Petite Delice in Gateshead

Found this lovely little café after a shopping trip with my mother. I was welcomed by a lovely lady called Anna who was very friendly and accommodating. My mother has a very limited diet, but that was not a problem as Anna suggested some fabulous options. My mother settled on a Roast Vegetable omelette and I had a Tuna Melt. They both came with chips and salad. Everything came piping hot and tasted amazing. We will definitely be back next time we are up.

Food was barely edible and hot chocolate was like powder. Would not eat here again

Bacon baguette only 2 very thin slices of bacon and sausage baguette 2 cheap quality sausages really not worth the price of £5.95 EACH .

The sausage baguette had 3 poor quality sausages in a crusty baguette. This was dry and not very tasty. Priced at £5.95 this was terrible value for money. Definitely my first and last vist to Petite Delice in the Metrocentre. I would not recommend this to anyone.

First visit here and was really looking forward to it ..and it will be my last visit unfortunately ...the lentil soup was absolutely disgusting. Tasted powdery and thin consistency with no flavour at all.. couldn't eat it. Complete waste of money. The cappuccino didn't even taste like coffee. My partner said the Croque Monsieur was very nice though.

Tried to go for lunch here with our 1 year old, we sat inside initially however there was a very loud coffee machine/fan making a constant loud noise. We hoped it would stop or be intermittent. We moved to sit in the outer area instead. The waiter came to take the order & turned us down for the 3-4 options we asked for from the small menu, as they had no tuna, no cheese, no panini's.. it became awkward so tried to asked what they actually DID have and he stood in silence. Seemingly finding it amusing?Pretty unhelpful in our view, we would not go back or recommend.

Great little cafe. Very nice breakfast at a reasonable price. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. I will be back.

Lovely little cafe, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Food is top quality and served at a high standard. Definitely worth a visit.

All day breakfast is good value. Jacket potatoes are a bit small. Service is prompt. Seating a bit cramped.

Disgusting heard owner speaking to his staff terrible wouldn't speak to my dog like that avoid like the plague.

I go twice a week all day breky extremely nice staff Sam is great two girls as well owner might treat u to a free drink he will correct redo and bad cooking my paintings hang on wall a present to them for an excellent priced meal table service 😉 😜 happy place

Stopped here for some lunch with my family. First time here and I'll definitely be back 👌 Server was a young lad who was brilliant, friendly, attentive and generally lovely. We all got an all day breakfast with tea then cake afterwards, food was lovely, tea was nice and hot and overall we were all very pleased. Makes a change from the more busier and crowded eateries in the Metro Centre, I'll definitely be back and would absolutely recommend 👌👌

Not bad, popped in for a breakfast and had Beans on Toast. The toast was not buttered which was a shame, aside from that decent quick breakfast.

Good coffee, staff very friendly, nice place to sit down in the metro centre.

We had 2 full breakfasts .spot on and lattes great 10 10.for all food and service.

Excellent food and reasonably priced, friendly staff too.

Coffee and croissants deal is both a great price and very tasty/good quality. Staff were friendly too.

I thought i would treat my daughter to a treat, well if I had wanted costco cakes I would have bloody well gone to costco.

Dined in earlier on this week with 4 other family members. Portion sizes for a jacket potato with corned beef and onion was dry and was tiny could have been served to a child with a measly side salad priced at around £5-£6 I don’t know the price exactly as I wasn’t given a receipt. My daughters adult sized quiche was tiny too again cold in the middle and boiling hot round the edges, with a measly side salad and a few random tortilla chips. This too was priced around £5-£6 mark The scones were decent sized and tasted nice but had to wait 10 mins for the jam we ordered when placing the order which when it came was a portion of one tiny bowl for three scones and by the time they had waited for it coming they had all ate half of their scone each so was pointless. The waiter who served us made us feel like we were a bother to him that day. Unfriendly, didn’t smile once or thank us for our custom or ask if everything was okay with our order. We just didn’t like his attitude at all. A few of us ordered soft drinks which had came from a can in the fridge next to the entrance these had been poured into a glass before coming to the table with no ice and a £2.60ish price tag too which I find to be extortionate. We thought by coming here it would be helping a small business in this economy especially given the amount of food restaurants in metrocentre we could have chosen instead…. but we won’t be returning again. We didn’t think the £30.40 price tag reflected in the food we were served or service we received. Disappointing as years ago it was bustling cafe which used to do very well.

