I got the pancakes and they were nice and fluffy they give 5 small ones which is the same to 2 big ones and the bacon was nice and smokey and that pared well with the maple, so i give this place 5 stars!

It was delicious, I had the Caramel Honeycomb and Chocolate cake with a chocolate milkshake, and I can’t recommend it enough. One of the best cakes I’ve ever had, it was really special. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

Unfortunately another bad experience here. On arrival of the breakfast it looked absolutely stunning but the eggs were overdone, beans cold and hash brown was soggy underneath. Toast was lovely as was the tomatoes, mushroom dry, guacamole on toast was ok but not overly flavourful. All served lukewarm/cold again! Was hoping for a better experience. That aside the staff on arrival and taking my order were cheerful and friendly, the place is clean and a great atmosphere, just a shame the staff didn’t check to see all was ok with my breakfast and rectify, it’s not in my nature to be confrontational and complain unless someone checks in on my meal. My pot of tea was lovely though. Not sure I want to come back again. Third time lucky maybe? 2* for staff on arrival, -3* for food and service thereafter

Bland, tasteless, Do not waste your money on these cakes or company. They refuse refunds on the basis that “taste is subjective” — but there’s a clear line between personal preference and poor quality. This wasn’t a matter of opinion; it was objectively bad. The buttercream was horrific — eggy in texture, completely lacking in sweetness, and tasted like a mix of butter and water. The sponge was very dry, like something from a cheap, mass-produced Swiss roll sponge. Again, not a hint of sweetness. It was embarrassing to serve and a total letdown for what was supposed to be a special day. Their refusal to acknowledge the issue or offer a refund speaks volumes about their customer service and standards. Spend your money elsewhere — this was a complete disaster from start to finish.

Fantastic Experience at Patisserie Valerie! I visited Patisserie Valerie today with my partner and our 2-year-old daughter, and we had an amazing experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely young staff member who seated us and took our order. She was incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed.She was also very helpful, explaining the menu options and making sure we were comfortable. Our meal was absolutely delicious! We started with a Caesar salad, which was fresh and full of flavor—definitely one of the best I’ve had. My partner ordered the Valerie Club Sandwich, and we ended up sharing both dishes because they were so good. For dessert, I ordered a pancake with extra Nutella and strawberries for my daughter, and she loved it so much she finished the whole thing! The overall experience was fantastic, from the excellent service to the delicious food. It was truly a wonderful visit, and I can’t wait to go back again!

Visited on Saturday 22nd March and overall service was not great, we asked for cake to come after our meals, it did not and we received a rude response when we raised this. We asked for carrot cake which was hard and stale and overall one of the worst carrot cakes we had ever had (we had 2 separate pieces). Our simple bagels took ages to come, and the fries we ordered alongside this were very average. The overall bill was very expensive for what we all felt was a below average meal. The waiters were all standing around not being very attentive with others and us, also very short with their responses. We will not be visiting again.

Very poor experience yesterday, directed to a table from one of the waiters and he had left the table before we arrived at it. Order was taken to which it took about 25 minutes to arrive after ordering. My partner had Croffie with strawberries and Nutella which was over cooked and I had Croque Monsieur which was lovely looking but very dry inside. Over all for lunch for 2 with one drink come to £31.33, to which service charge is automatically applied. Wouldn’t return when there are plenty of other choices at Cribbs

My sister and I came here with a gift voucher for afternoon tea. We had Baha as our server and he was very good, coming back to see if we needed more tea/coffee and felt very welcomed. Went for a surprise afternoon tea with my sister and niece and can say it was absolutely wonderful. Was served by Alessandro and Agostino who were very attentive and so polite and very friendly. Very poor experience at Patisserie Valerie. Attended recently with a group of mums with babies. All babies were well mannered, we left no mess behind and there was no crying. However we were made to feel extremely uncomfortable by staff there, who advised us that we had a 30-minute limit on how long we were welcome to use the table (in spite of the cafe being empty, and having ordered drinks) and aggressively moved pushchairs, hitting the chairs of some of my party. We have since contacted Patisserie Valerie head office who were also quite unhelpful. Overall, do not recommend for families with children. There are many other establishments (such as John Lewis Cafe) who are far more welcoming.

Went for a coffee as a group of mum’s with babies. We all ordered coffee’s, to which the rude waiter asked if we were also ordering food. On realising we weren’t eating there, the waiter told us he’d need the table back in half an hour. We did as he asked, but when I walked past the restaurant later on, our table was still empty. This waiter has consistently made us feel unwelcome, despite having ordered food and cake on past occasions. Obviously no name tags are worn, so not sure who he is, but, avoid! :)

Unbelievably rude and overpriced. I visited here as part of a group with babies, on a quiet Tuesday morning. There was plenty of seating available and not many customers so we didn’t think it would be an issue. After ordering drinks, the extremely rude waiter told us that, if we weren’t ordering food, we would have to leave within half an hour. We did as we were asked but later noted that nobody was sitting at our table after we left: they simply didn’t want us in their establishment. The coffee was also of very poor quality and exceedingly expensive. Next time, we will visit one of the many other cafes in the Mall.

