Absolutely disgusting spare ribs didn't look or taste like ribs. I had bbq and hubby had thai. At least the dry ribs resembled ribs. No meat just a disgusting coating not even sure what it was.

Quite possibly the rudest people in Pembroke. Don't go there. China Garden in nearby Pembroke Dock has much better food and the family that own it are the salt of the earth.

8 different dishes ordered and they were either dripping in oil or like mashed up dog food. There were no up sides to this meal.

We are home cooks who love a great Chinese and we have used this takeaway for authentic dishes for 8 years. The negative reviews really get to us. Try the special fried rice, beef & black bean, shrimp chow mien, kung po chilli duck, sweet & sour pork. If you want fresh, consistently good Chinese food you will love it. It has never been greasy or bad, so we felt we just had to support and leave a positive review. Our suggestion is that if you like cheap chips and curry sauce just go to a local chip takeaway! Sorry to be frank but FACT ;-)

Not a very nice place all in all, waiting area could do with a good clean. We ordered a meal which consisted of 1 chicken curry (no rice), which was like dishwater, tasteless and bland but plenty of squared diced chicken in, 1 bag undercooked soggy chips yuk, 1 special chow Mein, all noodles very little meat but was ok! , and 6 spare ribs dry yuk yuk yuk. they were full of grease, they were deep fried probably same chip fat cause that’s all you could taste, over cooked and just dripping with oil, managed to try it but threw it away but that’s £32 .25 that little lot cost us, . I rang to complain, owner Very was very abrupt! Didn’t listen, had to keep telling her to listen, and rude, eventually she said I will give you credit next time you come in. Say your name, . Put the phone down. After thought we decided we were NEVER going to eat there again due to the rudeness of the owner and the food so next day we took the ribs back when they opened at 5pm, Well what can I say the owner again ver short and abrupt asking what do you want, trying to be very over powering, the chef kept popping his head out of the door, hubby asked for a refund !! Well omg iWe Even took pictures to show her the mess in a bag and oil on my hands, she didn’t want to know, justhow many ribs in bag, hubby said 4 left we threw the other 2 away ! She would only refund for the 4, and only gave us £11 back from working it out in the menu should have been £12.40 they were £3.10 each Then she said she has given them to us cheaper 😂😂 cause we had 6 We will never be returning here again would rather cook my own Chinese,

So because The Golden Park was closed we decided to order from The Pembroke Carvery, although we’d heard mixed reviews. As we entered I noticed how dirty the waiting area/ordering counter was but thought hey ho as it was constantly busy we ordered regardless. The seaweed was black & burnt so we couldn’t even eat it (see photo) The smoked chicken was just not smoked Salt & chilli ribs were tough & dry & again inedible- just yuk. Sweet & sour chicken balls some were ok but others were tough & chewy. However, the special chow mein, egg fried rice & satay beef were acceptable but not as nice as elsewhere. We will definitely not be returning & £38 down the drain.

The chips was undercooked the chicken did not look like chicken the price was cheap but I feel sick won’t be going back

Nice Chinese Curry, but very concerned about dilapidated decor...mould on walls, windowsills etc. Needs a deep clean.

This our new go-to Chinese in the area. We've been through them all and have settled on coming here everytime as we are local . The food is always superb and they're super friendly too!

Normally order here every couple of weeks as we are local ordered a special fried rice nothing but chicken in it and pancake rolls was full of grease and king prawn balls were over cooked and soggy come.on sort yourselfs out lady behind counter very stand offish

Well what can I say. Organisation absolutely terrible. Ordered a takeaway for 7pm had to stand outside in -1 degrees for 1hour and 20 mins. There would appear to be no organisation to stagger the take away orders. No social distancing in the queue of at least 20 people. Also asking you to pay cash for your orders when it is far Better to use a contactless card transaction in a pandemic. I am that angry that I will be discussing the issue with the local authority as their was no social distancing or track and trace. I will also be phoning to speak to management for a full explanation. Absolute shambles will not be using this take away again.

Ridiculous ordered our food to collect at 7pm we had to wait outside a hour in the freezing cold waiting until 8pm to receive it as their was a huge queue of people also waiting to collect absolutely ridiculous!!

