Asked for a cup of tea. Presented with a mug of water and a diffuser. No milk - had to ask for it. No sugar - had to ask for it. No spoon - had to ask for it. Disappointing. See no reason to return any time soon.

We thought it was good. On Saturday morning it was full of customers. Most having drinks but some having food. Our full English was mainly excellent let down only by a single tough overcooked mushroom. Their own beans were great and lots of lovely bacon. I agree with some previous reviews that the coffee could be served in slightly bigger cups/glasses. It is very nice coffee though. Only other feedback is to update the prices on the website as they don't reflect the current menu (says £12 for full English but is actually £15 in cafe) which is quite expensive but with all the artisanal ingredients used and the generous portions totally worth it.

Whats the point of introducing excellent burgers if you never have any in, fail to remove from the menu despite running out the previous day, and dont inform until after having paid. No evening dishes any more, only open for pizzas. And 2nd time disappointed customers. You really wont survive much longer with the new competition in town if you cant pull yoursocks up. I wont be returning

£36 for Veggie breakfast a slice of toast with goat's cheese and mushrooms and 4 cappuccinos (bought 4 to make a point!). The food was nice. The coffee cups are tiny. If you are having breakfast, you need a decent cup of coffee. When I asked for cappuccino in a proper cup (happy to pay extra) I was told "NO" by the 3 chaps at the till as if I'd asked for a roasted Squirrel or something. Eventually I bought 4 cappuccinos and poured them into 2 mugs. If you want to compete with the many great cafes in the area and have repeat customers, you have to give people what they want, especially when they are paying a premium.

Having been here once before for Sunday lunch which we enjoyed, it was a shame that on our second visit we were disappointed. Four of us went for a birthday lunch. Starting with a positive, the mushrooms on toast starter was lovely. However, there were more negatives than positives. Service was slow, the wait for food even slower. Two of us each had the sausage board as a main course. That was very disappointing. We were expecting nice fresh bread with it, but the bread was sliced and a bit dry. It could’ve done with some butter too. Overall, just a dry meal. We asked for chips to share to go with the sausage boards, we never got them. The fish and chips and burger were ok, but nothing special. 2 courses each, 4 pints, a half pint and 2 soft drinks came to £161 with the compulsory service charge. Not worth it.

It's hard to write a review when you didn't get served, but here goes. We go here now and then for coffee and a Danish pastry, it can be busy but this time we found most of the tables were empty, so sat down and then I went to order. In spite of so many empty tables and plenty of staff, when I tried to order I was ignored for a good minute or so by the teenagers behind the counter. One then decided to speak to me and said "we're not taking orders as we're too busy, come back in 20 to 30 minutes". They said the same to the people behind me, so now I know why it was half empty. At least I was spared the pain of the pastries that cost over £4. It's a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by, but never again. I don't like being told my custom isn't wanted because they can't be bothered to get themselves organised. I can see this coffee shop going the same way as the others that folded recently.

I find it despicable that dogs are allowed in these places. When I went in, there were dogs in chairs.....really? So, now non dog owners have to sit in smelly seats, covered in dog hair and potentially fleas! Sorry, dogs outside of any shop. Especially food outlets. NERO, who do I take to court when I get bitten by a dog? You or the dog owner? I shouldn't have to eat or drink food in the presence of other people's animals. I have a Shetland pony as my pet, can I bring her in? If not, why? A pet is a pet right! I will never visit this disgusting shop again........

Food expensive but ok. It had been raining and they had 2 wet floor signs out. 4 people slipped over in the 30 minutes I was there. I went to tell them that it was too slippery especially the side part. The server said he knew but nothing could be done about it. I stated that it was algae and it could be cleaned or the area worst affected closed off. Nothing was done. Another lady slipped and hurt her knee badly. I reported again and was told there was a sign stating slippery when wet. This sign was 2 Inches x 1.5 inches big on the side of the Cafe in total size. Health and safety are obviously a low priority over profits and no concern was shown to customers even when told.

£3.60 for one cinnamon knot/bun..... shameless. Can't fathom the mark up on these things. Seems people care more about clout or image than paying ridiculous prices. Won't be back.
