I’ve only been there for food, but their American biscuit sandwich is just soooo gooood.

I have been here a couple times and the staff are so amazing. Blown away by their friendly, accommodating customer service. Drinks, interior and overall vibes are great too. Nice buzz on weekends and chill on weekdays.

Used to be one of my favourite spots - went there with my girlfriend last week, waited at the bar to be served, all bartenders didn’t bat an eye. 3 people came later and the bartenders served them one by one. I asked, “am I invisible” and the bartenders gave an attitude. Bartender finally asked what would I like but I refused to be served by such arrogant folks. Sent my girlfriend in to get drinks, she got served in no time. Begs the question, why didn’t I? Sort your staff out.

Terrible service. Staff lie about happy hour. Very disappointing. You're better off going somewhere else in North Quarter

Good selection of drinks, music, and a decent happy hour. Food (lazy Tony’s) was disappointing. Funghi fries were a bit on the pricey side but nice and could tell they were real potatoes. Aubergine parm sub was just grease on some bread with a bit of sauce, massive rip off.

Went last night expecting another quality pizza. Turns out the menu has changed and its just sub style stuff. Very, very loud in there. And they've put a giant gamling table down the middle. The beer we wanted wasn't on so we still decided to stay and looked at the menu. Staff then started explaining certain items weren't on the menu. Staff were nice but we won't be going back. And I used to love it

James was absolutely amazing, from suggestions on what to order to general chat. Absolute legend and a fab bar. ❤️⭐️

Foods gone royally down thy hill. Came for pizza a year ago and we loved it, great everyday pizza. Atmosphere was good and a few decent beers on tap. This all remained the same besides the food - they no longer serve pizza but have pizza signs plastered on the walls. We ordered garlic bread, it turned up as garlic bread stick, and they were bogin. The fries, also bogin. A real shame. Coming for drinks and bar games is a big yes, for food a big oldddd nope. I wasn't going to mention the toilets but... Holy moly, my friend asked where they were and I said "use your nose". He found them alright. Shocking, infact, disgusting. The 2 stars is for the service and atmosphere alone - very good.

Beer garden in Stevenson square is a nice spot. £6.50 for a pint though!

Fun and fantastic place to enjoy a cold beverage.

Clean and open venue, had a nice Pastrami lunch. Service was quick and attentive, sat with a nice view of the square. Good venue in NQ if you or some of the group aren’t down with the typical grungy NQ bar. Only down side was when I returned in the evening the service was slow with bar staff serving their mates ahead of others which eventually caused some aggravation.

Do like it in Ply, great range of beers even though they've taken my favourite off, Dortmunder! Always try to visit when I'm in the NQ.

Food didn’t turn up, asked why , manager got upset and we hurt his feelings

Went there 04/03. Sat down at a table, music was crazy loud. Only sold sadwiches which were overpriced and did not taste the best. Out food came out with 2 of the sides missing, when we mentioned to this staff, instead of checking the orders we got blamed for the mistake and was shouted at. We then got asked to leave but the security understood the situation and let us stay. Will never return, got overcharged on my order by 10% also, avoid like the plague. Just a citty centre cash grab 👍

Went expecting pizza, instead it's just a hipster sandwich bar with shocking service. The manager needs a few training courses and some calm me downs.

A great venue ruined by one terrible manager. A group of 8 of us came in and ordered food and drinks. One of our friends tried to get an employee's attention several times to no avail. After half a dozen attempts, someone came over and my friend asked where his missing food was. The man, who later identified himself as the general manager, kept interrupting my friend and speaking over him and not letting him explain the situation. He got so rude that our friend stopped talking and let the manager wander off. The manager then ran straight to a doorman and falsely told him our friend was being aggressive. He was so hostile and rude over a nothing situation. I tried to speak to the manager by myself and halfway through the conversation between myself, him and the bouncer, he just walked off. Between us we have over 100 years of retail/hospitality experience and would have been sacked for acting far less rude to customers who were far ruder. The bar staff were absolutely lovely, so was the doorman. It's almost as if they realised their manager was extremely overreacting.

Food was really nice. They messed up our order with half of it being delayed but they were lovely and even gave us free dessert to compensate for it (without us asking!).

We had to leave it WAS 2PM ON A WEDNESDAY. I feel sorry for the staff I don’t understand how they get anything done or communicate with each other with music that loud in the middle of the day. I hope they don’t get tinnitus. Baffling

Great atmosphere and amazing food thanks to the pop up cardinal rule. Paid Parking round the corner which is free after 8pm

Absolute disgrace of a bouncer. Bald man with beanie, beware he is very aggressive for no reason at all. Ply should really look into this!! I used to love this place but the treatment from security was beyond horrendous.

