Shout out to the staff and their attention to detail when it comes to allergy and intolerances, specifically asking whether I had an allergy or an intolerance and then confirming again once they had spoken to the chef.

Chinese waitress in a French cafe!!! Poor spoken English so didn't understand how I wanted my eggs. Badly run management. They had a sign to say they were only serving drinks, then they changed their mind and said they were serving food!!! The latte was only half full, the rest was froth. Purchased 3 meals, 1 side, and 2 drinks. Then went to the juice bar to get a takeaway drink, and I bought it back, not even drinking it, and the miserable Manager came over moaning, saying you can't bring a drink onto the premises. How peti. Miserable staff and miserable atmosphere. Won't be going back.

Small portions, not worth it for the price at all, had to order food from somewhere else because we we'rent full at all. Took a while for the bill to come when they weren't that busy, the food didn't tatse that great, took forever to arrive, i will not be back

Only a third full but still had to wait to be seated. Shown to a torn, taped, dirty booth and was told it was one of the better ones. Then had to ask for food order to be taken as we were forgotten about. Food very nice and service by one man was polite once we made contact. Atmosphere was unwelcoming and we won't come here again.

Empty tables but had to queue to get in as not enough staff to service the tables. Sign saying sorry 45 min wait for food. We got seated and ordered drinks then the food. The food came out almost immediately, in fact, before they brought the drinks. It was worth the queueing! All three of us had different delicious meals followed by chocolate fondant which was gorgeous. Thank you Cafe Rouge for a lovely birthday lunch!

The food was great. The short man with grey hair and beard that served us had bad attitude and was a tad rude, the lady who came by periodically was pleasant. Çup of latte served had pink lipstick on the edge, a lady happily changed it. Overall a nice location. Nice french toast. Pity about the guy who served us, he lets the other staff down.

Had a lovely morning in Cribbs started off with a lovely breakfast which was gorgeous. This paired with our fantastic waitress Priscilla who was extremely friendly and attentive to us will have us coming back again 😊

Bizarrely I was asked if I had made a reservation! Since there were only 7 people eating and so 90% of the tables were free- this came across as really pretentious. The table service was brilliant though.

Zoe was amazing, so polite, bubbly and approachable, it really does make a difference when you’re coming in and maybe not feeling yourself and someone takes the time to make you feel good.

Went for a meal with my Mum and husband. Leek and potato soup was like dishwater. Mum and I had sirloin which tasted nice but was tough as tapping leather. Best thing about the experience was the lovely waiter and the wine. Never again

It was quite busy there (1 it was a Saturday and 2 it was lunchtime) but the team were amazing. A special thanks and gratitude goes to Zoe who was the manager on duty and our waitress. She was brilliant. My daughter is autistic and quite fussy and she catered for her brilliantly. My daughter eats with her eyes. She ate the toastie but left the cakes so they were bought home in some boxes supplied by Zoe.

Our table was booked for 1pm but we were delayed in traffic so arrived late. That was not a problem. Our drinks order was taken and we ordered our main courses. The the fire alarm in The Mall went off and everyone was evacuated. We returned to our table around 20 minutes later and our food arrived quite quickly afterwards. It was all excellent.

Don't bother. Booked a table here for 1pm on Sunday 4th of Feb. We arrived and waited to be seated (and waited, and waited) before someone eventually rocked up to seat us with a less than enthusiastic 'sorry for the wait'. Even if they said 'we won't be a minute' just to acknowledge us, that would be have been something. They were clearly overrun. The atmosphere there was not appealing at all, with tables strewn everywhere and practically zero distance between them. No offence to the couple next to us, but we didn't want to sit on their lap whilst eating dinner. We decided to leave and go upstairs to Pizza Hut, where incidentally there was a 20 minute wait. However, the manager there was pleasant and we were happy to wait. It was also nice not to sit face to face with anyone next to us. If you're in Cribbs looking for somewhere to eat with good service, avoid this place. It's a shame as the reason we wanted to come back was due to the nice time we had at the Cafe Rouge in Stratford. We won't be returning here.

