The Pavilion Cafe has been taken over by a wonderful family. They are welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. We have become regular visitors because of the atmosphere. It’s a proper cafe in the heart of our town. They serve a lovely cuppa and do I mean sarnie! To top it off Dogs are welcome and always well attended to also.

New owners for this cafe now and they’re so friendly and welcoming! All customers say hello when they sit with their or sandwiches which makes for a lovely experience. Well worth a visit if you’re going to the Castle Grounds or visiting the new play area!

Since being taken over earlier this year, the new owners have transformed this place into an oasis for people to meet and chat over lovely food and drinks.

Went in to purchase an ice cream for my son after playing in the playground. First I was displeased by how inconvenienced the one lady who served me was, and then I was short changed by £5 and when I queried it, they basically thought I was lying and were looking at me like I was some kind of convict. I did get my money back but not before I was made to feel victimised despite their discrepancy. Won’t be spending money in there again. Snooty and disorganised.

Following an accident on the nearby skate park, my 12 year old son and his dad rushed to the cafe to request help. Despite being in obvious distress with blood pouring from his face, which has since required him to undergo emergency plastic surgery, he was ushered out of the cafe and refused any first aid dying they had no first aid box on site! Shame on you!

Worst mistake ever to visit here with my family. After a wonderful trip to the castle and the lure of a Twister ice cream we decided to check this place out for a late lunch. Walking in we were greeted with an overpowering smell of grease. The lady behind the counter was anything but polite. We had decided upon a cheese sandwich for the children and a toastie for us to share. There was no facility to pay by card and with £10 on us, those 2 items would've left us with little change which I personally think is extortionate. Upon asking if they had any fruit we were told that they don't sell it and was offered a choice of childrens meals, all of which were something fried with chips and beans which wasnt an option for us. The lady then stormed off after we commented on how there was an array of sweets and chocolates but no fruit to then be met by I assume the manager who proceeded to tell us how no one buys fruit so they don't sell it. Our clothes still stunk of fat long after we had left and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Awful place and awful customer service.
