Excellent food every time I've ordered it.definately recommend. Very quick delivery

ordered through uber eats at 7:20 and they said it will be here at 8:05-8:25. we waited until this time but still no food. we then called peony and they said that food was being prepared still so we left it till 9:15 when we called again and the women on the phone was very very rude asking us if we still wanted our food as uber had cancelled our order. we said we still wanted our food but we was calling to see where it was as we ordered it 2 hours ago, women on the phone then said we had to pay delivery driver £3 as uber had cancelled our order which wasn’t our fault, she then wouldn’t let me or my partner speak and kept speaking over us when we asked why we had to pay a further £3. she then abruptly ended the conversation and put the phone down with no confirmation on my order. will not be ordering from here again and i suggest you think twice before you do too

A regular customer, great food, extensive menu. Friendly staff. A sign informs customers that phone orders take precedence over drop-ins. Lots of parking and other shops in the precinct to shop whilst waiting for your order.

The flavour and delivery always fantastic .The price are very reasonable, offering great value for money, and the food arrived piping hot ,which was amazing. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon. Highly recommended.

Placed order at 1806 delivery was ment to be half an hour, then changed to 1910, still no food by then. After chasing up twice we eventually got the order at 2030!! 2 and half hours for a £60 order with no extras or apology, just we are busy! Not the first time this has happened.

Ribs and meat in the dishes is very chewy and dry. Chow mein is also very dry. Shredded beef is extremely salty and basically inedible, overall very disappointing for the price. The only good thing is the delivery time which was very quick although i wont order again.

I had been here every week, the food quality and friendly staff was impressed. The best Chinese food in Derby. Thanks!

Food wasn’t cooked and was very expensive

Wow ! We had Wedding Anniversary food today and I must say I was very impressed with the quality and services. Especially the Lemon Chicken dish taste quiet different then other Chinese take away .Will order more in future ,thanks !

Peony is a go to for me. Lovely staff and great food. It's kinda funny seeing people queue past the door for the average chip shop nearby not realising they're missing out on this gem.

Has Peony House changed hands? Have been using this take away for over 20 years but on the last few occasions the food has been really poor!

Disappointed in this meal. It was delivered on time and was hot but we just didn't enjoy the food. Tough prawn toasts tasteless chicken with cashews, despite the cost not even a few prawn crackers, dry vermicelli noodles in the chow mein (and it included a mushroom which could be harmful to some people).

Walked in walked out after seeing there prices

Always excellent food, probably the best takeaway

First time takeaway today at Peony House for myself and wife. The man who served us was really friendly. We both enjoyed our food and will definitely be returning!

First time order as new to the area. Unfortunately I wouldn’t order again as I have never had a more bland tasteless Chinese. My king prawn sweet and sour balls were like prawns in dumplings whereas I am used to them in a crispy batter but again that’s my preference. The beef in black bean sauce meal tasted of nothing. Sorry, not for me however I can see others enjoy this restaurant so I wouldn’t want to put anyone else off!

Just picked up a take out from here as we are staying in a hotel close by. And my god it was the best Chinese me and my family have ever had. Girl that served me was lovely and my fella really enjoyed her recommendation

Not used this place for a while but it was a pleasant "rediscovery". Nice tasting food reasonable price and at a handy location in Oakwood.

Ordered chicken curry, was convinced it was pork, however turned out to be dead fatty chicken, ate around this. Chicken balls (chicken ok, batter was horrible). Wouldn’t order again or recommend, waste of money, don’t bother.

Always find the food nice however the 3star hygiene rating has put me off. Also why is my order more expensive when ordering on Uber than it is in the shop? Not taking into account delivery fee either .. Food price has definitely gone up and the quality has gone down.

Well ...trying a new Chinese was very dissapointing, pork balls were minced pork ..dry tasteless and boiled the salt and pepper ribs just salty , small portions and no prawn crackers....not doing that again !

Great food, great value and great service

Always happy to order from Peony house as it’s my local Chinese. However, noticed the food has significantly increased for the same quality. Almost £7 a main… multiply that by a handful of dishes and you could of enjoyed a meal out. For that reason I will consider ordering from other Chinese take away.

Prices have hit the roof and no delivery. Will go else where from now on. Burnt ribs. Portions small.

Never had a curry before that doesn't come with rice. Burnt ribs.dog wont even eat them. Rang to complain and not interested. Prices are ridiculous.

Best Chinese in Derby. My partner and me have tried elsewhere, but we always come back to Peony! We’ve not had a bad meal and are always impressed by the quality, price and service. Only thing I would say is Peony should invest in a better ordering system. The classic phone line doesn’t work when you are a popular local takeaway.

Terrible customer service I have ever experienced! Ordered food delivery through uber but delivery man could not find our address so didn't get delivered. So I phoned Peony but they said I'd have to contact uber and there's nothing they can do? Clearly driver did not call or message me and although I ordered through uber, Peony made food and Peony sent the delivery man over. But trying to avoid responsibility rather than offer to help was just shocking! We got the food after all (after 1 hour and 50 minutes since I ordered) but their attitude was just awful! Food wasn't that great either! Never going to use them again. Totally disappointing 😕

Had Peony special chow-mein. By far my favourite one. With thin noodles which not been overlooked and very tasty. Definitely will come back for more.

They are not open on a Monday, despite their opening times saying they are.

This is out favorite Chinese Takeaway. The food is wholesome and feels like it has been made with a lot of care and attention. It is never too heavy, or too indulgent, which you can get sometimes with a Chinese take away. Thank you.

By far my favoirite chinese. Always great food and great prices. The only down side is they dont deliver. It is worth going to fetch it though.

It's Monday 25/2 /2019.9pm.ive just bought a beef curry boiled rice and salt and chilli chips .boiled rice ok.beef curry no flavour and it had pineapple in it .no extra chilli heat.chips we're chips with salt on.dont waste your money .heat some toilet paper instead it's got more flavour.

Phoned wanted to place a very big order for it to be delivered (due to having friends round to eat). Was told they didn’t deliver !!!!! Their loss, it was a good £70 worth of food. Won’t be using them in future.

"Popped" in here 6:30 after a hard day at work - still sitting there like an idiot at 7pm on a Monday night - of all nights! To say I was unhappy is an understatement! Their excuse? "We had a really big order in before you" ......errrrr - so why didn't you explain there'd be over 30 minutes wait before I ordered to give me the option of not doing so? Very unhappy with level of service!

Always been great to me! Been to other Chinese and that made me realise that there's no where better than this place

Once was the best but due to change in ingredients to what i can only assume cheaper ingredients now wouldn't recommend.

I did not enjoy this food, the meat that was supposedly "chicken" was soo bad, I am that willing to take it further in contacting environmental health or trading standards. Order at your own risk.
