Really friendly staff the young gentleman behind the bar and the young lady serving. Unfortunately the food wasn't good large amount of the draft drinks not available and the exterior could do with some tidying up . I wouldn't go back to eat but would call in for a drink due to the friendly nature of the front of house staff

Lovely little traditional pub in Thorpe Arch, not far from the hustle and bustle of Boston Spa. It was my late grandfather's favourite pub and I can see why. Very friendly atmosphere and staff team (including the most friendly pub cat you'll ever find). They have a nice little traditional menu now including a great burger and loaded fries selection, giving them a bit of a USP, with decent portion sizes at a reasonable price. The pub has two sides, a cosy side with wood burner to eat in and a bigger area with pool table etc where locals and walkers tend to mix and drink together around the bar.

Well done Dane and team. You served 22 of us today with fabulous Turkey and the food was tasty and hot. Lots of veggies and delicious puds. Everyone said how they liked the layout of the room. Roaring fire was a bonus too. We will be back next year for our annual Christmas family get together. Might be 35 of us next time 😃 Happy Christmas and all the best for 2024 Jackie and family

What can I say! I got in touch with Dane to arrange a surprise 30th for my brother and from the beginning he did everything he could to pull the party off and nothing was too much hassle! We had the BEST night ever! Everyone did! The burgers were the best that people had ever had and believe me there were some burger lovers there especially the birthday boy haha! It was truly fabulous, the bar staff were great & so helpful! We have been going in the Pax for a long time and have seen owners come and go but truly believe that this place is going to get better and better- it has everything going for it now! Thanks so much! We held surprise 60th party here last night for our mum, got to say wow, your hospitality was amazing, such lovely friendly staff, a warm atmosphere. The food was excellent. Thank you again for allowing us to hold the party at your pub. Will definitely be back in the future

The bangers and mash are so tasty!

I popped in today with my mother inlaw and son, and have to say how accommodating the owners were. They swapped things around on the menu to make an ideal dinner for my son. My mother inlaw was so happy with the food and atmosphere she wants to bring my grandparents for Sunday roast. And I ate the best kids cheese beef burger since the 1980’s when I was introduced to whimpy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Had a lovely evening with friends. The food was beautiful ( especially the steak pie and the massala topped chips) The staff were all really friendly and accommodating and the games room is great. Would highly recommend a visit.

Such a lovely time at The Pax Inn tonight. We had a group of us come for some food and games and the service was great! Dave and the staff really looked after us and made sure we were catered for. The food was delish - from the burgers and loaded fries to the seriously spicy chicken wings! I would really recommend coming here for good vibes and lovely food. Had a brilliant time at this pub last night! A group of us hired out the games room, we had so much fun. The staff are super friendly and always ready to help. Was such a nice atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon hoping to get something to eat as other places had stopped serving food. We all really enjoyed our food, my husband had the steak and ale pie and said it was the best he'd ever eaten in a pub. My mother in law had the gammon huge piece and not too salty, good portions, shame we're not local as this would be a regular place to visit for food and drinks. Good pint of Guinness, too. Highly recommend.

This place is an absolute gem! Check out the homemade hot sauces, one of which is a prizewinner. And the food was absolutely top notch. I had the best halloumi burger of my life, which was so good I bought a second to take back home the misses, who was a 5 hour drive away. And despite enduring the long journey, she still thought it was the most gourmet burger she'd ever had too! Also had Neck Oil on tap to boot. We went back 2 days on the trot. I miss it already.

We were keen to try the newly reopened Pax Inn for a meal with friends, and I'm glad we did. The moules mariniere to start were lovely, and a generous portion. Followed by a delicious burger with all the trimmings and "dirty" fries with a masalla sauce which were first rate. The ambience will be better when it's a bit busier, but I'm pleased we walked up from Boston Spa to try it out. It was good quality, albeit straightforward food done well.

Just had a lunch there, which was really good and great sized portions. Steak and ale pie for me, with the best chips I've had in ages. Service was quick and friendly. The only slight negative was the atmosphere which was lacking a wee bit, but only because it was quiet today. My companions loved it too.

Had a meal at the Pax this week and really enjoyed! Delicious food and super friendly service. Will be returning very soon!

Fantastic home cooked Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Disappointing. Visited on a warm, sunny afternoon, so chose to sit outside. This area needs tidying up! The artificial grass hasn't been cleaned for ages and there was rubbish lying around. The chairs were cheap folding ones and some of the tablets were warped. This could be a lovely area in the summer and bring loads of new customers. The Sunday dinner was average. I'm very surprised that a pub in the heart of a beautiful, expensive village and area, isn't being invested in. This pub could be a goldmine and could be put on the map. It's got potential, but needs some work to get it there.

Second visit for us and both times Dane and Carrie have greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome. Food was spot on. Lovely variety, piping hot and delicious. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We decided to try The Pax since it has recently reopened under new ownership. We were impressed. The food was great and the staff were really friendly.

