place/could sit there

The desserts are delicious here, I loved the coconut plum pistachio cake! However, I wasn’t impressed with the proportion of food in the vegan box. There was hardly any veggie stew, most of it was salad and wheat which was not worth £12. Please can you be more generous with your servings as we’re paying the price for a full meal here!

One of the best pita breads I’ve ever had and really good hummus. You can eat it in, seat down in their coffee area or outside. I always take it to go. They have few vegan options available

I had took take away from this shop at least 5 to 10 times as my office is close to them. Unfortunately today I went around 2pm, and I took my usual chicken box. On my surprise half of the box was filled with salad, the other half with cracked weath and 1 chicken tight . I was shocked but I was already in the office and I couldn’t go back to return the box, really bland , and yes I was really disappointed. I think there is a new manager there , everyone seems scared of her there, and she doesn’t even greet you when you are in front of her. 🥲

Popped here as I was walking past. Everything looks great but that's only until you taste it! The box meal was so bland and it just tasted as if it was sitting there for a long time until it was sold to me. Don't waster your shekels here 🧐

I just bought a vegan box to take away (£12) with a delicious squash and chickpea stew. The box was a good size, however at least half of the box was filled with bland leaves I could have bought in the supermarket, a few mouthfuls of stew and the rest cracked wheat. More stew, less leaves to fill the rest of the box! Terrible value for money, but I guess that’s the norm these days.

I wast mistreated by the staff because I was with no a good clothes . And the lady was impolite with me it’s need to be reviewed you cannot give all the power to the staff they think that they are God .

Came here after seeing a couple promotional posts on Instagram. It was a Wednesday afternoon when I visited and it was absolutely empty with only one table outside being occupied. They had a lot of baked goods in stock still and it's got a great variety. I went with the strawberry and rose cheesecake, blueberry, hazelnut and ricotta cake and the fitzrovia bun to take away. Out of the 3 I liked the cheesecake the most, it's got a nice rose flavour to it which wasn't too strong that I couldn't take it and the biscuit base had a bit of coconut which made it surprisingly lovely to eat and this is coming from someone who doesn't even coconut at all in her desserts! The ricotta cake was then second. I loved the texture coming from the hazelnut and the cake was soft and fluffy presumably because of the ricotta and blueberries made it refreshing to eat. It's also not too sweet which would go perfect with a coffee. The fitzrovia bun was the least favourite of all as it didn't really offer much of a flavour of anything to me personally. It's got some pistachio and cherry (I think?) but there's not really a strong taste of anything sweet in the bun. The dough itself was okay, soft and kind of fluffy but I just wasn't sure what I was supposed to be tasting. Prices were reasonable I suppose considering it's in central London. The service was good too. It's a nice store/ cafe with grocery items and you can even get some homemade hummus and pita bread to go and have them at Regents Park as a picnic on a sunny day. They also have outdoor seats so it's quite a spacious place.

Lovely small deli / cafe. Gorgeous pastries, sandwiches, quiches, flatbreads etc.. Wide selection of teas including one with fennel. A few seats inside and some outside for a lovely day.

I went there for lunch with a colleague as it is near work. I ordered chicken box, which tastes good. Much better value than some bento box nearby. However to dine in on the most uncomfortable chairs for £14.5, I just cant justify that.

I would like to complain about the disorganisation of the staff. I arrived at 11:45 - it was quiet, I ordered a Standard vegan box ahead of two other customers. The staff just forgot about my order I ended up having to ask for it after the two other customers got served and I was the only customer standing there in the shop. It made me uncomfortable to ask for things. It was a frustrating experience for such a simple order.

What a treat! I had a delicious plum, coconut, and pistachio cake that was incredible. The staff lady was extremely friendly. The store was quite quaint. A great experience all around.

Love to pop in for a takeaway when I'm in the area. Today's vegan box was a delight; the veg koftas and green sauce were delicious as were the slaw and chickpea salad. The veg box certainly brightened my lunch and dinner today. And the super tasty preserved lemon and tahini cookies were meant for sharing. 5*

Stumbled in this place by chance and ended up coming here 3 times (in 4 days). Pastries are to die for. I read that their lunchboxes are small but I did not try them. They also wrote some recipe books and sell them in the store. Plus they sell jams etc.