We ordered soup and it tasted like a packet mix not nice at all

I work in the metrocentre and get a 30 minute break so in needed take away. Staff were nice and friendly and accomidating to this. They prepared for me a napolitana Sandwich which was nice and speedy, I believe it only took 10-15 mins which is quite quick considering they had a lunch rush for the tables. The sandwich was good enough, maybe it could have done with a little more tomato sauce, they were kind enough to put some side salad and tortilla chips into the mix which was a lovely addition, ya boi needs his greens. Often stop here when having a wander around the Metro Centre, and never been disappointed yet. Food is good and the staff are the best - really friendly. Would highly recommend.

Staff were friendly but the actual food was terrible latte and hot chocolate and instead of a toasted t cake was given a tiny hot cross bun my daughter had fudge cake which was stale place itself was very clean but food not good at all and quite expensive

Had a bacon baguette, expecting to get a decent amount of bacon for the £5.70 price tag attatched. Instead half a baguette turned up with 2 tiny slices of bacon in it. Absolutely ridiculous

Website says Sunday opening at 9.30am but when we got there at 9.40am it was not open....there was a staff member there who told my son it was opening at 10am so we decided to sit outside and wait as it wasn't that long however by 10.15am it STILL wasn't open and the staff ignored the five of us patiently waiting so we went and found something else instead as my son and daughter in law needed to be back on the road for their journey home.....never again will I go in there....being ignored and false information on website is not a good way to keep business

Lovely little cafe with friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Service is quick and the food is lovely. A great spot for a quick bite with the family.

Orded a ham, cheese and tomato panini. It had bits of ham that probably only amount to half a slice of ham and one piece of soggy tomato The mrs had a corn beef and onion toastie the corn beef was sliced that thin it was almost see though and then the onion was basically just the skin …terrible food especially for £16 Never again

Shott staffed so service was a bit slow but told in advance so not a problem lovely food well presented

An Absolute disgrace, I ordered a baguette with supposedly a frankfurter sausage with mustard and cheese, £5.90 I paid, I expected a full frankfurter sausage for that price, what did I end up with,, basically a cheese and mustard baguette, good god he couldn’t have sliced the sausage any damn thinner, a total rip off and I would have had very strong words had it it not been for my partner asking me not to complain or say anything. I went inside to pay the bill and he said “ oh that was quick” I replied , “ that’s because there was hardly any frankfurter in it,,,, he said nothing,, I won’t be back.

Disappointed with today's visit. Assistant not friendly. Tea in pot wasn't as hot as it could or should have been. Fruit scones crumbled when cut in half making it impossible to spread the ONE small portion of butter which was hard. Jam portion for two was more like a portion for one. The assistant was surly when we requested more butter & a pot of hot water. The bacon baguette was the one saving grace. It's a lovely setting which we've visited a few times previously but will give it a miss next time.

Wow. A very big lovely chocolate muffin and an americano coffee. £3.90. Great value, lovely staff. They do savory and sweet things. I will be back.

Stopped in for a quick cup of coffee and a cup of tea. Got a piece of shortbread too. Tea was nice and the coffee tasted great. Service was spot on and the place was relaxing and clean. Would go back. Recommended.

Excellent friendly service with Delicious food 😋

Used to be brilliant customer service and food is good. I had all day breakfast, which I'm always wary of when it comes to the fried egg. The egg was perfect. Soft yolk but solid white LUSH. Update. Went today and I'd say be very specific when ordering. I asked for a water and I got given tap water for £0.95! I then explained my bf wanted bottled water and he said "i heard him say tap" certainly did not. Then I asked if the Mokka Delice had coffee in - as it should - and I was told yes. The menu states it's made with Double espresso and chocolate syrup. It definitely did not. It was a hot chocolate made with powder. I know this as the powder was still clumped at the bottom.

Pleasant Spot to stop for refreshments, Baguette’s were very nice, A pity one of the cups was stained but staff quickly changed it without problems. Would go again
