Pepe's in Cardiff

I like the pope's since inception. Whenever I see pope's, then I just grab this option . Fortunately, I found Pepe's in cardiff as well although I had to walked for 15 min from town center but it's worth for me as I was fed with other burgers and was not getting a good rice option. But unfortunately staff wasn't good, she offered me wet tray my all hands got wet she didn't offer me tissue or other tray, at the same time I asked for another mayo as I ordered 3 things but she said I can offer you only 1 ketchup which I've already offered you for another one you've to give me 1 more pound. Which was rude or something new for me in my pepes' journey . Anyway food is good , ignore the staff, enjoy your meal

Food was OK but the woman at the register was very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Didn't ask to take my order I had to call over, and overall had a sour and bothered attitude when placing my order. She was yelling very loudly and rudely at the delivery drivers who were waiting to pick up some orders throughout the time that I was there and this made it a very uncomfortable atmosphere throughout. You can't enjoy your food when someone is shouting and arguing loudly the whole time, so this just ruined the experience for me. I think the staff could do with some customer service training, it's a shame because the food was decent albeit quite expensive.

I've been pepes 3 times now and each time it resulted in me having really bad stomach and toilet problems the next day. I really want to enjoy the food because they have a range of delicious looking options but it's food poisoning me. My stomach is in pain and I feel extremely sick

Lovely food although restaurant cleanliness and service could be better.

Quite regularly visit different pepe’s branch’s but this by far is one of the worst. I have tried this one a lot of times and only maybe 2-3 times the food has been nice. Regularly get the chicken and rice box, this is the only branch that charges extra just for mixing flavours! Reason being is that the staff don’t know how to process an order correctly. I wasn’t asking for extra sauce, just to mix the flavours. On top of that the rice is so bland, hardly any spice mix put in there and chewy/burnt chicken is being served with a tonne of chilli flakes chucked on top. The only good thing is that the food normally comes out fresh and hot. Just a shame the quality can’t match. Also I don’t have a problem with it but every time I go there the workers are blasting music and seem to be messing around. I hope this doesn’t affect the quality of food produced, by all means if this helps you work/operate better that’s fine I just feel like it’s a bit unprofessional and that they should be focusing more on the quality of the food. I really hope you guys do better and take this advice on board because I am a huge fan of Pepe’s but sadly find myself visiting port talbot or Caerphilly where the customer service is good and they have nicely flavoured rice and not so chewy chicken.

Waited outside ten minutes after they were suppose to open and a Pepe's worker walked past and he was absolutely bogging. Looked like he hasn't changed his t shirt in months. I was going to ask him if he was competing in the bog snorkeling championship.

The food is absolutely delicious and amazing but when it comes to customer service they don’t respect who was in line first and it’s always crowded with families no where to sit and have your food in peace

Not very helpful if you have an allergy or disability. Told the staff if I can have a can instead of a plastic cup but they said the cans are only for people who order online. Even called the manager but they weren't moving as they said they paid lots of money for their drinks machine. Shocking service.

Uber order they take too much time. If they need time ,why they press the ready for collection button . I am waiting almost 40 minutes for 2 order.

Had the uber delivery from them this weekend.leaky weird smell food and my son had severe food poisoning after having it ,had 10 episodes oif vomiting almost night! Worst food, will never order again!

I've been ordering from this Shop for the last few months, and while their grilled chicken is absolutely delicious, their service is worst in the town. Out of the last 10 times I've ordered, I've only been lucky enough to get the grilled chicken 4 times because they frequently run out. Despite this frustrating inconsistency, I have to admit that their grilled chicken is worth the hassle when you can get it

This Pepe’s Cancels Your Orders Last Second when you Order Take away. Would not recommend at all.

Last 2 times I’ve ordered from this place now - 45 minute wait for my food via uber eats the first time and an HOUR and 10 minute wait from the time I placed my order the second because they gave my order to someone who had the same name as me - obviously not paying attention enough to do their job properly. They then told my delivery driver he could just cancel the order if he had a problem. Great customer service guys. Won’t bother ordering again, wait times and customer service are terrible.

Almost 45 minutes wait inside the shop, understand your busy but stop taking orders when you reached your limit! When the member of said “Next please” i told perhaps you should concentrate on your backlog orders rather than taking more!! Their lucky they haven’t got competition unlike these burger joints.

Food is spot on and I regularly come to pepe’s. However, today I was waiting for over an hour with no communication from staff and when I asked I was ignored for 10 minutes until I persisted. I then saw my order go all over the pass and they put it back into the bag. When I asked for a refund it wasn’t issued. As a compensation I asked for a drink which was given and no straw given. Usually great but today was awful. Writing to highlight poor standards.

Cracking place. I wouldn’t eat in but the food and service is always brilliant! I love the wrap with cheese and extra strips.