Had a lovely family lunch today. Great find a place with good Children’s Menu. Relaxed atmosphere but would like to mention Emily who went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. A real asset to your staff and to hospitality. Thank you Emily

Stopped for lunch after a round of Xmas shopping. Note at the entrance apologising for any delays due to staff shortages. Service was fantastic, our waitress was lovey and very attentive. The food was fantastic, although a little larger portion than expected. Despite the warning, everything was perfect, with very timely service

Went here with my husband and 2 boys. We had tesco vouchers to use so thought to go here as not been for ages. The menu was very small and not had a lot of choice. When the food did come out, the portions were quite small. I had the hand chicken, fries and a watery, flavourless sauce. All for £15.95.,my husband has the beef bourgion. Although he said it was quite tasty there wasn't a lot of it, I know the restaurant is posh but he paid £18.35. We ended up going to another cheap take away place nearby to get a cheap meal as we were still hungry

Lovely serving staff. Were great with our daughter.

Ordered salad, had live slugs in it. Meaning they don't wash the food. Also had a chicken baguette, chicken was okay but the chips were very salty. Overall without the slugs, the food is still at the level it is okay. But with the price you expect the quality with it. The quality isn't there, just slugs.

Had my first Cafe Rouge breakfast here today. Food was great and had a perfect Mocha to go with it. My server Zoe was also fantastic. She was really friendly, quick service and very welcoming. Which is blooming impressive for first thing in the morning. Well certainly be back.

A fabulous experience!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Zoe was my host and made me feel right at home, as she did with all the guest. I had a sirloin stake and the chef cooked it to perfection. It was absolutely delicious. Strongly recommend this place if you are in the Bristol area.

I’ve always wanted to dine at cafe rouge and I’m so glad I did as I’ve never tried French cuisine but I was delighted by the food . I chose the Demi poulet , with a portion of French fries . As a chicken lover this meat was very succulent , tender and very tasty also enough to fill me up , accompanied by a refreshing soft drink and served by a waitress called roxy . She was extremely professional , quick serving me my beverage and checked that I was enjoying my meal which is very important to me if I eat in a restaurant. All the staff that spoke to me were polite , courteous and friendly . The French manager also thanked me for dining as I was leaving . I was very impressed by the service and the etiquette of the staff . I will definitely eat there again as it was a relaxed environment and a nice experience for me whilst I was out shopping . The rating was five stars but I would give a 10/10 if this was an option .

Had lunch on a Sunday at thus place. The steak was so tough and stringy eve the knife vouldnt get through it. The chicken was dry and appeared like an old kept warm piece if poultry. Highly overpriced for such bad inedible food.

The food was absolutely amazing and Ella was so friendly, welcoming and natural without being too in your face.

I recently had lunch at this cafe, it wasn't too busy so the service was really good and quick. The food was of a good standard and prepared in good time. I was a little disappointed with the interior. A number of the seats were ripped and damaged and had been repaired with yellow and black tape, it my be temporary but the tape appeared to have been there for some time. Some Areas of the floor were also damaged and had been repaired with the same tape and needed a good clean. This just gave the premises a really shabby and worn out look and made it look uninviting.

Quiet at tea time on the start of a bank holiday..you would of thought a bit livelier but it is in a shopping mall so probably busier lunchtime. Food was reasonable but not good enough to want to return anytime soon, not saying I wouldn't go again but needs a bit more va-va-voom. Having said that although the waiter didn't have many to see too, must say he was very polite and knowledgeably.

Great service from our 2 waitresses, Roxy and one other (sorry, didn't get name). I had a problem with my food and this was resolved quickly and professionally, with both girls being friendly and understanding. Well done.

Had a breakfast with my daughter yesterday which was delicious. I don't like tomato so I had mushrooms instead. My daughter very fussy with her food so she had extra sausage and hash browns. We had Emily as are waitress she was so helpful and polite. Will come back again very happy with the service we received.