They go above and beyond to ensure that my experience at the deli shop is tailored to my well-being. Their empathy and genuine concern make me feel seen and supported during this difficult time.

The best shop for spices and store cupboard essentials. They make the best Hamentaschen and rose flavoured things.

Omg I'm a fussy eater but the name Drew me in whilst looking around I was shocked the lady recommended a famous mustard cabbage I had this, potatoes and chicken it was absolutely delicious coffee and a cake to polish it off I wish I made deliveries in this road every day I would definitely recommend

Hand down the best babka I've ever had.

Popped in Good Friday for a coffee. Beautiful sunshine so sat outside in the streamers area & shared a delicious almond cake with rhubarb. Itmar and a colleague were "quality controlling" a new guey chocolatey babka type bread on an adjacent table and kindly gave us a huge slice to share. We had a lovely chat whilst licking our fingers & the plate! We ended up, no surprise discussing how he makes the best roast potatoes EVER at the Honey & Smoke restaurant around the corner but were too full on cake and high on coffee to consider an early lunch! Feeling like family & dreaming of roasties! 🥰🤣😘. Thank you.

Food was too salty for me. Staff unhelpful and ignorant. Tried to understand the menu and they were looking at me like 'wahat you're not understanding' everything is written. So I ordered chicken with seads on site - appeared very small portion and seads were sprinkled over the chicken (small spoon) not on side. So I didn't have anything on side. I've asked for bulgar and had to pay extra...

One of my favourite lunch places! Food tastes amazing, ingredients are fresh and the box is not bulked up with half a box of rice as in so many other places. I agree many places might have cheaper lunches but the variety and diversity of ingredients is in my opinion worth the price. It would take me at least 3 hours to make similar two salads and main from scratch and I really appreciate that such a tasty and healthy lunch option exists.

Second time I give it a try the main course is full of greasy oil and the lamb stew with aubergine was just greasy baked potatoes mince lamb no aubergine at all. Super disappointed

Beautiful food and wonderful service from the team that run Honey and Smoke restaurant. Some great finds for gifts or to treat yourself! The sumac cookies are divine and I got some lovely thyme honey last time I visited. A stone's throw from Euston Road, well worth the trip :)

Absolutely lovely meals and pastries with a nice shop as well. Although the food there is pretty expensive, it is undeniably delicious! All of the “box” meals bare beautifully prepared and every component is lovely. The pastries and desserts are also absolutely brilliant- I highly recommend the babka!. Finally, the service is very efficient and the staff are extremely friendly. I have just one bad thing to say about this place though: please stop giving out plastic cutlery!

Bought the chocolate and tahini brownie today. Zero taste of chocolate and zero sweetness. Tasted like bitter sesame seeds. I took two bites and had to throw it away. £5.00 down the drain. People actually want to eat this stuff? Shocking. Girl on the counter also didn't have a clue about what ingredients are used in the cakes.

Came here on a desperate craving for babka and kugels. Found babka but there were so many different specific foods available that I forgot to ask about kugels - did find pistachio halva tho! Admittedly balked a bit at the price but it was worth it because the babka was so beautiful it was a revelation ❤️ and it was a generous serving in fairness.

Absolute ripoff, the size of the meal is way to small for £11.50 considering the ingredients of the lunch boxes are all very cheap and only a tiny peace of chicken was in my box, cakes £6-£8 for pure sugar..... FIRST AND LAST TIME AT THE STORE!

The taste of the food is excellent, the value for money can be extremely poor. I have been a customer for over many years and regularly i complain that the chicken at times can be a very tiny piece and poor value for money... but I still get tiny pieces of chicken absolutely not enough when you are paying £11.50 for coleslaw, beetroot and a piece of chicken. I literally had one fork of this one after pulling off the skin and there was nothing under it, I have visited over 40 times and at least on 10 occasions I found that I did not get enough value for what I paid. Apologies for the official feedback, but over many times I have tried to conveyed this message in person and I hope it gets heard now

Great deli style shop with a changing counter of baked goods & lunch to go. Best in the summer when you can sit in the sun outside or take to Regents Park. It’s a more expensive option for lunch but by far the best option locally for tasty, interesting, fresh & healthy food.

