We have just had, quite possibly, the best Mexican dining experience ever! Mobina was a delightful host and made sure my Birthday meal was just beyond perfect! Tequila shots to add to the authentic experience and the photobooth at the back was the cherry on the cake! We has the steak TexTacos and the Fajita sharing plate which was an awful lot of food but absolutely delicious! The steak was our favourite. We then indulged in a Caramel Empanada and Churros (do yourself a favour and get the Dulce de Leche sauce!)

Food was okay- we got mango margaritas, beef burrito, chicken wings, cajun chips, and chicken and beef empanadas. The empanadas were the only things I really enjoyed. I think it’s a bit overpriced for what it is. Service was slow but it was a busy saturday night. The restaurant was really cold, it’s November please turn the heating on! Also weirdly bright. Probs wouldn’t return.

Incredible food, music and amazing customer service and I am someone that has been to many restaurants yet I loved the beautiful art in the mural and felt very well cared for. The name of my server was kinjal very polite and very helpful, definitely coming here again keep up the good work.

I was really quite saddened by our experience after being recommended to try this place. First of all, we tried to make a reservation via their website and it wasn't able to instantly confirm. We'd actually made a reservation to try elsewhere and then the confirmation of our booking came through at 5:15 of the day of our booking (we requested 5pm 2 days prior) and since we were in the area having some drinks we decided to go. The restaurant was basically dead so I'm not sure why it wasn't able to confirm our reservation. We were shown to a nice enough table, the vibes are a bit fast food. We placed our order of nachos, a couple of empanadas and quesadillas for mains. Sadly, all of the food turned up at once so we had to rush to eat it before it cooled down. Mexican food is supposed to make your mouth zing. When I was ordering the waitress advised me to choose the lime and chilli if I like spice. It was barely spicy at all, sort of nondescript flavour on the aubergine in my quesadillas, and nowhere near enough cheesy deliciousness. My partner had beef quesadillas, also with not enough cheese, and he remarked that the meat was dry. The best things were the empanadas, these were actually really tasty. The nachos seemed like cheap bagged nachos, nacho cheese sauce that tasted like sweaty feet smell all over them and just were a massive letdown. I love nachos so getting poor nachos was such a sad moment. We got a pitcher of mango daiquiri for £25 which was good value because we got about 8 drinks out of it, but it was overly sweet. We did also ask for tap water and this was never brought over. We didn't order dessert because we were mostly disappointed with the other food. 10% service charge but the only service was our order being taken and food being brought over, we weren't even checked on to see if we were happy with the food and as I mentioned the tap water was forgotten. I probably should have asked for the charge to be removed because why are we being defaulted to supplementing poor performance by a pre determined amount irrespective of the quality of service? Do Drs get tipped when they just do their job of saving lives? So why are we paying someone extra to bring a plate over to us when surely that is covered by their wage? This is not America. I would not recommend, honestly I think we probably could have gotten a better meal at a chain like Las Iguanas. I also had stomach cramps and diarrhea overnight and the next morning after eating here.

I found the food and drink at Perios uninspiring and lacking in authenticity. The burritos we ordered were 3/4 rice and appeared to have been made in a factory and heated up rather than made on site. The Margarita tasted like a mix and lacked freshness. The dips and chips were not as good as what can be found in an average supermarket. £100 for three rice rolls and a drink each. Not for me and not for you if you're over 20 and you've ever enjoyed real Tex Mex.

Went to celebrate our daughters birthday today. The food was average and did ask the waiter to bring the Nachos first to have with drinks,but brought them with the mains.

Nachos not great. Quesadilla main was good. Service awful: wrong order brought. Slow as hell service times. Took so long for second drink order to arrive that we had to cancel it. They added a 10% service charge for lame service. Avoid.

Szymon was very welcoming and hospitable during our visit. He ensured we got the table we wanted and also made suggestions on what to order - although we didn’t take his advice. He was awesome though!

The culinary experience was profoundly disappointing. I sampled a burrito, fried calamari, and nachos, the latter of which proved to be particularly unpalatable and inedible. The calamari was excessively oily and lacked any discernible form or texture. Regrettably, I experienced gastrointestinal distress the following day. And very expensive!!!!