Absolutely terrible - booked for 7:00 p.m for New Years eve takeaway . Arrived @ 6.55 p.m with about 40 people queuing in front of me ! Waited till 8 in the wind & freezing cold conditions. Clearly they had taken loads of bookings and could not cope and were cooking as the people entered the takeaway. Then you had people pushing the que and getting served . Social distancing did nit exist . I left after an hour and 15 without my takeaway - what a joke .

Best Chinese around. Never been before but OMG it was good. The duck with mushroom was by far the best Ive ever had.

Absolute terrible don’t waste your money, ordered special fried rice, a tub of curry sauce and salt and chilly chicken. Was all stale and over cooked you’d think they gave us the left overs.

I can’t fault this place, probably now my 4th takeaway and I’m still really impressed. The food is delicious, fresh and plentiful. Set meal for 2 easily enough for 3 so good value.

Enjoyed our visit here on a windy Saturday evening. Broad selection catering for a wide variety of tastes. Food was tasty and arrived promptly.

Have eaten here some years earlier and enjoyed it. My wife is now in a wheelchair so we were pleased to see a ramp outside. However, inside there is a barrier (fence) between the entrance and the restaurant, and it took a lot of work manoeuvring the wheelchair to gain access. No help was offered by the staff. The food was mostly good and plentiful and they were happy to change one dish for us when we ordered a set meal. However, they seem to have used inexperienced and untrained waitresses as it was out of the holiday season. My wife had to ask for a steak knife as her gammon resisted all attempts to cut it with an ordinary knife. I asked if Guinness was available and the waitress had to ask. Her colleague said Boddingtons was on tap. I asked if this was a stout and the waitresses had no idea what a stout was! Despite being almost the only ones in the restaurant, we were left alone long after we finished our food and had to ask for service, also needing to ask for the table to be cleared to make room for our coffees. One of our party commented on the waitresses audibly using Snapchat continuously, but this was ignored. My nephew asked for an americano and again the waitress had no idea what it was, but came back and said they did not do it. We asked what was available instead and she again had to ask. The coffee menu was brought from another table and my nephew instructed the waitress on how to convert an espresso (which was available) into an americano. When I paid the bill, I was asked if everything had been OK. I replied that the food was good but the service was terrible. She thought I was joking.

Visited Friday evening 7 ish place was dead but we were hungry. A lovely young waitress told us ķere and to be honest not the cleanest. The whole place was dated but the food was excellent. Service was awful with the exception of when the young girl attended to us for the rest of the time the staff sat behind the counter on mobile phones .. would I go back yes for a take away.

Stopped here for a Chinese dinner!Lacks atmosphere and very ordinary surroundings!Paper table clothes do not inspire and a very mucky condiment tray at opening time was not good! Waitress was smiley, but not so the lady behind the counter!Food was okay! But have had a lot better locally! Dishes seemed a bit thin and runny!Okay for a quick meal! Would I go back? Probably not!

Place was nice, although wasn't to pleased with the paper table clothes, food was nice and piping hot, and the service was good would have been nice to be offered chopsticks but otherwise was good

We dropped in at 8pm on Thursday to find the place virtually empty, used the toilets and would have left if we weren’t so hungry! The toilets were dark (no lights) and full of cobwebs. The menu was massive although the kids choices were limited to fish fingers, burger and sausages. The service was friendly and quick and the food delicious so we were glad we stayed.

We enjoyed a Chinese take away from Pembroke Carvery twice during our summer holiday. (I can’t comment on the eat-in restaurant.)We had a long wait for a set menu for 4 (on a Sunday evening - bank holiday weekend) but it was worth the wait as the food seemed freshly cooked and was very tasty. However on our second visit (Friday evening) the food was ready within 15 minutes and was again very tasty. I would recommend this if you’re looking for a Chinese take away in the local area (minimum card payment is £5).

ordered barbecue spare ribs...very tough..meat did not fall off the bone...and the sauce was not really barbecue..but spicy sour.....obviously brought in pork ribs,with a sauce poured on top....Dissapointing.....

Ah Sammy's place never lets you down for standard of service and tasty Euro-Chinese cuisine. Always a welcome here for parties large or small

Stale chips, Tasteless Chow Mein and I was given Gravy instead of BBQ sauce. Usually this place was ok on previous visits won’t be returning on the basis of this visit total waste of money!

