Pasta Nostra LOS in Southend-on-Sea

Have visited 3 times in the last month or so and I'm a huge fan. Great menu with interesting, well executed pasta dishes. Good wines and excellent service in a coolly designed room. Starters are also excellent - lasagne croquettes are inspired.

Want for lunch. Beautiful food. Fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend.

The best lunch in Essex ! Quality! Attentive & friendly staff . I am definitely coming again to try A la Carte dinner & their 🍸 🍹 with a platter.

A spur of the moment choice on a visit to Leigh. We were lucky to get a space here. Characterful little Italian. Not a big menu, but enough. I had a pasta with cod, really. Lovely, friendly service. Excellent little place.

Showed up for an 8pm dinner, after one hour 20 minutes still no food. When we sat down we were told 4 items from the menu were no longer available. During this excessive delay at no time did the staff come to the table offer some bread, offer an explaination about why our experience was beyond being a disaster. While we wait for our starters, I watched waiting staff eat. Best of all was my other view from chair was the open door to the bathroom and looking at the toilet.

Place was quite small, but overall was amazing.

I went to this wonderful restaurant last Friday lunchtime. I had the ragu and a beautiful rocket salad. it was one of the best meals i have had in leigh for a long time. I am telling everyone about this place and can’t wait to return. Five stars all round!

Had lunch here and I have to say it far exceeded expectations. The prawns were divine and the pasta to die for. The girls that served us were lovely and very helpful. What a wonderful place. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best Italian in Leigh. I understand why people are annoyed, the portions are smaller than other restaurants and it is expensive. However, the quality of the ingredients is amazing and the flavours are incredible. Service was great. We had the best time. Thank you Tutti! Already booked to come back!

Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants in Essex! The staff are SO attentive and super friendly, the food is absolutely out of this world😍 Everything we had was gorgeous and portioned so generously too! Couldn’t recommend enough x

Just returned home after a superb dinner at Tutti Leigh Broadway. Everything was perfect and made our evening, which was our joint celebration of our 70th birthdays, one to remember. We shared starters and had the Hispi cabbage for the first time. My wife had pasta with monkfish and crab, again a first for her and she was delighted, my pasta with short rib ragu was very tasty and we still had room for their wonderful deserts. But what made the evening special was the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff, even the chefs stopped to chat on their way out. Definitely one to go back to.

My husband and I visited Sunday for the ‘free flow session’ and although we hadn’t booked we were welcomed straight away. The restaurant was empty which can always be off putting but the vibe and music was on point and we instantly felt relaxed thanks to Lee and Lana who were great hosts throughout. I’ve visited a few times now and find the food to be consistently good and flavoursome and Sunday was no different. My husband had the ‘tonnarelli’ on Lee’s recommendation which I was worried about as he’s not one to opt for a meat free dish but he loved it. Our wine was topped up regularly and we enjoyed trying some new cocktails that Lana was creating. Overall a great spontaneous Sunday afternoon, thank you.

After vising back in February and having a 10/10 experience with my friends, I bought my family along on Saturday and was utterly disappointed. Service was appalling, we had to ask to order drinks after sitting for 15 mins and not being served. No one came over to see if we were ok / enjoying the food. We then had to ask for more drinks as staff were just standing near the kitchen talking and not seeing to us. Waitress barely spoke to us. Food was still great but the atmosphere was dead and the service was seriously lacking.

A real paradox. Daughter's 16th birthday. Great rustic atmosphere. Small and bijou. Great staff. Attentive and knowledgeable. However, my £20 rather stingy pasta dish was bland. My starter, beautifully presented, was bland. The spaghetti with mint, was obliterated with mint and inedible. The lamb and pork, so I am told was VERY tasty. A real mixed bag. Would I give it another go? No. Daughter left very disappointed.

