Our first time and will totally be back! Amazing food (& such good prices) and such lovely service - thank you so much Mallory (hope that’s right!) and Joanna. The beef nachos and chicken tex tacos were gorgeous!

Came for bottomless brunch today, the food was amazing and the atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant! A special thank you to Joana, Paula, Amelia, valerie and Sebastian who made our visit welcoming and enjoyable. We will definitely be returning!!!

You cannot find any Tex-Mex food compared to Perios’. Amazingly delicioua Lamb Chop!!! The seevice was extraordinarily friendly and neat. Joanna was well behaved and really helpful. Will surely come back!

Absolutely awful. I saw this place the other day on a walk, and had excitedly marked it to return with my partner. We came in tonight, and it took over 5 minutes for them to seat us, which was surprising given that it wasn’t that busy. I assumed they were understaffed, and let it be. When we were finally sat, it took another 15 minutes to order, despite us knowing what we wanted quite quickly, because the server was nowhere to be seen. When the food arrived, a taco platter for £29, we were beyond disappointed. Small portions, no pico de gallo, no fresh lime, bottled guacamole (the kind you find in plastic squeeze bottles at the store) runny sour cream, and cheese that was oily and warm because it had been left out. The two sauces, Chilli Lime and Texan Jerk, were also awful and artificial in flavour. We’re not ones to complain usually and the food was good enough, so we finished it. Around halfway through, we realised that they had forgotten our truffle Mac & Cheese – we had simply assumed it was coming later. When we asked, they acknowledged that they’d forgotten it, and sent the order to the kitchen. Like the tacos, it was fine but nothing special, quite oily + lacking in salt, paired with a slightly burnt and flavourless garlic bread. What particularly bothered us was that we had finished the taco platter at this point, and the server was struggling to place the mac & cheese on the table due to a lack of space, yet walked away after setting it down without taking the dishes – we’d even stacked everything to make it easier for her, and ended up having to place the tray next to us on the seat to make space to eat! We ordered the Dulce De Leche empanada for dessert, which was so horrible we couldn’t even finish it. Ice cream with icy chunks and a nasty refrozen taste, artificial chocolate sauce, and a lukewarm chunk of dulce de leche in a bready empanada. They also didn’t bring new cutlery, so we had to reuse the ones from the taco platter. We didn’t even try to finish it, despite not wanting to waste food. By this point, we were fed up. ‘Service’ had to be chased each and every time, and was painfully slow – we wanted to just pay and leave. The dishes were taken, and, surprise, another ten minutes before the server came back for the bill. And then, when they shockingly included service charge and the inedible dessert we had sent back, we had to wait another 15 minutes for the server to ask the manager for their removal, and to return so we could pay. No offer to comp the mac & cheese they had forgotten either, after seeing that we were clearly upset. The fact that the manager couldn’t be bothered to come and see what the issue was says a lot, to be honest. We were really looking forward to this place and had already started recommending it to others with high hopes because we liked the look of it, but we of course won’t be visiting again. Shocking service and mediocre food. And management, please – don’t bother responding with a template answer to save face like you’ve done to other negative reviews. Just do better. RESPONSE TO REPLY: You guys are ridiculous. Firstly, we didn’t request a corner, we were given it and didn’t complain, despite being right under a very loud speaker, and this point has nothing to do with how long it took for us to be seated. I won’t even dignify the comments over the food, clearly we have a different standard for what food should be. You well and truly have a big issue with taking accountability. We definitely told the server we were not happy with the dessert when she asked and provided specific feedback to the horrid texture of the ice cream, so this was communicated. You DID NOT offer any sort of compensation, the server tried to charge us the full bill with service charge, before we requested ourselves for the service charge and dessert to be removed. Maybe you didn’t read the review properly, so I’m quite ‘puzzled’ myself. I suggest investing the energy you spend responding to negative reviews with lies and deflecting, into running a proper establishment.

It's a wonderful place due to it's location, atmosphere and it's food. Even though the food quality is very high, we couldn't find the tradicional Mexican flavour that we were expecting. Outstanding presentation of the dishes!