I believe the name of this place is a bit of an historic throwback, it reflects the history of the building rather than the current situation, which is that this place is an excellent Chinese restaurant. They also have traditional British food, but when the Chinese is so good, why would you want to order it?

We found the food to be nice but the whole place was freezing cold, no heating on we sat with our coats on !

Very poor service, half the items on menu not available, waited over an hour for food to come, despite being only ones in restaurant. Food was cold, very poor quality. Left with out eating. Would not come back again. Would not recommend. Avoid this place.

Had 2 take away from here on a recent trip to Pembroke with the family, both times the food was of excellent standard and prepared within an adequate time. I would recommend this as the top chinese in Pembroke to try first.

Worst meal I have ever had. Travelled 10 miles thought it was a carvery place .I love Chinese.had banquet B bland even dog would not eat it. Ribs were deep fried rock hard

We visit every year when we’re down on holiday to pick up a take away. It’s always great quality. No different this year. You can always tell a good Chinese take away by how busy it is and this place is always busy. We always call through to order now as it’s quicker. The people are lovely too! We would recommend. It’s the best Chinese take away in the area.

Food here is now a lot worse, I'm guessing the new owner doesn't know what he/she is doing! The food is very salty, over cooked and greasy which is so upsetting as we have to throw it all away. Definitely never again and will be using Golden Park Chinese instead

After searching for the nearest Toby Carvery on the World Wide Web, I came across this Pembroke Carvery. I phoned to make a reservation. There was no obvious accent to suggest it was a Chinese restaurant.

I recently attended a friend's birthday party of approx 20 people. There was a huge choice of meals both traditional pub grub and chinese dishes. We had a variety of different dishes and service was polite and efficient. The food was lovely, nicely cooked and large portions. The prices were good too. The restaurant is welcoming and has a great atmosphere. There is also a takeaway adjacent to it which has a lot of choice too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as one to visit.

This location by established Chinese is a local favourite that stands tall against its competitors in town. Sit in or take away. Sit down area is a bit tired but it is functional and the staff are friendly. I had the sizzling beef.....yum

early 2017 meals just passable . halfway thro 2017 ho dear chicken chow mien something missing NO CHICKEN JUST FLAVOURED NOODLES. hong kong style sour n sour chicken alas NO CHICKEN JUST BATTER . Never again will i go there or have takeaway . Saw Sammy in Tesco buying all the reduced stuff enough for me and said. Respect your stmach go elsewhere .

Having been a loyal customer ( albeit takeaway mostly) for so many years, tonight, again, was disappointing ... The last few times, the starter BBQ spare ribs have been dry, but tonight was a joke, it was burned and shrivelled and most of it was fat and grizzly, and the spring roll looked like it had been over fried on the outside, but it was bearly warm on the inside !! We work hard to afford our treats, but, sorry Sam, something is going amiss, of late, even my son and my parents have stopped using you, due to similar issues. Never thought I'd be so disappointed to have to write this ...

I have eaten here before, but years ago. I needed food, so thought I'd try again. We ate early so we were the only people in the restaurant. The takeaway was busy. The waitress was nice and we were served quite quickly. The Chinese food was ok, not the best I'd had. The sisling duck, tasted frozen not pleasant. My Kung Po chicken was ok.

Firstly, the Pembroke Carvery is not a carvery.

Very, very poor, don,t bother if you are gluten free, save youre money.Deep fried Chilli and garlic ribs, lumps of bone and gristle deep fried, or lemon chicken very sweet and sickly, that’s you’re gluten free choice.

It's a takeaway. It's a carvery. It's also a Chinese restaurant and it does its food well.

By all accounts this takeaway serves good food. Unfortunately I have to say that food I got was not the best I’ve had. The battered chicken balls were a little too greasy for my liking and they were a little doughy. The murky looking sweet and sour sauce tasted very different to what I expected sweet and sour sauce to take like. Not bad just not what I was expecting.