I loved Pasta Nostra… thought something had changed when I visited last and seems could be new ownership?! My pasta was over cooked and the bowl was more mushrooms than pasta! The whole experience was disappointing, which didn’t come cheap. Such a shame as always a go to… not anymore :( In response to the restaurants comments… I visited with a friend around a month ago (didn’t know there was a time limit on reviews) and you certainly had mushroom pasta on the menu as I had a bowl full! I did bring up the bowl of mushrooms with a staff member and was told other people thought the same but there was in fact pasta underneath! I was also told the pasta tasted over cooked because it was vegan. I’ve had vegan pasta before and it didn’t taste over cooked. The mushrooms also had a gritty taste. My friend had the ragu which was dry with little flavour. I don’t appreciate you trying to make out I’m lying… As I said I’ve been to you many times and taken friends and family. After this added experience, I won’t be returning

Mucked up our booking but food is excellent. We love it here. Lunch deal is a steal and includes a glass of pop too.

Lovely staff, friendly and chatty. Busy with lots of full tables and a good atmosphere. Menu was limited, there is not an extensive choice. Two of us ordered the pesto pasta which was very very salty but on mentioning this, the staff removed one of the charges from the bill. The other dish ordered was the short rib which was tasty. Menu needs a few more dishes for main and dessert in our opinion.

Visited with friends on a Saturday afternoon, we hadn’t booked anywhere but luckily managed to get a table here, the menu offer on a Saturday afternoon is such great value for money, super fresh food with tons of flavour. Booked to come back again in a couple of weeks!

We’re not sure why we left it so long. Absolutely delicious. Great, friendly service and unrushed. Perfect.

This was our second visit having really enjoyed the first. There was no bread available so we didn’t have a taster entree. The food was delicious but the portion was so small that we went home and had something to eat and at just short of £80 for 2 very small mains, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water, sadly I don’t think we will probably go back. It is a shame because the food & atmosphere are all good

Absolutely 5* for me. The girls took me for my birthday and it was lovely, from starters to main to desert I could not fault. Even the wine was so nice. If we didn’t like it we were given another one. The service was great and I cannot wait to go back.

A lovely small restaurant with a wooden-rustic feel. Staff friendly and welcoming. One of the nicest (and cheesy!) carbonara dishes I have had in a long time. I will return when I'm back in Essex.

Christmas Eve with my family of four. It was 10/10. The meal for our toddler was £4 for a large, healthy pasta dish with a lovely juice. Do you know how refreshing it is knowing my baby was eating WELL in a restaurant instead of the usual nugget & chips? For £4!!! I hope this stays this way as it was really refreshing. The flavours of our dishes were exceptional, proper Italian food, better than any other Italian restaurant we’ve been to. Other Italians are bigger portions and cheaper I admit, but there’s a place for both, depending on what you fancy. My husband & I felt really comfortable. Lovely, friendly staff. The dessert was so good I ordered TWO, one after the other. Proper greedy but I didn’t care, it was amazing. Our bill was expensive but we chose expensive wine & ordered more food than usual as it was Christmas Eve, bit of a treat. It’s the best restaurant in Leigh on sea by far. A lovely impromptu lunch. Took my son here as our first choice was closed and I'm so glad I did. It is expensive so it was a bit of a treat but it was absolutely delicious. It really isn't 'just a plate of pasta'. If you value care and flavour over portion sizes you'll be happy here. The service was really lovely, and the atmosphere and music are perfect - good vibes all round. The pasta is delicious and the flavours and complex and considered. My son said it was the best pasta he'd ever had and my panna cotta was the best I'd ever had. We swiftly booked a table to come back.

Visited with friends on a Saturday evening. It was a small restaurant but cosy. Our table wasn’t ready so we stood awkwardly by the front door waiting to be seated. When we sat down we were handed our menus and ordered drinks. The menu is very small but that isn’t always a bad thing. I have to say, like the menus the portions were very small. The prices were unfortunately not so small! I cannot see how they can justify £20 for a small bowl of pasta and with 3 of us having two glasses of wine each, 3 starters and 3 bowls of pasta and coffee costing nearly £200 it seemed the London restaurant have brought the London prices along too! Sadly the small portions and the high prices for pasta dishes will mean I won’t be returning.

