Need more staff. Stood waiting to be seated for over 5 mins. Not enough staff on, all looking at me stood next to the wait to be seated sign but no indication that they are coming over at any point. And if it takes this long to be seated, getting a coffee etc will be a long wait. Dissapoiting

Went on my birthday to get there free £5 birthday vouchers, I didn’t know how to do it and the person who was serving me what very patient and helpful telling me how to do it!! I got a chocolate & orange cake slice, it was delicious 8.5/10 the swirl it had on to was the best part of that cake!! Very pricey so I’d only be able to have it as a treat!

Highlight - Good pastries, terrible coffee. I was looking for a good coffee and thought of trying here. I had the mille-feuille and coffee. First of all the Mille-feuille was great, really enjoyed that. Although the coffee left a lot to be desired. I am more of an espresso drinker and first thing is it’s only available as a double espresso, secondly it was served in a big mug and thirdly and most importantly it was very bitter and not enjoyable. The service wasn’t great. I had to ask for sugar and they dropped off 3 small packs. Overall it was a bit miserable. Good pastries, terrible coffee.

Not a great experience. Milk had white lumps floating in it and eggs Benedict were cold. Server replaced our drinks. Very slow service and noticeable stains on servers apron, which was off putting.

I attended the Cheshire Oakes branch, ordered the salmon and cream cheese bagel, the salad with it was just a few leaves!! the waitress who served it to me literally shoved it on the table, not very polite at all, quite rude, very miserable, couldn’t even see the soft cheese hardly anything there, so dry, customers either side of me had to complain as waited so long for their order when they came they said it was cold, a full cooked breakfast! First time been in there will definitely not return or recommend to anyone. Not very professional at all, staff not very helpful and menu not cheap either for this type of service!! The cakes looked beautiful but would be tainted by the service snd atmosphere !

The waitress who served us actually rolled her eyes when we asked for 2 baguettes between three of us which we thought was not at all professional, as one of our party only has a very small appetite Then before we had finished our drinks she plonked the bill on the table and stood with the card machine in her hand whilst we were talking. How very rude and unwelcoming! We most certainly would not return and wished we had walked a bit further and gone to costa .

A quiet and beautiful place, a café in the middle of the large mall. The coffee is good and tastes delicious, the desserts are also delicious and the staff are friendly. It was a beautiful and enjoyable day. 😍

I must say I’ve not visited Patisserie Valerie for a long time as the ones in Bristol city centre have closed. When I visited the one in Cribbs Causeway today I was most impressed with the decor, atmosphere, great coffee and cakes on offer. However what impressed me the most was the impeccable customer service by one of the team, his name was Alex. I actually called him over and expressed how impressed I was by his presentation first, impeccably dressed & groomed, welcomed all with a smile, very professional, helpful (my coffee had lots of foam which he changed straight away). It was the way he carried himself, confident which to a customer is reassuring. Under him the place run like a so smooth, like a well oiled machine, very impressed and as a business owner myself I notice these details. Thank you Alex for an enjoyable visit which won’t be my last.

Had a lovely experience! Lovely staff, really good food! Came in yesterday for lunch with my Grandma, we took our time and had a coffee first and then ordered our food just while we had a proper catch up and we didn’t feel rushed. The staff were really lovely and attentive, made sure we had what we needed. I am intolerant to dairy and they were really great when I asked about ingredients. I ordered the Caesar salad and asked about the dressing and our server (whose name I didn’t catch but was a really lovely Romanian lady, blonde with amazing tattoos) double checked with the kitchen and brought out the bottle to show me the ingredients so I could check that there wasn’t dairy in it. She also brought me dairy free butter which I didn’t even consider. It was really lovely to have her go above and beyond and I really appreciated it. My Grandma also commented on how lovely the staff were, how good the food was and how beautiful and bright the new layout of the place looked. All in all a lovely experience and would definitely recommend! Keep up the good work.

Waited almost an hour for food, again.

