Pellizco in Sheffield

Popped into Pelizco recently to check out their updated menu, and I’ve got to say - it’s improved from previously. They’ve added a few new dishes, and overall, the experience was a good one. The atmosphere was buzzing, the service was friendly and attentive, and the cocktails were pretty good.. The staff looked after us and wanted to make sure we had the best time, which was a big plus. Food-wise, there were some real highlights. The fish tacos were tasty, and the desserts were a winner -especially the homemade ice cream, sorbet, and the special dessert. That said, many of the dishes were a bit on the salty side, and the duck was a little dry. Nothing disastrous, just a few teething issues that I’m sure they’ll iron out as they settle into the new menu. With a few tweaks - toning down the salt, refining a couple of dishes - Pelizco could easily push towards a 5-star experience. Looking forward to seeing how things develop!

Went for Taco Tuesday - margs and food were outstanding! I feel they've definitely gotten better over time since I last visited (a year or 2 ago)

Empty restaurant but been told don’t take any walk-ins. Update: sadly I didn’t have the screenshot. After been resided seating, I checked on the reservation on the website after I left at around 16:15, I was able to booking in at 16:30, 16:45 and 17:00 slot. So I would you to consider your team members altitudes and ur customer service. Update2: u have the right to turn the customer away, I also have the right to say my honest experience. As the staff didn’t apologise and didn’t explain the situation. I understand u trying to speak up for ur restaurant and staff but I wouldn’t lie about my experience. I personally worked in hospitality years myself so i wouldn’t be harsh on anyone if u treats the customer right… anyways that is. Blame/bully the customer on internet also wouldn’t be a good with to defend yourself! Update3: u turn customer away. U should at least apologise as u turning them away for not able to accommodate customers? That is basic manner. Why is that hard to understand? I give one start review for the service (for both I experienced in store and online) but I didn’t give rating for the Food and atmosphere so I don’t think that invalid and dishonest…….

This is a regular go to for me and so so many of my friends. The foods is exceptional, always seasoned well and always a little bit different to your average Mexican joint. The margs... Don't get me started, they're the best in the city, the specials are always perfectly balanced and extremely morish 🤤😅 Lastly, the service is great, everyone who works there cares about their customers and are extremely polite and friendly. Always recommend this place to anyone 🤍😍

We’ve visited multiple times…great staff and service, and the food is consistently delicious…great for gluten free too, which is how I found this place. Can’t recommend enough! Oooh and the cocktails are incredible too!

Quickly becoming my favourite place. After having a fab meal on a Saturday evening, I had to come back for taco Tuesday as I was still dreaming of the halloumi tacos. Yet again everything perfect , and even better that it was 3 for 2 on tacos! Also took advantage of the 2 for 12 spicy margs- delicious! Our waitress remembered us from the previous visit and welcomed us back, which was a lovely touch considering it had been a few weeks. Can't fault this place on value, flavour or atmosphere.

As a Mexican I found the food really good. Really tasty and authentic. The birria tacos were really good and the churros were amazing. I ordered Padron Pepers and they were good, but they seemed small for me for the price. Good Latin music in the background also gives it a good atmosphere.

We love this place. We started getting Pellizco when it was a catering van in Dyson Place in 2020. The chicken burger was INSANE! We talked about it loads and since it opened we come all the time. It’s authentic, made with love and the chefs have good crack. The mole salsa is to die for, the margs are 10/10 and i always look forward to the specials. You have to book to be sure to get a table. Ive never been and it not be packed.

Superb restaurant! The food is delicious, the margaritas are to die for and the service is brilliant. We had a fantastic anniversary meal there, it's just such a vibe. Will definitely be back!

Amazing tacos and the best margs in Sheffield. Really good meat and veggie options, and masa is used so also GF. A fabulous place to catch up with pals or for a fun date night. The team are wonderful and welcoming too.