Food and pasta was delicious, couldn't fault this. However service lets this place down massively, firstly they have a Sunday set menu but 90% of the dishes involving fish or meat include a surcharge which is so cheeky, I can understand if there's a £5 surcharge for a fillet steak but it was for a lot of the menu. Salt/pepper/parmesan/chilli oil should be offered as standard with pasta dishes and is the standard service you get in somewhere a lot more basic e.g Ask/Prezzo, but you had to ask and wait for that here. The staff were not friendly/personable, they lacked a friendly approach you would usually expect in a local, small eatery. They filled up glasses of the 'free flowing' wine to less than 100ml each time, I find it strange to advertise it as 'free flowing' when you have to constantly ask for the top-ups and the top-ups are so small. I have never experienced this before. We paid the bill including the service charge as a gesture of goodwill, despite the service charge not being hugely deserved. They then chased us down the street to pay £5 which was missing from the bill. This could have easily been taken off the high service charge which we did pay, chasing customers down the street for £5 which could be taken out of the service is also strange, we paid it but in hindsight shouldn't have. I think they have a lot to improve on and the service was a huge let down to be honest.

Don’t go!!!!!!! Awful afternoon with free flowing Sunday. The glasses are definitely NOT free flowing! Everything on the menu with meat is extra £4-£5. We had 10 minutes to go at the end and we asked for a last glass of wine and got 2cm of wine. We asked for a drop more and was refused. We had drunk Approx 2 bottles of wine between 6 people for the whole duration. Paid the bill, including the tip and asked if we want the change. We said “no keep it”. Left and walked up the road and then we were then chased up the road for an extra £5 “discretionary tip”. Disgusting service. Rude and unhelpful staff. Awful atmosphere. Food ok on fixed menu but not all available, which if you’re a vegetarian, gluten free or vegan makes things very difficult. Nothing offered as a replacement. Worst brunch we’ve ever had. Will not return.

I visited with a group of friends on a Friday evening. It was very busy, so fortunately my friend had booked for us. I had reviewed the menu online beforehand so knew what I was having- the website does not show dessert or drinks menu however. I started with a lovely cocktail that was not on the main menu- campari, black cherry and prosecco. The large ice cubes as seen in exclusive bars was very pleasing! To start with, my friends ordered the lasagne croquettes (these were huge!), the burrata and scallops. I had the carpaccio which was also a generous size, and very tasty. Everyone was really pleased with their starters. Onto the mains, 3 of us opted for the same dish; the tonnarelli cacio e pepe. This was stunning and just the right size, enough to be satisfied but not stuffed! Another friend opted for the mafade (beef short rib pasta) which looked and smelt amazing, and another had my reserve choice- the linguine with crab and samphire. Again, the whole party were really pleased with our choices. This is where the minor niggle comes in; the dessert. Our table discussed the options at length- 3 wanted the tiramisu. I was torn between the panna cota (with rhubarb) and the gelato with olive oil and sea salt. I had olive oil ice cream at Restaurant Sat Bains in July, and it was amazing. I decided I would go for the gelato. I must have said this clearly, as when one of my friends said 'i'll go for the gelato TOO' another friend replied 'oh, you are going for that as well'. When desserts came out, an affogato was put down in front of me by the waiter. I politely said 'sorry, I ordered the gelato', rather than apologise he argued with me that I hadn't and that I had definitely ordered the affogato. Quite annoyed by this, i insisted that I hadn't, and the response was 'well it is easily fixable'. I have never encountered this in a restaurant. It is quite loud and busy in there, but my friends confirmed they clearly heard gelato, and even if I hadn't; a simple 'i'm sorry, we can fix that easy enough' was all that was required. Not argue with me! It put a bit of a downer on the meal to be honest, which is a real shame, because the food is outstanding and great value. I probably would visit again, on the merit of the food alone.

