Great sound and atmosphere at Peggy’s. Went to see local band Sticky Morales. Fantastic vibe with friendly and efficient staff. Good value live music venue

Absolute gem of a venue with multiple bands and musicians playing every week. The sound quality is fantastic, very clear, nice food and usually very good service. Have been several times including most recently Fat Suit, who were excellent. Performers usually have good things to say on stage about the venue and go out of their way to do so. That says a lot about the venue owners. This is the best venue in Nottingham and we are very fortunate to have it.

This was our first visit to Peggy Skylight and it did not disappoint. When I booked I said that it was our first visit, and that I had chosen it to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. On arrival we were greeted with good wishes for our anniversary and a glass of Prosecco. The menu is small but everything we ordered was very tasty. It’s table service and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The live music was fabulous, and sitting at a table eating and drinking, listening to a wonderful jazz band, I felt I’d been taken back in time. It might have been our first visit to Peggy Skylight, but it certainly won’t be our last.

My 3rd time at Peggy’s and again a gorgeous and exciting experience. This time we came to see the Jazz Defenders and they were truly fantastic and we had a great time. The food was delicious as always and drinks lovely, gorgeous range of wines and staff always providing friendly service.

Fabulous music. Lovey intimate venue. Great food. Such a brilliant little venue. So pleased that this exists in Nottingham. Gives a real boost to live music. The house band is really good. And Stone Cold Hustle are brilliant- driven funk with one of the best bass players I’ve seen for a very long time. My only criticism would be there are no chips. I’d have really liked some. And the bread could be a bit more indulgent. Maybe get some from ugly bread folk. Apart from that it’s fab

Peggy's Skylight hosted our wedding reception on 12th Feb 2024. We had the time of our lives. 150 guests also agree. On our arrival, we were serenaded by the talented pianist Mr Paul Deet, food was deliciously awesome, the service was superb, the band (Sticky Morales) filled the dancefloor.Paul, Rachel, Val, Meg and team please accept the biggest thank you from Pip and Dave for making our day so fabulous.

Absolute gem of a venue. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food and best of all great music. We went on a Saturday evening, got in for opening ( 7:30 ). Sat and chilled with food awaiting band to come on. Can still order food when band on up to first interval. I was expecting a bigger venue ( not that it's small ), but was impressed its more intimate that I thought. Great view of stage and close to the action. We will be returning for sure ! Love it !

We went for the Sunday lunch time performance of Frank Cognoscenti with the Edgar Macias quartet on November 12th. The singer and the band were just amazing and performed a wonderful selection of songs from Sinatra’s extensive repertoire. Loved the medley from Antonio Carlos Jobim’s songbook. And what a fantastic venue with excellent food, and being vegetarians were really pleased to see such a wide choice of dishes. The cocktail and drinks menu is extensive too! The service we received from the whole team (our main server was Josie who was outstanding ) was of an impeccable level. 5* plus Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable and we will be back.

This was our first visit to Peggy's and was to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had been meaning to visit for sometime. What a great afternoon. We arrived at 12.15 to ensure we had time for lunch and settle down for the music. The food menu was in a Meze style. We had a number of small portions and so delicious; a word of warning slightly expensive if you are on a tight budget. We then watched, whilst still eating and drinking, Mucky Slide a fantastic jazz trio. Our view from our seats (Duke) against the side wall on a slightly raised platform gave us a perfect view. Overall absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. Brilliant venue, great food, lovely staff and fab music. A great afternoon.

One of the Best Music Experiences in the East Midlands. Really cool vibe, geat music and interesting food. What more could you want? Come along before it is forced to close (or hopefully relocates 🤞)

Another wonderful evening at Peggy's with Janine Johnson and her jazz band. Although the Club was full it was a great, intimate atmosphere, almost like a private concert. We had dinner which as ever, was served in small, tapas style bowls, but arrived quickly and hot. very tasty, Mediterranean style menu. The whole evening cost below £60.00 (plus tickets) including a glass of wine. Good service, great night, highly recommended to you.

