I visited the cafe with a friend, I found one of the staff to be very rude and the food was average I am surprised the rating is so high on trip advisors. Many other cafes in York and the surrounding areas providing far better quality produce and service.

Just called in for a few snacks to take back down south. The cafe was full which is nice to see. Always a good sign of good quality food when it’s nice and full. Greeted by the chef which is a rare occasion as he’s normally cooking and too busy to talk. Sausage rolls and scotch eggs were banging. oh and the Chinese chicken sandwich which was that full is half all over the van floor. Keeping doing what you keep doing team Phil ya boots

Excellent breakfast this morning at Phill Ya Boots cafe,decided to try here as it’s hard to find places these days that can cook a decent breakfast,and they can !.We had full breakfast and it was perfect,everything tasted amazing.Owners great too very friendly and welcoming .Highly recommend a visit.

Called in for a freshly made quiche, really friendly staff, Vicky and Phil always make you feel welcome, quiche was define. would highly recommend. First class service and first class fresh quality meals, cakes, too much to choose from, range of coffees, all look delicious. Also the home made jams, chutneys, marmalades are also very nice. X

I recently stumbled upon Philyaboots Cafe, and I must say, it's a hidden gem that I almost hesitate to share. The atmosphere is charming, and the food is simply divine. During my Sunday morning visit, I indulged in their eggs Benedict, and each bite was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. I can't sing their praises enough, but then again, maybe I should keep this secret to myself to ensure I always have a spot!

Fantastic breakfast at Phil ya boots this morning. We were visiting York and wanted a breakfast before heading home and this was great. The breakfast was amazing, the service was very friendly and we loved the style of the cafe. One to remember and visit!

Lovely breakfast and great gluten free options. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Couldn’t fault it. We also came away with cakes for later. A good choice for gluten free cakes too, not just the usual brownies, which was a lovely surprise.

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. The steak pie and hand cooked chips was excellent probably the best I've tasted. My wife had warm quiche and salad...delicious. No room for cake, so took some home for later, they looked too good to refuse. A great experience all round.

Enjoyed a fantastic breakfast with our family from the USA, staff were very friendly and the various meals all arrived at the same time and quality and quantity excellent and the home made quiche was delicious .The facilities are clean and tidy with a nice comfy seating.

Vicky, Phil and staff do a fantastic job of making you feel welcome. Food is amazing and all the items on the menu are so tempting it always takes me ages to pick. Whatever you decide to have I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! Full English, posh fish finger sarnie or homemade cheeseburger are a few I can thoroughly recommend and the chips are delicious!

Sunday brunch with family was delicious. Very friendly staff and quick service. Will definitely return if in the area in future.

A really cosy oasis in Woodthorpe that's obviously popular with locals. The menu covers everything from traditional breakfasts through pie and chips to cheeseburgers, but you'd be daft not to try some of the other options. I had the smashed avacado with poached eggs and chorizo, the eggs were perfectly poached and the whole thing tasted fabulous. Service was friendly and efficient and we bought a good-sized slice of pork and cranbery suasage roll to take away, which my eldest boy reports as being excellent! Well worth a visit.

I come to Phill ya Boots regularly, and the food and service is always great. A Previous commenter mentioned a low quality tea cake experience. I must say that this is the complete opposite to my experience of the sensational raisin rich baps. I have never experienced such a fluffy and perfectly toasted bun in my life. It's become a weekly treat with my husband. During the summer we sit outside with our dog. The food is always good quality, abundant and served with a dash of love.

We come every week and the consistency of the food and coffee is incredible. The menu is always changing and has a great range, but I almost always end up having a English breakfast. The halloumi breakfast sandwich is a close second. Well worth a visit if you are in the area!