Their pistachio chelsea buns are absolutely delicious- very talented and creative bakers.

OMG. Let me start with this statement. I know pastries. I wasn’t really ready for heaven on the day I visited Honey and Spice but I just died and went there. It all started with their Fitzrovia bun. If I had more time I would go on for half a page about the glories of this heavenly victual but I don’t

Fabulous arrangement of pastries. The breadsticks and cheese phylos were wonderful, but the pumpkin cheesecake with the nutty crust was inspired. We were too early for lunch, but I'd highly recommend giving it a shot

Difficult to not get pulled off the street into such a great shop. The Frangipan was excellent.

This isn't a deli or a grocery store, it's a salad bar for office workers. Even given that, what you get is a weird mixture of old salads, that shouldn't go together, smashed into a box together (watermelon, mint and humous). It wasn't fresh at all. Thinking about it, this "salad" was just a bunch of room temperature pickles tipped out onto a tray. Not really what I was expecting from a middle eastern deli and extremely bland. I was hoping for sweets if I'm honest, the cakes looked bad too though. I had the chicken tagine along with it, room temperature and stodgy. The spanakopita was just bad too. I think Alex Hadid's comment nailed the vibe.

Fake and pushy, won't let you decide in peace. Ended up with a salad box, under duress. To start with the 3 "salads" were mismatched and clashed and uniquely awful. Watery pickled beetroot and insipid lentils were sat uncomfortably alongside a combination of watermelon, mint and tesco's value feta. The Spanakopita resembled something from a college cafeteria, with a vaguely sulfurous aftertaste that was concerning when repeating on me hours later. Also this isn't a deli or a food store... It's a salad bar and not a very good one.

Honey and Spice is a small and cozy store where you can find everything you need to start your day, good coffee, delicious cakes and fresh fruit, all that with a great smile team.

This place is pretty good but could be a lot better. The food is delicious but the menu doesn't vary much. There's basically a choice of two mains and some great sides but it gets boring quite quickly. could do with maybe a couple more options. I find the lady who runs the place very surly at times and that makes for not a very welcoming experience. That and the lack of variety is what makes this a three star review and not 4-5 stars which would be easily achievable with a couple of changes in my opinion.

I'm a regular. The lunch box has gone up in price but remains value for money. The food is refreshingly good, you won't find anything as tasty or healthy nearby. There is always a tempting selection of cakes and pastries. The sorbets on offer at the moment are A MUST TRY.

A stealth Jewish bakery, and a really good one. The only place in Central London I could find Hamantashen on Purim, though it was costly—over two pounds per hamantaschen! Their challah and babkas and rugellach are also all excellent, though also pricey. I just wish I had to do a little less internet sleuthing to figure out this was the place to go.

Flat access from the street. Enough space inside to manoeuvre, look at the shop and reach the counter which is not too high. Really nice staff who moved chairs for me. There are 3 accessible tables right outside (no eating inside) and three that I couldn't reach due to a curb, but its quite low so some wheelchair users could. Rare gluten free treat - from my wheelchair I could see all the food on the counter and chose the best gluten free cake I've ever eaten. The Frangipane, pistachio & blood orange tart was amazing. Decaf roast really good too (possibly a Climpsons). 100% will visit again.

If you like Mediterranean cuisine then this is the go to shop, they have a good range of food to go , spices snacks, cakes and even utilities. Try many things from this place and they were all delicious specially the savoury options. I would advise trying hummus, labneh and sesame bread sticks. From the sweet option the chocolate babka stand out.

We had the takeaway dinner tonight (pea fritters meal), with extras (hummus & pita , white peach salad, dessert). Absolutely wonderful food! If you’re looking for a special meal in lockdown, you’re at the right place.
