Pepe's Piri Piri in Kirklees

I had a very disappointing experience with one of the staff at the till. She was quite rude and unprofessional during my visit. Instead of being helpful or polite, her attitude made the situation uncomfortable. Customer service should be about respect and courtesy, and unfortunately, that was missing in this interaction.

Always hits. Usually have it delivered via Uber Eats. Always hot and tasty.

Terrible experience! Ordered a paneer salad from Pepe’s, and it was absolutely disgusting. The salad was soggy, wet, and had a horrible taste. When we contacted the restaurant, they refused to replace it, saying they “can’t waste food.” So instead, am I supposed to eat this awful, potentially unsafe meal and risk getting sick? Is that their solution? Customer service was just as bad as the food—completely dismissive. If they can’t serve fresh food or stand by their quality, they shouldn’t be selling it. Definitely won’t be ordering from here again! Staff was so RUDE and it’s unacceptable!!

Missing food from my order tried calling back rude girl who answered the phone, needs to learn how to speak to people correctly. Waited over 2.5 hours for a kids meal for them to say can we knock it off your next order. No as I won’t be ordering from here again

Absolutely rubbish food. Ordered a prime pitta, totally contradicting photos advertised. In the photo it looks totally different and nothing like what we got. The pitta was falling apart and looked out of date and hard around the sides, the chicken was falling out of it, it was soggy and broken into like 4 pieces, the lettuce looked out of date and soggy & yellow. Rang to complain and a very rude lady totally disregarded everything I said even though I said I had a photo of it. Totally unacceptable when you pay good money, she was unprofessional and spoke to someone else in urdu who I could hear in the background who was just as bad. Won't be buying from there again but had to do a review to let people know.!!

I had a solid experience grabbing lunch at this joint, where the options are shown clearly at the electronic screens! Staff were welcoming and the phrases on walls give insight as someone going for their first ever Pepe's, service was fast too. I really enjoyed the wrap with just the right kick of spice and fries hit so good with the peri salt, portions were very large and the sauces have a tasty kick!

Such rude service especially these two indian girls at the front counter all they were doing were chatting shit about their co workers. Whilst the men were busy at the back cooking up all the meals. Honestly just getting paid to stand and chat. This pepes used to be really good back in the day until students started running it.

Very rude staff I’ve order food for collection and friend gone for pick that order he clearly mentioned we’ve order and they give him wrong food and when we reached at home then i relised that’s not mine then i was trying to call the store but they are not picking up my call then my arived and tell them and show them pictures as well that they gave him wrong food but instead saying sorry they are showing attitude and not accepting there mistake

absolutely awful food, i would give zero stars if i could. my partner consumed a lamb burger following which he became dangerously unwell with an extremely high fever and upset stomach and was unable to eat or drink properly. Following that, i became unwell and had to attend A&E and didn’t recover for a week. Safe to say, we will not be coming here ever again…

Waited 2 hours for our food to be delivered a chicken burger meal, for a child, that had been squished to as flat as a pancake and no fries were given. Terrible if zero stars was an option they’d be getting that

Today is 25/12. I am extremely disappointed and upset with my experience at Pepe’s Peri Peri. After getting a delivery from UberEats on 22/12. My sister (who is 6 months pregnant) is suffering from severe food poisoning. It is so bad that she had to be hospitalized, which was a deeply distressing experience for our family. The hygiene and food safety standards at this location are clearly not up to par, and this is absolutely unacceptable. For a restaurant, the bare minimum expectation is that the food served is safe to consume. I strongly urge management to address these issues immediately and conduct thorough inspections to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone until these serious concerns are resolved.

Service was not good the food took so long even though I just ordered chicken and rice box!!! I’m not happy at all

I used to be a regular customer at pepes but recently when i have been having pepes the chicken has had a really bad smell to it on numerous occasions and the chicken also doesn’t taste right. I have mentioned this before but it doesn’t seem to have been dealt with or made a difference. I will not be coming here again !

I love pepes but I hate being judged when the 2 big men on front counter make mistakes. Mainly the one with the beard takes it very personally when the order is wrong and even gossiped over my food when I asked for my order to be fixed. I genuinely believe they’re doing something to my orders.

