Pendulum Hotel in Manchester

Fantastic clean hotel, breakfast had lots of choice and there was plenty of variety... spacious rooms.

I only went to the conference facilities. They had tunnocks wafers today.

Great location, rooms were clean and comfortable, food was lovely, we had breakfasts, a lunch and a dinner. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return

Was okay, rooms are not too bad I've stayed here before, the hotel seemed a little more run down than last time, breakfast was a bit of a disaster not a huge selection & had to wait 25 mins for some plates for a cooked breakfast which was a pain, We ended up using small side plates not ideal. I'm not too sure I'd return.

There are better hotels in the immediate area - at a similar price. The rooms are incredibly small. A double bed is 1.20m large - or small, as you see it. At first we thought the hotel staff had made a mistake - however, the “double bed” advertised was actually a 1.20m bed. So the two of us had to fight over a blanket. A second blanket did not come despite repeated requests. In the room itself you can rotate around your own axis - but nothing more. This is not for people with agoraphobia. In addition, the furnishings are very outdated and sometimes dirty. The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, is very rich - here you can get baked beans, scrambled eggs or even sausages “freshly” prepared. The foyer of the hotel is clean, is vacuumed daily and is attractive thanks to the “pendulum” (from which the hotel gets its name). There is a café in the hotel - here you can get drinks and cocktails in addition to the usual café specialties. It's very comfortable to sit here. Very good price. Nevertheless, there are significantly better options in the immediate vicinity even within this price range. If we had stayed here more than two times, I would have been very dissatisfied.

Brilliant hotel. Great service . Great food

The best: the location, very close to everything to be able to get around for a walk. The attention from the hotel staff, the attention from a Spanish employee at the reception was 10. The cleanliness of the room. The worst: I suppose it could be the size of the room, although taking into account the more than reasonable price taking into account the location we have no complaints.

I visited here recently for a congress and the staff and the service was the best, we were made welcome and the food and rooms and value was excellent. Highly recommend

The place is very well located, it has everything you need within a 10-minute walk. Breakfast is very rich. The rooms are small, but the bed is very comfortable and clean.

Horrific filthy bedding and the food was rotten... avoid at all costs

The conference rooms and the venue generally were great but the reception staff barely acknowledged me and the barman was barely interested either. Shame

The staff was made up of wonderful people…helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, fun. Everything was very convenient. The hotel is near the train station…easily walkable… I would definitely stay there again. It was a very pleasant experience.

The pendulum Hotel is a Very nice, cosy and Romantic place to be. The Gardens and the indoor areas are so nice and the reception and services are top notch ch. there is also a great space for holding conferences and seminars.

Hotel very well located, walking distance from Picadilly Station. You can also walk to Picadilly Garden or the cathedral. Good breakfast, not only English but also cold cuts, bread and cereals. Rooms are very, very small, double beds are also too small for 2 people. Friendly staff. Here and there there are corners that need to be renovated. Price performance ratio okay. Would book it again.

I love this hotel.The staff was very helpful and polite.My room was outstanding with a nice hot shower and clean duvets. Highly recommend for everyone!

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. Booked with booking. It is located a few steps from the train station. I had no problems of any kind, I used the luggage storage service both upon arrival and when I left. Excellent and convenient especially if you have early morning and evening flights. The hotel is very nice and the breakfast buffet excellent. The room for two is perhaps a little small but it has everything you need and is fine for a couple of nights. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant. We tried the fish & chips and I have to say I was amazed. Very good. I recommend it.

Decent accommodation. No one in the bar when we went in and it had closed when we returned from a night out. Room was small but delivered. However, it was looking a bit tired. Breakfast also okay. Location very good.

As always it was a great stay, however it did have a couple of issues (not big ones thankfully). The receptionist looked as though she didn’t want to be there but was nice enough. The room was ok but we’re used to the curtains being black out (we’ve stayed at this hotel for 7years now for at least 2 visits per year) but for some reason this time they let light in which was annoying. The light in the bathroom flickered on and off multiple times when you turn it on which isn’t ideal but not a massive issue. Apart from that it was a great stay! Lovely clean room with a massive tv. Lovely hotel breakfast (for an xtra charge but cheap if you book it the day before!). Quite loud this time to but I gather it was due to Xmas weekend!