I came in to take away a full size party cake off the counter for the first time. I waited at the sign to be seated/to be served and was studiously ignored. I understand they're short staffed but they didn't even acknowledge me. I went to the counter myself and then left. Poor service.

It looks nice, that's about it. The service wasn't great because there didn't seem to be enough staff. Servers looked overly stressed. The food wasn't interesting at all. We had a vegetarian skillet, all day bkfts, and kids pancakes. There wasn't much flavor to any of it. Pancakes were even hard! I wouldn't recommend it.

We thought we would try this venue following it's refurbishment. To say disappointed is THE understatement. My "weak, decaffeinated latte, with no foam" was too strong, with about > 1cm of foam ( enough that I skimmed it off onto my saucer). and so tepid I drank it straight down. We were both surprised that a patisserie cafe did not cater for gluten free. There are so many delicious GF cakes out there... so to have NOTHING??🤷🏻‍♀️ Needless to say we will not return.

The woman at the till with dark hair is rude with customers. I went to this cafe this morning, I asked the woman at the till for help, but she didn't answer me, I asked for help a second time because I thought she didn't hear me and she arrogantly replied that she could hear me and I had to wait, I kept waiting, she was walking around me but didn't pay attention, it was unpleasant.

Three stars given as there were some positives. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone with an allergy as Patisserie Valerie are not accommodating, the milk alternatives they have are coconut & soya and the only vegan (and therefore dairy free option) is a lotus cake, no option for vegan scones. The refit is lovely and though I was unable to eat the scones, they did look lovely. Time from ordering to receiving food was reasonable. Negatives: I’m guessing the manager (due to his lack of uniform and casual jeans) did not have the best customer service skills. He was not helpful when it came to me asking about allergies, even after saying I’d have a black tea due to allergies he still brought over cows milk. I did not receive or was asked if I wanted sugar and didn’t know where to get it myself.

We called into Patisserie Valerie at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway, for the first time in a while and were pleased to see the furnishings have been tastefully upgraded - a welcome improvement. The coffee was good although the Double Macchiato could have been hotter. And the speed of service was perhaps a little leisurely, given the restaurant was not too busy. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our visit.

Just had the breakfast skillet it was not edible but staff were not interested. One said they would tell manager but it went no further.

Really high quality food and great service! Waiter was very attentive and helpful and even was offered us refills twice until we were full up. We had the afternoon tea, with cake slices and coffees. Afternoon tea was tasty, scones and macaroons were fresh and crispy yet soft in the middle, perfect.

Will visit again soon! Great breakfast

I went out with my mom, we had to wait a little for the food, but it was busy so i think that is normal! Lovely staff and very friendly!

The new refit looks good. Very busy and definitely worth a visit. Good selection of food as well as cakes. Didn't have to wait long for a table. As food is cooked fresh, expect a bit of a wait for it to arrive well worth it.

We called into this restaurant at Cribbs Causeway for a morning brunch and had the toasted sourdough BLT’s priced at £9.95. Had these been sandwiches ‘made with integrity’ I would have not have had a complaint, regrettably they totally lacked filling and hence integrity in the making. The sandwich consisted of a tired and wilted lettuce leaf, one mini tomato cut into two and one measly rasher of streaky bacon. A total rip off for £9.95. Many of these Valerie restaurants went into liquidation as a result of the pandemic and I can certainly see why this happened. How on Earth is this place surviving selling food which is very poor value for money such as our experiences on a daily basis? It amazes us how this place is surviving serving up sandwiches of this quality is beyond belief. No one with a mediocre of common sense would ever wish to return to this place and be totally ripped off, particularly for a second time, when there is extensive competition in this Mall which gives MUCH MUCH BETTER VALUE FOR MONEY. We naturally will NOT be returning…………to VALERIE’S any time soon.