We had the set lunch. Soup of the Day, carrot and lentil, was totally tasteless. Demi Poulet was very dry with that giveaway cotton wool texture when chicken has been over cooked. Calamari was great but a small portion for the price. Waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Underwhelming piece of French toast

Three of us had pre-ordered the traditional afternoon tea. One of us had arrived early but had to wait quite a while for someone to greet her and show her to the table. Once we were seated, it took a while for the waiting staff to come and find out what we wanted to drink. To be fair, once we had placed our orders, the drinks came quickly. We had to wait nearly half an hour for our pre-ordered afternoon teas, even though the restaurant was far from busy. We were trying to catch the attention of the waiting staff but we joked that it felt like they had been trained not to catch our eye! Eventually, one came and said the teas would be out shortly, which they were. The croque monsieur and croque champignon were absolutely delicious and made a great change from traditional sandwiches. The scones were lovely and came with clotted cream and strawberry jam. The cakes, though, were a real disappointment: there was one lemon sponge cake with pieces of something in it but then two identical chocolate sponges. There was a real lack of variety as all were sponge cakes and two were exactly the same. I don't know whether they had run out of what should have been the third cake but no explanation was given. We would have expected perhaps a pastry or a gateau - something to give a bit of variety. The afternoon tea should come with bottomless hot drinks. Again, though, no-one came to wait on us and see if we needed refills and it took ten minutes of solidly trying to catch the eye of a member of waiting staff - any waiting staff! - to ask for our refills. Again, once we had requested them, they did come quickly. When the waiting staff were actually waiting on us, they were friendly and pleasant but were just not attentive enough to their customers, despite the restaurant not being busy. Would we come again and would we have this again? I'm unsure: we've had difficulties with waiting staff not being alert enough to the needs of their customers on a previous visit. The savoury aspects of the meal were really good but the sweet aspect was such a disappointment. I think I would only have it again if there were limited other options, staff were attentive to people waiting and I checked first what the cake options were.

We visited yesterday for lunch. The noise from the other venues in the food court is annoying but if you sit near to the kitchen door it is better. We wanted use our tesco vouchers after a disastrous experience with Cafe Rouge in Bath a fortnight ago. We selected from the menu but found that the Prix Fixe and menus if the day were not available using the vouchers, only a la carte was available so we ordered the same items from that menu paying more than twice the price ( making the TESCO vouchers worthless). We ordered wine at about £9.00 per glass for Rose and almost £11 per glass for red. I ordered Shiraz but what arrived was certainly not Shiraz, more like Rioja or Cotes du Rhone, I asked to see the bottle but the waiter said he would open a new one instead, better ! We had half chicken and sirloin steak, not rare as ordered but medium although very tasty. We have visited Cafe Rouge in London, Cheltenham, Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham but will not visit again, most of the french items in the menu have gone and the only authentic french thing on this visit was the rude waiter. I don't expect a reply, you don't seem to bother !

olives were good, not pitted. mussels were good, the sauce they were in was stupendous. chips were great. cheese cake was ok. red wine was amazing, La Campagne Merlot, many thanks to Zoe for the recommendation. Zoe was brilliant, despite being the only person working front. Very friendly and attentive to everyone seated, and arriving, and departing.

Went for a quick lunch stop whilst shopping, the restaurant was very busy and clearly short staffed but wanted to give a shout out to Zoe who served us. She was run off her feet and was still so kind and efficient. Food was delicious also. Thanks Zoe 😁

We came out for dinner on Tuesday evening. The area was nice and cozy, not a lot of people but this is expected in a week day. Our waitress was Zoe, she was amazing, from getting us seated to taking our orders, she was really bubbly and appeared to be the only one who was taking care of other customers. Her customer service was superb, my husband and I were really impressed. Now talking about the food, we had garlic bread, chicken and pork liver pâté and calamari for our starters, then beef bougy(it’s a lot longer to spell and pronounce but it was beef cooked in wine with some bits of bacon and other things (was fab) then steak with chips and veggies It was a really nice evening, atmosphere was nice, food was great money well spent!

The lite bites menu was very good and well worth the cost. Our server, Roxy was very friendly and welcoming.