I went here the other day with my daughter, sister, nieces and parents. Very friendly environment, and there’s plenty of seating. As far as the menu the food is amazing! I am vegetarian and I had the vegetarian Shepards pie and that was HUGE and delicious. I also got a vegan Yorkshire pudding and it was delicious, of course it wasn’t as huge and puffy as a Yorkshire pudding made with egg, however the taste was unbeatable. I did see my parents Sunday roast meal which was huge, the meat (in their words) was delicious and tender. And the children’s meals were a very good size too. Lovely staff, huge pub, great food and good atmosphere! Would definitely come back here again when I’m up this way, and would recommend to everyone. Thank you for a lovely meal x

Found this little Gem this afternoon lovely food from small menu but beautifully presented and delicious food will definitely be returning.

Dane and Carrie have recently taken over the Pax Inn and what a fantastic start. The pub looks great after a referbishment and Dane and Carrie are welcoming hosts. We ate there tonight and it is good honest home made pub food, with plenty of flavour.

Nice pub, friendly surroundings.Very accommodating, pleasant and efficient. Will return.

Had a nice Sunday roast,wife had sausage and mash,both enjoyed the food. Beer a little pricey £5 for a bitter shandy.

Lovely pub called in after work

A great village pub under new management, very welcoming hosts care about their customers. Lovely outdoor seating area with plenty of room great for those sunny days. Live entertainment. We went with a group of friends and children on a sunday afternoon, we watched a live band who we all loved, the children even had a little boogie.

Starting to lose count of the reincarnations in the five years we've been local, or the (albeit only handful) times we've walked there over the years expecting it to be open only to find it shut.. New owners(?), current format, works well it seems. Whilst it feels there's potential for more charm and cosiness it, in a way does have its own charm - the point being it hasn't sold out to or copied the fake heritage of, say, a Vintage Inn chain. And the fish and chips were great, really yummy fish especially, that in my view beat recent experiences to Wetherby Whaler. AND, I gather they do take away! Will definitely try that.

I don't know whether you know this part of the world and I'm not sure if there are many reasons for a visit. But it's not far off the beaten path, enough to make you feel you're off the treadmill but so far as to think you've ventured in to Brigadoon. Whatever the inspiration, if you're down this way, make time for a visit to the Pax. There are other bars in Thorp Arch but there's only one pub!

I have deleted my past posts about this pub as it has just got new management, so will have to revisit to give a proper up to date review. It is a lovely village pub though.

Had a takeaway last night absolutely gorgeous, The best Indian food I've had in years will not be going anywhere else for are takeaways ever again.

Great takeaway curry, I would recommend the 'Railway' I have had it as standard and and hot both excellent, and will be goimg back for more

Off the beaten track but a nice intimate inn. Had drinks outside which was beautifully decorated and would suit people of all ages. At our visit there was no one busiting which was a shame. Would highly recommend. The development also comprises of an Indian restaurant which was closed during our visit which was in the afternoon. The staff member was friendly and helpful too.

The best Indian we've ever had. The only problem is that we now get harrased daily by the kids to order from here.

Great beer garden great food from Indian but disorganised.

Had a drink outside with some snacks. Nothing special although very friendly, efficient and helpful. Brought a bowl of water for Ted our dog without asking. It's the little things that sometimes make the difference.

Bar staff fantastic, very attentive remembered what we drank. Refurb of pub fantastic. Restaurant area nice atmosphere now an Indian eatery, service great, food very mediocre nothing out of the ordinary small portions 8 cubes of lamb in a sauce for £8.95 expensive!!!

Local pub, good for a great Sunday lunch.

D'y'know I'm just not sure about this place. Food took ages to arrive and when it did it was 'meh'. Very forgettable.

the Indian here is some of the best I've ever had

Staff stand talking to friends at a table all night not doing there job, most of food was ok but mine was terrible never seen or taste a curry like it! When we had paid we waited for the change but it didn't come so we had to go and ask for it then they give us £13 instead of £16 wouldn't recommend it

Friendly and free parking. Good atmosphere and absolutely fantastic food! The prices are reasonable and the staff are helpful and welcoming. A definite stop off for a meal and a scoop!

Very clinical decor, felt like I was in the dentist waiting room. And the beer did not taste right, I left after the first drink to find somewhere more welcoming & cosy.

The welcome was cold. The room was cold the organisation skills were poor the food was warm and poor quality. Not recommended by any stretch of the imagination. A shame it used to be good

Called in for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere was very good, quite busy. The staff were more than helpful. Ordered lunch and the food was hot and very filling. Drinks seemed expensive but you can have everything. Well worth a visit

Friday tea time meal. A limited choice, only 3 desserts and an Eton Mess 'special' that was nothing like an Eton Mess? Two merengues with squirty cream and a sliced strawberry? Main courses over salted. Good chips. Won't be rushing back.