Myself and 4 of my colleagues who work in 4 Brindleyplace, tried to attend this evening (04/10) after work to be turned away because "they were fully booked". There were only 2 tables in at the time. Whilst I fully appreciate that bookings can present themselves at a later time and such tables should be reserved for those who had booked, it was clear they were not fully booked as another member of staff stated "they were expecting a rush due to an event at the nearby arena" which clearly contradicts the fully booked statement (you would not be expecting a rush, the rush would be due to the bookings). This is disappointing, not only because we work and occupy a large part of premises in Brindleyplace, but it was to celebrate our colleagues forthcoming maternity leave. Safe to say when we walked past a couple of hours later, the place was empty. I invite Perios to formally respond why they decided to wrongly turn us away and encourage all Brindleyplace employees to avoid this place in the meantime.

We had a great time at this amazing mexican restaurant. The kids menu is helpful, which comes with a colouring book. My 2 yr old son was busy coloring it the whole time. Food is tasty, affordable and comes in good portion sizes. Excellent service from Paula.

First time here and WOW food absolutely lovley could not fault it at all. We meet up with the Husband's sister a couple of times a year and we choose Perios to eat. Could not fault the welcome we had when first walked in then we had Aggy who served us while we there 5 Star Customer Service perfect very pleasant and always had a smile. I would recommend going here to eat and try the Chilli and Lime sauce 😋

Delicious food and refreshing drinks. We have been served by Aggy and she made sure everything was to our liking.

I booked a table for 18 people of which had a £90 deposit. This deposit did not secure me the table however, I still needed to complete the preorder menu, which for my nan and little cousin was very hard. The pre-order menu did not have kids options on it. I also had someone with a peanut allergy who wanted to ask if they could order the steak without peanuts. But the pre-order menu wouldn’t allow for that so instead I tried to call the restaurant to ask and do the preorder all in one. I rang the restaurant everyday up until our booking and there was no answer, even though some of the times I called them line wasn’t busy. I don’t live in Birmingham so I couldn’t just pop in to ask. Why have a phone if you do not answer it? I ended up submitting my preorder without the ones I couldn’t ask about anyway because otherwise I couldn’t reserve my table. So already the week prior I have been stressed about this meal. We got to the meal and I told them about all the other changes as some people cancelled which they were fine with. I am thankful for that, and that’s where I thought the stress would end. We had the meal and the food was good. I can’t complain about that. When it came to the end of the meal and everyone wanted to pay separately even though on the pre-order everyone’s meals are ordered under their name so it would be easy to separate they didn’t allow it. We had to pay all on one card. As you can expect, I didn’t get the right amounts off everyone and had to sit down myself and workout everyone’s meals. Something wasn’t adding up and it turns out we were charged for 4 jugs at £25 each when we only ordered 3. As we had already left the restaurant and had to work it out I couldn’t dispute it with the staff. The meal was booked on the 13th of September it’s now the 20th. I have called 10 times everyday since then in order to try and be refunded for the extra £25 cost (which was more expensive than my meal). They haven’t answered, as you can imagine my frustration I’m now having to get in contact with my bank in order to dispute the payment that way. The food was good but NOT worth the 2 weeks+ hassle of trying to book, preorder and now sort out payments after. If you’re going to book a group meal here be prepared to put in all the work.

Perios is my favourite go to Mexican place in Birmingham. It is a beautiful little restaurant with the most friendly staff that I’ve been served by multiple times and the food is amazing would recommend 1000% percent if you love good Mexican food for an affordable price!

Came into the restaurant as a table of 4 on Sunday night. Walked inside to a pretty much empty restaurant. It’s very vibrant and a good place to look at. Unfortunately the service by the staff let down the evening. The food itself came. We had nachos which came to be abit stale. Never the less we carried on to the mains. We orders the tacos which were good. Quesadilla and burrito. The chicken tenga was a very unusual taste. Trying to get the staffs attention after being served the main meals was horrendous. They were having a good laugh and drink at the bar to the point we had to go over out our seats to get their attention. At the end of the meal making a slight complaint about the service the manager with the tattoos proceeded to say they lacked service as they were tired from bookings earlier on in the day. Which frankly is a poor excuse.

