I grew up in this shop.! It belonged to my grandad Pete Michael. A Cypriot legend!!!!! Only fish and chips back then. Proper food and tasty

the staff is okay, food also a bit salty. but for that price, I am okay with it.

Very poor lamb duner, is 8.50 £ on menu but they charge 8.80£ :) , and duner is box of chips with a bit lamb on top.... so chips with cetcup...8, 80 £ never again

Disappointing!! - food arrived hot and smelt inviting!! - but was not fresh!! - no crisp to the batter on either fish or sausage!! - chips were old. The flavour of the fish was very good would have awesome!! - such a shame!!!

Ask shop to put onion vinegar on my chips and every time either nothing or malt sachets. Not asking for much!

The staff were nice and friendly. My food was cooked freshly on the spot. The fish was DELICIOUS! very crispy batter and flaky, juicy flesh. The chips were not cooked enough, pale and hard. Considering that was half of the meal, I was disappointed.

I don’t understand how some people can give good reviews when the food is actually terrible. The cooking is inconsistent - the chicken is too salty and the chips are overcooked and crispy, probably due to the oil not being changed regularly. Almost all the food is bad. They really need to improve.

Absolutely shocking service after spending £20 on food I was asked to pay for ketchup and mayonnaise which was a extra £1.00 staff were not friendly rats and mice all over the place I guess you live and learn I would not be visiting this place again 🤢🤢

Just didn't taste freshly made (again).Chips were dry and two small pieces of fish instead of one large piece which also had dry spongey batter. This establishment has let the quality of it's food slip.

Errrgh. Went there at 13:30 expecting lunch time prepped fresh food.....the salad was limp like it was yesterdays.....the chips were inconsistent - some crunchy some floppy and a few well undercooked......the Donner meat was not flame grilled.....it wasn't busy and there was no excuse for that. A few other minor issues but you get the picture. Feb 2024 Edit: 👆🏽this was 6 years ago. Popped back in a couple of months back and seems they learnt from the reviews - at least on that occasion. Heading out there now & I'll try it a few more times before changing the score but good for them

I don’t usually leave a review but I thought I would on this occasion. So first of all I was told no mince beef pies then I order 2 plain sausage and one battered sausage but only received one plain sausage. I must also comment that every box of chips 4 boxes at least half of each box had black patched chips non edible so we had to throw probably amounts to 2 boxes. I paid over £30 for this and I’m sorry but as a pensioner I regretted it. I was so disappointed as I had surprised visitors

Order was cold they didn't send what I paid for won't be using them again did phone them but unhelpful delivery guy said he was waiting at restaurant and that it was their fault , when I watched him drive past my street to deliver 6 other stops ..

I ordered large codes and the size was not large. It is not worth spending the money. Large chips portion size is gone down. I will not order next time.

The driver could not find my address. He could not speak English and he never apologise for being late. The chicken was not breast and it did not taste nice. It was to fatty and greasy. There is no parson's nose on the breast. It was not jot I had to heat it up in the microwave. Utterly disappointing not worth the money. Better to go into the shop than order on line.

Ordered food on Just Eat and it never arrived, even though the app said it was delivered. Rang the restaurant and the person said the delivery had nothing to do with him. Said once he gave the driver the food he had done his part of the contract. Asked him if he could contact the driver but he said he hadn't his number. He can contact the driver when there's a delivery to be made, but not when there's a problem. Nonchalant behaviour and very unprofessional attitude. First and last time I use this restaurant. Thankfully Just Eat issued me with a refund.

App said food was delivered 10 minutes ago, and I'm still waiting. Rang restaurant, and owner said he lived up to his part of the contract by handing for food to the driver. Then he said food was left on the counter and that the driver left without it. Never ever using this restaurant again!

Ordered via Uber eats this afternoon. Chips were poor and oily. But better still didn't even receive two portions I ordered at £3.75 each. Too top that off I being a vegetarian ordered a Spicy bean burger to my shock and horror received something which clearly wasn't a bean burger. (Photo attached). I complained to Uber eats straight away, then rang the shop to ask what had happened. To be spoken to by a very rude gentleman on the other end. Who said sorry we have ran out of Bean Burgers but I sent you a replacement. He also mentions he tried to call me which I don't believe as I never had any calls. So instead of a vegetarian ordering a bean burger he had decided upon himself that I might fancy a spicy chicken burger. I argued for ages to no avail as he didn't understand a word I was saying. To then be rudely hung up on. This place has no form of customer service, can't get a simple order right. Run out of items and decide upon them selves to replace with meat products. Place shouldn't be open. Other colleagues said the chips were poor. Dripping of grease. Honestly save your money and go elsewhere.

Had to wait nearly two hours. Phoned restaurant to see why it was taking so long, was told they don't care. Food was cold snd soggy chips and salad not fresh.

The food was unseasoned. Curry sauce was not good at all. Battered sausage nice, and I liked the fresh fish, but didn’t taste of anything. No salt at all even on the chips.

Food is good. Best chippie in the area. Portion sizes are sometimes smaller than I think they should be in a large portion, especially the chips.

The driver left the shop and travelled totally in the wrong direction. I called the shop and had to reorder from them and pay again. The store very kindly delivered in about eight minutes and the food was, as always, delicious. The driver finally arrived with my original order over half an hour after leaving the store. I had by the eaten my second order so told him tho take it back to the store and I would be seeking a refund. I must stress this was completely the drivers fault. The store were very prompt in sending me a second order of food, whuch I had to pay for again, but I cannot praise them more highly.

Ordered takeaway last night for dinner, food was fantastic I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. The quality of the food is a bit more than what you'd expect from a local fish bar. You could tell it's a fish bar that carry out their responsibilities such as changing their cooking oil on a regular, believe me when I say their are fish bars that rarely do change their cooking oil and you could tell the difference because the taste in the food is night and day, you could tell when foods been cooked in old and dirty oil, the food tastes a bit more burned and the colouring comes out a bit more of a burgundy colour. The chips were crispy and soft, the sort of chips you can dip into some mushy peas, curry sauce or gravy on a winter's night. The texture of their mushy peas was fantastic, not too runny and had a soft crunch to it. Their battered sausage is the same as any other fish bar but I guess the customers could season it with salt and pepper themselves due to everyone's taste differing a little. The only thing I could say about their establishment is their online presence, looking at their pictures it gives the feel of where Alan Sugar would send the losing team on the show the apprentice but the food produced from this fish bar is far from it. The owner could probably spend £50 - £100 to get a professional photographer for a few hours to come and take some proper pictures to help out their online presence. If this review was about their pictures of the establishment then I'd give it a 2 star out of 5, an extra star from a 1 star for actually trying however it's based on their food so 5/5. I think the bad reviews is because the people reviewing didn't grow up on local fish and chips or local fast food places, and are more suited to uptown food that serves French/American fries with their fish and chips.