Great place, beautiful food and top service. I had the grand breakfast which was delicious. It was £10.95 which is about average for a cooked breakfast. The only thing missing were some mushrooms, but other than that perfect 👌👌👌👌.

Roast chicken was delicious, cooked well with nice crispy skin. Service was bit slow but was in no rush. Friendly staff (Roxy served us). Inside the atmosphere was bit flat, maybe some background music would help. Overall happy with the food.

Very very busy and just one waitress but she was so good . Quick efficient had time for everybody and a ready smile . Full of admiration for her , and by the way my omelette and salad was perfect 👍

Had lovely mussels here at the weekend. Good service, nice atmosphere.

Starters were good, calamari was crispy and not chewy, though it was a lot more breadcrumbs than squid in ratio. Pate was tasty, too. Mains were a little disappointing, Poulet Breton, chicken in sauce, chicken was a bit dry, sauce lacked any depth of flavour. The steak sandwich was ok. I asked for pink, but it was overcooked and was a bit chewy.

The service was professional, friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent with familiar and reassuring flavours accompanied by a great wine (French Malbec)!

We had a voucher as a present for my 59th birthday from our daughter inlaw and what a present it was! Fabulous the cheese lovers experience was what it said on the tin, it was lovely my wife and I had a relaxing time the staff was fabulous especially zoe she made are treat special she is a gem at Cafe rouge thank you zoe. Called in on our way to the airport with our grandchildren.They burger which was burnt & tough. My husband’s burger was like cardboard.I only had a starter of whitebait which was fine.The service was very slow which was unfortunate they had a plane to catch.

My partner and me went out last night for dinner had the Taste of Rouge menu from Groupon.The quality of the food was brilliant,I had poulet breton and my partner duck confit followed by creme bulee and beignets (mini doughnuts).It was very delicious.The service was very good too,the atmosphere friendly and cosy. Daina was our server,lovely young lady.Had a good chat with the short haired young lady during our visit and found out more about the brand and what I did not know that Las Iguanas and Bella Italia belongs to the same company. We’ll try them soon as well.We really enjoyed it!Thank you!

Visited for a quick meal after a long day travelling. Food and service was okay nothing special. Chips were nice and hot.

I must say we had such a good time last Saturday even so was so busy.They had a hen party and also full of restaurant with guests but the whole team worked so hard and organized!Our server was Louise who was very lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her and the manageress Anie,I think this is her name ( I heard Louise called her)was very switched on and dealt with the pressure incredible well.The food was very good too and we did not mind to wait a bit longer as the whole atmosphere was very positive!!Hidden gem in the Mall!!Thanks guys for the great experience!We’re back soon!!!

My wife and I usually stop at Cribbs Causway on our journey home from London to Plymouth as it's about half way. It's a good place for a comfort break, stretch our legs and do a little shopping.

Now that I suffer so much with osteoarthritis I cannot walk as far as I used to be able to. So when we go to Cribbs causeway to shop I let Carol mooch around on her own while I enjoy a couple of cold ciders at the Cafe Rouge and people watch. The Cafe Rouge is a pleasant well run watering hole and I can highly recommend it.

Was told it would be at least a half hour wait which was fine , it was very busy for a Sunday.

We had breakfast. It took a long time for a drinks order (never mind food) to be taken. Once taken, we ordered food.

I had a voucher for a burger or croque and fries for £5. I had the camembert and pancetta croque, it was perfectly ok for £5, but not worth the full price which would have been in excess of £11. There was not much pancetta in the croque and the fries did not seem any different to those that you get in a cheap burger restaurant.

Any association with France is absurd - this place wouldn't last three weeks there. There seem to be a large number of things 'off' the menu and the best you can say of the food is that it's mediocre and the 'frites' stale - though the waitress argues about it. The ambience is like that of a busy railway platform and all in all it is not a place I wish to return to and would advise others to look elsewhere.

