Pewsey chinese takeaway in Wiltshire

Last night we ordered and collected 3 cod and chips along with a pie and some sides. All 3 pieces of Cod were the same size and exactly the same shape ( not Cod shape more like plaice ) the batter was like bread. It screamed Tesco frozen value. Inside the fish was dry and brown, no flavour and was very hard to cut without it flying off the plate. The pie was disgusting the inside looked like it had already been eaten once. The mushy pies had absolutely no taste what so ever and the curry sauce was so full of salt it went straight in the bin alone with the other £30 worth of food.

Fish and chips were average at best and quite expensive. I am almost certain that the fish is bought frozen, already battered and then fried, which is just lazy, making it not so fresh. The fish was thin and full of batter and did not have that fresh taste to it. Why do you only accept cash????? We will not be using again.

We haven’t lived in the area for long but we got on our first visit fish and chips we were a bit apprehensive to what they were going to taste like, to our surprise they were delicious, when we went back a few weeks later we had Chinese takeaway which was very nice to and we shall be going there on a regular basis.

We do often get a takeaway from here, not having many options in the village. This is a reliable restaurant for chinese food with a good range of options. The fish and chips is average, but again perfectly edible, reliable, and occasionally very good. Worth a visit if in the area, and wanting take out.

Well cooked high quality pie and chips at a good priced served hot and promptly by friendly staff, can highly recommend

I'm not a fan of chinese food anyway, so I just had some chips, they were pretty good, a splash of ketchup and what's not to like

Like many village takeaways, they offer other foods like burgers or fish and chips, but their core business is the best. They offer a wide range of foods from crispy duck to Thai green curry - my husbands favourite! The set meals are a good size, and they say to let them know if you have allergies, so cater for that to an extent too. Love their Hong Kong style sweet and sour, and their prawn crackers are always nice and fresh.

used this twice, visits a month or so apart both times for Chinese takeaway food. i was hoping first visit was a poor evening. second was no better. Food was on time, prices are average. But the quality ( and the portions aren't large) is very below par -reminded me of chinese takeaways of 25 years ago All sauces seemed very sticky and pretty tasteless. shame because we could be regular customers, will wait until see things have changed.

Convenient food stop in a small town. It's cheap and portions are good for groups. There are very few food choice in this part of Wiltshire and we're so glad there's Chinese foor.

Have been living in Pewsey for 15 years and often used the take-away. However, the food there is now totally tasteless. I normally ordered beef curry plus other meals but the curry started tasting exceedingly bland recently. Therefore last time I ordered chicken Szechuan as it is meant to be hot and spicey. Again it was completely bland to the point you could not tell what it was. Awful, will not use again until I hear there has been a change of ownership.

Below average food but that wasn't surprising as we recognised the staff from another below standard take away, I was reminded of the quality issues in the early hours of the following morning! Avoid if you have a sensitive stomach.

Pot luck Google when working the area. Good find :) Great fresh food, just when we needed it. Will use again if in the area.
