One of my favorite party spots, I hope they come back soon <3 one of the few authentic places left in this city where you don't have drones of finance bros awkwardly hovering around the dance floor videotaping everything. Bouncer didn't like the fact that we didn't tip enough $$$. We told him the server messed up our order but they weren't trying to hear it. It's been 5 years and I'm Definitely not going back

Remember when this place had a giant bar in the middle? Huge improvement since then. The lighting has improved tremendously and it's much more akin to a sleek lounge. Definitely a fun place with a young crowd. They kept the dance floor in the back with the holy buddha. Plays a good mix of hip hop and club music. Drinks are fairly priced. Small cover + free coat check

Visited on a cold wet and windy day with my friend from Newcastle, we sat in the window with great views of the sea.The special priced 2 course lunch menu had a great choice of dishes. We had crispy duck with pancakes for 2 then beef with asparagus and Chinese roast duck. Everything tasted delicious. Service was good with friendly and helpful staff.Will be returning to try the other dishes on the menu.

Terrible Pub Crawl experience. Long story short we paid for bands to participate for entries and discounts. My group enjoyed Buddha so much and went to return only to be a charged a cover before the entry band expiration time limit.

Hadn’t been here for a long time following disappointing meal last time. Since then the place has been taken over and is now House of Zen. Staff were lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I started with spring rolls then had a delicious nasi goreng which came with chicken skewers and a coconut satay sauce. Will definitely go again.

We visited this restaurant on a lunchtime taking our Mam out for dinner. 1 chicken starter was not nice at all as the chicken was the frozen square chicken with no taste. Then 2 meals came. One was chicken teriyaki and one a steak dish - asparagus wrapped in beef. Both cake with a sauce and both had no taste. When we informed the waitress she just looked at us and said she would tell the chef. Nothing came of it and there was no apology or discounted meal. 2 main meals hadn’t been touched yet we still had to pay full price. Service is not acceptable.

Now called 'House of Zen'. Visited for an Anniversary Meal with my wife. Staff were attentive - some might say over attentive as they repeatedly asked whether we would like our main course immediately after our starters or not - but they were pleasant enough. Food was excellent although portions are not too generous, but the food seemed quality nonetheless. Drinks were good too with an extensive choice available. We didn't opt for the set menu as we didn't want desserts but on reflection, we probably should have after receiving our bill. It was rather expensive however, at £70 for two people dining over 2 courses. Even without counting the drinks on the bill it was still £60. Surroundings were very comfortable and clean. Yes, I would visit again but I would definitely be more savvy with offers etc. Great location to dine for a special occasion but not really a place to pop in for a meal off the cuff unless you're feeling flush!

Now known as House of Zen, was really good quality Asian food, with good variety of dishes on the menu. A little pricey for the UK.

The setting is great with it being right on seafront and excellent views of the beach if you are sat at the windows. Decent selection of various dishes and the food is fine but expensive for what it is.

This place has changed its name to the House of Zen. We recently ate here for an evening meal. It is very expensive for what you get, and that is very ordinary. We only drank lemonade with lime, but the glasses were two thirds full with ice, so when we ordered more, we insisted on no ice! Needless to say, our meal cost almost fifty pounds, which was way over the top. We eat out often, so we know what we are talking about. The setting for this restaurant is good, as it faces the beach at Seaburn, and the waiting staff were very friendly and polite.

We regularly eat at this seafront restaurant and find the food superb but pricey. I am willing to pay for good food and this place serves good asian food. If you visit Seaburn why not give this restaurant a try? I do not think you will be disappointed.

Tai green was nearly £14 on its own then you had to add rice at £3;50. Food was not fresh, Chicken in curry was rubbery, would not recommend.

Good music, good events, and good bartenders

Visited here several times while staying at the grand hotel. Cocktails are excellent and the food just as good. Staff where friendly and helpful. We stayed to watch rugby and have lunch.

This review is based on a midweek lunch special, so I’m hoping the main menu or evening may be better.

Sat at a very dirty table which had lots of used dishes on it Asked if it could be cleared waited but no one bothered. We cleared it ourselves The tapas arrived they were disgusting no dipping sauces truly the worst tapas ever .