Excellent food, service and vibe. It's my third time here and it's always consistently good. And, Pasta Nosta brilliantly caters for GF DF. (Gluten free and dairy free). Feels like you're transported to a cool place in London when you're dining. Service is excellent, attentive and thorough. They know all the allergies and that is super important when I book a restaurant. Relaxed vibes, good dim lighting, amazing fresh gluten free pasta. Great selection of wines and drinks. GREAT cocktails and negroni. Decadent desserts and...the most exciting part for me is being able to order a gluten and dairy free dessert with their frangelico liquor. I ordered all the gfdf desserts the first time I dined here for the whole table. But pretty much ate them all (and prob gained a few Ibs, but well worth it). Starter options are substantial sizes too if you're having drinks and a few small plates and drinks. Highly recommend booking a table here.

On holiday from Italy in Leigh on sea we were craving Italian food. At Pasta Nostra we found it. Good taste, good service ,good portions, good price.

Cute, romantic, tasty and accomadating. Nothing is to much trouble for their amazing team. Came out stuffed and unfortunately no room for desert. Damm will have to come again. Thanks..MH.

Me and my fiancé went to pasta nostra on a Sunday for their free flowing Sunday package, which was three courses and unlimited aperol/wine for £35 and we could not recommend this place enough! The food was incredible, the portion sizes were great and the service was just wonderful. We had Elliot serve us to start with and he was so friendly, accommodating and making sure our glasses were always filled up (always important at a bottomless 😉). Then we had a lovely chat with Taya towards the end who made us fall even more in love with Pasta Nostra. The staff truly did make our experience and we can’t wait to go back!

We come here often, it’s one of our favourites in Leigh. Highly recommend

In my opinion this is the best restaurant in leigh and a great addition to the Broadway. We’ve been several times - with friends, family and children and it’s always great. The kids meal at £4 is a steal as it’s fresh pasta and includes a drink. Top tip - the tiramisu is amazing!

My favourite place to eat in Leigh-on-sea. No matter the time of day the food and service is always exceptional. Elevated and innovative takes on classic dishes that you don't often find in other Italian restaurants in the UK. What's more they welcome families and are just as happy to have a three year old at the table as they are a 93 year old! Oh and the addition of a small deli section is perfection!

Food was very good and plenty of it. Service and atmosphere excellent.

For anyone who has been to Italy, the food here will come as a disappointment. I ordered cacio e pepe, which is not a complicated dish, yet the pasta tasted like tinned spaghetti. We were served within around two minutes of ordering which is an obvious red flag, as if the food had been put in the microwave. Without looking at the dessert menu, I asked if there were cannoli (one of the most popular and well known Italian desserts). The waitress had no idea what I was talking about. Not a good sign for a restaurant professing to cook authentic Italian food.

Nice cosy atmosphere. Friendly service. Would recommend to anyone who loves fresh food and great wine :)

Best restaurant in Leigh on Sea. Not only is the decor and atmosphere the best in town (decor upmarket/smart, no bling; atmosphere small and intimate yet lively), but the food was exquisite and the waiting staff really professional

Came here on valentines night and did not disappoint! Was busy but didn't feel rushed at all. The waiter was great - recommended a wine and main dish for us. Pasta is handmade and tastes very fresh. We took the polenta starter which was nice and quite filling actually. Will come back, thanks :-)

The service was impeccable, the staff so friendly and the food was first class including a delicious scallop starter on the specials board, top notch freshly made pasta and the best desserts. The worst experience in Leigh. The customer service was absolutely disgusting. Food was 5/10 - but how they treat dinning guests is repugnant. There are many alternative Italian family run restaurants in this area and we won’t feel the need to return to this restaurant ever.

This small restaurant delivers great food over all courses and the cocktails are great as well.been here three times now and never been disappointed.