We were out on a works do and just popped in as we were walking past. Decided to eat while we were there pizzas all round and she'd load of beers . Yeah id definitely go again good service. Plenty to choose from

the guy that served us (has a mullet) 10/10 service, sooooo lovely! will be returning!

Hmmm... Is this a bar? A nightclub? A Pizzaria? A disco? I went tonight to have some drinks and to have nice talk with my friends from London. A big stone oven for pizzas inside.. Very loud music... When we arrived at the table were 2 pizzas left from the previous customers.. I asked at the bar to get the table cleaned.. Service 1 star Drinks are everywhere good 😊👍 Ambiance? If you are looking for loud music and drinks than this is the right place.. but not a place to have fun dance etc etc with friends.. try another location ;)

It was ok for a quick pizza and beer, limited choice, mainly a younger crowd, service was fast and staff were polite. If it’s Italian you’re after I’d suggest elsewhere.

This Used to be a great Pizza restaurant. Unfortunately you need to change restaurant to bar that does food. Bar that wants to be a night club with the volume of the music blasting. Walked in and expected to be greeted near door as most restaurants. Walked up to the bar area, (very short staffed it seemed). Waited for the barman to finish pouring drinks and serving other customers. Bartender was apologetic and seemed nice, (we did have a reservation) and found us our table. Explained that there was no table service and to order at the bar. Hence this is no longer a restaurant. Had reservations due to this and the volume of music, we stayed as we had plans locally after. Ordered at the bar and when food arrived my Pizza was slightly burnt, and no one came over to check on us during our meal. Shame as this used to be a great restaurant. If you are after a bar / nightclub with a food option it is probably great.

Came to try the Cardinal Rule pop up which we had been looking forward to for weeks. As soon as we entered, the music was very loud. Sat at a table and genuinely couldn't hear each other speak. Had to leave and had ringing ears after only a couple of minutes. Went to Kongs instead which was great. Why have such loud music when people just want to socialise and chat?

Went to PLY where it stated online food until 10pm. Went about 8pm, no one there to seat us and didn’t see anyone until someone came up and said the kitchens closed. Poor service

Are you having a laugh? What is the reasoning for automatically adding 10% service charge to my bill when I have to order on the bar and there is no table service? No one have checked on us either while we were eating. Maybe add a disclaimer on the mene that the prices are actually 10% higher or provide some sort of customer/table service rather than charging more for nothing. Check your receipts when ordering at this place as you most likely will be overcharged for non existing service! Food from Mickys was great though

Don’t bother going here. I never leave reviews but I HAD to. I’ve been twice and each time was worse than the last. when me and my partner walked in there was no one behind the bar and no one to seat us. we waited at the bar for 10 minutes before someone finally appeared from the back. the staff seem completely unbothered. The menu that is advertised outside is actually different from what they have. It’s pizza and sides but when you go inside you learn they don’t do half their menu as they use their back kitchen to serve sandwiches? didn’t realise you needed a whole kitchen to make fries and wings. literally the worst place i’ve ever been to.

Wowzizzzzzzz sandwiches were next level. Bar staff are lovely and range of pints is perfect for any tastes.

I wouldnt recommend nor go back to this place. Visited on 09th Aug 2023 for the first time over lunch. I was told the sandwiches are great. I chose the chicken parm. not worth the money at all. tastless and pointless service is poor and slow. The restaurant wasnt busy and i waited 40 minutes for a sandwich. was not worth the wait. asked the server where my colleagues sandwich order was - she was clueless and said she didnt know = so i had to prompt her to ask the question. A guy server was singing to the music didnt really give a damn about service. female server had to be promoted to ask a questions re how long the sandwich would take - you know you have a problem when the customer has to ask the server " can you please find out " - " we have been waiting more than 40 minutes" i wont be spending any money here. nor will i recommend this place . Avoid . its pretentious, doesnt focus on the customer and just pointless food.

I'd never been here before and wish I'd have come sooner. The pizza is gorgeous authentic stone oven cooked pizza and is delicious.