Pepes has some of the best chicken. And I hope it’s the same across all the benches. The chicken is tender, melt in the mouth and good quality. The Piri Piri sauce is epic. It’s my go-to for takeout chicken meals. The portions are generous for the price and it’s a hearty, comforting all-round great takeout option for solo and family meals.

prices have gone crazyyy, i remember literally 2-3 years ago it was much more affordable and now quality / taste hasn't improved, only price has gone up

You pay for a full meal but get kiddy portions. Be prepared to buy 2x what you have initially ordered. Better of going elsewhere to be honest e.g. chickanos - same priced food that actually fills you.

Ordered rice box, was supposed to be mild, but v hot ? Didn't particularly like the smell, tried eating but half went in the bid..

A decent spot with welcoming and polite staff, tasty flavourful food at a reasonable price.

Nice place to stop over for a quick bite when you fancy some zingy chicken. Fast efficient service. Well marinated chicken, but it's not ideal finger food and can get a bit messy. Nonetheless a real treat for the taste buds.

I ordered a mild pepes chicken box but was given an extreme spice level box. Mouth was on fire and it ruined my stomach as i already suffer from IBS, I had to pay the hospital a visit. when i showed my receipt to the worker he got cheeky with me and finally admitted to his mistake after going back and forth. Drop the ego and take accountability mate. This is unacceptable and I expected better from pepes. Cleanliness was also an issue do they not clean the tables after being used. I hope the workers spend their time getting some lessons in grace and decorum because they have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.

Absolutely love Pepe’s, always great service, quality and quantity of food you get for the price is good value. Huddersfield branch is always clean and well maintained, would recommend.

Ridiculous waiting times. Staff ask you 10 times to repeat order and they still get it wrong. Food is below average and the place was dirty. Would not recommend

I got 1/2 chicken mango and lime with chips and my partner got a wrap, the food was lovely very nice and tasty top quality chicken, this place is very clean and tidy and the man who served us was very helpful running us through the menu with it been our first time, will definitely go back again as we both was very impressed it exceeded all expectations, thank you

Service: Staff don’t look happy and don’t smile. 1. when dining in (eat-in) they don’t give you proper plates and cutlery… instead you get a flimsy thin paper plate! And plastic/wooden fork knife. Why can’t you wash a few dishes and make the customers happy by using proper ceramic plates and metal cutlery for patrons eating in ? I have asked for them to change this but they don’t listen. 2. SAUCES - When eating in , they don’t even have a big bottle of ketchup or mayonnaise? Instead they give you these pathetic generic ketchup sachets, which are not nice and are very difficult to tear open… I don’t understand why it’s so hard to have a bottle of ketchup/mayo for dine in patrons to use? Confusing… 3. Stingy with “paid” sauces. The eatery usually gives one garlic mayo and one chilli sauce in a small plastic tub. For many patrons this isn’t enough. When I asked for more of the garlic mayo they insisted on charging additional £0.40 per tub. Even though the minimum spend for a decent meal here is £10+ they still are so stingy with the sauces… not good. Atmosphere: Seats are comfortable. BE AWARE THE FLOOR IS ALWAYS SLIPPERY !!! I like pepe’s and they are doing well but it’s just these small details that will go a long way to a satisfied customer. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Food: food is decent/good - this is the only good thing about this restaurant

Ordered the family platter- hot Got to say the chicken is far the best I’ve tasted Family platter consist of whole grilled chicken with 6 wings and 2 chips and your choice of 4 dips and rice Beautiful grilled and marinated and really delicious I’ve ordered this on several occasions and each time it’s been ten out of ten

Was told to wait 15mins, took them 25mins and I missed train, had to wait 1hr in the train station for the next one. They prioritise the delivery orders more than the customers waiting in store. Unbelievable!!!🤬

From past few months every time I’ve ordered I had the same issue , same disappointment, usually I always get chicken n rice , however every time I get the same spicy rice even though I ask them to make it mild and on top of that I've told them couple of times about my other few experiences with them that the rice wasn’t mild and it was way too spicy so that they will make sure the rice is mild but guess what I get SPICY rice again!! Sooooo spicy that your tongue goes numb !!!! After all, what’s the point if you can’t taste anything??? You should have food just spicy enough to tickle your tongue and make you drool, not overdo it with the spices. Why would you do that I don’t understand! Even to I'm asking you not to do it as I cannot have it! And I end up putting it in the bin! They simply don’t care! Well you’ve lost me as a customer that’s it! hasta la vista👋🏻 I prefer to drive to Batley or Leeds where the food is made considering customer's request 😉

Best chicken and rice in town. Pepes has been opened awhile now when it started off it wasn’t the best. As time has gone on it has majorly improved thankfully now it has become a regular food joint for me n my family. Peri chicken and spicy rice are perfect and my husband loves the burrito ! Great place for nice take away.