We were 10 minutes late but despite no crowds at the door and a £128 bill later we were pressured to leave. 90 mins for a table is not enough time to enjoy your setting. We might have spent more. Italians don't do fast food. This place does. Says it all. Try Cucina instead. They know what they're doing.

I find it astonishing how people can say this restaurant is overpriced or bland. We had an AMAZING late lunch/early dinner here. Sat down at 4pm. Service was fantastic, all the staff were wonderful and we're so good with our children. Stand out dish was the burrata with celeriac. Can't wait to come back!!

I have eaten here a few times, with friends, family, and my partner, and our experience has always been superb every time, the food and atmosphere. I can honestly say it’s the best fresh pasta I have ever had!

Had a really great meal. Food was piping hot, decent portion sizes for three courses and really nice wine. Also fantastic service. Can’t understand some of the negative reviews on here based on our experience.

Really a beautiful lunch spent with my friends, we enjoyed few really tasty starter, parmigiana, arancini, the buttata, and the focaccia which Is a must to try; 3 different pasta, all them really nice, then we finish the meal with a little sweet treat, they got only 3 dessert, but the quality, it’s gorgeous, a really good tiramisù, was what I needed. Service was next level too, really friendly and well knowledge. Short drink list, but the quality of the drink it’s super.

Pasta Nostra was good but nothing more. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great really buzzing which was a great start. The wine was nice & not too expensive & the food was good but unfortunately that was it. The food just needs a bit more to make it great which I’m sure will happen in time. I would definitely recommend as the price for the two of us with wine mains & 4 starters was £130 which is very reasonable.

Basic and simple menu which is good, not putting things on there for the sake of it. Thought the portions were small until I had finished and realised it was the perfect amount. You can taste the quality and effort that goes into making it on site. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. See you again soon!

Gnocchi was good but the portion was small. Focaccia was lovely.

Overpriced and over fussy menu. Limited drink options and trying to be too pretentious. Only two tables full occupied when others in Leigh are full on a Saturday evening. We left most our meals due to awful quality of food. I hope they change things before it’s too late.

We were recommended to try this restaurant, which is more like a cafe really. The pasta was fresh and tasty, the bread was lovely too but coffee a disaster. Only thick strong espresso on offer and served in a glass. The waiter had to go next door to get some hot water to thin it down to make it drinkable for us. Obviously no kettle on the premises! I appreciate the authenticity but not everyone likes extra strong coffee. My friend was shocked that no latte on offer. All very basic, not really impressed.

I have never felt the need to leave a poor review of any restaurant but this was so unbelievably overpriced & overrated that i had to. It is also the only time i have EVER refused to pay a service charge. The service was awful, took a lifetime to get even a menu, and there was no communication between the restaurant staff & our table. They spent the entire time chatting at the desk and ignoring us. The table was stickier than a pub bar at the end of a night. And as for the food, it was quite simply overpriced & bland. I am not exaggerating when i say i can honestly make a better tasting pasta myself at home. I wouldn’t even be bothering writing a review if it wasn’t for the fact they set such high prices for what it is. If you set the price that high, then the least you can do is produce good food, and good service. I have never felt so utterly mugged off for my money. Do not waste your time or money, go elsewhere.

I am not usually the type to leave bad reviews however I need to warn people of the poor experience I had at this restaurant. The food was very expensive, therefore a high quality was expected, 3 out of the 4 of us were given bland, tasteless pasta with extremely small portions. I have had better pasta at restaurants for half the price. I have never asked for a service charge to be removed however the staff seemed more interested in having a chat than serving us our food. I will not be coming here again and will be warning off friends and family. Overpriced, bland and an overall underwhelming experience.

Truly great lunch. A wonderful alternative to a traditional Sunday roast. The best bloody Mary iv had in 30 years. Porchetta to die for. At last along with Alchemy some decent places to eat in Leigh.