Peggy’s Skylight is an amazing venue. We had the best evening. The live music was top quality, ‘Sticky Morales’ were brilliant. A diverse audience who totally appreciated the amazing music, made it more than comfortable and difficult to refuse to dance the night away. We had tapas first with an Iranian and Persian flavour. Highly recommend the backed feta and the salt cod with orange, absolutely delicious. A top night out, fantastic vibes, great music and gorgeous food. Will be back very soon.

I love Peggy's Skylight. It is a must for me during every visit to Nottingham. I have visited at least 5 - 6 times. Outstanding live music in a quaint environment. Great food and service and value for money. It's a lovely environment of nice people and music lovers.

The venue is nice. The food, cost and portion size really let this place down. The portions were tiny but expensive. I had chicken shawarma which came in a tiny small plate even though it was priced £9.00. We also had the Lam orzo again no lamb pieces and small. The one we enjoyed the most of the koftas. The flatbread was small and flavourless. in the end our group of 4 ordered 6 mains with 4 sides. It was an expensive night! Will not be returning.

I went with my girlfriend a few days ago to celebrate our anniversary - it was a wonderful evening. We were seated on the far wall on what seemed to be cinema seats. I'm now sure that Peggy's is one of Nottingham's best venues: the band were stellar in a very understated way; the room is spacious but feels romantic & intimate. Staff are all friendly and were only too happy to take a photo for us. Food and cocktails are both delicious. A word of caution, although not enough to subtract a star - the tapas portions are not massive for the price, so it's perhaps best for a light evening meal - if you're starving and have a few drinks it will get costly quite quickly. All in all, somewhere that I'll be recommending to friends - an asset to our city.

Another wonderful night at Peggy's, this time to see the James Taylor Quartet who were simply stunning and struck up such an amazing rapport and feel good atmosphere getting most of us up on our feet to dance to their superb blend of funk, soul and jazz (even after eating two courses of the fantastic Middle Eastern food which James Taylor also highly recommended!) Thank you Peggy's!! We will be back for many more nights like this

I booked Peggy's Skylight as a datenight surprise for my girlfriend. It was a magical experience from start to finish. I couldn't have chosen a better place for a date, the setting was chilled and romantic, with great drinks and a lovely atmosphere; even with a soldout crowd! My girlfriend was so moved by Saxophonist Simon Spillett and his quartet; we will 100% be coming back again very soon with friends and family. A complete GEM in the heart of Nottingham, DO NOT let this place close down! We must support local venues now more than ever! Thank you Peggy's!

What a hidden gem this is. We went to the twilight performance and opted for the cinema style seating. The venue is welcoming and whilst a little quirky this just added to the amazing atmosphere. The food is a little different than we’d have chosen and the menu is quite limited, however when it arrived it was absolutely delicious. It was well presented and tasted fantastic. We were also lucky enough to be able to enjoy the happy hour on the cocktails. These were delicious too and can highly recommended the Long Island tea. The band was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It’s such a shame we have nowhere like this locally to us, however would plan a break in Nottingham again purely to go to this venue.

Enjoyed a wonderful performance from Simon Spillett and his quartet. Ordered several food items from the menu - nothing very special and overpriced for what it was. Next time would eat elsewhere before arriving for the music.

Friends who like me enjoy Jazz asked me to pick a gig here and it was their treat. Seriously impressed and it took me back years . Great atmosphere , extremely good service . Menu Mediterranean and Middle Eastern tapas style dishes . Also the live music was Brazilian Jazz Samba , just what you need on a damp night in Nottingham during The Winter.

