Pesto at the White Horse in Hinckley and Bosworth

Lovely food, good service. Would recommend the Crodino which is like a non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz.

A little noisy when full, but the food is stunning.

Food was disappointing. All of the family had dry food. Rack of ribs had flavour but literally dry as a bone. Chicken skewers, was just dry chicken on a stick. Roasted vegetables missed depth of flavour, all abit samey and would have been better with a balsamic vinegar and some garlic. Everything needed a sauce or vinegars or gravy. The option of a creamy mash potato, greens and steamed vegetableson the menu would be good, anything to vary textures. Absolutely amazed that no sauces or seasonings were offered to the table. I asked hoping for a drizzle of olive oil, or balsamic vinegar, not even parmesan or black pepper today. Instead I was given 2 small sachets of Helman's mayonnaise. I suppose the advert does say makes everything taste better! After fighting to open the plastic wrappers my husband and I squeezed out about a teaspoon amount. Pathetic, but goodness the food needed it. Desserts and drinks were worth it. Gelatto was as it should be but had no wow factor for presentation. Could all be so much better if little tweaks were made. Maybe I am a fussy Italian, or maybe I was the only Italian in the restaurant today, haha. Can I suggest sending your Chef's to Roma or bring them over to Mamma Mias House, I'll show you all how to do it. 😅

Words can't describe this place as all the dishes are wonderful. Perfect place for a get together

Very poor food, nothing was even slightly warm and it all tasted like microwaved food. Has better Tesco ready meals unfortunately. Not enough staff for how busy it gets either.

We always enjoy Pesto and we'll return again. Just one comment, some of the dishes (especially my belly pork) were only luke warm and this spoilt our enjoyment. I think I have seen other comments on this so it is something to think on Was very loud and crowded but it was a Saturday

Sophie Manager is superb ensuring smooth running of the restaurant and always to hand, helpful and friendly, TATIANA! Is outstanding!! Taking time to talk/ advise and engaging in Cultural subjects..She is efficient/helpful/knowledgeable and very friendly!! An absolute delight!! Our meal was delivered unrushed and beautifully cooked. Gambo Peperoncino was superb/ 4 cheese and spicy sausage pasta cooked to perfection. Sadly..no room for belly pork as I was greedy, but Sophie gladly packed up for me. Biscotti brownie delicious and I always have Affogato as it is light. Full marks for VSOP Cognac!! A lovely Sunday lunch ch , Thank you Guys xxx

We tried the White Horse over our 'local ' the Axe and Compass. The food, as always, was delicious, probably the finest cuisine we experienced. Unfortunately, of all things, the furniture leaves a lot to be desired, their (the Axe and the White Horse) 'leather ' chairs are impossible, they are both keen to ram as many tables in as possible, possibly because of Covid. Their cleaning skills are atrocious. I did ask about, and we will be inclined to avail ourselves of their takeaway service.

Food was extremely bad, everything we ate was reheated but the absolute worst was the ribs, bone dry, with a puddle of oil beneath them and tasted like they were made 2 days ago. Service was ok until we mentioned we didn’t like the food and got our bill slapped down on our table as the waitress walked away, all in all if you like microwave meals but don’t want to go to the shop to get them, this is the place for you

Delicious food at a very good price in a very comfortable environment

The service and food here is excellent. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The entire staff worked seamlessly together to create a seamless dining experience. We never had to ask anything twice. I will definitely be back soon!

I am Italian, I went for a dinner.. the menù offer a lot of different options but the food is tasteless compared to the Italian tradition.

Rude staff who don't know how to conduct themselves

Fish cake was dry, carbonara raw- not al dente- raw. I can taste flour on my tongue. When my husband asked for some sauce for ribs, waiter said- “ we don’t have any” Really? Even no bbq, ketchup? At night we started feel pain in stomach and vometed . This time it was really bad , bad .

The food was very good. Prices are reasonable. The staff were good, if not under some stress as there were not many of them and a lot of customers for them to serve.

We booked online, easily and enjoyed a well cooked and presented meal. Restaurant was clean and the staff attentive.