Breakfast was okay but not great, pain au chocolate was tiny and massively overpriced. There is no sauces on the table only packets of sauce when you ask. They add a 12.5% service charge which is optional. Just generally it’s gone so downhill from a few years ago. Won’t bother here again.

Ordered 18 mince pies - three gift boxes of 6. When spending £50+ on mince pies, I expect good quality. Sadly whilst they looked the same as the old Patisserie Valerie mince pies before bankruptcy, they were nothing like. Now the mince meat filling is dry and tasteless, like old mince meat from last year. I remember how juicy and delicious the old mince pies were, but sadly not the same recipe, and I was extremely disappointed with the quality on Christmas Day. Won't be buying again, and when a major supermarket's in store bakery "The best deep filled mince pies" are far superior and less than a quarter of the cost, Patisserie Valerie should think of their cost cutting is worthwhile.

Not great value for money. £3.45 for a pot of tea that's a step above tea factory floor dust. They only toast 1 side of the "toast" and count on the customer not noticing. Please see pics of sides A and B of said pieces of toast. Service tax included in the bill, apparently for tipping your servers - you have to explicitly say that you want out. Patisserie Valerie counts on customers not wanting to be rude.

I was at the Cribbs Causeway Patisserie Valerie branch earlier today for lunch with a friend to celebrate a recent achievement of mine, and initially, had a lovely meal, I was there with my 5 month old baby son who did not make a sound the entire time we were there, until the last 5 minutes when it was time to go and he got a bit restless whilst in his pram….to stop him from breaking into a cry and causing others to be affected by his cries i was using one of his soft toys that has a rattle internally to try and distract him, which was working, when a female member of staff who had been making teas and coffees took it upon her self to come and very rudely tell me to stop shaking the toy as it was “very distracting” I’d like to add that I’d been using the rattle for roughly 5 minutes and had not seen anyone complain to her as she hadn’t left the spot she was on for almost the entire time I was eating, and actually was much less distracting than his crying would have been! and as in most restaurants the ambient chatter was quite loud anyway, so much so, the friend I was with hadn’t even registered the rattle, how the member of staff heard me over the coffee machine (which had been distracting to me) I don’t know, as the rattle is inside a stuffed toy so isn’t exactly on the decibel scale! I was shocked and stunned so did stop shaking the toy, but shock soon turned to anger as I couldn’t believe what had just happened, I spoke to a member of staff who called over a manager, who we relayed the situation to, he offered some free cake as an apology (but never apologised) I said what I actually wanted was some money back even if just the service charge I had paid, I had just spent a lot of money for a lunch and paid the added service charge without any hesitation, to then be spoken to like that by a member of staff was outrageous, I was told by the manager I couldn’t have my money back and I could only have free cake, which I very reluctantly agreed to, as nothing else was forthcoming, I however do not feel this even comes close to an apology for the way I was spoken to. I asked if the member of staff would be spoken to as I had been really upset by what had happened to be told she would, as I left the restaurant I saw him walk straight past her without saying a word, which disheartened me further, as I felt my complaint had not been listened to, as It was as I was leaving I am unsure if she was ever spoken to. I’d like to say I used to work in retail and am not an unreasonable person, in fact, I avoid conflict wherever possible, but feel very strongly that the experience I had was not very inclusive, it was a child’s rattle that I really don’t think was causing any harm as it really isn’t loud (he has plenty of louder toys I could have taken!) I’m very aware how offensive children’s toys can be so only take this one with me as it’s so quiet but helps soothe him, I’m concerned what may have happened if id had a child that had had difficulties that meant they could not help being noisy, would I have been told to make him stop as he was too distracting? that’s really not very inclusive at all is it? and extremely poor customer service. To be spoken to by a member of staff the way I was after spending a lot of money in the restaurant is absolutely disgusting, to then not be taken seriously by the manager just added insult to injury, I will not be eating at Patisserie Valerie again as I don’t feel welcome with my baby, I will instead spend my money somewhere I am not made to feel like I’m in the wrong for not wanting my baby to cry and impact others experiences whilst eating, I also would hate to think I happen to “distract” another member of staff in the future.

