Acepto café con leche de 150 ml en Brighton. El tipi servido es algo que también acepto (obviamente debo haber necesitado mencionar de antemano que me gusta el café caliente). 50 para un café con leche tibia, miniatura es un poco rallado. ¡Pero para recibir un servicio aburrido - ingenioso uni - a nivel estudiantil, ' servicio que tiene un visible desprecio por usted, alguien que es demasiado importante para estar trabajando en una mera cafetería se ve obligado a tener que comunicarse con usted cuando podrían estar en casa leyendo Karl Marx! Paradójicamente parece demasiado importante para trabajar en un café, y demasiado soberbio para servir a gente normal. Pop por Pelicano después de dejar mi bicicleta en una tienda cercana. No estaba ocupado, pero tenía un blanco plano, estaba muy impresionado, al igual que uno de los mejores que he tenido recientemente. Personal feliz. Parece tener una buena selección de pasteles y café.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Everyone who comes here seems content and relaxed, which all stems from the super friendly team who make a latte look like a French impressionist painting! The coffee is mean as can be when you need it, but the cakes are not as good as they used to be...

Had a walk around the lanes decided to have a coffee because the Pelicano do a slow Brew the one were it's filtered through the paper they keep pouring hot water through the paper I can appreciate they are busy but waited about 15 minutes for one coffee at £3.60 each so waited outside for a bit then came back into the shop one of the girls behind the counter said sorry its not ready yet she said do you want to wait outside in the Sun ☀ 🤔 it's November and freezing cold lol anyway she came out 5 minutes later with my drink in a large cup straight away I new that was the wrong cup opened the lid and the coffee barely was half way up the cup very disappointed and won't be going back for £3.60 I expect a proper cup and the right one for the coffee it's to chaotic in the shop and to cold ❄ to sit outside most of the chairs and tables are actually on the road

If you enjoy little independent coffee shops and homemade cake, I'd recommend Pelicano. I had an oat latte and (a huge wedge of) carrot cake which was absolutely delicious. I was served by a young lady with red hair who was lovely too 😊

In these strapped for cash times a cafe break has to be considered and is fairly rare for me now. I personally want a little oasis in my day, away from work. The customers were all on laptops or having quiet conversations, the staff and friends however were so loud the whole cafe was dominated by their noise for most of the time I was there. Luckily I carry ear plugs, but even that couldn’t drown them out. The coffee was not very good and the cake stale and left a nasty taste in the mouth. Much like the whole experience.

I can’t fault the food or drink of this place. However when I see my partner stood at the order point with 3 members of staff behind the till ignoring him for about 5 minutes before serving him I have an issue. I mentioned It to my partner and he said that’s just the laid back vibe… I don’t care if they are getting paid to serve, then they should be serving .

After perusing all the shops, we came across this delightful cafe. It was very busy, but staff were friendly and engaging and we really enjoyed our visit. We had to laugh at the facilities which are down some fairly steep steps into the rear garden and you are a stone's throw away from folk sat enjoying their drinks !

Looked like a nice independent coffee shop. Needed a quick break so jumped in with my wife. Where to start? Asked for Decaff tea and told we only have herb tea. Not a big deal just had a breakfast tea. But surely in this day and age decaff tea is not a big ask. I know that mismatched crockery is a big deal to some, but a mug cracked on the lip is not a great look. My wife wanted tap water. The glasses were filthy and she had to wipe one clean before using it. The carafe of water had bits in it that needed picking out. Asked for a slice of apple and cinnamon cake and a chocolate biscoff cake. A little too sweet, but that is just personal taste. Portions were huge! But why place such huge slices on tiny saucers? Sat down inside and the walls needed a clean. You take the money in this location so why not invest some in cleaning? But the biggest issue is similar to that of a previous poster. The young woman serving was surly. I could barely hear her when I placed our order and I felt unwelcome. Sorry my wife and I are in our 50’s and are not trendy enough to grace your store with our presence! While we were there she was banging and crashing things and it looked as if she did not want to be there. I wish we had gone somewhere else.