Peggy's is a good venue for listening to Jazz music. We went in for a late lunch and were able to get a table. Some people who wanted a table for longer were getting turned away because the tables were reserved for when the music started later.The menu is a mix of north African and middle eastern meze dishes. Before 5pm they have an offer on but each dish is between £6-10.We had 5 different dished and they all come with rice and look similar. Even the bean stew came under a mound of rice.I was a little disappointed because i found the food bit bland and i was expecting more spice in each if the dishes.I think that they focus more on the jazz music and not the food. As i am not a fan of jazz i wont go back again but if you are, it is worth giving it a try.

I spent my birthday here celebrating with my family and friends. The music and singing by Me and Mr Jones (also Peggy's wonderful hosts) was wonderful, the food was delicious and staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect. I'm a huge fan of Peggy's Skylight and have been here many times. Nottingham is so lucky to have such an amazing, vibrant space with fantastic food and exciting music. You have to go there!

A terrific ambience, outstanding music and food to die for. What more could you want. Peggy’s Skylight has it all. Located in the centre of town, this lovingly crafted music venue has a wonderful atmosphere with great musicians easily visible from all parts of the building. The Middle Eastern sourced menu is delicious and “Peggy’s Malt” home made ice cream should be patented. We wish P S. every success and we will be back for second helpings

I popped in early doors so didn’t benefit from what is on offer. There’s a limited draft beer offer (I saw 3) but that’s not what it’s all about.Guys were setting up on the stage for a gig. I loved the tiered cinema seats and that I could see through to the kitchen. It had a really great feel.

Three ladies for lunch visited Peggy’s Skylight for the Nottingham Bid lunch offer. Neither of us having eaten here before were unsure what to expect. Could it be another music bar with subpar offerings of international cuisine? How wrong our presumptions were.Food was exceptionally balanced, fresh, and full of flavour. We were left wanting more, and so will return for the lunch offer and an evening of live Jazz.Service from the young gent was lovely.We will be back, thank you!

If you like jazz, great food, wonderful staff and a fantastic atmosphere - then this is the place for you! I am a regular visitor and usually pop in once a week, even if it's only to take advantage of their wonderful happy hour! Last year I took a friend from London to Peggy's for New Year's Eve and it is a real Nottingham gem to show off to visitors. She was very impressed.Highly recommend this place!

We tried to get into the Pelican Club, however it was booked and then we stumbled on Peggy's Skylight. If you like jazz music then you will definitely love this place, as we did and we will definitely returning.The ambience and subtle lighting was most definitely up my street. The service was alittle slow but the place was busy and it was a Saturday night. The food was really worth waiting for, full of aromatic flavours and just sublime. I had a Sin City cocktail which had a very acquired taste shall I say, not what I was expecting. So like I say we will be returning

So I came to Nottingham to work for a few weeks. Hotel nights are a bit dull so I looked for somewhere to go and that’s when I discovered Peggy’s Skylight. I love the place itself - the bar, tables, the stage. It has such a welcoming feel. And then there’s the music. You can sit far away or right by the stage and if you haven’t been close up and personal with a band (the mosh pit doesn’t count) you really need to try it. Some nights are feee admission so why not pop in for an hour for a coffee and be entertained at the same time. Other nights you have to pay but if, like me, you are used to London gig prices you’ll find Peggy’s easy on the wallet. So whether you are a jazz nut or whether you just fancy something a bit different you should definitely give Peggy’s Skylight a visit. The good news is my contract has just been extended so I’ll be back for more.Tim

OMG. This place is a hidden gem . Had a hectic morning shopping in Nottm. Needed somewhere in the centre , walking distance from shops for lunch . Chose this place by chance and how very glad we did . The food is delicious and sooo. reasonable . £10.50 for lunch . The venue is brilliant with fantastic music playing . Oh and the staff were so friendly . Why go to some boring cafe for a mediocre sandwich or soup when you can have this brilliant maze. And if you extend it to a long lunch , cocktails are 2 for 1 at 5pm . Am a regular now .

