Peking House in Telford and Wrekin

I do like the food from here. Not a fan of their chowmein as its quite overly greasy and no taste? the colour looks grey of the chowmein. Won't be getting that again. We get their munchie box which is really nice. Very salty (but not horrible) just make sure you have plenty of fluids! ahah. Overall quite good.

Greasy, flavourless chicken and pork curry with poor quality meat...more onion than meat. Tasteless BBQ spare ribs in a watery sauce. Service was curt verging on rude. Wrong food hygiene rating on door (shows 3 ftom 2020 but latest rating is 2 from 2023). AVOID and go to Wan Loi.

All the food was greasy, lacked flavour, the chilli and salt chicken was over cooked and difficult to eat, not worth the money. Go elsewhere if you want a good takeaway.

10/10 food it’s our go to takeaway, always collect its a lot faster because they haven’t got a fleet of delivery drivers so if you order on a Friday or Saturday night don’t expect it within the hour but the food is always spot on

Best Chinese takeaway in Newport without a doubt.

Absolutely terrible. Placed an order. Never turned up. When I phoned and asked why they said ‘because you weren’t there’. I have video footage to prove they never turned up. No apology, no attempt to rectify. USELESS

This is the worst food ever me and my sister have salmonella food poiseing from here definitely don't order anything from here, extreme vomiting chills bad tummy, they need inspecting by food hygiene from the orthorties ASAP, never felt so poorly

Food is adequate from here. Whatever time your told on the phone add a good 10mins. Service is a bit rubbish. No interaction or greeting with a smile, just pay (then wait some more) then go. Shame. Customers are more likely to have a 'regular' takeaway if they're made to feel welcome and valued.

I must admit the food I had from the Peking was the worst Chinese I have ever eaten! Chicken Chow Mein bland & tasteless apart from the taste of grease, spare ribs in syrup looked like they had been reheated on several occasions, meat was hard & split, syrup run like water. Garlic mushrooms old & withered & the king prawn Chop Suey looked like it had been cooked in a very weak gravy & again bland. Definitely will not be going back…… Zero STAR….

Well, my hubby convinced me to try them again. Thanks for spoiling my hubby's birthday. We have both had a meal. We were enjoying the day as it was my hubby's birthday until tonight that is. We both shared Spare Ribs and now we are both Sick. Actually throwing up Sick. Thanks Peking house. Same thing happened 4 years ago. I wish I hadn't given you a second chance.

I'm not one to post a poor review, but tonight has been a massive disappointment. Almost 2 hours to get the initial delivery after having to phone up and complain. I'm fairly certain had I not called, the food would never have arrived!! When it did eventually arrive, items missing... So another even more disgruntled phone call .... And a half meal at best for my incredibly hungry children who were so let down by what should have been a treat. I believe in supporting local businesses and so have remained loyal and ordered from here regularly, despite slow service and forgotten orders in the past. Enough is definitely enough. I am now on the hunt for a different, more reliable Chinese delivery!

Just eaten an inedible chow mein the pork was solid as a rock almost broke my tooth tasted old, this after trying to charge me a pound to use my debit card which is illegal,they are still charging you I suggest the owner reads up on the law you are not allowed to charge customers to use their debit card! I won't be back,

Shame you can't leave zero stars. Absolutely awful service, don't accept card (tax dodging??) food was inedible, made us ill the next day. Failed to change an item on the order after repeatedly checking they had understood. Go to Wok n Roll instead. Far better food and service.

RUDE. The people on the phone and at the desk when you walk in have terrible communication and customer service ...not polite and very blunt! Food left with stomach aches!

Tried to make a small order around 8.30pm. 9.20 still not arrived so I called. The lady who answered was not the nost chatty or polite. Just told me she can't give me a time ill have to wait for the driver to come back then call again. Which I did.. still not back so I asked her to cancel the order. I ised to get a great service from them theyve really gone down hill.. couodnt be any worse at the moment unfortunately. Id of used wan loi but they don't deliver

Almost unintelligible on the phone. Definitely the worst Chinese food I've ever had. All tasteless mush. Also expensive. Oh and cash only, not at all dodgy that eh!!

Had the worst meal ever from there tonight it took nearly 2hrs to turn up after phoning at 7pm to see where it was lady didnt speak much English finally tea turned up at 7.25 it was stone cold an food was burnt wont b having one again from there for a very long time

ordered a meal, very poor communication on phone. Was handed a half cold meal, quality of the meal was very poor. disappointing, wish the other chinese places were open. will not be returning in the future. would rather have a pot noodle than the meal I had!

The most disorganised takeaway I have ever experienced! Names were not taken over the phone, therefore when you go in and ask to pick up your order it never materialises and only gets put through to the kitchen once you turn up to collect. Because of this it took and hour longer than was stated on the phone. This was a similar for other customers waiting aswell.

Ordered at 6.40 PM and it is now 21.01 and order has still not arrived.... phoned twice and told lost order and then order on it's way then it will be 20 minutes.... order at your peril... it's very hot and miss...

Phoned at 5.55 today ordered got told 45 mins to 1 hour for delivery phoned up 1 hour and 15 mins later to be told the order wasn't processed yet and would take another half hour and the lady on the phone said it wasn't busy.... Ordered cancelled poor service

DELIVERY SERVICE IS AWEFUL!!!!! We usually choose to go to Wan Loi, as the service is brilliant and food is lovely, but unfortunately for us, they aren’t open Tuesdays, so never the less, we choose to try peking house again instead, after not using them for a while due to problems like this. Ordered for delivery, after being told it would arrive in half an hour, and still hadn’t, rang them up, whilst on the phone, they decided to take another persons order who were in the shop, then mumbled down the phone saying ours was on its way. Half an hour later, it’s still not arrived, baring in mind we live 5 minutes away. So after waiting over an HOUR we went down, to find the food hadn’t even left the building, NO APOLOGY from any member of staff for their atrocious service, or explanation for why this had happend They choose to offer £1 of our food order (which was their delivery charge anyway) which came to £25.00 to try resolve the matter which is ridiculous! Don’t waste your time like we did.

Wow, what can I say... I've been coming to this Chinese since I knew what Chinese was (and that's a long time). Never been let down by the sheer quality and value for money this establishment provides. The food : wow jesus christ Cantonese style for me please. Just great. And they aren't shy with the prawn crackers I'll tell you that for free. Phwoar, keep it coming. Cheers

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten and I’ve been to quite a few different places in different areas. I was already apprehensive as they only have 3/5 for hygiene but gave it a go any way. Noodles and rice were over cooked, stodgy and came out of the container like a slab, the curry sauce was mostly oil and the flavours weren’t pleasant. Very disappointed

Never had a bad meal, bang on every time, me and my family really enjoy it. Will go back again in the future for sure.

Possibly the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had the displeasure of eating! Tasted and smelt terrible - couldn't eat it and was still I'll from it - vomiting! Definitely, avoid and go for fish and chips instead!!

Not too bad, one of the better Chinese takeaways round here. Sometimes get order wrong though.