Been coming regularly for a few months, nice atmosphere, never disappointed with the coffee, most senior staff member, a lovely personable bloke, however the other, I hate to say, female staff, are rude, and see them making faces, behind my back or as I’m leaving, very uncomfortable, very unprofessional, will have to find another spot I’m afraid

A really great spot and find if you know good coffee, the cakes went down a treat too, 100% will return!

Had a piece of cake with a latte it was lovely! The waitresses was really friendly too and advised me when I ask ❤️. Had a snickers brownie and my friend the cherry chocolate cakes, we both liked it!

After trying to hunt out the best long black in Brighton, I managed to find during my trip to Pelicano. Been back several times. Would recommend!

Pelicano is in a great location in the heart of Brighton. Perfect for people watchers. The coffee was amazing as well as the selection of tray bakes and cakes. Lots of quirky interesting flavours and served in large portions. We found this good for sharing! Unfortunately our experience was severely let down by the staff member serving us. From abruptly pushing past the customers to lacking any common courtesy or customer service. We were made feel horribly unwelcome. Probably better to take away if visiting.

We popped in as a family for a cup of coffee, hot chocolate and some cake. The service was great and friendly. We ordered and found a table for 4 upstairs. The coffee was good and the cake was very good, with generous portions.

Outstanding. One of the best cortado’s I’ve ever had. Interesting and robust texture. Friendly service. Would recommend.

Great staff, grind the beans themselves and obviously take pride in their work. Amazing delivery service during lockdown. Local business that 100% deserves our support otherwise we will be overrun by multinationals and larger impersonal local chains.

The Tea was amazing, and so was the espresso coffee. Good choice of cakes also very good. Very polite and efficient staff.

What differentiates this awesome coffee shop from other awesome coffee shops is without a doubt the friendly, lack-of-snobbery, welcome to all vibe. The coffee is just beyond incredible as are the range of teas. The homemade treats are out of this world tasty. But the service, awesome welcome, and the vibe here surpass everywhere else a zillion times over! Keep it up, guys - winning formula!

We’ve been to Pelicano in Sydney Street a few times and enjoyed the coffee and cake outside (getting divebombed by the seagulls which is not the fault of the venue - that’s just Brighton). It’s been very good on previous visits but this weekend both our coffees were unusually sweet and the cake was small and on the dry side. The place has a good reputation so we won’t be put off - we’ll assume it was the end of a long weekend

I've been getting coffee beans from Pelicano and they are incredible. Great taste and flavour and extract really well.

My long black coffee was far too big and more like a filter coffee - very watery. I only went in as Small Batch round the corner was closed, which does much better coffee with far more friendly and attentive staff

Coffee good but could be warmer. No breakfast tea. Very little to offer in food cake or very limited pastry. Just croissant which if they thought could offer jam and butter. Toilet only one and not great.

Lovely bohemian coffee shop with great cakes and freshly made coffee. Small but ideal for a relaxing break. Sit and people watch.

We stopped here for a coffee and cake stop and were not disappointed. There's an amazing array of cakes. The coffee is excellent and roasted on site. There is a lovely outside area and the staff are very friendly and inclusive we felt very accepted and there are lots of interesting people as customers too.

The Pelicano cafe is situated in Sydney Street, Brighton. It is a really laid back place to stop for a drink. It has a very relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely coffee, nice atmosphere and cute presentation. However, the cake was dry and the location of the toilet is not ideal. For that reason I give you a three out of five.