We only went in here as it started raining all I can say is thank god for the rain for once or we would have missed out on Ply. What made this so good was the fund of the Shufl game £10 for an hour it was best fun. We didn’t eat but the Pizzas looked amazing. Music was great. We will definitely be back soon for a game of Shufl

One of the worst bars I have ever been in. Staff are absolutely rude and make you feel like rubbish. I would not recommend for people to come here unless you want to leave feeling worthless. The staff are just rude and down right disrespectful. They should be ashamed of themselves with the way they spoken to me today. They have lost good custom from me as I won’t step foot in here again

Been here twice. The first time was at night when it was really busy and the second time it was during the day when it was quiet. Both times the food has been excellent. The pizzas are a good size and are really tasty. I love the doughy crusts the most. Service is pretty good but I didn't like the fact that table service is only on nights. During the day you have to queue up at the bar which can take some time when you just want food. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Would definitely keep coming here.

So disappointed with this place. After wanting to try it for years, we went for dinner today and it was absolutely awful. The pizzas came out cold and had absolutely no taste to them. I have a gluten intolerance so opted for gluten free base and my sister opted for a Normal base. Wasn’t expecting much as most gluten free food is bland, but this was something else. There was minimal cheese and the base was so soggy. Would not recommend here atall and certainly won’t be visiting again. Also ordered truffle and Parmesan fries, which I think they forgot to put the toppings on too! Do not waste your money, dine elsewhere.

Delicious Pizzas which were massive 🍕🍕and a great atmosphere really chilled out. They have shuffleboard and photobooth so you can stay longer after your food. Recommend PLY to anyone 👍🏻

Used to be a great bar this, but must have had change of owners. As the level of service is poor, drink choice is now rubbish with limited craft beer, and way over priced compared to other better bars in the area

This place had great memories for me as it had a great variety and brilliant food and atmosphere. However went yesterday and it was terrible. The choice of drinks was not good and we got accidentally overcharged (but got refunded once we realised but it took time). The benches are horrible as we kept injuring our knees on the edges trying to get out or back in. Doubt I'll be going back, what a pity.

Look at this neighbourhood in Manchester - it’s like lower East Village or Meat Packers District in NYC. Low rise, old warehouses but with half the price tag. Pizza was spot on. Go there.

Good atmosphere and vibe to the place, always seems to be enough space to find a seat, even on a weekend. We had pizza and had mixed opinions. Loved the 'Honey I spiced the pizza' but found the 'Margherita' slightly lacking in cheese. But overall good value and a nice array of beers on tap. Also love the shuffleboard tables they have available, super fun activity for a few people or a larger group!

Awful. We booked a table and showed up ahead of time. We’re told by one member of staff “sit anywhere we don’t take booking beyond 6”. A manager came over (male, shot, beard) told us we couldn’t sit where we were because it was booked, he slammed a booking board down on our table told us to move and left. He moved us then came over to the table and told us our behaviour was unacceptable then refused to take our drinks order. We left. Bouncers we’re very apologetic. Said it’s happened before with customers being disappointed by specific member of staff.

The staff on shift were fantastic! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I had the 'Fun Guy' mushroom pizza and it was delicious 😋

Visited with a friend for pizza and a drink. We were there for ‘happy hour', the drinks menu telling us a bottle of prosecco is £20. We were ordered it we were charged £30, the bar man wasn’t bothered saying it was £30 on the till!! He eventually said he would sell it for £25 but when we checked later he had charged us the full £30! Having read other reviews it seems being overcharged isn’t uncommon. Trading standards be interested in visiting!

Went in on the Saturday for a birthday bite.....it was one of the worst pizza I've had. The dough was flavourless and the tomato sauce was very runny. I got their equivalent of a pepperoni pizza and that was the only pleasant bit (can't really go wrong with chopping some cured sausage). Wasn't impressed, must of been on a bad day 🤷‍♂️.

We had a work do for 20 people at Ply and it was such a fab experience. Delicious pizzas and fries, great variety of beers, super friendly and dedicated staff. I’m pleasantly surprised and wouldn’t doubt recommending it. We’ll definitely repeat!

I’ve been a regular customer to Ply for many many years. In the past I was quite happy for quality of food (pizzas in particular). From last experience I had, it made me put Ply’s in the black list not to go back anymore. Attached the so called ‘pizzas’ in photos which looked absolutely shocking. Ordering food definitely took too long to wait for and noticed lost of customers complained not only for the quality of food but also for the long waiting time. Infact lots of couple although reserved a table just walked out before ordering. Unfortunately Ply lost its standard and will not be going back there. Prices also too expensive what what you get! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

A great place, super staff, amazing pizza, ridiculously cool! Played shuffle board, enjoyed the atmosphere and took advantage of the pizza deal! Would most definitely return 😎

I feel like a pizza has 3 basic ingredients plus extra toppings. Dough, tomato sauce and mozzarella.