Me and My wife popped in for some food and a couple of drinks. The cocktails and my Catsu chicken curry were fine but the issues started with my wife's meal. She went for the vegetable curry samosa and chips - this turns out is just 4 samosa dumped on some chips. More presentation went into the salt and chili chips side dish and I think I could have done better in the oven at home. The portion size was also very small - it looked like a child's portion.

We booked a meal when visiting the Airshow. We’ve not visited before but know it has great views of the beach. Service was friendly and fast , we weren’t allowed to sit next to the window with children as it was ‘couples only’.

Didnt realise this restaurant had changed to House of Zen . But to be fair much of a muchness. I ordered my favourite ,chicken and cashew nuts , but was disappointed by the lack of both in the meal and it wasnt cheap. Over priced meals and quality lacking . Duck pancakes nice but I've had better .

Went with family and had been looking forward to going to this restaurant for a while. Bit concerned about the mixed reviews but still thought it was worth a try. Disappointed by average food which was like a cheap takeaway meal. Pretty horrified by the prices. If our meals had been half the price we would have felt it was reasonable value. But at 100% more than we felt it was worth we won't be returning.

Lovely food, staff are very attentive and reasonably priced food and very quick service, highly recommended

I called I’m after a long walk thinking a refreshing drink on a hot summers evening and a few snacks would be welcomed. The bar manager didn’t have the courtesy to even greet me as I approached the bar. The gent that did serve me served WARM wine at £8 a glass and when I returned to the bar to mention the fact It was “warm” they offered ice and commented “ Eeee it gets like that when the gas runs out on the fridge????” There are plenty other decent welcoming friendly establishments in the vicinity that would welcome your trade in other words Give it a miss

I had been waiting a while to go here but had contrasting stories. When i eventually got there i was disappointed. The menu wasn't as good as i had hoped and as a result didn't really enjoy my evening.

I cannot believe the prices that are charged for small portions of average food. This was our first visit for a while and was surprised at how quite it was for aa Saturday evening, I now know why. Will not be going back again

Where do I start. Ordered drinks, asked for a straw, didn’t receive straw until I was finished it and ordered a second one. I had honey chilli chicken main as always and was lovely. My partner got Malaysian chicken curry after having it before and it being nice. The chicken was horrible, it didn’t taste fresh and it was a soggy jelly like texture. No one came to check on us to ask if our food was okay so we had to complain when the plates were collected as there are no waiters walking around. He was offered some more food but this should have been sorted before the plates were cleared and finished with. We were not given any discount or an apology.

Worst Tom yum soup and green curry we’ve ever tasted. Weird colouring and chemical tasting. This place is charging a fortune to heat a cheap jar of food rather than actual cooking. Never again.

It's not often my hubby and I get to dine out without our children. We have ate here before and it's always been good. Nothing special but still good food.

Ordered ribs and chips, ribs came without chips. I waited a few minutes chips didn’t arrive. I asked where they were and the bar lady stated I would need to pay for them. Menu said they were apart of the meal. I said could you just bring some chips and started to eat the ‘wrong ribs’ which I was charged £2 more for when checking my receipt. After a few mouth fulls. The rude bar staff came over took my ribs away and said I would need to wait for a new meal with chips. So they expected my friend to eat their meal and me sit and wait for mine. When I asked for a refund she said ‘I’ve already asked them to make a new one’ I explained I would just eat the one on the table and just add a few chips. Apparently that’s against their policy! I pointed at the meal on the menu too! Ended up with no food! I asked for a refund and she said she didn’t know how to do one! Why have staff who can’t take and order, then take food off you when it’s their mistake, then not provide you with food. No apology either!! Shocking service. I wouldn’t recommend this bar to anyone!

I’m writing this review as I really think the management need to organise their staff better on the Bar.

Visited this place on a number of occasions, I do find that the food is good but sometimes can be inconsistent. The honey chilli chicken is always a safe bet. My partner tried the pad Thai but wasn’t impressed with it at all, no comparison to the real deal in Thailand. The happy hour deal is good value for money although I do think the prices have recently increased.