My husband and i went to Pembroke carvery for a meal.... walked in expecting a carvery lol what a funny little place..no sign of a carvery but we can't fault the food or the service. There was a Chinese kitchen and an English kitchen. My husband had a medium cooked rib eye steak with chips peas mushroom and onion rings. He said the steak was cooked to perfection and enjoyed every bit of the meal. I myself had sweet and sour chicken balls with egg fried rice and chips..every mouthful delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the chinese takeaway service was pretty much constant for little over an hour that we were there. Reasonably priced quirky little place

Went here when we were in Lamphey for a few days, I had the chicken and sweetcorn soup which was lovely followed by a special curry which was good, my husband had the lamb in ginger which he said was very good, nice surroundings, and a lovely out look of the park opposite.

We called in for a meal after a day out. We ordered various items off the Chinese menu, because we had read a couple of the reviews and they said the best Chinese in Wales. Don't know where these people have eaten Chinese food before but the haven't been to North Wales. We ordered the mixed starter, big mistake. The ribs were like eating shoe leather, the spring rolls were the worst we have ever eaten. The prawn toast was just over deep fat fried bread. The main meal was marginally better. The two ladies serving were very nice, but they were over worked so there was a lot of waiting around. I would not recommend this restaurant.

The first takeaway was soooo good but this time it was an oh so boring average. The ribs were lacking decent meat and even the spring rolls had lost their spring. So sadly having found what I thought was an amazing chinese I am left feeling another average eating place.

Had a fantastic Chinese meal at the reasturant food was hot the service was good a friendly waitress would definitely recommend this place it also do English food and Sunday lunches it has a Chinese takeaway next door reasonably priced

My husband collected a takeaway and it truly was exceptional. The pancake roll was superb not to mention the chow mein and fried rice. Simple dishes but all too often they are so badly cooked. Mixed reviews on this place but I see as I find so to speak and in this case it was a 10 out of 10.

Nothing special chinese food. It is also quite fat and salty. The staff is nice. The restaurant offers both English as well as Chinese dishes, so that could be a reason. We visited the far East more than once and it comes nowhere near that taste.

Went for a family meal out in the evening, the staff worked hard to sort out the food for all 9 of us at the same time. Although it also offers English food, we all just ate main courses from the Chinese menu. The quality of the food on the whole was good, the lemon chicken being especially tasty- really crispy and not in the slightest bit greasy. Would really recommend it! The only downside was that the interior needs redecorating and was slightly cold. Beef dish was a disappointment.

Service was good and friendly. As a vegetarian I was pleased to find a good variety of suitable dishes. Wife and kids not veggie, and they were happy too. We only had Chinese food (never understood the logic of going to a Chinese and criticizing the steak and chips), and it was very good. I would have liked a bit more chilli in the black bean, but it was still very good.

If you love Chinese food, you should not go any where else!! The food here is outstanding. The prices are great. Eat in or take away you will not be disappointed. You get so much quality meat in every meal.

Visited on 15 Sept. Menu typical Chinese / Cantonrse with English options. Every fish my wife and I tried was too salty. Service pleasant but slow. Would not return.

Eat in or visit the take away. Good quality fast serving Chinese food. The restaurant is atmospheric with a Chinese theme. Plenty of choice and all served piping hot. Really nice to pop in and have a meal. Lots of parking spaces

We were new in town and passing through on our way to Sint Davids, the main reason for passing through was Pembroke Castle, upon seeing signs for a Castle carpark we pulled in and parked our car. From the carpark we spotted “Pembroke Carvery”, my wife and I both fancied some lunch before going to the castle. Sadly “Pembroke carvery” was not serving carvery, “how about Sunday Roast” my wife asked. “Yes we can do Sunday Roast”. Great, we sat down preparing for a nice Sunday Roast. Sadly, this soon turned into disappointment, the Chef may be good with oriental food, I don’t know as I didn’t try this, they certainly have no idea how to prepare a Sunday Roast. Boiled potatoes instead of “roast “potatoes, the meat was as though as old booths and the whole meal covered in salty gravy instead of a jug, one good point the carrots were fine.Would I recommend this restaurant, I’m afraid based on my first and last experience most definitely not. When we complained about the meal the waitress yelled at the Chef “Customer complained, meet too tough. (Could have been a comedy series from Torquay). A faint apology but no reduction in the cost of the mail.Oh yes, beware when you go to the men’s toilet as there is no lock on the door, you might find yourself being caught with your pants down.

