Penhill Chippy in Swindon

Our first visit to this chippy after reading in the Advertiser they are the best in Swindon. We ordered a small sausage in batter and a small chips , we did not have to wait long for our order . Once at home we unwrapped the order to eat .The battered sausage coating was a rather crunchy , the chips for a small portion was massive , although a lot of the chips were small (we would rather have larger chips ) but they were well cooked and not greasy . Nice friendly staff and cheap prices .

Friendly staff, freshly prepared food. Good value for money. Never go anywhere else for my chips, etc.

I visit every Friday great value for money staff amazing if you get there early not long to wait can be a bit busy on a Friday night but hey it's worth the wait

Best chippy in Swindon. Visit at least once a week and have never had a problem. Great portion sizes and friendly staff.

Excellent chips , large portions been more often now that the chips are better used to go to sims but they have gone down hill

Portion sizes are exceptional, quality of food it outstanding, unlike others they don't reheat leftovers from the night before.

Staff ok, food ok and prices ok... Its all ok but nothing is outstanding. Worth visiting if in the area.

The cod I ordered was very small for a “large cod” and it wasn’t up to much. I didn’t find the chips very tasty at all. The curry sauce was disgusting. My partner had a battered sausage and a fish cake and he didn’t enjoy his. Safe to say I won’t be returning.

Without a doubt one of the best traditional chippys around Swindon, food is always full of flavour. Would highly recommend this chippy to anyone.

Chips that are cooked and crisp and fluffy inside. No grease and one small portion is enough for two. Friendly staff and really clean.

My son wanted to take me out for a meal, so took me to Penhill Chippy. The staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. When asked if we could eat in (as they have tables and chairs) our food was served on plates (and not on chip paper) and cutlery. The food was delicious, cooked thoroughly, was piping hot and not greasy. For £9.70, we had 2 cans, small chips (which was more like a large), double cheese burger and a doner wrap. I would highly recommend this place whether you are having a takeaway or eating in.