A busy atmosphere, full of chatter and enthusiastic staff. Prompt service, beautifull display of cakes on offer. Unfortunately it was a takeaway visit but sure to be back. The chocolate brownie/cake is very very chocolatey!

needed a coffee mid morning, there were a few people in there (a couple of tables upstairs taken as well) and 2 members of staff ready to serve us as we walked in. Greeted ok, took our order and payment. Went to find a table upstairs by the window, we weren't in a hurry , but our wait for 2 coffees and a piece of cake was extremely long, and annoyingly we realised that the two tables that were occupied hadn't been served either. We heard that the excuse for the long wait was because they had just had a delivery. I understand that a delivery needs to be dealt with asap especially if its perishable chilled foods, but maybe better organisation ie don't accept deliveries during busy mid morning times! The delivery came AFTER we had come in so there really wasn't an excuse for the customers who were there before us. Looking good and chatting by the coffee machine and arranging cakes is not as important as getting a quick service. The coffee wasn't up to much anyway. And the cake dry. Style over substance. There were better places nearby......

The cakes here are delicious and there was an interesting range, including a delicious parsnip cake and a peanut butter and banana bread. No other food options except cakes and cookies.

We went as a group of 8 and Pelicano did a great job of serving us quickly with some delicious teas, coffees and sweet things. Everything delicious. The vibe is very Brighton, almost feel as though you’re in another country. Music great too. Highly recommended.

The room is cute and charming, the flat whites are executed well and using good quality beans, service is smiling and polite - this is a lovely little cafe where to return many times.

Stopped here for some cake and coffee. Both were delicious. Lemon curd cake was very very good and we got a huge slice! The chocolate orange brownie was also amazing. My mocha was perfect and tea was refreshing too. Got a lovely set upstairs by the window overlooking the Lanes. Great spot to enjoy coffee and stare out the window.

Friendly staff, great location and delicious cakes. Only con is that there’s no heating so far as I could see, and the door was left open at all times. Freezing!! Hopefully they roll out some heaters soon.

Everytime I'm in Brighton I have to go to this small beautyful cafe and drink a cup of mocha. It tastes like holiday in combined with the flavouring of great coffee with a touch of chocolate. And I love the pelican that hides in their cups. This place has a great atmosphere!

We just happened to buy a coffee here as we needed to use the toilet however we were very pleasantly surprised, the service was great, the drinks were gorgeous and the interior and settings were great. I loved being there, very unique.

I’m a speciality coffee barista in Brixton, and I used to live in Brighton. Haven’t been back in years, but had always loved Pelicano.

Brighton has a great many coffee houses, small batch, cafe koho, two pines, red roasters, etc. But Pelicano is the creme of the crop when it comes to genuinely good coffee. Visited this morning and even at an early hour there where a few people there. Simple rustic decor and a plethora of cakes and pastries. Ordered a double espresso and an almond croissant. Best coffee I've had in this town, even if your a die hard latte fan, would recommend an espresso or americano just to taste the coffee by it's self. Croissant was also delicious and highly recommended. If your a serious coffee head or just looking for a damn good cup of joe, Pelicano is a must visit.

Pelicano is way different than the high-street so called coffee shops these guys are amazing in the coffee field.

Ten out of ten for this fabulous little cafe and their majestic cakes (we had the chocolate and beetroot but it was a tough decision!). Delicious coffee and earl grey tea and lovely friendly service!

I popped in to the North Laines one afternoon after one of those mornings where *nothing* was going right ... initially just to get some air and have a stomp. First, I browsed the always excellent Magazine on Trafalgar Street and chanced a publication I'd never heard of. Then ... I thought I'd try a new (to me) coffee shop. I had such a brilliant day after that!! Lovely staff, gorgeous and very generous vegan cake, and my wonderful coffee came on a platter with a vintage spoon. Everything is fantastic and I'd highly recommend it.

Popped in for a quick coffee and was very impressed. I had a flat white, which was smooth and rich - just how it should be! Their cake selection looked fresh and tempting, so I will definitely be returning soon...

The Pelicano is one of the best coffeshops in Brighton. It‘s a bit hidden but if you want good coffe it is a must! The Staff is very friendly and their pastries are delicious. Go for the brownies they are extremely good. The different coffes they serve are some of the best in town. The shop itself is small but very cosy and if the sun is shining they have a small but cozy garden to sit outside.