We went to Pembroke carvery and had Chinese food, the owners were very attentive to us and the food was excellent. We would definitely return.

Apart from the rather indifferent service, my mother - who were ravenous - ordered sweet & sour chicken (mine was Honkong style, and my mother ordered the version in batter). My mother's meal was edible, but the chicken in my 'Honkong style' sweet & sour dish was so hard I could barely get a fork (or a chopstick) into it, so I ended up eating my mum's dish. I suspect the chicken pieces were deep frozen, then fried. The sauces were somewhat glutinous (certainly not home-made), and the presentation rather lacklustre. I would not return.

we looked everywhere in pembroke and alot of things close early and seen as we had travelled 6 hours we needed something nice and quick! we had sweet and sour chicken cantonese style and it was so nice! service was quick and friendly couldnt fault it and the chips were great!

Me and my partner ordered from here on our first day in Pembroke. I had chicken and cashew nuts and special friend rice which was really tasty and my partner had vegetable curry and egg fried rice which she said was okay but wondered if the veg had been microwaved.

Visited on a work meal, there was a party of over 30 of us and we had a Chinese buffet. It consisted on rice and 3/4 other Chinese main dishes. Not what I fully expected from a buffet. No other Chinese foods such as chow mein etc. The Chinese food that we was provided with was very nice indeed. Not sure about the English side of food. But the burger came without a bun.Not sure if I would visit again.

Good Chinese very tasty , pleasant staff I definitely would recommend beef satay sizzler it was fantastic and good thing with this restaurant,you don't always have to book,and all so they do take always .

After the tour of the nearby castle.We went for a Sunday dinner.They serve Chinese food and dishes of English.We ordered a roast beef for us and for the children checken nuggets.The food was quite tasty.Service was very nice.Recommend

Me and my family visit here frequently for birthdays, special occasions etc and it never fails to disappointment us! There is a lovely selection of food, the portions are huge, the staff are friendly and are very attentive. They ask us many times if we want anymore drinks, check to see if our plates need clearing at any point, or empty glasses! Affordable for a meal! Love it!

Whilst this place does reasonable Chinese food and fairly good steaks the Sunday lunch is terrible. There is no carvery and your Sunday lunch comes ready plated. The worst Sunday lunch in the area.

We've been visitig the Pembroke Carvery for around 20 years, every holiday in Pembrokeshire and it never fails to be good. The food is very good quality and the portions are generous. The staff are extremely helpful and we enjoy it every time!

No carvery in sight.... When we visited, the takeaway seemed to be doing brisk business but we were in the restaurant which was fairly quiet. The three adults in the party ordered Chinese and the two children chose the Burger and Lasagne, these were average at best but there was plenty there and did come with fresh veg. The Chinese food was also average quality but quantity was good. For what it is offering, it is overpriced.However, this place is screaming out for Gordon Ramsey to come in, swear a lot, then take it out of 1985 and into 2015. Zero atmosphere and the décor is clean but very dated. If this place went for the buffet style Chinese with much less choice but better quality, it would be a gold mine. It has the space and the location is excellent with the car park opposite.

Been using Pembroke Carvery for as long as I can remember and never had a bad meal or bad service, it's always been very good on all accounts.

We came her as a party of 4 adults and 2 children. The service was terrible even though we were the only people in the restaraunt. The waitress spent more time looking at her mobile phone. The starters were given out, we had to ask for plates to eat them from which were given reluctantly. The food was ok. Overall, really dissapointed and would not return, especially as there are so many other places to eat within a stones throw where you are made to feel as if your custom is welcome.

We were hungrily driving around town, looking for a place to fill our tummies when we chanced upon Pembroke Carvery.Mr Sammy, an ex-Hong Konger who settled in Wales 35 years ago, owns this place and takes orders too!We spoke a little English and Chinese to him (should have spoken Cantonese) and marvelled at the adjacent school's children's pictures on the wall.打包-ed (Took away) his food and thought it was not too bad. Authentic Chinese/ Hong Kong/ Asian style.They even had a Singaporean dish!