Me and my friend came to Manchester for a weekend because of a concert. We booked a stay at this hotel after a horrifying experience with a guesthouse in Cheetham hill. This was the last sensible place we could book and check in on the same day. At 285£ for two nights we found the room to be a bit cramped and the hotel overall was a bit dated and needs some love and care. It was perfectly spottless and comfortable on the other hand. The high rating goes out to the front desk staff. Both the young lady and the shoulder length hair chap were super friendly and helpful and tried their best to fulfill our needs. We asked for an extra duvet since we stayed in a double room and it was delivered to our room asap. The location of the hotel is good too. We found Sackville street to be quiet but within 10 minutes of walking to the centre (Piccadilly zone) and the venue where the concert/rave was (WHP depot Mayfield) Will consider staying here again if the price is right when visiting Manny again.

Business trip to the conference centre. Very nice facilities, great and helpful staff. Coffee facilities are top notch along with a well thought out lunch.

Room was incredibly small and in dire need of refurbishing, and there was no lamp or reading light. After climbing to the third floor I was surprised to look out of the window and find the room was at ground floor level to a raised public walkway (see picture). This meant that I didn't want to leave the window open, it was a heatwave, and there was no air con. There was a door in the corridor outside my room that opened both ways and made a lot of noise swinging back and forth when anyone went through it. The en-suite was nice and the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was good, but the nearby Premier Inn has better rooms.

Well what can I say, I had my wedding here Saturday and would like to thank Michelle for doing an amazing job with the wedding planning you were a delight and so accommodating, to Bruno the Chef who did an amazing job with all the food oh my lord it was a triumph and good luck in your new role x, to Sue who helped us all with drinks and breakfasts and being a top person throughout the stay x to the staff in general you were all great and helped every way possible x we are sorry we made so much mess and bugged you for rooms and info but you all did it so well and with grave x thank you again you are amazing all of you xxx 160 people attended the wedding all day long

Great hotel - very welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable bed, clean room, and a great location for the University of Manchester.

Questionable service and management. My wife and I were in our room, busy, and were walked in on at 23:00 at night, 'by mistake' by a member of staff. Of all the things you expect in any hotel, security and privacy are paramount. Of course, mistakes happen, but this was outrageous. We were offered around a 40% reduction on the cost of the nights stay, which personally I think fell way short of what they should have done. I expected a full refund for the night. I was told by management that they had apologised and didn't have to offer anything at all and that as we were unlikely to be repeat customers there was no real reason for them to refund anything at all. If value your privacy and expect good service, try somewhere else.

Had an event here, the room was very good, lots of space, food was good, plenty of selection and the staff were super helpful and friendly. 👍

We stayed just for 1 night, I was happy to stay as it was quite central to the city for the price however it definitely is a case that you get what you pay for. Service was average, the main light in our hotel room was not working but could not get anyone to help with that. Equally the corridors smelt of smoke which was not pleasant. We were woken at 0830 from housekeeping slamming doors around us which was unexpected. All in all, an average stay but I’m not in a rush back.

The rooms were very clean, a bit small bit clean and the staff were very nice.

Chose this hotel as it was 10 minutes walk from train station. Lobby was clean and professional. Looked like a convention type hotel. Room was a little small but was complete. I liked the breakfast spread, it was value for money. If pre order, it’s less than £10. Spent £73 for room with 2 breakfast included. Recommended.

Decent place, nothing to write home about. I stayed a night here for the SRA convention. The staff were nice enough to not charge me for a slightly late check out (due to the conference). Very average food and facilities - not worth the price. There is a nice garden area however.

I didn't stay as a guest, but I attended a convention there. Which the room was amazing for because it had very large round tables. The room size was also very large and perfect for our needs. Reception also had a few snacks for sale. Also there is an actual pendulum in the middle of the hotel. Where it gets it's name and it looks fantastic.

Nettes hotel, zentrale Lage, leckeres Frühstück, freundliches Personal, das Zimmer ist einbisschen altmodisch, aber angenehm. Alles war gemütlich.

Rooms are very nice but the most important aspect is the bed which was uncomfortable and the pillows are uncomfortable Staff at check-in are very friendly, Rooms were clean and fit for purpose, I only spent £55 if I had to spend more for the bed I would of been highly disappointed though Overall I would recommend this place though

Stayed here for one night, staff were very friendly, located in a great spot close to the train station and bars. Room was really small but didn't bother us as it was only one night. Definitely what you get for a three star hotel, would recommend for a one night stay