Absolutely VILE food, disgusting pit of date sauces and burgers are vile, all nasty shi*, I just puked all my food up and it was only 5 mins after I ate, absolutely nasty, don't ever eat here, look at the other 1 star reviews, I'm not the only one saying this.

The girl at the counter was not friendly as there was no smile, and it didn't feel welcoming... Taste wise, the food was nice , but we asked for more gravey/sauce in chicken in the rice box and didn't get it... I feel the price is quite high for what you get...

The chicken burger xl was horrible. More dry than a nuns you know what. The fillets was tiny. The bun was cold. Struggled to eat it.

If I could give a 0 I would, ordered a mild chicken and rice box and it was in fact just as spicy as my husbands food which was hot. The rice grains were hard and tasted old. The chicken was chewy and tasted old and reheated too! Unfortunately my meal has gone to waste, and Ive lost my appetite for the evening. The manager did not care, or offer to send a replacement, he did however offer to send a driver to collect the food so he can inspect it!!!! Awful awful service, stale food! I would avoid this particular pepes branch!

I had visited Pepe's Piri Piri back in Pakistan but that experience was a disaster. But when today I visited and tasted the Quesadilla, Chicken rice and Piri piri fries, they were all amazing. All team was very friendly, professional and quick. Atmosphere was just like as we often observe in any other fast food restaurant.

The food tastes as good as any other pepes. The service is never great though. Double and triple checked that they had added all the extras on my order and still missing extra chicken in the burger. Girl on the counter assured me everything was there as well. Has happened several times so will be avoiding for a while until they can add things that I’ve payed extra for.

Omg.. Delicious than McDonald's... Never going to any other burger places for sure.. The fries and the dips you get with vegetable burger meal is yummmmmmm... Definitely became a go to place for me...

Love this place and regularly order from here. The XL burger meal being my absolute favourite as you can customise the heat. Looking forward to my next order. Keep up the good work.

I ordered the chicken rice box which I had to send back because the chicken was raw and smelly. When it was returned it still smelt quite bad but I masked it with their chilli sauce. The chicken was really chewy, more like lamb? Which was odd so I didn’t eat those bits. I should’ve probably asked for my money back because now I feel really terrible. We had also ordered an XL burger which was disappointing, the bread disintegrated and the burgers were kind of slimy. The Diet Pepsi is weak. The peri chips were great though!!! Not again. Also don’t worry you can get a table for ten because we shared our’s with a load of ANTS!!!!

Prices have gone up far to much! Extra fillet in burger now £2.50 from £1.50 a few weeks ago! Nearly £10 now for a burger and fries.......sorry but everyone is feeling a rise in costs so won't be going again.

The food is great and tasty when it is made nicely. But sometimes the orders are rushed and the food is underwhelming and dry. I don't think its worth the price for the inconsistency you get and how expensive it is. Make sure you never order as a large group of 6 or more as then your order will definitely get messed up and be done badly.

Poor chicken quality taste like chicken was few days old happened few weeks ago and I thought I’ll give them another chance. Not worth the money.

had a chicken wrap the chicken inside was so chewy it got stuck in my teeth for a week its like they just microwaved it before hand which was such a shame because the rest of the wrap tasted nice but the chicken was absolute trash and a waste of money ill never be coming back again unless they change the management very disappointed

Not the best but not the worst. Chicken & Cheese quesadilla was falling out the bottom while eating. Maybe use a bigger tortilla or wrap it over. Other than that not a bad experience. I would recommend.

Delicious, fast, and good service

Love the flavour, there's something about the taste that pairs well together. The services are fast and pretty clean. Best items on the menu: Chicken Tusca (In Mango and Lime + the heat flavour you like) And the Grilled chicken. (Always mix flavours)

1st time ordering here, absolute exceptional food ready and delivered in 20 mins piping hot. WOW sooo much food we couldnt finish it exceeds all expextations, amazing flavours good value for money absolutely definitly would recommend and will order from here again.