Food was brilliant. Quesadillas tasted amazing, as did the burritos. Their fish tacos are top tier. Great place to take a date! Or dine in solo.

Went there for lunch for the first time with no reservation. were given a large booth for two of us. We were unsure about portion sizes so ended up over-ordering, but the food was pretty good. Calamari was listed a s a "platito" (small plate) but was a very large portion, easily main course size. We felt there was a bit too much cheese in the chcken tacos, but they were nice, as were the quesadillas. Only downer really was that my wife ordered the Pina Colada Inocente which is a non-alchoholic cocktail, but was given an alcoholic one (my wife cannot drink alcohol due to health reasons). Luckily I noticed when she asked me to try it, otherwise we could have been in real problems.

It's a wonderful place due to it's location, atmosphere and it's food. Even though the food quality is very high, we couldn't find the tradicional Mexican flavour that we were expecting. Outstanding presentation of the dishes!

Absolutely awful. I saw this place the other day on a walk, and had excitedly marked it to return with my partner. We came in tonight, and it took over 5 minutes for them to seat us, which was surprising given that it wasn’t that busy. I assumed they were understaffed, and let it be. When we were finally sat, it took another 15 minutes to order, despite us knowing what we wanted quite quickly, because the server was nowhere to be seen. When the food arrived, a taco platter for £29, we were beyond disappointed. Small portions, no pico de gallo, no fresh lime, bottled guacamole (the kind you find in plastic squeeze bottles at the store) runny sour cream, and cheese that was oily and warm because it had been left out. The two sauces, Chilli Lime and Texan Jerk, were also awful and artificial in flavour. We’re not ones to complain usually and the food was good enough, so we finished it. Around halfway through, we realised that they had forgotten our truffle Mac & Cheese – we had simply assumed it was coming later. When we asked, they acknowledged that they’d forgotten it, and sent the order to the kitchen. Like the tacos, it was fine but nothing special, quite oily + lacking in salt, paired with a slightly burnt and flavourless garlic bread. What particularly bothered us was that we had finished the taco platter at this point, and the server was struggling to place the mac & cheese on the table due to a lack of space, yet walked away after setting it down without taking the dishes – we’d even stacked everything to make it easier for her, and ended up having to place the tray next to us on the seat to make space to eat! We ordered the Dulce De Leche empanada for dessert, which was so horrible we couldn’t even finish it. Ice cream with icy chunks and a nasty refrozen taste, artificial chocolate sauce, and a lukewarm chunk of dulce de leche in a bready empanada. They also didn’t bring new cutlery, so we had to reuse the ones from the taco platter. We didn’t even try to finish it, despite not wanting to waste food. By this point, we were fed up. ‘Service’ had to be chased each and every time, and was painfully slow – we wanted to just pay and leave. The dishes were taken, and, surprise, another ten minutes before the server came back for the bill. And then, when they shockingly included service charge and the inedible dessert we had sent back, we had to wait another 15 minutes for the server to ask the manager for their removal, and to return so we could pay. No offer to comp the mac & cheese they had forgotten either, after seeing that we were clearly upset. The fact that the manager couldn’t be bothered to come and see what the issue was says a lot, to be honest. We were really looking forward to this place and had already started recommending it to others with high hopes because we liked the look of it, but we of course won’t be visiting again. Shocking service and mediocre food. And management, please – don’t bother responding with a template answer to save face like you’ve done to other negative reviews. Just do better. RESPONSE TO REPLY: You guys are ridiculous. Firstly, we didn’t request a corner, we were given it and didn’t complain, despite being right under a very loud speaker, and this point has nothing to do with how long it took for us to be seated. I won’t even dignify the comments over the food, clearly we have a different standard for what food should be. You well and truly have a big issue with taking accountability. We definitely told the server we were not happy with the dessert when she asked and provided specific feedback to the horrid texture of the ice cream, so this was communicated. You DID NOT offer any sort of compensation, the server tried to charge us the full bill with service charge, before we requested ourselves for the service charge and dessert to be removed. Maybe you didn’t read the review properly, so I’m quite ‘puzzled’ myself. I suggest investing the energy you spend responding to negative reviews with lies and deflecting, into running a proper establishment.