We popped in for lunch on a Friday. We were seated quickly and ordered an omelette and Caesar salad. To be honest it was nothing special. Actually both meals were bland. Nothing there says France, the staff were pleasant enough but we won’t be returning any time soon. And it’s overpriced for what you get.

I’ve been here for a late lunch with friends. We got seated quickly, ordered the food which was really nice. Also, our server had good knowledge about the food and drinks. We will be definitely back soon.

We were out for the day doing a bit of shopping and a family catch up. When lunch time arrived we decided on cafe rouge as the menu suited us all. Well we're greeted Nicely at the door and sat quickly. Our surfer was a very pleasant young lady who is also studying a masters in her spare time. Louise was very noligible about the menu and served us quickly and efficiently despite have many over tables to attend to. The food came in good time and was all delisious. Especially my chicken dish was amazing. We will be back soon

My wife and I went there for lunch and were not disappointed. We both had the battered Skate with French fries. Excellent. Then I had the apple tart with ice cream.

Reading published reviews we looked forward to a special lunch at Cafe Rouge. As the cafe is French in style we chose a French main course of Moules Frites. (Marinieres)

I was expecting the breakfast to be your average bacon and eggs but it was really tasty. Scrambled egg was just how I like it and it was all really tasty and good quality. Staff were really friendly too. Would return.

This used to be a regular spot that we enjoyed having meals and drinks at, unfortunately it has declined in both food and service.

We visited here at 7.15 on a Saturday night to be told the chef had to go home as his child was ill. We said ok well eat somewhere else but the greeter said we do have a second chef and she is very good, we decided to risk it and it was well up to standard so well done to all the team

Four of us were feeling rather peckish during our shopping trip so we decided to stop here. We all had a variation of a light lunch it was served fast very tasty and attentive and patient staff. Apologies I didn't take a picture.

Not a particularly busy evening but quite a wait. Staff ok. Food tepid. Certainly wouldn't be worth the £30 it should have been.

Had a 3 course meal as part of TravelZoo voucher offer I had. It was a lovely meal. I booked the table in advance so the wait wasn't long, (I'd advise doing this beforehand). The service was good and quick. The place was bustling and quite noisy but good atmosphere. (I went on a Sunday at 2pm). I had the Moroccan Bean Soup, followed by Boeuf Bourguignon and then Lemon Tart to finish. The amount was just right and all very tasty and filling. The only criticism I have is that the Lemon Tart was too sharp for my palette. I had a taste of my partner's Crème Brule and that was much better. The cakes looked lovely and I would go there again for tea and cakes next time. The price is slightly on the high end however, you get good food, good portions and good service, so worth it I think.

Enjoyed an excellent breakfast with good friendly service. For only £5.95 the full English was very well prepared all piping hot and good quality ingredients. My wife's Eggs Benedict with salmon was also the best that she has had in a long while. If I had to choose a fault it was only that the toast was toasted but not obviously so! But then I like mine burnt!! Good coffee too a very pleasant meal and good value too. Will certainly visit again the next time we are in Devils Causeway!

Lovely place in a busy mall. Feels like a slice of France slipped into a cake of mediocrity! Fast, unobtrusive, polite service coupled with a fine meal made it an enjoyable experience. I ate a fish starter, steak frites and a sweet followed by coffee- très bien!

This is the second time my husband and I have visited this venue for food, I wish I had remembered how disappointed we were the last time! Today we decided to have brunch therefore we visited at about 11 am, after having been seated and given breakfast menus and asked what we would like to drink we waited only a few minutes before our drinks were brought out ...... 2 cappuccinos, we duly placed our orders for food when the drinks arrived and waited.... about 20 minutes in which time we had drunk our lukewarm coffees. The food arrived but we were disappointed, cold lightly toasted bread, rock solid butter, 4 rashers of cold streaky bacon and two cold poached eggs on a very cold plate! My husband had ordered the breakfast..... toast exactly the same as mine, also bacon and egg alike, a dish of lukewarm beans, a cold fried mushroom, half a tomato and a sausage which was the warmest thing on the plate, all served on you guessed it a stone cold plate! Not a good brunch at all.