They have redone the entire style for the restaurant which is really nice but Staff were particularly rude. I asked for a glass of water and I could see he was huffing and puffing because the restaurant was busy but I wouldn’t mind waiting. He then gave me a soaking glass of water with black bits in it and walked away. I then ran back towards him to let him know, he told me ‘ok’ but ignored me and continued to do other things. I felt awful having to be treated this way just because of a glass of water. I am definitely not coming here again if he still works there. Awful

Very disappointed. They close 1hr earlier than displayed time! Previously had a lovely afternoon tea experience but this time we (family of 4) arrived after being at the cinema for afternoon tea 1hr before their closing time. Suspected something was up when no one came to show us to a table at the entrance even though we were clearly visible. Only after waiting we sat at a table and were told by a staff member sitting at the next table that they are only accepting takeaway orders! I get this may suit the staff in leaving work on time i.e. at 17.00, but is not clearly ideal towards customers who see the time states they are open for business until 17.00. Just put 16.00, as it is I will just take my custom elsewhere.

Very disappointed we’ve been many times for for a coffee ,lunch and cakes , but this will be our last time being in this line for business myself I do think it’s down to management. Short staff waiting for someone to show us to a table took ages while the shop was only half full , only half of our order had been brought to the table no apologies staff looked miserable. We regularly travel aboard to different European countries snd we enjoy going into different coffee:cakes shops and what a massive difference in the customer service .

Awful experience from start to finish! You can wait for a good few minutes before they will serve you if you are at the till and if you have a table service ,,, good luck! There is no concept of acknowledge customers are preparing their order in the way day arrived (till service) And it’s nothing, but three star bakery On the back of known brand, but of course at extortionate prices! Even McDonald’s food&coffee tastes better

Visited today and service was awful. We waited almost 20 minutes for 3 teas! How hard is it to make tea? When we asked how long it would be we never got an answer, just a shrug and a hand gesture. We were far from the only people complaining!! There were a lot of waiting staff standing about doing nothing, whilst one person seemed to be making drinks. I ordered a cream tea at £8.95 and received one scone which is ridiculous. We won’t be visiting again.

The food was disappointing. The eggs Royal was obviously sitting on the side for ages before being served - the hollandaise sauce was clotted, and the eggs were rubbery. My wife had the sausage skillet - the sausage was dry, but they didn't even have any ketchup. On a positive note the staff were friendly.

Food ok, but have had better at P.V. in the past. Cappuccino was lukewarm at best. Worst of all is the push to make you order on the infernal app which totally dehumanises the experience.

It takes ages to get someone to serve you and many people are walking out because they don't get served in a reasonable time. We've been coming here for many years but this service in this new place is putting us off coming again

Oh dear. Although there seemed to be lots of staff around, service was far from good. Firstly a waitress was going to put down a drink on my table. I explained it couldn't be mine as I hadn't ordered yet. No apology, just shouted across the restaurant 'YOU'VE GOT IT WRONG AGAIN'. BLT arrived but had to wait awhile for my coffee. Sandwich was not enjoyable, the bacon was hardly edible. Best part was the crisps. While I was eating two separate people came to the till. First one said they'd been waiting 20 minutes with no order taken so they were leaving. Second person said their coffee had arrived with no sign of their food. Certainly won't be visiting again.

A great selection of cakes and drinks for a lunch time catch up. Friendly staff and always a nice experience.

Very very disappointed. I went there two days ago at around 10:50 am. Waited more than 15 minutes at the “please wait to be seated” sign with my 3 year old. There was no excuse - half of the seats were empty, both waitress saw us many times but both kept ignoring us. It only took less than 1 minute to take us to any seat and give us a menu and we would actually stayed because we really wanted to!!! Other people in front of us left as well - same situation!

Went here with my friend and decided to have the vegan version (“vegan option available”) of the vegetarian breakfast. When I enquired what the vegan option was, I was told it was the vegetarian breakfast….without the egg! So logically every dish on the menu can be made vegan as long as animal related items are left out, genius! Lazy and lacking imagination.

Definitely not worth it. The cleanness of the shop was awful, the cutleries were obviously dirty and had stains on them. The pastries tasted like they’d been in the store for quite a while. And overall, it was way expensive for what they worth.

I would give a zero star if I could. Bad service and ignoring customer .

