Waited horrendously long time to be served. Queue was endless. Four members of staff serving who were disorganised and inefficient. Food wasn't bad but wouldn't go back as it was just so badly run

I joined the queue at this not busy café where in front of me was a lady who had been at the front for at 8/10 minutes being served a couple of beverages and snacks, then a couple then me. It appeared the single female server was having an issue with the till. The server prodded at the till, wandered off a few times prodded a bit more and then after about 8 minutes another member of staff turned up and she also prodded at the till while talking to the server. After 10 minutes of being totally ignored, uninformed of what was happening and watching a server who was providing an excellent demonstration of ‘customer service ignorance’ I left.

Stopped off for a cup of tea and cake after walking around Dunelm. Straight away, there were many tables with dirty crockery. So much that we had to move the trays ourselves to get a table, meaning the tables were not sanitised. I then went to queue and was stood in the queue for nearly 10 minutes. When I got to ordering I was told there was no scones left even though there was one in the display chiller and I mentioned this and got told "I dont think that one is any good now". I ordered 2 teas and a mocha and 2 pieces of cake. The wait for this felt like forever! I work in a coffee shop myself and know for a fact a small, simple order like that should be complete within a few minutes, not 10! After finally sitting back down, I looked around and only 2 tables were clear ready for customers. Whilst stood waiting I also overheard a customer saying their milk was off too which isn't great. For something that was only supposed to be "a quick cup of tea", this visit left us feeling very disappointed as it could be so much nicer with very minor changes.

Although I agree with some of the other commentators on their dissatisfaction with the cafe at Dunelm, I can say from my first visit to a Dunelm store that the rest of the store (the home furnishings etc) was excellent. Anyway, back to the talking about the cafe. Family and friends have told me about Dunelm at Wisbech for years but I had not visited before this visit a few weeks back. Anyway, the family had visited with had been before but had only popped into the store quickly for some bedlinen and had not visited the cafe part before either so it was a new experience for all of us. So of the points others have said I agree with but can say that the bacon bap and cake I had (which if memory serves me correctly was a Coffee and Walnut sponge cake slice) were delicious. Would pop in again when we go to Dunelm again (which may be soon as I've seen some things I would like to get as presents. At least the service here was more pleasant than the Electrical store next to Dunelm, but that will have to wait for another time.....

Visited and first impressions were not great. Lots of dirty tables which needed clearing. Limited choice of food due to running out of items. Trays were soaking wet after coming out of the dishwasher and we had to dry them using paper tissues. Staff appeared miserable and unable to offer a smile whilst serving. I wanted a toasted sandwich but was advised it would take at least 10 minutes, so didn't bother. Hand dryer in the gents didn't work. All in all a big disappointed. Clearly staff are not happy and motivated hence the poor standard and service. Will not go back.

We popped in for toasted sandwiches and tea. My husband currently needs the use of a wheelchair. This for the past month has been minus a foot support. We have reported it, but nothing has been done. The gents toilet has been out of use for the past 3 weeks (awaiting the maintenance man!!!) Otherwise the Store is fine. Mainly helpful staff. Need to up their ideas for disabled customers.

Popped in for a coffee and snack, the panini was very nice as was the Americano, but I'm not sure what went wrong with the latte, at least it was supposed to be a latte. Latte (in England) is usually served in a glass mug. Steamed milk with a shot of espresso and finished with a dab of foam. The 'Latte' we were served had zero foam and looked like milky coffee with floating 'bits' which may or may not have been scummy bits of froth, it certainly didn't look appetising. I asked if it was the right drink and the lady serving me just said "yes, it's a latte." I said "A latte usually has a froth on top" and she stared at the cup, then at me, with a completely blank look and said "That's a latte." It tasted like a weak, cheap instant coffee to be honest. Drinkable but certainly not nice. Weird, as the Americano was quite good. Unfortunately due to the attitude of the server and the awful latte we won't be returning.

impromptu visit to this cafe today. Had a wander round dunelm and hubby suggested elevenses! wide selection if fresh and unusual cakes. I had dark chocolate and orange tart whilst other half had lemon meringue. had madeleine, peach and buttermilk chose cake, latte cake, black cherry and almond slice - amongst others I can't quite remember. service was very friendly and reasonable prices. people didn't appear to wait long for jackets, paninis etc. ... All fresh made to order. definitely would go again!

Worst coffee and cake I've had (and that includes British Rail!). Suggest you just shop in Dunelm, don't try and eat there.

Really disappointed with our visit today. I’ve been lots of times before and have been a little less happy each time. We were there early, which I can appreciate means things are not quite ready or turned on so the 40 minute wait, whilst frustrating is explainable. It was also freezing so I spent most of my meal with my coat on. I asked the (very friendly) waitress for a flat white and she said they could only do latte or cappuccino which I was confused over as they are the same ingredients but when I saw that the coffee was made using an instant sachet it made sense. I couldn’t believe it but thought surely this will be reflected in the price…it was not…£4 for an instant coffee. Such a shame. They did not have hashbrowns (which is a permanent thing on a Monday or a Friday so should be reflected on the menus?) which was a shame. I ordered the pancakes which have always been a hit when I’ve had them before but on this occasion the bottom one was so crispy/burnt - again I think this must have been the first one, we all know the first one is always a duff but don’t serve it and expect the customer not to notice. I can’t fault the waitress she was doing her best. It was hard to not hear the elderly couple across the table from us complaining about their cold food and the missing honey butter from their pancakes. Felt sad for them. One of the waitress also had a hole in her leggings which doesn’t give good impressions. This restaurant has so much potential but they can’t seem to keep their standards high enough when it’s really quiet or really busy. I worked in a restaurant for over 10 years and can forgive a lot but £4 for instant latte means I won’t return again.

Lovely place warm and friendly. The staff were friendly and efficient. I had the fillet steak which came on a hot plate so I could cook it to how I wanted it which was a great idea so it remained hot. I chose the home made chips which were perfect and a good amount with the tomatoes, onion rings, coleslaw and condiments it was very filling. My wife had ribeye steak and she also enjoyed it. What a fantastic place we will be going back again soon. Thank you.👍😃