Favourite bar in NYC and one of my favourites in the world. Great vibes, food, music and people. Always a good time here, can't not make a Fat Buddha pitt stop whenever I'm in NYC. 🙏🏻🎉

I am posting this again as for some reason, my review was removed!!! I used to come here years ago so I took my partner here after long time. I noticed the management changed, inside it looked little bit nicer, we were sat next to the window by the sea view. All the staff was very nice and polite, starters were okay ish, very tiny, literally around 3 pieces of prawns, not how I remember, but tasted alright. Then the trouble started, when we were waiting for the next course. I asked one of the staff, where is the food and the girl went to check in the kitchen. She came and apologized, she said the kitchen didn't get the ticket. So she sent it trough again and she went to double check in the kitchen. She kept checking on the kitchen for us and poor thing looked nervous. Obviously looked like the fault is on the side of the kitchen, as our food didn't arrive for another 10 minutes. It wasn't too busy really and I think kitchen should definitely prioritize us as they knew there's a table missing an order and waiting to be served for longer then 30 mins. The food finally came and the lady was apologizing again on behalf of the kitchen. We started eating the mains but my partner wasn't very happy as the meat was cold and the portion sizes were very tiny for the price. When we told the staff, the lady asked, if we want a meal replacement. We said we don't want to wait for another meal anymore and we would like to speak to the manager. When the manager came, he wasn't very friendly, he looked grumpy and annoyed and when we explained the situation, he was really rude. We ended up paying with a discount, which was fine, the staff was really friendly, but the kitchen was unorganized mess and the manager was terrible. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back until the management changes, as from what I remember, the management before was very friendly and professional. This manager couldn't even speak fluently and we had to repeat him like 2 times. It is really sad when the staff is way better behaved then the manager itself.

An Easter bonanza for the owners ! A whopping 36% increase in the prices over the Easter holidays - greedy.

I write this having never written a review on a restaurant before. I have been on this planet for 55 years and this is without doubt the worst meal my family and I have ever had in a restaurant. The starter spring roll (should be called straw roll) because that is what i believe straw would taste like. Three tiny rock hard rolls. My daughter had the same she said it was disgusting (aged 23). The main course I had beef curry no taste rubbery beef and it was vile. I also along with my wife ordered egg fried rice in a lump could not find any egg. To top it all I tried the salt and chilli chips. They were rock hard and inedible. My daughter had singapore vermicelli noodles, the flavour was solely curry powder as you would get from a chip shop, there was nothing 'authentic' about them. With one round of drinks came to over £87 but i did not check my bill and left the waiter £5 as they were nice and attentive. As I left my daughter informed me after I had paid that there was already a £7.60 tip included in the bill. What a cheek. I will never go to this restaurant again and I urge people to look at what you get, what you pay as i am gobsmacked at what i paid for what i got. I also rang the restaurant when i got home and they apologised but nothing more.

Chill bar with a more mature crowd than you find elsewhere in the area. I like that there is light Asian food as well.

We went for a friends birthday six of us all together,I had the signature dish which was fillet beef with a ginger sauce. I received 3 small slices of beef cooked over onions tasty but not worth the £18.50,the sauce was a thick gravy and not nice at all,but what was really annoying was having to pay £3 extra for a small bowl of rice. The rest of the group had curry which came with a thick skin on top obviously from being kept warm in an oven. Have to say the staff we’re lovely. This restaurant is well over priced and not worth the money very poor avoid.

Ordered take out early evening. Order completed very quickly a little too quick I felt. On taking home and eating it was not a good meal. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice. The rice were very dry and very dark in colour, had been over cooked or reheated. The chicken was very dry, difficult to eat and some pieces were that hard they were like rocks and inedible. Seemed as though from speed of service and end product was re-heated and bit very well. Disappointed as have eaten in and had take out before with no problems.

Met two good friends for dinner. Nice building but expected some more authentic music. Service very friendly and staff helpful. Ordered four of the set meal, and the food very appetizing and tasty. Would recommend but take care of the 10% service charge.