Unfortunately, really bad experience. We ordered one vegan and one veggie breakfast and we were waiting for about 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The one and only tiny mushroom looked so not fresh that I had to not eat it as it looked unsafe to eat! The only difference between the vegan and the veggie breakfast is that they just remove the 2 eggs from the order without adding anything else, but the price stays the same.. The staff was rude, I mentioned to him about the mushroom not looking very fresh and he only just said “yeah we bake them every morning” no further comment, he took the dish and left. Sadly, we left disappointed and hungry.

The lady who served us was lovely and you could tell was rushed off her feet trying to multitask, working really hard to do as much as possible to keep the place ticking over. The food took forever to arrive, it was cold when it did. The service was the worst I’ve experienced in a long time. I had to ask for water three times before I was actually served, at first I thought they didn’t hear me but that clearly didn’t seem to be the case after the second time. They forgot my sisters food, she asked one of the waiters regarding her meal but he was rude and just shrugged her off. Eventually after waiting 40 mins she got up to ask someone else who was also really rude to her and then found her meal just lying there on the counter and ended up serving her cold food. It honestly was such a rude and horrible experience. Will never visit here again.

Dreadful experience. Been here many times but this morning we went to Cribbs Causeway. Ordered drinks and brunch. The drinks took 10 minutes but after 30 minutes the food still hadn't arrived so my husband complained about the time and others were served before us. He was offered drinks as it was going to be at least another 10 minutes so he refused and declined the bill for the drinks as we had wasted so much time waiting!!! Lots of staff hanging around, others people complaining and not what you would expect from this establishment!!!!

Awful, slow, unfriendly service - we waiting at the entrance for a while whilst no staff acknowledged us, despite making eye contact. Another customer told us to sit ourselves as they had had the same experience. Eventually a member of staff sat us without menus, then came back and tossed the menus near us without speaking. We ordered a cake and a coffee, which took at least 10 minutes despite not being busy. No tables were cleared down and we had to chase someone down for the bill, as again no staff acknowledged or checked on us.

Awful food. Poor service as the staff must be constantly fielding complaints. Such a shame as this used to be such a nice place. Avoid if you can, and maybe try again in a few months

Went for Afternoon Tea....it was nothing special I'm afraid. The plain scones were so heavy, the fruit were ok but more like a rock cake. The white bread sandwiches were dried out. The brown were fine. The little cakes were nice, especially the macarons. Some of the serving staff were not friendly and really quite rude, twice i was completely ignored. I won't be going there again.

Avoid at any cost!! Or expect street food quality and service. Dirty cutlery. I bet they don’t wash cutlery in a dishwasher. Maybe they just soak them . . . Coffee’s quality was terrible. I just don’t understand how they manage to get this wrong!! A couple of hours after visiting here we all got diarrhoea. And with this level of service and hygene they add £5 optional service charge to the bill. Seriously?

Lovely coffee however croissants were barely warm. Waited a while to be served although not busy. Serving staff too busy chatting to each other and we seemed an inconvenience. In the next booth to us a member of staff was undertaking a meeting on Teams which was very loud and audible to us. Not relaxing and difficult to hear each other. When I pointed this out to the waiter when I paid he told the waitress and they laughed. Shame as menu was nice.

The food was ok, the place was dirty, the service was not great and the atmosphere was not good. Although the place was not busy we did not have a good service. The prices on the menu are not what you pay… they added Tax when we paid for the food TAX in the UK on top of menu food price… very unusual. Seem to be not great value for money, had better afternoon tea with same price range.

A very enjoyable break in a busy day. Looked after well by three members of staff. Tea was hot and full of flavour. Scone was really warm and yummy. Black Forest gateaux was heavenly and took me right back to the seventies when is was a regular as a dinner party pudding and a must have on most pub dessert menus! Lovely!!

Shout out to the staff and their attention to detail when it comes to allergy and intolerances, specifically asking whether I had an allergy or an intolerance and then confirming again once they had spoken to the chef.

Poor management, poor service and I can’t rate the food from this visit, as we didn’t end up eating! we booked a table in advance (2 months ago) for 7:30pm and still weren’t sat down an hour and 45 minutes of later! There was no where to park, queuing to get in the restaurant when we arrived. We arrived just after 7pm to be told the table isn’t ready yet, no problem we thought initially, but we were told repeatedly, another 5-10minutes. However there was two groups of 4 seated, then a group of 10 and then another group of 12 sat down before us, although we had an earlier booking. The manager wasn’t interested when we raised our concerns initially, and despite others being offered apology drinks, we didn’t have the same offer despite us waiting longer, until we were walking out the door an hour and a half later. Also, wasn’t great that customers whom had already sat down had crowds of people standing around and over them! Definitely wouldn’t visit again, a waste of time! clearly over booked and/or walk ins in.