Went with friends for coffee, which was very good. Also had a cake, which was good. Prices were a little high, but that is expected for an independent coffee shop in Brighton.

Thier cakes are great so make sure you have room. The coffee is real good. Not loads of space inside but there is street space as well as the backyard. This is more of a lite bites venue. Better value that Costa or other chains it is very much a small independent and valued as such.

We visited Pelicano in Brighton last weekend 2 times. Both visits was very pleasant. Servis was very good. coffee was nicely decorated. Cakes / 3 out of 4 was nice and tasty. Prices are accurate. We will visit this coffee / cake shop again.

Coffee was great and not bitter (unlike many places highly recommended in Brighton), a good selection of cakes and even though the place is small, it offers some nooks and crannies with vintage furniture. Friendly staff!

Dropped in after a day at the beach, had a superb iced latte with salted caramel syrup..really nice staff and facilities, has a small outdoor garden in back. Oh and the choc brownie was on point 👌

1st visit to Brighton with my little boy so couldn't stop so was just a take away but the quality of the coffee is in particular with th best I've had in the UK. Specialty coffee produced perfectly. Live the vibe of the shop, very appealing and sadly didn't have time for cake but as you can see they look insane! Will back back in the summer to stop in!

Came with my sister for afternoon tea and cake. It was busy so had to sit at quite a squashed table! However, the cake was worth it! The pieces were actually too big even for us, but very delicious. My sister had victoria sponge covered in mini marshmallows and I had coffee cake. We also a pot of tea. Good value and great central location.

If you're looking to go into a cake coma, look no further. Creamy coffee and a massive selection of delicious cakes and pastries with vegan options available. £4 might seem a bit steep for a slice of cake until you see the size of it! If you're not up for the challenge, they also offer a wide range of other desserts like brownies, blondies, cheesecakes which are equally great. Absolutely love Pelicano, Sunday cakes have become a weekly ritual!

Lovely little cafe. Stopped off before our shopping our attention caught by the amazing cakes in the window. We were greeted by a very lady who gave us opinions on which cake to choose and where the cakes were made. The cakes were huge, home-made and catered for gluten- free diets as well as not. You may think that £4 a slice is expensive until you see the size of the slices. All served in a very attractive manner. Coffee and tea was lovely too! We shall definitely return!

Very good quality of coffee beans/roast, and well-executed flat whites. Staff were super-friendly. The room is cute. Used to London/Edinburgh, I found the price (2.60) OK, but I do not know how it compares with others in the area. Also very good-looking cakes on display, to try another time.

I really love Pelicano, out of all the many places to get amazing coffee in Brighton Pelicano is by far my favourite, it's got a really great atmosphere, delicious cakes and pastries and of course some of the best roasts in the city! Definitely try and make a trip here

We found this cafe as we wondered around and what a fantastic place! The pastries so fresh and my chai latte was the best I've had in the UK for a very long time!

Me animé a entrar cuando vi que estaba lleno de gente y pensé que tendrían buenas cakes para merendar. La experiencia fue encantadora! El estilo retro del lugar y mobiliario, los cubiertos y tacitas vintage, la música melancólica de fondo, y todo ello acompañado por el aroma del café y distintos dulces hizo del rato que pase aquí uno de los mejores momento de mi viaje. Si decides hacer una parada en Brighton te recomiendo que pruebes su tarta de zanahoria, no te arrepentirás.

Have been to this coffee shop for the first time on Boxing Day as they were the only ones open in the Laines when we were wandering around, and what a find it was! It was packed but the staff were absolutely amazing! They did a great job of serving customers fast and with a great coffee, will definitely return again when I'm in town!

I had to write a review because I was so impressed when I visited here today. The first thing I noticed was the lovely friendly atmosphere and the coffee was lovely, no bitterness here from the staff or their coffee!

I really love Pelicano, their sandwiches and cakes are always displayed beautifully and they are delicious too. The coffee, tea and iced teas are always great. It's a really cute place and one of my favourites.

