Great place for food and drink after a long walk along the canal. 2 brunches for the grandchildren both plates cleared (2 Sausages, 2 rashers bacon, beans, scrambled egg, chips and toast) Ham egg and chips Sausage sandwich and chips. Excellent food, value for money. Entertainment outside was brilliant to round the day off. Definitely coming back..

The breakfast was excellent value for money and cooked to perfection. 9 items plus toast. Staff really friendly. Very enjoyable. Lovely walk after before the rain arrived!

Lovely spot and friendly staff. Coffee was ok. Ploughmans was ok. Chicken salad was very dull and disappointing. It was just a bit of lettuce with a few bits of cucumber and cherry tomatoes. No peppers or red onions for nearly £10. Not really a main course.

Arrived at midday after walking from Llanellen. I had sausage egg and chips, a pot of tea and a can of diet coke. When I asked for a diet coke I was told to get from the fridge. I had to request a glass. The 2 sausages and chips were great. The egg was ok but slightly undercooked with a a bit of slimy white. The food arrived in reasonable time. Service was ok but not very welcoming .

Went on Sunday morning for Breakfast and walk with family. Lovely full Welsh breakfast highchair for toddles friendly and helpful staff. Will return starts at 10.00am till 11.30am

A great cafe serving home cooked food to eat inside or at one of the outdoor tables overlooking the canal. Would highly recommend.

We used the cafe as a meeting point for a walk along the canal and enjoyed our lunch so much that we went back for tea and cake later on. The menu choice was excellent, loos were really clean and the service was first class. The only slight downside was that we weren't aware before our visit that we needed a pound coin for the car park but we'll certainly be back so will remember next time.

This cafe despite being a bit of the main road is a fantastic place, situated on the bank of the Mon and brecon canal where you can see the canal boats while having a nice drink or a lovely meal as I did today, fathers day lunch, just so nice to sit there and relax. The staff are very friendly and helpful and work very hard so a BIG EVENT YOU TO ALL really enjoyed my roast beef .

Lovely little waterside cafe . We had delicious breakfast baps before a hike up Sugar Loaf Mountain then came back for coffee and cake. Coffee and walnut and lemon and geranium . Staff are super super friendly and love dogs. One of the staff came out to give all the dogs sausages then 5 minutes later someone else tearing all the pooches to dog biscuits . Great place to visit hire kayaks and (small) narrow boats to enjoy the canal then food at Penelope’s .

Lovely afternoon spent with grandson at this cafe and wharf, cafe was very busy but served quickly and with a smile, good selection of niceitys, coffee was nice also , plenty of outside seating, well kept area to lounge about on , lovely walks close by , car parking not too far away, could do with few more disabled space's, canal boat trips available at sensible prices if you like , all in a nice afternoon.

Lovely location. Staff are ok. Restaurant clean. Cakes are bought in so not for me. The menu looks like it would cater to the tastes of most. I would go back if I was in the area.

Very slow service, only 1 person making coffees and taking orders.15 minute wait just for coffee, unacceptable. Only 4 people in front of us. Will not bother in future.

Stopped for a drink whilst we were visiting the wharf, lovely to sit outside with a lovely view. Service was great and a wide variety available

Stopped off for coffee and cake and that won't be happening again! The cake (£3.25) tasted like a piece of bath sponge: dry and synthetic. I couldn't eat it and my partner agreed. His Bakewell tart was better, but not much. Altogether so disappointing!

We ate a lovely roast dinner here today first time out in 2 years because of covid very nervous but we had a lovely time.. The dinner was delicious best of all our new puppy was allowed to join us and meet all the other doggies.. Will definitely return thank you penny for a lovely mothers day and thank you for the wine and flowers

Nice friendly place. The girls were really helpful and obliging. Dogs welcome. Spotlessly clean inside. Disabled access is a little difficult as there is a long ramp up a slope but not impossible. Food is clean and wholesome. Plenty of seating inside and out in a very attractive spot.

Called in here with some mebers of my camera club who were on site for a photo shoot. The service was excellent and friendly. The food and drinks were very well presented and a good price.

Gratitude cafe on Goytre Wharf, staff are friendly, prices are reasonable and coffee is good. Great views over the wharf as well. Plenty of parking.

Great coffee in what is a lovely location. Plenty of outdoor seating that makes it dog friendly. Goitre wharf is now a peaceful rural location. 200 years ago it was part of heavily industrialised South Wales. Worth a visit.

Would be really useful if you could indicate on the website that you stop serving food 30 mins before closing. We had rung beforehand to check you were open until 4pm but then on arrival at 15.32 were told we were too late for food....

I visited a few times since the cafe reopened under new management. It is a clean and safe environment with friendly staff, they cater for gluten free diets and vegan. I would recommend this as a lovely pit stop in a picturesque setting.