A lovely place for a coffee & the cakes are amazing . We stopped for lunch here today & as usual it was really good . I ordered Eggs Benedict which are my favourite sadly the poached eggs were overdone too hard no runny yolks ! Bit disappointed today .

My previous employer paid for me and my family to have afternoon tea following 20 years of continuous service, so we were really looking forward to a nice treat. Unfortunately, the 2 hour visit was a let down! 1x coffee and 2x sprite arrived promptly but my wife’s tea arrived 15mins after. The sandwiches, scones and cakes then took 1 hour to arrive after the drinks, however the afternoon tea stand for 2 arrived 15 apart from each other. All very disappointed I’m afraid and I will not be returning any time soon. Tbf the manager apologised and offered a free takeaway cake but we declined following the sugary treats already eaten. Struggle to comment on the quality of the food, as the experience was spoiled by the wait times and one very poor waitress.

Long wait for hot brunch which was served lukewarm, complained to a member of staff, but she couldn’t really give a sh1t.. Shame :(

Tomato and basil soup was execellent but the rest of the food looked tired. Chips both under and over cooked, work that out. Poached egg was hard boiled. Smashed avocado on toast just didn’t taste fresh.

Went for the standard afternoon tea. Server was useless when it came to allergies and even wasn't sure what was vegetarian. He stated the strawberry cheesecakes aren't vegetarian because they have strawberries on. Doesn't give much confidence. Waited 20mins for a scone and it was really small for the price, also was really dry and hard like it had been reheated twice. If you have any dietary requirements I'd avoid it. I'm anaphylaxis to things and he was well I think it should be ok.

It was ok, nice coffee and cake, slow service, only 2 members of staff ?

I have no issue queuing for a table but do expect some sort of acknowledgment from the many members of staff that kept walking past me. There were no smiles, welcomes or any customer service skills demonstrated at all. When seated eventually they tried to get us to wait longer so they could sit us at a slightly smaller table that hadn't been cleaned! Despite their being 4 tables infront of me cleaned and ready to go. We ordered no problem but again not hello or anything. Then cutlery was just dropped on the table inches middle of the table again not a word from the waitress. The food at best was OK buy then considering the price I would say you can get alot better elsewhere for alot less! And also receive good customer service which is none existent here! Very poor experience overall

Dire - left stood waiting at the entrance with an 88 year old. Staff milling around completely oblivious to waiting customers. If this is the level of staff training then no wonder the business is in administration. One Star review as it’s bot possible to leave less.

. The chap at Patisserie Valerie was a bit off hand when he explained that they were closed for "eating/ drinking in at the tables". We asked how much for a takeaway cup of tea for me and my wife. He kind of said a price off the top of his head £3 per cup! Not sure if that was the correct price or that he just said that just to fob us off. I understand that they were closed for eating in, but the employee had a bad attitude and gave poor customer service. No stars!

Shockingly bad. Went there with my sister and boyfriend on the Sunday 31/10/21 and all of our meals were tasteless, extremely small portions, definitely all heated from frozen and cost us just over £30. My sisters Welsh rarebit was nice, but again, so so small! She finished it in 4 bites. Ordered avocado on toast with a poached egg and it was the tiniest slice of bread with a very watery poached egg on top. Club sandwich was dry and chewy. Lastly, the breakfast smoothie was served warm! A warm smoothie I kid you not! I'm actually still seething from the experience and I really hope that someone does something about this. There is no excuse for selling people such poor quality food.

Don’t recommend you look closely at your cake, you’ll realise how long it’s been on display as it’s gathered dust. Breakfast came out cold and old browning salad. Gone down hill.

Ok. Most memorable thing was that the service was very variable depending. Baguette was delicious with sad, limp salad on the side. No napkin offered. Slice of red velvet very dry, but it was 5pm by then.

Very comfortable to sit in staff on the ball and polite.

Online ordering was simple and the staff where helpful. Can’t say much about the fancy pastries though! I was enticed by the fancy, glamourising eclairs advertised, and received what must have been the runt of the litter in a GCSE food tech class.