I have left some great reviews in the past and have highly recommend pesto to many people, However the last two times (February and November) I have found the food to be a bit bland and the portions very small for the price, I know prices are rising but it seemed to be too much for not enough to us. Shame as we used to really like it here

I visited for the first time to celebrate mine and 2 others 80th birthday with our extended family. The food was excellent and served promptly which was good as there were 17 of us ordering.. Staff were efficient and friendly. Everyone enjoyed the food and it was good value for money. The Arrancini were ordered by several of us and were wonderful, also the calamari. My son had risotto with undua which he said was brilliant. I have booked to go there again in December.

Great service, great atmisphere and he food is amazing.

Very mediocre!! It was very busy, which gave a good atmosphere, but that's pretty much where the positives ended. The bar staff seemed disinterested, as did the waitresses. We weren't offered water with our meal and were only asked if we wanted any more drinks when the plates were being cleared. The food came out really quickly, the potato's tasted deep fried, the chickpea balls were flavourless, and the bruschetta was bland. The meatballs were tasty, but apart from that, it was very underwhelming! The food looked great, it's a shame the flavour didn't match... a lot of style with little substance!

We had a lovely meal here with friends never been before so dint know what to expect but the food was delicious love all the smaller dishes so you can try a few different tastes, tiramisu was lovely as a desert would return here and try some different dishes

Can't fault the atmosphere, service or food absolutely wonderful, I personally had the three choices ( mine was vegan) absolutely enjoyed every bit of it, would highly recommended to family and friends.. Friends that I dined with had none vegan options and throughly enjoyed their food too..

An Italian restaurant with casual and/or fine dining vibes but affordable price, good foods, good vibes, perfect for lunch or dinner with your favorite people. 100% Italian menu both foods and drinks. Excellent service. Drink price a little bit dearer than the foods but it's all worthy. Portion of the foods are rather small-ish but you get many choices (tapas style). They do afternoon tea and alcohol drinks with a lovely vibes. Definitely worth to try and coming back! ❤️

Pestos has always been one of our favourites, but some how the menu has changed. Once favourites have now been shelved, presumably because of cost. Almost everything is now vegetarian / pescatarian.

It appears that the place was short staffed as you were constantly looking draw attention to get service. Most food arrived but no explanation of when to expect the rest of the order.

Four of us had lunch, and the food and service were excellent. We will definitely be going there again .

I can't believe I've never stopped by here! It was perfect. Really good Italian food in tapas style! Such a great idea. The pink lemonade is stunning, with real fruit too. This is what we ordered, 12 dishes between 4 of us. Everything was carb based except for 3 of them. A balance is good to avoid a food coma, if that doesn't work, the desserts afterwards were yummy too, the lemon one didn't sound that great but we were proven wrong very quickly. Tasted fab. What we ordered: Insalata caprese Gamberoni all'aglio e peperoncino Verudure al forno Pollo all'aglio Pollo fritto Arancini Pizzetta formaggio di Capra Penne all'arrabbita Frutti Di mare gratinati Linguine al cartoccio Farfalle Al salmone affumicato e asparagi **** Conchiglioni ripieni Al forno (best dish rated by all 4 of us) ****

Probably our 6/7th visit and exquisite as always. The menu is huge and the smaller portion sizes mean you can sample so many dishes - each one is absolutely lovely (our favourite being the Bruschetta Funghi). The atmosphere is great as is the service and you’ll always be surprised by the bill as it’s very reasonable for the quality of food. The staff are extremely nice except the one occasion we were rudely told we had 5 minutes to leave the table as another party was waiting - around 15 seconds after paying the bill! Other than that small incident, a firm favourite of ours.

Fab food choices and lovely service.

Went to Pesto last night. Very popular restaurant. Had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be served drinks. Food overall was lovely however one of the dishes had a long hair strand in it and some of our plates were not clean underneath. Also our menu card was dirty. The waiters are mainly very young people and you can tell they work so hard. We made sure to tip them well. Overall good but with a few hygiene issues.

