Served by a very pleasant member of staff. Good coffee, served in a proper cup with extra hot water and cold tap water to drink no problem either. Delicious food and patisserie.

Lacklustre staff who all looked like deer caught in headlights. Baguettes were hard as rocks and tasteless. Also very cold! Never again!

Paul’s has left one of the worst impressions on me compared to any café I’ve visited in London. Influenced by the overall 4 star reviews, I visited for a cake and a drink— all-around horrible. As a fellow hospitality worker I understand that you get tired close to closing hours, but staff there didn’t seem to want to do their job at all….. The drinks we ordered tasted like pure syrup, and the staff left the cakes we ordered on the tabletop and didn’t let us know it was there. We had been standing there waiting for about ten minutes with the staff looking back at us several times and STILL not informing us that our cakes were ready to collect until we asked. No thank-you’s or welcomes or smiles, just pure attitude. The cakes were also really dry and not of good quality at all. Definitely don’t recommend…. Especially for the price !!

Cafe where I was only allowed to have a take away coffee despite the cafe still having one hour until the official closing time. When I questioned this, no explanation was provided. There were no customers. No surprise with this level of ridiculous customer service. I emailed their head office who weren't particularly helpful. I went to a nearby cafe and had a dine in coffee and service with a smile.

Delicious falafel sandwich and also the chocolate mousse, the bakery is in a very famous area, near the bridge, and they have many nice vegan options.

Nice bakery with great choices of bread, sandwiches and cakes which I have loved to buy for many years...but their staff is an absolute disgrace. Never a smile, always seems they are doing you a favour. Really a terrible experience - which is a shame, given the great product they offer

Well, what should I say? I had a very bad experience here. Staff looked very bored and even gave me a wrong item, tables were dirty and honestly, as this place is pretty expensive, I really do not think my customer experience was any closer to being up to acceptable standard. On top of this, it seems the blackboard exhibited inside is asking for a 5 star review in exchange for a free coffee. So essentially, this means this branch (I really hope it's only this one) persuades people to lie using their profile to advertise positively something that is actually quite the opposite.

By the standard of an Islington Upper Street coffee shop this one is near the bottom of the list, even more shocking as the brand PAUL is meant to be more premium than the Neros and Starbucks that put this place in the shade. Positives are that the food is good, coffee adequate so takeaway is ok. Also it’s very small and basically empty so not too noisy to sit in. However the ambience is awful a fairly miserable seating area, made worse by a deafeningly loud machine in the cupboard that has been locked open for some reason?? I closed the door which was wide open when we arrived but could not completely due to the lock. Staff very odd, no other customers, 3 staff but still very extremely slow, gave me a takeaway cup when I was drinking in, (despite giving my friends mugs?!). When I came in a girl was sat in normal clothes on the bar casually chatting to the guy who worked there, were weird, like I was interrupting them. They offer free coffee for any 5 star reviews, I still couldn’t bring myself to do it, but that explains all the 5 stars for this low quality venue! Visited at Sunday lunchtime.

30 minutes before the closing time they are already closing down. You won’t be able to sit. They try to not serve in dishware as well so there’s no need to wash the dishes. I just feel that the workers really don’t want to serve…

I am appalled with the service. I ordered a cake and payed extra £5.99 for DELIVERY, and called minutes before it was going to arrive and they said that they don't do delivery?? I am quite honestly mortified with information I received and how I payed an extra £5 pounds for the delivery. I personally think this disgusting behaviour and that's why im writing this review , I ended up paying around £90 to get the cake here!! I had to get my daughter to get the cake on HER BIRTHDAY? and the customer service was absolutely horrendous. I do not recommend to get any cakes here if you are expecting delivery. I am mostly annoyed that my daughter has to cake the cake by herself after we clearly chose delivery!

Small, good quality, limited range

Tarte aux Fruits Rouges ordered for New Year celebration was disappointing in taste. Pastry had a bitter flavour - overdone, imo. See photo - and Check your item before you leave!

Sunday 8th of January, went to Paul to pick up my Galette. I was very excited to share the tradition with my son, it was his first time. But when I got home I realised the crown was missing. I call expressing my disappointment. Andrea a shop assistant went so much beyond what I could expect, he jump in the bus to bring me a crown at home. Andrea, thank you very much, you made our day.

The staff is lovely and very helpful. Orders are always prepared on time for pick up. Fresh and clean.

Want to give 5 stars, they have really good pastries, but for takeaway only.. the old Paul’s Parisian ambience has left the building. The manageress that was there for years is no longer there and it’s a noticeable change. The tables in the front are all gone- they did this during covid and haven’t brought them back. Used to be a nice and comfortable place to sit and watch the world go by. Felt like you were in Paris. There are still tables in the back area, but those (and the loo) always needed a refresh and weren’t as cozy as the front. We stopped ordering coffees a while back because they were always made badly. Never seen so much milk put in cappuccinos. Will have to try them again…

Worst customer service,ordered a cappuccino large and it was filled less than half and the rest just with froth all the way to the top..I will definitely not be going back again,there are other better coffee shops in the area.

Got a very burned palmier and only realised when I got home

Went in for take away in the morning. There was a queue as there was only one staff in the shop, but she was as efficient as she can be and was very friendly. Maybe not always a good place to grab a coffee in a hurry, but it's a nice bakery cafe with lots of love pastries and beautiful cakes. Bread was looking nice, too. I should try that next time.

Went to this establishment for the first and very last time! Very rude guy works there! Made us feel very unwelcome as we asked them for a table where 4 of us could sit, and as we pulled 2 chairs together seeing as no one was around apart from one other customer! He came over and gave us a telling off! So we said we might go elsewhere and he said ‘yeah go then!’ Sure his manager would not be happy him having lost 4 regular customers!

I usually have a good experience here hence the 3 stars but I was disappointed that they messed up my cake order plus their bakery misspelled the message on the cake. They refused to give a partial refund and insisted that I ordered the wrong cake. Mistakes happen but it would have been nice to see some ownership and attempts to make things right instead of the blame game they engaged in.

Walked in and atrocious attitude from the staff. Didn't acknowledge anyone walking in and was rude when they eventually did acknowledge us. Displays were bare. Don't waste your time. Went down the road to Gail's, (20yds away) completely opposite of this waste of a cafe

1 of the bigger Paul patisseries in London that I have been too, excluding the one by tower bridge. Good selection all round, presented very well, coffee I found to be slightly bitter, so I don't know if this particular one has different coffee machines compared to the others I've tried. Staff all very polite and welcoming. Although they seemed a bit shocked that I had the Paul app.

slowest service I have ever experienced, staff basically ignores you when you have been waiting to order for 5 minutes. All three staffs on the shop floor busy packing deliveroo orders and ignore customers on the shop floor. The lady in front of me waited about 10mins for one cup of coffee. I would avoid. There is a Gails literally down the road.