Visited here for a cream tea (pre lockdown 2) and it was amazing. I had food intolerances and they were more than happy to help with the choice of sandwiches and make changes that were needed to accommodate me. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The price was good value for what you get. The sandwiches, cakes and drinks were amazing. Service was speedy. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Good social distancing measures are in place. Can't wait to visit again when lockdown is finished.

Tried using the app but says it has an error. But me and my friend brought a chocolate gateau instead and it was delicious, staff are friendly and covid-19 rules taken into consideration ( eg staff wearing masks)

We were told when we last went for Brunch, 2 weeks ago, that there was no need to book for afternoon tea. There clearly was!! We have always booked at Swindon outlet and received a delicious tea, including quiche and double the sandwiches we were given today. No quiche. No plain scones so I chose to have a cheese one but it could have been plain - think they forgot to add the cheese. We too were given marmalade but our waitress, who was lovely, soon got us some strawberry jam. To cap it all off, our Buy a gift Voucher included 4 cakes. We wanted to come home with 4 custard slices, our favourite, but at 11 am, there were NONE!!! Everything appears to be safe here, however, just a very disappointing afternoon tea for the amount charged. Won't be going to this branch again.

Visited 12 Oct. Lovely food as always. Tan, the waitress, was very helpful - she suggested a single shot cappuccino in a smaller cup (I never knew such an option existed!) for my mother who likes small drinks and was also very helpful with gluten free options. Thank you - will be back!

very very disappointed with the afternoon tea for two....took my grandaughter for a birthday treat and the sandwiches were ham &mustard...butter &cucumber and houmous& peppers cakes were stale....we left more than we ate and the waitress offered us a box to take left overs home!! no thanks never going there again........

We were gifted a voucher for Afternoon Tea here so went along. Sad to say it was a pretty negative experience. We were shown to what must surely be one of the worst tables in the place on arrival & then ignored whilst the server socialised with people seated at a nearby table. After a long tedious wait another server took pity on us & agreed to our request to move to a better table. We ordered & were served the tea. The presentation was poor & it was visually untempting. The sandwiches were rough & ready but tasted pleasant enough if you were hungry. Once scone each, one plain dull one & a fruit one which was so dried up & rock hard you could sole your shoe with it. Cutting into it, it just crumbled to dust. There was a strange collection of cakes, all shapes & sizes & they looked like factory made cakes with a mass produced taste. We were offered regular refills of our hot drinks. The place is unattractive & depressing. I saw the price of the tea on the menu & can safely say it is grossly overpriced, there is far better on offer for a smaller price at nicer venues locally. I felt bad for the friends who gifted us this. Very poor.

Very clean, lovely cake, ideal place to stop for a refreshments. Friendly staff especially Sadie she was extremely nice as our server each time we have come in for a quick stop. Give it a go for a little extra treat.

We went to this branch on a Saturday to have a pleasant experience afternoon tea with our visiting relatives. We purchased the afternoon tea through groupon (2 vouchers for 4 people) and we've done this before with a pleasant experience. Needless to say and after telling the waiter that we wanted vegan / fish kinds of sandwiches, we were served HALF the usual amount that we usually get in Patisserie Valerie. We even checked other photos on google for this particular branch to check if this is their norm and surprisingly it wasn't which suggests there some sort of discrimination in question but I will not go as far to assume that. Apart from the unfair amounts and the long waiting time, the hygiene in the cutlery provided was unacceptable, I usually am not that picky and do not really focus on these details but you can't just ignore the spots and remains in the tea cups and cutlery provided. I don't like posting bad reviews but to be honest it had to be done as this was possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences from a very unexpected high quality place I've had in a while.

Very safe, staff incredibly friendly and service prompt. The new menu is fantastic with well priced delicious food. Had a wonderful experience...also 1!2 price so even better!

Visited Patisserie Valerie today and was very disappointed. There was a faint smell of wee in the resturant. The glass smelt raw and the food was bland. We paid £44 which I think was expensive for what we got. I will not be visiting here again.