I like the food from this franchise but this one is so bad. The garlic sauces are always less then full, you have to pay for seasoning on the chips (30p) but they don’t put much on it. Also rude service and slightly pricier then say Bristol

The staff is disrespectful, the restaurant always smells like burnt oil and there is shortness of breath . They are late in preparing the food and do not respect the delivery people of Deliveroo and Uber orders. And Pepsi is very bad, as is their restaurant.

Waited a whole hour and then my delivery got cancelled because they 'ran into an issue'. These people have no sense of customer service. They can say goodbye to any more orders. Absolute bloody joke!

This is the worst pepes i’ve been to across the whole of UK. We ordered in store to takeaway and had to wait for 45 mins before we got our order, what an absolute joke!! They don’t provide a canned drink, apparently it’s only for uber eats/ just eats? I’ve not seen this at any other pepe’s. I don’t mind a drink from the machine but their pepsi max was absolutely flat. Their rice boxes are also a joke. If you like pepes don’t visit this branch because you will have bad experience. Avoiding this branch in the future

First time here, food was ok, cooked nicer at home though, definitely not worth the money. Quarter of a chicken was basically a thigh, and not alot of meat on it. £5.60 for a skimpy chicken leg. £8 For meal with handful of chips,, was less than a kids meal. Cheaper in KFC and fills you more. Tasted OK and would maybe try a different meal next time to see if its any better, just because of previous reviews..

Wing's tasted great. Just had to wash the sauce off, put our own sauce on, then cooked them again. Lemon + herb can take a walk.

I had a delivery from Pepe’s Cardiff. We ordered 3 wrap meals. The food arrived on time but it was cold and the chicken was dry and hard. Standards have really dropped with their chicken. I had to throw away all the food was not edible. Waste of time and money. Will not be ordering again.

Extremely bad service! Half of the food was missing. When asked manager wasn't present. When we rang they were very unbothered and asked to come pick the rest of the things. Disappointing and unprofessional.

Fries served directly on the tray, never seen that before. Toilets were out of order. No 7up. The burrito rice had way too much lemon, overpowering. Service was friendly.

Love the chicken in hot sauce with basmati rice. A great deal for less than £7.

I visited Pepe’s Cardiff for the first time today. On arrival the restaurant was very clean and food came in good time and was awesome!! It was so fresh and tasty, big portions as well. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. I recommend to everyone!

Staff are rude & steal your money (do not give you your change & then sulk when you ask for your change). Changed their times from 12pm to 3pm. Just an irrelevant & stupid change to make.

Horrible service. I was told on the phone to wait 20 minutes for my order, but when I came in they had told me to pay and wait another 15 minutes, I go in again after another 15 minutes they continue to tell me to wait some more.Turns out they hadn’t even put the chicken on the grill from when I made the order on the phone almost an hour ago.

I love pepes! I regularly come here as before I moved to Cardiff I would get it a lot and it’s close to where I live 😂. The staff are wonderful and the food is delicious; I recommend it 100%. Enjoy! 💕💕

We've been to many Pepe's across the country and this one is the worst. Poor attitude from the lady taking orders with no manners. Multiple items not available. Wrong items given. Food was burnt. We'll eat from Pepe's again but not this branch.

Normally pepe’s has good food, and I used to go to this one a lot. However, it has had constant bad service, wrong orders, and the managers shouting and swearing at the workers. Today they messed up my order, even though I repeated it 2 times, which has happened a fair few times before but hasn’t been a big deal. This time they refused to change a 7up from a Pepsi as they had already “made it”. Also they have jacked the prices again so if you want to go Pepe’s best to do that when your not in Cardiff

Just few moments ago I Ordered .my order number B-101 ( 10 pis extra spicy wings ) but you guys not give me wings there are no wing pis ,you guys give me all leaflet which is not fear . Customer service rude as well . Focus what customer order and what you give to them

We love Pepe's in Swansea and was excited when we noticed that we were staying in a hotel near Pepe's Cardiff, but we were slightly disappointed, still good food, but the quality is not as good as previous Pepe's. They didn't have any garlic mayo!!

This place is very good for grilled chicken. I love to eat Chicken Tasca with peri peri fries.

What i can say is that the food is AMAZING! I come here nearly everyday and they never let me down with their fresh food. The food is smothered with seasoning and sauce with a delightful taste. Not to mention, the service is very good. You are welcomed nicely and you feel settled. They always have a smile on their face and are very nice. A worker gave me free chips and garlic sauce!! 🙃And they are always ready to take my order. the atmosphere there is very clean. The tables, chairs, and the floor are clean and shiny. Once people leave out their left overs on the table . They quickly come to clear the food and clean the table. I would 100% recommend if you are hungry 😎

I love Pepes its like a better underated version of Nandos, I always have the lemon and herb 1/2 chicken with rice. Can be very busy but that's because the food is good! Definitely recommend

So overpriced, small portions, manager was rude refused service, chicken was uncooked, spice levels are so irregular, manager was cheap didnt want to give a cup holder, barely any chips sauce was watery, gave us 3 wrong burgers, chips are unseasoned, very hard chicken 60 pounds for 6 meals