Met a friend and had a great afternoon chatting and eating great pizza. Think it was Louis (hope this right) who served us. Was happy and smiley and very accommodating. Ty

I am hoping one day to regain my hearing after visiting Ply. Pizza needed a few mins more, don’t go here if you want to be able to have a conversation with your friends

Was looking for somewhere to get pizza and not knowing where to go so took the advice of some local door staff who highly recommended Ply, glad I stopped and asked them. Plenty of space, polite and friendly bar staff, and fantastic pizza. Tried the one with the fried egg, wasn’t sure at first but OMG it was awesome, cooked to perfection, pizza dough was good and fresh and pizza very tasty. Music was good with a live DJ who couldn’t of been friendlier. All in all a great place to go for pizza.

Went in here quite late one day after we struggled to find anywhere which was still open. Should have gone in earlier because I liked the place. Quite a big bar, with a few good choices of beer. Right on Stevenson Square, easy to get to.

Went here last January and was amazed so when me and my boyfriend were looking for somewhere to go I suggested it and it’s drastically changed really bad service waitress telling us most tables are dirty , menu all ripped up , food options not as good and not as good tasting , I have worked in hospitality most of my life so I know how things can be but this is a sad decline :(

Great place, music, food, friendly staff

No longer a safe haven for Coeliacs - due to the environment being a pizza kitchen, the staff refused me service as a Coeliac and were unable to provide ANY options from the menu, despite having gluten free beer on tap. Also refused to allow me to bring in my own food and for the rest of the party to eat there from the menu. Try Tariff and Dale round the corner where the Coeliac owner is much more understanding.

Staff just stood chatting while customers stood at bar waiting to order! And overcharged for two lagers £22 instead of £12

The music is too bloody loud. Can't hear the person next to and opposite me talk. We are literally shouting at each other. The wings look like they have come off midget chicklets not full sized chickens. Fries are good though.

PLY is amazing & I would HIGHLY recommend! They hosted a large corporate event for us at last minute due to our original venue falling through. We visited the venue & were met by the amazing staff who couldn't do enough for us. Within 1 week they had everything ready to go, the food was incredible, they arranged a band for us & the night was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who helped us. We loved our time at PLY & will be back soon for more incredible pizza! :)

Me and a friend had a pizza each and a pint. Both were great. However, sometime after we left we realised we'd been charged £40. Pizzas were £21. That means 2 pints and a tip came to £19. Not sure if this was fair. I'd return but I'd be much more conscious of the bill

Spent a Saturday afternoon here and was served by Kev. Absolutely amazing staff and very reasonably priced, plus a good atmosphere.

Good restaurant especially for pizza and Good drinks

I was given a table and then promptly forgotten, I have seen a number of people come in after myself, been seated and had drinks ordered and menus provided and I myself hadn't even been given a menu after having been seated at 4. After waiting 30 minutes since sitting down, with no menu or anything, I left.

Just had the most brilliant Night out in Ply, Keegan Roy and Steph looked after us we had a few drinks a dance and a few games of Shulf so we had lots of fun really felt looked after Thanks Guys we will definitely see you again. & hoping I can Grace your walls with my art soon Susan Govindasamy -Fantasy and Form Mark Ricardo Tyler and Ellie Ellie andRicardo fly back to the Bahamas with happy memories from here So thanks again Guys you rock !! 😎🤘🏼

Absolutely awful service Average/below average pizza Terrible experience, would never go back - head to Ramona’s 1000x better! Would not serve cocktails (place was half empty, so not like rushed off their feet or anything)

Friendly team, great service and really good food. A nice relaxed place to catch up with friends and have a bite to eat. I’d recommend this if you like wood fired pizza, it’s good!

The service was slow and rude given the place had 4 customers to 6/7 staff in. The old Irish bloke was confrontational about my not wanting to pay an optional (that you have to remove) service charge. Chef had his feet up on the counter top surface. The wings were alright, but not worth the grief of the staff in.

Best gluten free pizza have ever tried! Super friendly staff + atmosphere. Loved the whole informal relaxed vibe yet attentive service!

Stumbled on this place by chance and we are glad we did. Great pizza, excellent, speedy service. The Irish chap that served us (Steven I think) was really helpful and funny. He Definitely Recommended the good stuff. Couldn’t fault him at all. We will definitely be back! 👍🏻