Food is always so flavoursome and service very friendly. Love that they change the menu to offer specials to keep things exciting and keep you coming back time and time again! Thanks for being such a great independent!

A fantastic restaurant with friendly helpful staff, a great atmosphere and absolutely amazing food! We weren't sure how much to order but were advised by the friendly waitress. In the end we ordered 4 tapas plates and 2 tacos between 2 of us and we're very full when we were done. We also had 3 margaritas which were delicious. Can't recommend Pellizco enough. We will be returning.

Thanks for wasting our time and money. Google says you were open on a Sunday, then I double checked your website before travelling the 40 minutes drive from Barnsley, your website says you are open on a Sunday so we set off specifically to eat in your restaurant but when we arrived it says 'closed on Sunday' thanks for that, we won't bother again. 😡

After months of hearing of pellizco recommendations I booked a table for the Taco Tuesday night. It exceeded all of the rave reviews I heard! The Birria quesadillas deserve an honourable mention. I can’t wait to revist!

Not just any Tuesday, it's Taco Tuesday in this fabulous hidden gem. Great location. Delicious food and cocktails. Friendly staff.

Came on a whim as we fancied tacos. So glad we did. The place was warm and had a nice atmosphere. Started with a margarita which was delicious. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. We did wait a while to order as the waitress thought someone else had taken our order but no big deal as it came out really quickly once we ordered. We started with the tortillas and salsa which was the perfect start. The halloumi taco was our highlight and we weren't going to even order that initially. It was everything I wanted and more from a taco. We ordered 2 different quesadillas, 2 tacos, Padron peppers and the potatoes. All delicious and accommodating to the nut allergy on our table. Really nice glass of wine and a damm lemon and the bill came to £80, which felt pretty reasonable. Can't wait to come again! My one bit of feedback was that the toilet waste paper bin should not be over flowing as there were plenty of staff and it wasn't very busy.

Fab spot for really great, authentic Mexican food, fully recommend the Taco Tuesday offers, especially with 1-2 friends so you can try the full variety of flavours :) margaritas always hit the spot, vibe of the restaurant itself is super cozy and relaxed - even when busy, and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable!

Good but could be better. Table not ready until 7.50 instead of 7.30 so we were squeezed on a very small one for a drink, Server good but forgot a few things like wine and water. He did stay late for us though. Very expensive and two dishes returned-As not as described (battered not expected) and not cooked. (Churros-raw) delicious otherwise but very expensive for this experience. Needed more staff.

The gem of Sheffield! Tacos are delicious and fresh with such a great selection of fillings! Also wonderful gluten free churros - my partner is coeliac so this was the first time he has ever seen GF churros! Fantastic service and atmosphere - just great all round dining experience! Came here for a quick dinner last month, the food was great, the cocktails as well. I personally reccomend the fish tacos and the guacamole, the al pastor was also really good. I finished my meal with a Mexican style espresso martini which I enjoyrf.

Came six months ago and it was great but last night was quite disappointing. Guacamole was blended rather than mashed with very few chips. Tacos were ok but something felt different from our first visit. Hopefully just a bad night.

Lovely place, taking Mexican small plates to other level. Started with some good margaritas. Excellent tacos, proper homemade tortilla chips, and the salsa macha: best salsa I’ve ever tasted. Habanero chicken perfectly cooked and the flight of mezcals was a revelation. Black sesame ice cream was a perfect way to top it off. And great service too. 👏

Unfortunately it’s just bang average Mexican food, which is very expensive. Was really looking forward to this meal with my partner and from the tacos, to the salsa and antijotos, the food was really bland. Service good, drinks nice, and the people there lovely but just in shock at spending £90 for 2 people and having such an underwhelming meal. The food is just missing the spice and zing you would expect from a Mexican - especially at the price point for such small portions sizes. M

We went out for a family meal on a Thursday night. Fantastic atmosphere and really tasty food. Most of the dishes are gluten free. Our two coeliac children absolutely loved the gluten free churros! We will definitely be returning.