70. Not worth it at all. Only thing that tasted good was the peri peri salt on the chips. That came in a packet! 2 peri burgers was flat Peri wings had hair in it Chips soggy Fish burger was so small. Smaller than a kids meal

Worst staff. Very bad management. Told me 20 minutes wait and after 30 minutes when I asked about my order they were laughing and joking and no sorry, and telling me we are very busy. After 50 minutes they gave me my order without apologies. I paid last time and this time extra money for extra sauce and both time they gave me dry chicken. Last time I ignored it but they are ripping people off by charging extra money and not giving sauce. Worst customer service ever 😒

I wouldn’t come here again, I was recommended this place by a few trusted friends. We ordered wings and chips x 3 meals and extremely disappointed. The wings were drenched in sauce which I can only describe as tangy Nando’s sauces you get in bottles. The wings were so tiny! I wish I took some pictures. I enjoyed the chips that’s about it. I would avoid! There are such nicer places to eat in Cardiff. We waited over an hour too, just not worth it. I would want my money back I would avoid guys honestly

Went in today with my friends and ordered chicken wings as usual. However, some of them were tasting funny and they were undercooked. Tried talking nicely with the staff but they weren’t very professional and didn’t handle the situation very well. They were very rude and argue with us saying the chicken wings were fresh and nothing wrong with them and making fun of us in front of other customers. I hope the owner take our compliment seriously and have a word with the responsible person in charge tonight as he doesn’t have any regards to the customers. He is very rude and unprofessional and feels like he is forced to be there.

A surprise hit! I'd heard great things but never had the opportunity to try it. Might have to make it a regular. Highly recommend their burrito or chicken xl. Extremely delicious, albeit a little messy.

The food is good as always but one massive complaint I have is how they always give garlic sauce pots less than half full. I payed 50p for 2 tablespoons of sauce (40p in store). It’s diluted and has a more milk-like consistency than usual. Any pepes employees reading this please take this on board. Charging for near empty sauce pots isn’t a good look.

I’ve wanted to visit but they are not HMC certified. There are loads of pepes around the country that are HMC Certified, the Cardiff one should follow the initiative.

Pretty much everything here is incredibly low quality processed food. Not a great place for food with the burgers being so stale. There is close to no flavour either. However the staff were okay and quite chill. The seating was a bit dirty and it smelled quite bad near the back.

Service wasn't good enough, food was okay though.. Waited more than one hr for my order, they took too much time for take-away, and more over they missed food items in my pack, I had go back again to get it those..

Lovely food. I always get delivery as it’s in a busy location and the store is always busy so the price is a bit high with delivery but other than that the price of each item is worth it. The food is amazing. Service and quality is spot on.

Well firstly the guy I spoke to on the phone thought he was Tony Montana from Scarface, secondly half of my order was missing and the other half come cold. Thirdly the driver couldn’t even communicate properly and we was told that missing/lost items isnt their problem. Saying that I think the driver ate the chicken burger as he had abit of chicken around he’s mouth when telling us the order had missing items.

We had 4 burgers and 3wrap 18 wings for take out. burgers and wings was so delicious every 1 of us enjoyed, but the wrap was so chewy. Really sad 😒😒😒😒😒

Disappointed with my order as I had placed an order for rice and chicken and the chicken was clearly cooked with electromagnetic radiation hence making it stale and quite unfit for consumption. Called to speak to management to inquire about the dissatisfactory order and was advised that the establishments manager only comes in at 6pm and I should give them a call at that time. No apologetic nature of the staff towards the food delivered and unclear communication offered and vaguely asked to take it up with Uber and management if i am unsatisfied . Kindly consider before ordering from them and proceed with caution.

Small and flat burgers grilled chicken burger was more like a panini, taste was alright but expensive compared to size. Will not be visiting again and do not recommend. Asked for peri salt but said it will be charged however was free when I was giving the order on till, careless attitude towards customers. Kitchen was very noisy too

Ordered via Uber! The packaging for the kids meal was disgusting and not safe had to throw away the food as it was not sealed. Called to speak to manager to address the issue ,No call bak and not even an apology from the staff. How they have 5 star food quality rating is beyond me.

Poor experience from Pepe's Cardiff. Ordered a £40 ordered and no sauces, tissues or even salt given. When calling the branch the manager didn't apologise until i said if he was going to at least apologise. Real roadman customer service from the manager who preferred a more argumentative approach rather than resolving an issue. Poor service.

Pepes in Cardiff — If I could give this place a 0 I would. I love the food but the customer service is sooo sooo baddd , I just haatee to even order pepes online or over the phonee, they just always get the wrong order , Staff is never friendly always trying to send people aways by saying it will take 50 mins for the order , get all the order wrong __ no refund it offered , no compensation is offered. It sucks that such good franchise has such appalling service and staff .