I adore this place. Always a great time and every friend I met there seemed to like it as well. Food is on point. Good times.

First time at the Fat Buddah for a birthday celebration.

We went here for a lunch and was not disappointed. The lunch menu is £10.95 for two courses and is exceptional value for money. The quality of the food is excellent and service very efficient. We had the dim sum to start and deep fried king prawns, both were outstanding (with a preference for the dim sum!!). For the main course webbed the Singapore noodles (they have a good, but mild, heat) and the thai red curry which was really tasty.

Came here last Friday! Was super chill and refreshingly had a crowd that wasn't full of drunk college students. Hard to find places for the 25-30 crowd, this place did the trick. Drinks were strong but tasty. I'll be back!

When you're looking for the best wings in New York City and also Asian food in general fat Buddha is world-class people come from all over to eat the cuisine and also have nice stiff drinks the staff is completely at your needs at all times and also this place is traditionally hip hop bar which is hard to find these days especially in New York City please stop by fat Buddha and enjoy your night

Visited here for the wife’s birthday, food was well presented and tasty , surroundings are nice , Restaraunt well maintained, that chap who took the booking over the phone lacked a bit of charisma and the 10% added to the bill automatically as a service charge was a bit of a shock but when questioned I was told it was optional , would visit again

Had a 2 course lunch and it was great!! Fried soft shell crab was very good followed by salt and pepper squid.. my wife had chicken with comquats which was a first! Great view and nice staff plus wine not a rip off !! Will be back..

It was a Monday night and my partners b/d. We decided to eat out, going straight from work arriving around 5.30pm. We have visited the fat Buddha dozens of times over the years as it is a short walk from home. It is always a bit hit and miss. Last night it was awful. I ordered fresh sea bass in a light batter, pan fried with curry leaf, garlic and chilli. There was a generous serving, however, it had not been pan fried as described. It was very dry with some dry garlic and chilli thrown over. I asked if the chips were good. (I have never ordered chips there before) I was assured they were. They were frozen chips! I complained it was too dry and was advised l could order curry sauce or sweet n sour. I ordered the sweet n sour but l left two thirds of my food. Fish was in my opinion frozen, absolutely not fresh and was over cooked. Starter of dim sum, 6 to share, was ok but almost certainly frozen. Shared banana desert which was fine. My partner had Singapore vermilcilli which he enjoyed though l thought it too dry. Three glasses of wine, 175mil, and a water. £60. Service was good apart from absolutely no acknowledgement of my complaint. Even charged for the awful sweet and sour sauce which went virtually untouched. Great place for a drink though.

In the back of the bar there's a Buddha covered in glam, which is incredibly offensive to the religion of buddhism. (Buddha should never be used as a bar decoration) $10 cover for guys, $5 for girls. The bar is a dance floor that's uncomfortably packed with underaged NYU students. I'd recommend avoiding this bar given the multiple choice around.

Lovely sea view,but that’s all,food cooked from frozen,nothing fresh.Chicken is the same frozen compressed rectangular shape.Salt & chilli chicken had salt & dried chilli with dried onions on top no taste at all.Very over priced for the quality of food.Beware

Went here with my brother and his wife for an evening meal. We were seated in a booth type table which wasn’t floor fixed (conveniently), so we could move the seats back and forward to suit.

Cozy spot, good music. I wished they made this general cho dish with white meat. Drinks are strong The incense they use is,,, intoxicating. lol I caught a set from Maseo from De La soul. A mixed genre set. The Female bartenders were helpful. The dude with beard wasn't. That's kool. I'm into ladies helping me anyway.

We came here as a group of friends, including a baby. It was a busy weekend lunchtime, but there was a friendly laid-back atmosphere despite it being busy, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The views over the sea from huge floor-to-ceiling windows are fabulous, it was a breezy blustery day with blue skies so it was lovely to look out on, and the interiors are very stylish. Food was very reasonable - we did a £10.95 for two courses deal and it was such tasty food for that kind of price. There was no long wait for orders to come, or for plates to be cleared. Enjoyable all round.