Okay coffee, but dismal vibe - chipped black paint, splintery floorboards. Grim yard and loo out back full of rotting packing cases and garden slime. No energy here...

We stopped for coffee and a pastry. The service was friendly and welcoming, The coffee was excellent, a soya mocha, one of the best I've had, rich and mellow. And we were able to sit outside in the tiny yard they have at the back, which was very basic and not very comfortable, but nonetheless charming, and it's always nice to find somewhere you can sit outside in the centre of Brighton.

Their service, is brilliant, cakes and brownies are the best in Brighton- nothing else to say, highly recommend

Came here in my search for a worthwhile cake stop and was extremely happy with my choice from the many cafes in Brighton. Fresh pot of tea leaf tea, lovely presentation of drinks/food, good choice of seating in an interesting setting down the lanes and happy efficient staff. Of course the best thing though was a wonderful selection of cakes on offer and both our choices were delicious. And the slices were decent with a comparable price tag. This will be a stop I shall be making again

If you happen to be anywhere around the North Lanes and fancy a sandwich and/or coffee, Pelicano should be your go-to place. Amazing food, the best coffee in the area and the staff are lovely. Go.

Last week I had an afternoon meeting, and my colleague suggested the Pelicano, as she was standing in front of it at the time.

Went Saturday 4th February 2016 and this coffee shop is worth a visit.

Both Greg and Ollie have made me espressos at Pelicano which have been second to none - a total delight to sip and savour. I felt like I would walk out to the tarmac and there would be my private jet waiting. What more can I say...

Fabulous coffee and cake so would recommend for that. Very expensive but that's to be expected for Brighton, not much change from a tenner for 1 coffee and 1 cake. Shocking service, all the staff were too busy chatting to each-other and flirting with a customer (whom they probably knew) to notice us. One red headed waitress was single handedly keeping the cafe running. Felt very sorry for her.

I've been 5 or 6 times but last month I went and had one the best coffees I've had in Brighton. The coffee was calibrated perfectly and had such a nice natural sweetness. They definitely know what they are up to

Pelicano really know how to brew a coffee, their hot and cold coffees are delicious, and they take five minutes to make because they're being brewed right there! The cakes are really yummy and there's lots of choice. I would say - there's very little seating especially if you have a pram, and the toilet is downstairs and outside.

I have visited this coffee shop lots of times and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, however my visit with a friend on Sunday was disappointing. Everything seemed a bit unraveled. A lot of the food was un-labelled so making a choice was laboured although the member of staff was helpful. My toasted sandwich arrived cold, we were given small mugs of tea rather than nice pots and strainers as on previous visits and the music WAS LOUD and pretty depressing. Possibly "grunge". My request to turn it down was met with a look resembling "what's your problem old woman?" by two of the staff. LOL. I'm in my fifties and like a bit of hip hop, danced to house and trance, still do given the chance and MOST important.... I AM the customer. The dirge was turned down for all of three seconds and then turned up again. Not nice is it. We would have had more tea and possibly cake as we had done on previous visits, but left and took our business elsewhere. Seemed like others had done the same as it was pretty empty by then when its should have been bustling for lunchtime trade. Good rule of business. Look after your customers. Staff are there to work not play music of their taste at full volume and react to customer requests with derision when they would like to be able to talk to each other over a cuppa without straining voice and ears. It's a Brighton coffee shop not an Ibiza destination. Like I said, I hope for other customers' sake that this was a one off. A bad day in the life of young pretend "hipster" waiting staff. It'll be a while before I go back to find out. There are plenty of other places to go.

This is a really great place to grab a coffee - the baristas really know their stuff and I have never been disappointed. They also do a nice range of cakes and savoury snacks but it's the coffee that is the standout. The interior is really nice too and even though it can get incredibly busy if you choose the right time of day you can while away an nice hour or so nursing a coffee and people watching.

Huge portions of cake, a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I've never had a bad cake in there and the coffee is good too.