Eat in food was hot and tasty, service OK but had to ask for additional knifes and spoons as none /not enough provided. Staff member serving us didn't wear a face masks (and we didn't see any anti bacterial use etc) and he came very close when taking our order and serving food etc (closer than we're allowed to get to friends and family!) so if he has the virus or anything else then all of his customers will have it. We bought a few slices of cake to takeaway which they handled without gloves/utensils. There was a small queue to get in but not many tables were in use so the queue went down slowly. There were other places to eat nearby with longer queues, plastic screens and staff wearing masks - I think I know why there was a bigger queue now! Kitchen staff appeared to help clear tables and cook so potential passing of germs etc. We won't be returning anytime soon and hope we aren't ill.

Went here for a Mother’s Day treat as part of a voucher and it was amazing! They couldn’t do enough for us and boxed up anything we couldn’t eat. All food was delicious.

The cake I ordered was the tasteless cake I’ve ever tried. It was not worth the money I paid for. The service when I ordered was ok even though they changed the price in an instant. When I received the cake the service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I regret ordering a cake from you.

Three of us called in for a hot drink and a cake. I ordered a hot chocolate but was not asked if I wanted cream and marshmallows. I noticed other customers ordering hot chocolate were given this option. The service was slow. Our cakes arrived a while before our drinks. We waited a while to pay and even getting up and waiting at the till didn't prompt them in to action. Not once were we asked if everything was OK. The menu looked good and the food being delivered to nearby tables looked good. Our cakes were nice. The service let it down. It was also pricey for what we got.

I lunched here alone a few days ago. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. I was offered a table but asked for another, which I was given. I had a delicious bowl of soup, which was tasty and a good sized portion. The bill was reasonable, so all I all a pleasant experience.

Nice food. Bread baton exceptional. Found my chicken salad baton a little spicy, but partners steak one was excellent for his taste. A good place to go for lunch if shopping, but usually busy. Is a bit noisy there, as it's in an open food area. Not their fault though. Nearby toilets. As it's in a complex, plenty of free parking.

Awful, ignored for 20 minutes and then not a single aspect of the order was correct - took another 15 minutes to fix. Barely average food and not worth the wait.

Been about 3 times here and probably wouldn't bother again. Cakes used to be a lot nicer with better selection. Quite expensive compared to other places. Last time visited with a friend (who can't have gluten) we seated and took turns to look at the cake selection and were most unimpressed. No options for my friend and only tiny bits of uninspiring cake left for choice for me so left without ordering anything. Used to be such a nice place to visit, a real treat. Not anymore, so unfortunately probably won't visit again.

I went back in line eventually someone came , no apology, not sure why I did not leave. Any way had coffee but decided not to eat as it could be a long wait. Won’t be going back.

Absolutely appalling service, waited over 45 minutes to receive our cakes, was going to be a treat for my parents but we had finished our drinks and still sat waiting, we left without the cakes in the end. And the staff did not care at all. Very disappointing

Gone down hill - Gluten Free disaster zonePatisserie Valerie has been our “go-to” choice at the Mall because of it’s simple menu and availability of Gluten free bread for sandwiches. The recent change in menu and apparent change in management direction has removed all GF bread seriously limiting choices. It’s also VERY disappointing that there is ZERO labelling on the menu system to help those with dietary requirements, leaving a statement to “ask staff” - who simply didn’t know what was available or why it had changed. The Menu has good coverage for “choices” like being vegetarian and vegan, but no consideration for those with specific dietary needs like Gluten Free. This is like stepping back into the past 10 years. Very disappointing. Patisserie Valerie - please think again and support customers who have been loyal to you for years.

I often visit this branch of patisserie Valerie. I always have the same thing, which is a breakfast or poached eggs on toast. Today I had brioche toast with banana and maple syrup. It was very nice but very poor value. It cost £8 and for that you got 1 piece of toast, half a banana and a small amount of maple syrup. I can’t believe it’s a reasonable price for this food. My friend had avocado on toast which was also very poor for the money. Her meal was £5.95. I understand places need to make money but I found this appalling. I do like this but will go back to my original food.