My birthday treat with family. All courses were so tasty and hot - the restaurant was very busy but the food all arrived piping hot and there were no long waits between courses. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal and will definitely be back.

Pretty cool bar, but has a 10 dollar cover. It's a chill bar, but nothing to warrant being worth the cover charge. Plenty of other equal or better bars around with no cover charge. I'm not against paying a cover charge but the surrounding bars where better and much more lit with no cover charge. This place offers nothing special to charge $10 to enter.

Casual vibes, fun late night music, good food! No cover on a Tuesday night. Pretty empty, but nice place to chill. I ordered the hot stone bibimbap. Yum.

The scenery is beautiful and amazing views overlooking the beach however this is where the 1 star comes in. Food was awful over cooked frozen dim sum, duck over cooked and bland, my friends chicken had no taste and the service seemed none existent like they did not want to be there. Will deffo return for cocktails and that view but will not eat here ever again.

My partner and i visited last week. The atmosphere was lacking and over priced for what we recieved.

I have been going to Fat Buddha consistently over the last year and a half and would recommend to anyone looking for a casual bar hangout with great Korean/asian food. When you walk in the bar is gigantic and occupies the vast majority of the space with some seating scattered all around. On Fridays and the weekend their is usually a DJ playing music. If you want to go to a place and hangout this is a great spot, but if you are on a first date this will probably be a little to loud. Let's talk about the food, I really enjoy going to fat Buddha because the food and the good pricing during happy hour. I usually eat the dolsot bimbimbap and shrimp mandoos. Both are always amazing and they always leave me wanting more. I have tried the Buddha bun and dragon fries which are also very good. I've been wanting to try the wings and calamari but have not gotten around to it yet because I love the other options so much. In terms of drinks, they have decent drink specials and the bar tenders make strong drinks. I tend to get pretty good service whenever I go to fat Buddha with the caveat I tend to go early and aren't here when going out crowd has arrived. Overall, this is just a nice hangout spot with surprisingly good food. #happyhour #localspot #livemusic

Called in for the lunch time special we were shown to a lovely table in the window looking out to sea. The service was very good and the staff were very friendly the food was An improvement from my last visit . The lunch time specials are reasonable value but found the evening meals expensive.worth a visit if you fancy a walk along the sea front.

3 tables and huge bar in the center of the room. They have to have more chairs, coz people are coming a lot of space everywhere but no chairs. Food was delicious loved the soy chicken bites! I didnt check if they have delivery, Id go there one more time just for them)) Drinks are average. DJ was nice! People were packed on that quite small dance floor. Overall good for ppl from 21 till 28 I think )) 4 stars coz dude that works there literally took my chair when I was eating and drinking on bar with my friends, saying to many ppl we have to make more space. And he did this only with one side of bar. Consider this very rude and unprofessional. #localspot

Great value for money, and really do get a lot for your money. Food comes out really quick, however our crispy beef starter was cold and we sent it back. This was quickly dealt with and apologised for. Other than that the food is really nice with seaside views. Overall great service nice food

What can we say partner and I went for a quiet dinner well so disappointing. Service was ok but not great considering you are going to pay £60 plus for two with a couple of drinks. Food though is absolutely awful the manager even stated they cook all the meat unseasoned on its own then add it to the sauces to serve WTF. The entree was out of a packet. Having lived in Australia where Asian food is everywhere I reckon you could buy better in a jar do it at home for £10...... save your money stay at home

Waited 40 minutes for a pizza. Turned up undercooked. Waited a further 25 minutes for the replacement. Complained to the manager who said the chef was Chinese and leaving tomorrow and literally “didn’t care”. Asked for a refund and confirmed this will be my first and only visit.

Four of us met for lunch, as this restaurant only uses the seats near the bar for lunch this is where we sat though it was quite busy. These seats are very uncomfortable all four of us were glad to get off them when we left they are in desperate need of reupholstering.

LIT turnout after 11pm. There is a long bar in the front and a dance floor in the back. The drinks are not cheap but won't knock you over the head in prices. The music is always modern hip-hop with a little throwbacks mixed in. You will be waiting in a line if u come after midnight.
