A good to average establishment. Baguettes, paninis, cakes (good) and ice creams. We ended up here twice and it was a welcome stop both times. There are signs directing you to the cafe for miles around. The ones up from the coast are particularly enticing but note that if you approach from the beach the sign says something like " cafe 10 minutes , uphill". While this is fairly accurate it doesn't quite capture the gradient and slippiness of the path. One wrong step and 10 minutes uphill (panting for breath) could turn into 30 seconds downhill backside slalom.

We stumbled across this tearoom in a garden centre quite by chance when we were lost on the back roads between Newport and Cardigan. It was a great find, however. A lovely cup of tea and an excellent fruit scone - light as a feather - with clotted cream and jam. Well worth getting lost for!

A great little cafe, situated in a garden centre in Moylegrove...we'd been down enjoying Newport beach and followed the signs down some very twisty and steep welsh country roads...but by god it was worth it!! Mrs B is a bit of an expert on cake, and her verdict on the coffee and walnut offering forms the title of this review. I had the chocolate orange cake, and it was excellent - moist, light and very tasty while the dowager Mrs B enjoyed some Victoria sandwich. All the cakes were home made, the coffee was very good, and overall the service was friendly and welcoming. We'll be back, despite the scary roads!

At £9 for an enormous breakfast the ingredients were not the best and either deep fried or over overcooked. Not great sadly

Café in the National Library of Wales. A bit pricey - but otherwise a good hot chocolate and cake.

My wife and I were looking forward to lunch (we have never been here before)... we asked what was suitable for vegans? The (confused) assistant behind the counter said 'we can make you some toast with oil on it'... Wow... Is that really all Artisans has to offer vegans? I would have given no stars , but Google won't let me... UPDATE: Having seen the response from the owner (albeit 2 years later) and seeing the owners defensive and arrogant response to ANY negative reviews I definitely will not be returning... I assume there is still an absolute paucity of vegan options available? Other (far better) local cafes are available, where the management do not have such a high handed and dismissive attitude towards complaints. What happened to 'putting the customer first'? Or listening to complaints with a constructive and positive attitude? And having spoken to other locals, the food is not all that either.... and if you are unhappy with the food or service don't bother complaining as you will get short shrift. Clearly the management have taken a leaf out of the Basil Fawlty school of customer service...

Very sad to hear what has happened to this lovely cafe. Visited twice earlier in the year while on holiday. First visit arrived on the train and second visit by car as we'd enjoyed the food, friendly atmosphere and the setting so much. Very disappointed in The Vale of Rheidols decision.