This places is such a great night out. It’s hard to get great music and great food together but they pull it off here big time!The Meze menu is varied and delicious and we chose to go on an evening with an amazing young jazz pianist. The staff are really friendly and make the whole experience one I will be doing again very soon and telling everyone else who likes music and food!!

Having recently visited Peggy’s Skylight I wanted to encourage everyone to go. Food was outstanding & reasonably priced. Can recommend the slow cooked lamb, chicken with saffron rice, beetroot/chickpea salad. The layout really created a great atmosphere. The staff were efficient & friendly. As if all that isn’t enough the Rhythm & Blues duo was really impressive. Please go along and experience it for yourself.

We came to Peggy's for the first time last night, a brilliant night! The venue, food, staff were all without exception amazing. Rollo Markee and Lewis Fielding were both just fantastic artists, sadly we missed the 2nd set as our friends visiting from Holland had to catch a ferry.This is a venue that other other venues should visit to see how it's done!Thank you all at Peggy's.

I think everyone who knows about this amazing place has agreed to say ‘shhh don’t tell anyone’ how can Peggy’s have been opened a year and yet not really well known. Was invited by a friend to visit on Wednesday 22nd August, as part of their birthday celebration. What a wonderful surprise- great venue, yummy food, wonderful service and an amazingly talented band Me and Mr Jones. A wonderful evening let’s shout it from the rooftops!!!!

Another fabulous night at Peggy’s. It’s become a favourite this year with their rich and varied menu of jazz and jazz fusion music....and killer wines. Interior design lovingly created so you step back in time to that classic jazz club vibe ...even the toilets are truly stylish!! Lovely staff. Try the sweet mince mezze for something different and yummy.

Mmmmm wasnt the most straight forward of booking as it only allowed him to put 1 ticket in the basket(12 pounds) so he rang up to speak to someone, who explained we would have to go back on line to purchase another 10pound ticket and all would be ok, bit of a pain but alice didnt explain very well how it worked!We arrived to what seemed a swish little jazz club and was given a choice of 2 seats 1st one being uncomfortable high stools or more comfortable seats further back a little like theater seats which where fine! Good view of the stage ect...Now theres a few trip advisors that claim its expensive, we strongly disagree I myself am a big drinker and I had quite a few drinks including half a bottle of the house white, 3 peroni and 2 cocktails, meze for 2 including a rice dish, bread, olives, hummus, salad, lamb koftas all for 69.20! Although my husband who is very wealthy stated the prosecco was very pricey so we didnt bother as it was overpriced for the type!1st drinks came quickly then we ordered another peroni for me which never came, so after a gentle reminder the waitress apologised as she forgot! I expect on a night like this beers to be flowing and service to be on point having paid for tickets ect. Food was faultless and the band was excellent even tho I'm not in to jazz at all!Anyway I had to try one of the cocktails which was a tom cobbler and wow that was good too....however when we ordered it, I asked the waiter if it was 'peggy' at the bar (owner) as my husband assumed it was, the waiter said yes, then asked if ild like to buy her a drink! Well it looked as if she was having a good time with the drinks she had lined up so declined the offer! It was all In jest but there was a few niggley things I didnt like about the night.Altho we would go again im hoping for a better more professional experience.

Had a great time at Peggy Skylights on Friday great music and wonderful food. Nottingham needs this wonderful venue.

Wonderful Jazz venue! I have been here several times. I am always amazed at the exceptional standard of the music. Up there with other nationally known jazz venues. I don't always eat but have always had good food there. Staff friendly. I love the atmosphere and décor - a great place to spend a few hours or just have a coffee.

Just adore this venue. So cool but not stuffy. There's World class live music,fabulous middle eastern food and the warmest of welcomes at Peggys in Hockley, Nottingham's coolest district.It's as great for Sat or Sun lunchtime as it is for an awesome night out, free entry and ticketed options.

Deli quartet better than ever, lovely food and a good wine list. Service relaxed but efficient. I’ve already booked a table for my birthday next month.