Hoo-wee! These folks can make a Taco! Well, actually they can make a Quesabirria! The Tacos are soft shell which isn't particularly to my taste; but even then they still made it super flippin' tasty, that Chiken Tinga *chefs kiss*! But the real beauty, the Beef Quesabirria! Melted cheese. Musky brisket. Mouth-watering-umami-pleasing crunch on the fried crispy greasy goodness of that shell! Moochos grassyarse amigos! The staff were lovely, the location is great and the food is bangin'. 10/10 would come back for more!

Booked on a complete whim, a fantastic dining experience. The food was the best Mexican food I've ever had, and the service from Jess was amazing. Such a wonderful atmosphere and the portion sizes were deceptively large! We will definitely be back

Visited Pellizco as a couple on a Thursday night after having a wander to find somewhere for an early evening meal. Stumbled across this place and we were left feeling very smug with ourselves! The vibe in here is great, staff are very friendly and welcoming and the decor is nice and comfortable. We pieced together a few bits from the menu including Taco’s, Quesadillas, sticky chicken, fried potatoes and chorizo (which was especially amazing!) All of that washed down by a couple of margaritas followed by a white wine and a coke for the designated driver here… Everything and I do mean everything tasted fantastic and was delivered to the table nice and freshly made. Hard to find fault with anything about this place, we will definitely be back sometime soon. We paid £60 for all we had, which was very fair considering what we had and we had no complaints at all. A great find, go visit and you will not be disappointed.

The restaurant is charming - colorful, unique setting. Service was friendly, timely, sharing in conversation and answering questions about drinks and menu items. We were there on ‘Taco Tuesday’, and ordered a selection of margaritas, appetizers and tacos. The meal was delicious - flavorful, authentic tastes of Mexico. The lamb taco was exquisite. We will become regular customers.

We visited for Taco Tuesday and had a brilliant meal. We had guacamole, habenero hot honey chicken, Oaxacan style beans, along with Bajan halloumi, pork al Pastor and lamb barbacoa tacos. Great quality local ingredients and spiced perfectly. Especially loved the chicken which was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We didn't have alcohol but the Margheritas sounded lovely. Attentive and friendly service too.

Food was very yummy, almost everything on the menu is gluten free. Food was a bit slow to come out but we did get complimentary chips and dip for the inconvenience.

We arrived early for our reservation but we were seated with no fuss. The food was all amazing - special shout out for the pescado tacos! Loved the casual feel and the food being served as it was ready. The margaritas are sharp, salty, sour and a little bit deadly - go steady!! The staff were friendly and attentive. Food was painfully average, if you are charging 8 pound for broccoli, and 13 pound for two tacos at least make them worth it. I’ll save you time, if you have flour, water, and access to chicken and onion just attempt it at home. Veg looked like it was cut using a fence post, clumps of parsley and massive onions. “Just so you know our pork is cooked pink” is another way of saying our chefs are incapable; pink and undercooked are different. The place was poor, I understand it was a busy day, and we had no booking but we were sat next to an open door on a chilly night, with bar and service stations next to it. Stop cramming tables into restaurants for an extra couple covers please. The waitress handled dirty plates, cleaned tables, and then proceeded to help make cocktails from the other side of the bar, if you are going to be unhygienic, make it less obvious. Trying to clear plates and ask for bill without us having our whole order. Forgetting we asked for tap water when we sat down. The places reeks of inexperience and an owner who was ‘inspired’ after an all inclusive trip to Mexico. I will give some slack as we were asked how everything was and I reluctantly held my tongue, giving them no chance to rectify any issues, apologies.

Was really looking forward to eating here, but unfortunately the food was very average, and slightly overpriced. Staff, venue were great just not the food.

Been to Pellizco many times now and it’s always top tier. Great for vegetarian options and the cocktails are also very good.