Had an amazing time here for my 21st birthday celebrating it with family it was a lovely atmosphere with a vibrant setting. We had brilliant waiters and Sebastian who was a great manager and the service he gave to us was great. Made it a very hospitable and welcoming stay for our meal

BEEF BIRRIA £12 Slow-cooked spicy marinated pulled beef. Topped with pickled vegetables and green chilli sauce. Served with Mexican birria sauce dip The combination of the flavor of the tomatoes, the beefy ribs, and the salsa sauce is overwhelmingly wonderful.

We had Mexican food after a long time and it was worth it. The food was delicious, bursting with flavours. Our waitress was super friendly and the atmosphere was nice as well. A must visit if you are strolling along Brindley place canal!

Josh was a great host and made my experience warm and welcoming. I recommend the taco pollo frito! Also keep an eye out for taco tuesdays :)

I have to say this is definitely a 5* mexican restaurant. I have sampled Mexican food in different parts of the UK and other parts of the world and I have to say this is hands down the best that I have eaten. We were served by Aggy and her service was exceptional, she was very polite and catered for all our needs. Aggy is a credit to the team and had a smile on her face throughout our time in the restaurant which is rare to see now a days. We will definitely be back and the atmosphere is really great and the cocktails are amazing also. Best food after a long day of shopping in the city and well worth the money.

Popped in whilst working in the area and was very impressed. The location is situated right on the canal, the atmosphere was laid back and the service was fantastic (Aggy was particularly helpful and welcoming)! Food was comfortably the most authentic and tasty TexMex food I’ve had in the UK. Would visit again if I’m in the area!

Amazing food. I had the chicken steak burger and it was well seasoned, nice.e bread, amazing flavours 10/10. My partner had the beef tacos and that was sooo good. Service was amazing, thanks to Aggy, who was very attentive and fast with out food. Overall best experience and best food.

LOVELY EVENING! We were greeted and sat by the window with a canal view. Our waitress 'Aggy' was super friendly and advised us well with food & drink choices - she is a real asset to the place and made our evening! The food was STUNNING. Best mexican I have ever had. We shared the Pluto Grande between 2 adults and there was so much tasty food! Meat was cooked to perfection and cocktails were lovely also. Can not complain one bit - we will deffinatley be returning when we are next in the city. Thank you for a great evening!

We walked all over the area looking for lunch. We probably walked by this place three times. After checking out every menu in the area, we went back here. We picked a table outside overlooking the canal, for people-watching. As soon as we sat down, the server told us there was a half-price deal on for tacos. Unable to resist, we had tacos. These tacos were great. And generous. The Corona on tap was good too. We left thoroughly satisfied and vowed to return. For the owners’ information, if we’d known the tacos were half price, we’d have stopped immediately. Might I suggest a sign outside, as some of the other restaurants do mentioning their specials?

We came for bottomless brunch and our servers Nick and Josh were so attentive! We were served our drinks within minutes of ordering and our food was not a long wait neither. The food was delicious and the options on the menu were all amazing! Nick was so on top of making sure our drinks were refilled when they ran out and very chatty! Sangria and Mango Margaritas were amazing and the music was perfect! So much reggaeton which gives an authentic feel for a mexican restaurant! We will definitely be returning, amazing value and service overall.

Pre booked a table before attending Peter Kaye at the utilita. We came across from Nottingham and it was our 1st visit to Perios and it was well worth it. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and loved the atmosphere too. The staff were very attentive and friendly at every stage of our meal. We were served by several waitresses,who were absolutely lovely.....one girl was only on her 2nd day of working there and she was a natural.....they were all a credit to the management of Perios. I would definitely recommend to other's to give it a try and we would certainly eat there again,when attending a venue around those parts.

Aggy was an amazing host. She was kind and funny, and made me feel ever so welcome. The food was amazing and such good value for money. I’ve gone to a few bottomless brunches and never had such a good value for money! Absolutely recommend.

The staff here are lovely, the food is delicious and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The menu has tons of veggie options which I really appreciate. The only concern I have is that a pot of guacamole (about the size of a shot glass) was 3 pounds. I'm not sure how expensive guac is to make but that seems like a lot for such a tiny amount of it. I'd still come back because the food was absolutely delicious!