We had been out all day on a drab summers day in Pembrokeshire and didn't want to cook our tea so asked my wife and daughter "do you fancy a Chinese? ". The Pembroke Carvery is a place we visit infrequently but it's the only Chinese we know. Every time we go I wonder why we've come back again. The food is ok, the staff are lovely but the restaurant is awful. Sticky carpet dirty and old not nice. Stick to the take a way, it's alot cheaper and very nice.

Should be renamed Pembroke Chinese. No sign of a carvery. This place had been recommended to us but we were disappointed - perhaps it has changed hands recently? Food was ok, service not great and thought that it was expensive. Had to ask for plates for our starters and received two hand wipes to share between 6!

This restaurant was recommended by my son who lives locally and enjoys their takeaways so we thought we'd try eating in. We weren't disappointed. An excellent range of dishes served by great waiting staff. Large portions, the leftovers of which we were asked if we wanted to take home.

My boyfriend and I poppedin as we were driving through the town . We ordered sunday dinner . Pale dry disgusting roast potatoes . Frozen veg . Gravy granules . And beef so chewy tough badly cooked we couldn't eat it . Never will i set foot in here again . Very dated inside . Avoid the place !!!

we have takeways from here and there good .we ate in and what a load of crap you get 1/2 the amount and pay double for it. the place is still the same as when i went there as a child 30 years ago and it looks like no one has cleaned since then .what worrys me is if the place tht people can see is that dirty whats the kitchen like will never go again .

Was directed here from a local pub as looking for food on a Sunday but too late at 2.35pm! Walked in expecting carvery and walked back out as obviously Chinese!! Looked round for carvery but realised this was it. Went back in and ordered 2 sizzling Chinese dishes both were gorgeous and generous portions of noodles and rice too. They did serve a plated dinner with boiled potatoes but glad we chose what we did

Food is sub standard, bland and no taste. Staff were to busy gossiping behind counter and staring at customers while they are eating. Very rude and seemed dis interested in customers. Roast dinner comes with chips!!! If you can avoid, AVOID!!!

Have to say as I find and our takeaway was tasty and delicious.The restaurant looked very quiet but a lot of locals were coming in to pick up takeaways that the owner obviously knew which as as holiday maker is as great sign. Recommended

Sam tailored the chinese food to our spicy taste ! Very please and great value. We can be quite demanding of our Chinese food and Sam was able to tailor each dish to our preferences.

The food in this chineese restaurant is ok. Nothing about it stands out, neither is it shockingly bad. Just very ordinary.The big problem is the atmosphere. It is really not what you would expect of this genre. Rather reminded me of a holiday camp in the nineties.

Misleading is an understatement. The exterior looked promising but unfortunately looks can deceive. The waitress was polite but that is the only positive thing I can say. One of our party ordered gammon steak but this arrived chargrilled and inedible. This was changed to scampi which was at least edible. Another ordered the burger, this arrived with a crunchy bun! (Stale or overheated in a microwave?) Will not be returning and advisd others not to bother.

I have been here a lot of times over the years and have never been disappointed with the standard of food. (takeaway only). Just ring the order through and pick up the food 10/15minutes later. Always very tasty. My own favourite is the special curry with egg fried rice. Top Class.

Me and my husband arrived at the restaurant unsure whether we needed to book a table. The waitress looked at us as if we were scum and just said "Yes?" very abruptly. She then said to take a seat at the bar where there were only 2 stools available and they were already taken. After 15 minutes we were asked what we would like to drink. We both ordered alcohol and the waitress was unable to serve us but said she would get someone else to "sort you out". We were then lead to our table which was in a corner by a storeroom with all the dirty dishes from that evening stacked next to us. After another 15 minutes of waiting we still wasn't served our drinks so we politely walked out!!!! Looks can be very deceiving of this place.

We visited Pembroke Carvery in Pembroke last week for my birthday. It is actually a Chinese restaurant which also serves English food! The service is excellent, very prompt and although there happened to be a party of 12 people in that evening we were served very promptly by a very pleasant waitress. Or Chinese meal was excellent and delicious and a very good sized portion. We have visited many times and always have been really pleased with the quality of the food and excellent service and would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant to everyone.