3 of us went for lunch yesterday for my daughter’s birthday. Last night 2 of us were really poorly with tummy cramps and diarrhoea. After talking this morning we realised that only the 2 off us eat the same pulled beef balls and they were not hot at all. I has said when I eat it that it was cold in the middle but never gave it a thought at the time as this was my first visit. Very disappointed and feel very poorly

This is a very popular spot just off the A47 towards Desford. Old pub that turned into an Italian restaurant quite a while ago. Huge car park which is needed. Very big dining rooms with loads of space. My server Jennifer was amazing, and all the staff seemed very well trained. Thanks Jennifer. This is a spotlessly clean restaurant. Food wise it is very good indeed in terms if value and quality I must say. Essentially think Italian tapas and you are near the mark. Different menus so you can choose between set menus or pick from the wider choices. Small pizza and plates of pasta. All the other salads and other Italian favourites here. Good range of options for vegans and vegetarians. Quality of food was good and all was very tasty and fresh which is important. This is very much pub Italian as much as a restaurant so liked that atmosphere. A good place for a hearty dinner and a good atmosphere. Booking is wise I would say and the online system worked very well. Food was a 4.5 stars for sure - just went for 4 as a little more touch here and there would probably be what some diners might feel. Thanks very much.

We love this restaurant. The food is consistently delicious and excellent value. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and are able to answer any questions. Lois is particularly charming.

People of colour please avoid. I made a booking for my daughters birthday only to find that on the day I would've been turned away if I hadn't had stood my ground. They denied I had ever rung, I had to go on my call log to prove this. After alot of deliberation Amy ( whom I believe to be the manager) & Leanne reluctantly gave us a horrible table right by the front door & every time someone opened the door the draught came in. I found Amy & Leanne to be very unwelcoming, rude & racist. Other than that the other staff members were lovely & the food was amazing.

Bit disappointed in the food quality. No going again as there are better places to go.

Having driven past this one day and read the good reviews me and my partner were really looking forward to trying this. Unfortunately the food was a massive disappointment! I got calamari and salmon with asparagus pasta and my partner got a pasta dish with a chicken dish and we shared a potato dish. The calamari tasted like it had been fried multiple times so tasted more of batter than anything else. The potato’s also tasted as though they’d been recooked. The pasta dishes were bland lacked flavour and did not contain any fresh herbs. Unfortunately we won’t be returning. The price of the dishes were reasonable but would have happily paid more to get better quality food.

Some of the Dishes are very average in Quality! The pork and meat balls are lovely👌The Pizzas are a very poor for the money!!!

Bustling bar/restaurant with a huge choice of dishes. Great variety for everyone, including fussy eaters. Some of the dishes are a little hit and miss, but overall the quality of the food is good here.

Selection of Tapas very good particulary the seafood choices. The beef stew and prawns with scallops had great flavours and ideal to dip the bread into.

Food was amazing & children are well catered for. The restaurant was full & there didn't seem to be enough staff to serve us, we had to ask for drinks, the waiting staff were excellent once we got served though. The noise from everyone talking was overbearing so if you want a quiet, intimate meal this is not the place to go if it's full, we were shouting to be heard 🙆. Parking also seems to be an issue even with the overflow carpark, I arrived just before the booking time but had to wait over 10 minutes for a parking space, along with half a dozen other cars.

A lovely place. Quiet, convivial, pristine clean and tidy. Courteous and helpful staff. Delicious food, with an excellent selection to suit all tastes. I look forward to visiting again.

This is one of my favourite places to eat. The menu is huge and can be overwhelming. It would be useful to add things like wedges/chips salad things to go with others. Else you end up with 3 random plates and nothing to bring them together.

Great selection of dishes all served quickly and piping hot ,we ordered an array of starters and main to share all came out correctly as ordered. Great service from an experienced pleasant waitress.who provided extras and more drinks promptly.

This is a regular meeting place for me and a friend - we both live quite a distance from each other and this is a halfway point . The manager is really accommodating at making me my favourite cocktail which is usually only on the summer menu . The cocktail is a Raspberry Mojito . I highly recommend it . I always have found we have received a great service by the staff & the foods always been lovely . At times I do end up taking some arancini balls home for the next day and forgetting that they are in my handbag . Would highly recommend.

Came for a work meal, staff seemed friendly and attentive, also not too cramped in which is a bonus. Food for the most part was great, although the calamari was soggy.

Food was Ok, it was a bit warm and noisy inside the restaurant. We will return on a less busy night. The service was really good.