Avoid the Steak & Fries as does not resemble the photo. Sent mine back and replacement food took 15 mins whilst my friends enjoyed their. Manager was uninterested not even asking is how oir meal was when accepting payment. Will not be returning.

We thought Perios would be the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. It was our first ever visit, and we had a great night. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive, and it had an excellent vibe. If you love Mexican food, then you won't be disappointed. We will be back!

Excellent food and god price. Taxis is 50% discount on Tuesday. I couldn’t find any faults on that. The staff is approachable and polite. Environment and layout is good with plenty of space and lights.

I absolutely love Perios. I went to dine with my family, including my 6 years old daughter. The staff was brilliant, danced with my girl and was very accommodating to us with regards to food and the whole experience. Never been to a restaurant for this kind of food before but after my 1st visit I can't wait to come back!! The food was incredible, fresh and served quickly. Lovely atmosphere too. Very chilled, whole place was spotless and my server Nic was brilliant. Ordered food based on his recommendations as it was my first time and he was spot on with it all. The restaurant looks stunning and I've walked past countless times thinking I must go there. I love Mexican food. Anywho after months of thinking this I finally went today. When I tell you this was the cheapest, nastiest bad quality junk food honestly it makes Wetherspoons look like Marco Pierre White. I also had to pay first which I'm pretty sure is because they know how bad the food is and people probably wouldn't want to pay for it. If you're a fan of Mexican food or like any sort of quality food in general I would avoid this place.

On a very wet night in Birmingham we decided to try something a bit different and so dropped in to Perios. We were given a table overlooking the canal and ordered our food and drinks. The food was amazing and a great choice for the three of us who all have different dietary needs. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food and will definitely be back when next in town. Must add the service was spot on too and very friendly.!

Went on a whim and wasn't disappointed, that eager to eat we did not stop to take pictures of the food. Very tasty and will be returning. Friendly and efficient service and very clean. Loved the drink options and enjoyed a few cocktails also.

We came on a Tuesday as a family without prior notice (Taco Day) and Sebastián helped us a lot in choosing for our 1-year-old girl. We ordered some incredible tacos, especially the fried chicken ones. The place also has an incredible atmosphere and a very nice decoration. festive that invites you to really enjoy a family day with an incredible meal

Visiting the city and love mex food so called in late for food and had a lovely time. Josh and Carolina welcomed and reguarly checked in during our visit. Food was really lovely - veggie fajitas were ace. Can't fault it!

Just stopping over in Birmingham from Newcastle and stumbled across Perios on the canal. We found that the staff were exceptional, we were served by Josh and Carolina, both were super friendly and attentive, can't fault the service at all. The food was also amazing, I just had a chicken fajitas, but it was very very good and came out piping hot. Would recommend all around.

During my visit for my mother's birthday, I experienced exceptional service. The staff surprised her with complimentary desserts and a rendition of "Happy Birthday." The food was outstanding, particularly the beef pulled burritos. I highly recommend dining here. 10/10 👌🏽

Good service but the food was mediocre and the flavours were pretty weak and bland. If you're looking for authentic tasty Mexican food, this isn't the place.

Whole place is decorated in lucha libre elements. Every piece of restaurant very mex. You do not need to go to Mexico to be there any more. Maybe weather could be better, but oh well. Brilliant food. Fantastic location. Highly recommended. We payed around £40p/p with drinks with two desserts and tip which was included (but it is optional) but it was worth it. Probobly we won't take desserts next time as this part was the most disappointing from whole experience. But rest was absolutely fantastic.

Lovely canal-side views and hospitality was incredible. Sadly, the place was let down by the decor and smelly, unclean toilets. Still, we had a nice comfortable late afternoon visit. The restaurant was quiet and the atmosphere relaxed. The food was mediocre and arrived fairly quickly. None of our main meals were particularly enjoyable, but rather tasteless and dull. I enjoyed my starter more than the main, and loved the sweet potato fries. The dips were delicious. Overall, lovely staff and location of restaurant, but maybe overpriced considering quality of food.
