Very good haddock & chips. You can sit and eat them by the river.

Beautiful fish and chips! Perfectly cooked and not greasy. Lovely moist and flaky fresh fish. Nice crispy batter on the cod and chips cooked perfectly. I got the Lunchtime Special which is great value. Thank you Pendra’s.

Good experience, food cooked fresh, more expensive then neighbouring chippy’s about £2-3 more, but it’s still good value in my opinion, would gladly return.

Had 3 portions of chips, all brown & burnt. Two cod and chips- again chips burnt and cod small and thin with limp greasy batter.

Ordered cod and chips from here this evening. The fish batter had a burnt taste to it although not burnt or over cooked suggesting the oil it was cooked in is spoiled. Portion sizes were good. Didn't pay a lot of attention to the price I notice others have commented on. Pleasent service with a smile, just disappointed with the food this evening.

The fish is really very nice. However it was quite expensive and the chips were quite average.

Nice lady behind the counter. Very expensive. Chips were pale soggy, needed more cooking. Batter on the fish was tasty but the fish inside was disappointing and flavourless. Being a Cornish boy, I know my fish n chips and this left a lot to be desired. Very nice lady behind the counter though. She’s a keeper.

Last Friday I had fish & chips 🍟 from a shop in Oswestry, supposedly the best 🐟 & chip 🍟 shop in the county 😋 Pendra's are far superior 😝😛👍🍟🐟❤️

Oh what a shame it used to be so good. It was greasy the fish was over cooked and the chips stuck to the paper, not very nice at all.

Staff nice enough, but very expensive £11.40 for Haddock and chips. Food was worse - chips soggy and not cooked and fish batter was so so thick. One of the worst fish and chips I’ve had in years unfortunately

Friendly service and food has been good when I have been in there.

Hit and miss with the crispness of the batter on the cod. We've had very good, good and on this occasion, soggy, which surprised me as it was fresh cooked. Far too many chips on the smallest portion.

Our regular chip shop. They do a lovely fish cakes and cod roe, as hubby likes them. Sometimes he'll have fish. Fresh battered fish and fresh crispy chippy's, is always a thumbs up. Also, pea fritter's nice, crispy and fresh. We don't use our town chippy, cos their foods not as good as Pendra's. It's worth going for good chippy shop, out of town.

Great service, super chipshop food

Probably the best chip shop around, we travel from Ashcott for the chips. Hake very good and portions very generous.

Expensive, large cod spoilt by rubbish oily batter, will not use again.

Perfectly cooked lovely piece of fish and really nice chips, not too soggy, the batter on the fish was great too crispy and tasty but didn't overpower the fish.

2/06/2021. Just had Cod and Chips from here, absolutely awful, the chips were like soggy scraps and the batter on the fish was greasy. Not impressed by the quality of the food and certainly not Impressed with the price. Won't be visiting again.

Been using Pendras a long time. Even before it's been taken over. Not too bad at first, but last 3 weeks awful. Phone the order and time given. Get there and have to wait. Chips soggy and fish not good. Cod bites twice but couldnt eat them. Fish last time. Didnt eat it. Tonight pre ordered had to wait. Sausages were cold . Chips just full of oil and mushy . In future will be driving even further to Somerton to Tony's. At least we know we will get brilliant cooked to order fish and chips. Wont be going to Pendras again. Lastly listening to the people in the queue. Noone was happy with the way they had to wait even after pre ordering. Staff looked different as well. And fryer needs lessons on frying.

Very disappointed tonight 230421. Tried to ring to pre-order as we usually do but the phone rang & rang for well over 10 mins on 3 occasions & no one answered! When we got there the queue was about 10 people long with probably the same amount of people having ordered & waiting! We decided to got to Tony’s at Somerton & have now found our nee local fish & chip shop! The fish was large & very tasty, nice chips & a similar price. Sorry Pendra’s but had you answered the phone, this wouldn’t have happened!

Extremely bad!!! Not only did they forget some of our order, the greasy fish was all put into one wrap where the oil was seeping through the double layer wrap it was also stone cold and stuck together, I will NOT be visiting again as the last 3 times I've been it has been terible

Been about 8 times. Always ordered cod and chips. On 2 of those times I've got home only to discover they've given me haddock. Really annoying. Not going again I don't think.

Had a bad experience last evening. Ordered by phone as recommended, 15 mins wait. Husband went to collect. Order not ready so invited to wait in shop. One other customer waiting. Then a woman with two children came in to order, except one wasn’t her child but another customer, no social distancing at all. So there were now 5 people in the shop waiting. At this point my husband went to wait outside! We won’t be using you again! You specified when re opening that you would take orders by phone and call people into the shop when ready. There seemed to be no organisation and blatant disregard for safety. If you ask people to order by phone then honour the order, not make them wait in an over crowded shop!

Popped in a few times and it's been wonderful! It's lovely to see that the new owners have settled in well. The food is good, not greasy or fatty and fresh. They're very attentive too and the lady at the front even put salt and vinegar on both my fish and chips, wrapped together, separately. Cheesy chips are delicious and the batter holds up. All in all, they're just as good, if not better, than the previous owners!

Having recently moved to the area it was so lovely to have found such a nice chip shop. Waited a little bit but if it's cooked fresh then you should expect that. The food was spot on if anything I was just gutted I didn't order a larger meal.

I love these chips, they're much better than Somerton and Martock. Only issue is they don't always cook very quickly and get their orders mixed up.

UsyAlways very welcoming, polite, friendly. But always busy. Nice chips freshly cooked. Nice range of hot and cold drinks. Has since changed management. The fish is unfortunately now very fatty.

Great food and friendly staff. Easy access and covers most food products expected of a fish and chip fast food service. Canned and bottled drinks available along with a selection of condiments to buy. Love it.

Fantastic tasty fish (always order Haddock) and the chips are always cooked well and not oily like some other traditional fish and chip shops.The staff are friendly too.