Omg! I absolutely loved eating at perios! The atmosphere and food was exquisite and that destiny girl is an absolute sweetheart shes super funny and she really made mine and my partners night!! Would definitely come again!

BEEF BIRRIA £12 Slow-cooked spicy marinated pulled beef. Topped with pickled vegetables and green chilli sauce. Served with Mexican birria sauce dip The combination of the flavor of the tomatoes, the beefy ribs, and the salsa sauce is overwhelmingly wonderful.

Josh was a great host and made my experience warm and welcoming. I recommend the taco pollo frito! Also keep an eye out for taco tuesdays :)

I have to say this is definitely a 5* mexican restaurant. I have sampled Mexican food in different parts of the UK and other parts of the world and I have to say this is hands down the best that I have eaten. We were served by Aggy and her service was exceptional, she was very polite and catered for all our needs. Aggy is a credit to the team and had a smile on her face throughout our time in the restaurant which is rare to see now a days. We will definitely be back and the atmosphere is really great and the cocktails are amazing also. Best food after a long day of shopping in the city and well worth the money.

Popped in whilst working in the area and was very impressed. The location is situated right on the canal, the atmosphere was laid back and the service was fantastic (Aggy was particularly helpful and welcoming)! Food was comfortably the most authentic and tasty TexMex food I’ve had in the UK. Would visit again if I’m in the area!

LOVELY EVENING! We were greeted and sat by the window with a canal view. Our waitress 'Aggy' was super friendly and advised us well with food & drink choices - she is a real asset to the place and made our evening! The food was STUNNING. Best mexican I have ever had. We shared the Pluto Grande between 2 adults and there was so much tasty food! Meat was cooked to perfection and cocktails were lovely also. Can not complain one bit - we will deffinatley be returning when we are next in the city. Thank you for a great evening!

We walked all over the area looking for lunch. We probably walked by this place three times. After checking out every menu in the area, we went back here. We picked a table outside overlooking the canal, for people-watching. As soon as we sat down, the server told us there was a half-price deal on for tacos. Unable to resist, we had tacos. These tacos were great. And generous. The Corona on tap was good too. We left thoroughly satisfied and vowed to return. For the owners’ information, if we’d known the tacos were half price, we’d have stopped immediately. Might I suggest a sign outside, as some of the other restaurants do mentioning their specials?

We came for bottomless brunch and our servers Nick and Josh were so attentive! We were served our drinks within minutes of ordering and our food was not a long wait neither. The food was delicious and the options on the menu were all amazing! Nick was so on top of making sure our drinks were refilled when they ran out and very chatty! Sangria and Mango Margaritas were amazing and the music was perfect! So much reggaeton which gives an authentic feel for a mexican restaurant! We will definitely be returning, amazing value and service overall.

Pre booked a table before attending Peter Kaye at the utilita. We came across from Nottingham and it was our 1st visit to Perios and it was well worth it. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and loved the atmosphere too. The staff were very attentive and friendly at every stage of our meal. We were served by several waitresses,who were absolutely lovely.....one girl was only on her 2nd day of working there and she was a natural.....they were all a credit to the management of Perios. I would definitely recommend to other's to give it a try and we would certainly eat there again,when attending a venue around those parts.

This was the best Mexican spot in Birmingham. Valerie service was outstanding! The tacos was superb would recommend. Oh the music was on point.

The staff here are lovely, the food is delicious and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The menu has tons of veggie options which I really appreciate. The only concern I have is that a pot of guacamole (about the size of a shot glass) was 3 pounds. I'm not sure how expensive guac is to make but that seems like a lot for such a tiny amount of it. I'd still come back because the food was absolutely delicious!

Avoid the Steak & Fries as does not resemble the photo. Sent mine back and replacement food took 15 mins whilst my friends enjoyed their. Manager was uninterested not even asking is how oir meal was when accepting payment. Will not be returning.

We thought Perios would be the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. It was our first ever visit, and we had a great night. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive, and it had an excellent vibe. If you love Mexican food, then you won't be disappointed. We will be back!
