Paticake.Patisserie in Sunderland

I highly recommend this place. I went today with my friend who is a bit of a cake addict, and she said it was the best Cherry Bakewell Tart she has ever had. The selection of cakes available was amazing, and she took a good selection home with her. I had the Peanut Butter slice, it was delicious. Cake was light and fluffy with just the right amount of peanut butter cream. We both had a pot of tea with out cakes which went perfectly. The best thing about this lovely little cake shop, is the friendly, helpful and polite staff.

We had afternoon tea here yesterday and it was amazing. The cakes tasted so yummy . The scones , nachos, sandwiches and sausage rolls tasted so nice. My favourite was the lemon anx blueberry scone with cream and jam on. Well worth the money and we will be going again. The owners wand staff were so friendly too. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Decided to try today and we went for a variety of their cake slices. Unfortunately I couldn't say any were worth the visit. Soggy sponge, soggy pastry case to the tart before we even started. As we had a selection it gave us a true example but they were all quite terrible. It wasn't the case of just not being up to much, they were all bad enough for all our family to not want to eat any of them. They lack any real taste. Have very poor consistency and are just simply not pleasant. On top of this add a 15 minute wait to simply box up our cakes after ordering. Definitely not somewhere I would return to

Excellent friendly service, providing excellent quality foods whether it’s bacon sandwiches, soups or from the patisserie. Well worth a visit to either eat in or take out.

Best place ever,delicious cakes,nice and friendly staff. Everyone can find something good. Worth to visit that place and try many others delicacies and also they have sandwiches, soup ,polish pierogi yumi yumi

The cakes are absolutely incredible! We got a mix to try but the biscoff cookie dough and the after eight slice were unreal. So, so good! The strawberry iced tea was also really nice but most importantly, really lovely staff and it's dog friendly! You can park for free in the surrounding streets but it is a permitted area so there are some times where you can't park (I think 2-4pm is out of bounds) but we had no issues getting parked at 12.30pm.

Amazing selection of quality homemade cakes and delicious ice creams. We don’t live local but had seen some of the cakes on social media so decided to have look. We ended up buy 5 cakes as couldn’t decide so we had a try of fresh cream cakes, chocolate with ganache and also cookie dough cake… All absolutely top quality, we’ll defiantly be back and I’d even order birthday cakes from there. Great for a treat with the kids doing lovely sundaes. The staff were knowledgable and really attentive great customer service, the young lady called Ruby serving made me an amazing tall ice cream.

Visited Paticake on a recent visit to Sunderland and was absolutely knocked out at what brilliant cakes it has. Outside it’s an unassuming small building on the side of the road but once inside, you enter an incredible range of cakes and pastries. Imagine your favourite dream cake and it’s probably there. Huge selection, including gluten free, plus good range of hot and cold drinks including smoothies. Savoury snacks are also available and look delicious. Decor is simple and warm. The customer service is simply outstanding. It’s such a warm and friendly place to visit. The husband and wife team who run it are so kind and welcoming. All the cakes are homemade by the wife and she is so modest about the incredible cakes that she creates. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, it’s also dog friendly. When in Sunderland, you could go to a mediocre chain coffee shop for an overpriced bland stale coffee or cake - or you could go for the best cake and customer service from a local family business - I know where I’m going

My friend had suggested this place as she said the cakes were fabulous. We went there for a catch up over a treat. I was overwhelmed with the amount of cakes available (they also sell savoury food). The quaint cake shop is run by a lovely friendly couple. It has a comfortable feel to the place. There are a handful of tables to sit in or you can have the cakes boxed to take away. Both mine and my friends cakes were delicious and I’ll be returning in the near future.

This is the most amazing place to visit if you enjoy cake, and believe me I do! It is run by a Polish couple and the wife of the duo is a Confectionery Chef beyond belief! It is hidden away on Tunstall Road opposite Thornhill Crescent, but is well and truly worth finding! I have been there a couple of times and I am absolutely addicted to the place and it really is to die for! The owners are absolutely wonderful and will do everything they can to accommodate your needs! Amazing place!

Visited Paticake Patisserie LTD for afternoon tea with my mam and sister, we pre-ordered numerous days prior as requested. Staff even rang the day before to make sure we were still arriving. We had a table reserved in the lovely little cafe at the window which had a lovely atmosphere. Found staff very polite and helpful. The food arrived beautifully presented from sausage rolls, sandwiches, warm tortilla crisps, fruit, cake and scones. We were able to change the tea to coffee which was great. However, the only disappointment was no clotted cream or jam available to have with our scones. I see clotted cream and jam as a stable ingredient in afternoon tea and as the meal had been pre-ordered in advance I would have thought staff would have purchased these items knowing there was a afternoon tea booked in, it was a bit of a let down.

This is a fantastic little café where the food and service are both outstanding. Everything is home made and delicious. Home made soup and homemade bread divine. Cakes are out of this world - great for takeaway just for a special treat. Support these local businesses - so important. We will be regular customers! Thank you

I read the numerous 5 star reviews, descriptions of amazing cakes, and copious amounts of the word 'delicious' so I was expecting for my mind to be blown. We got a selection of 7 desserts, with universally negative responses. I will admit that the cakes, with the exception of a depressing-looking cheesecake, all looked appealing. However, each of them was unusual and off-putting in its own way. The baked cheesecake was mealy and dry, with an odd taste - nobody wanted more than a small sample. The three cakes were all soaked in presumably simple syrup, which left them soggy - the wax paper they were sat on was visibly wet! They were probably the best tasting of the lot, though. Ginger cake that tasted on cinnamon and not much else, apple crumble was also cinnamon heavy. The toffee on the sticky toffee pudding was nice... It's a shame we won't be going back.

I collected a birthday cake on 23/7 (picture attached. Wonderful, and a work of art. Quality of ingredients magnificent.

Visited today, lovely customer service. We had cheese scones each and a cake each (cherry bakewell tower cake and peach crumble cheesecake), all of which were very good! There was so much to choose from; we will definitely be back to try some of the others.

I usually buy slices of cake or cup cakes. Always taste n quality best in the town. Today first time I ordered chocolate birthday cake. It’s such delicious and nicely decorated cake. 10/10

Visited for the first time with my Husband, had a delicious cheese scone, apple cake and strawberry tart, beautiful and very fresh. Ariel and staff are very welcoming. Will certainly be returning.

The best cakes in Sunderland by far! I have visited three times now and I'm loving this place. Perfect cakes, coffee and great staff, I would highly recommend.

Serving amazing homemade cakes, we had coffee and walnut and lemon and cranberry. The friendly owner explained his wife makes all the cakes and whilst it was delicious, I was grateful for the doggy box as the portions are huge. Small with a cosy atmosphere....

What an absoulte gem of a place this is quality cakes coffee and sandwiches in abudance. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and the location is perfect just on the edge of the city centre. I would highly recommend the place.

Visited here for the first time yesterday. Had noticed it whilst driving through Sunderland. It’s in a premises which sold Fireplaces for many years at the bottom of Thornhill Crescent in Sunderland. Good free parking very close by ( except from 9am- 10am and 2pm-...
