Visited here as I do regularly, not sure why I thought it would be any different to any other visit. Last visit before this I went in for a coffee only to be told it wasn't possible as they had cleaned down the coffee machine, 20 minutes prior to closing - to me a closing time is a closing time to the public and up until that point you serve them, then cleaning down commences after, but I could be wrong. This time I asked for a plain cheese sandwich after checking the shelves to which there was only tuna mayo & egg salad (something similar) left. The lady behind the counter refused to do this for me, blaming Natasha's Law, now I take this very seriously and understand the reasoning behind, however this law regards pre packaged food & labelling. As this isn't the first time I have been refused by the same lady something other than what's on the shelf (which most of the time may I add is hardly anything because they only make a certain amount & have a "it is what it is attitude". ) I am putting it down to pure laziness. It is a shame as Usk doesn't have a decent bakery. It is hardly ever open due to staff shortages, they aren't willing to branch out on customer requests and the attitude is far from hospitable.

Absolutely terrible , horrible , rude woman . Obviously doesn’t want to be there . I am actually quite shocked by how rude she was . Blunt and down right disrespectful .

If you book a too good to go bag from this bakery dont be late. I was 2 minutes late and the staff shouted from inside that they were closed and shook their heads at me when . Clearly prefer to throw the food away rather than open the door and pass me a bag ! Shocking

On a couple of occasions the lady serving has been quite rude. It would be nice to greet customers with a smile!

My wife and I went to the bakery for their meal deal. 1 other person was in there, so I walked in only for the rude person behind the counter to snap and say only 1 household at a time. The poster was on the opposite side of the door, so I hadn't seen it. It's an okay bakery with a good meal deal, but the staff make it almost unbearable. If you go, expect some bad attitude

I actually cannot believe how rude this woman is , the rudest woman I have ever come across ..every time I have visited this shop I was hoping maybe it was just a bad day but unfortunately this woman’s rudeness knows no bounds , today was a whole new ball game , politeness costs nothing , absolutely dreadful customer relations

Me and my partner visited this story at 12.06 on the 7th May 2021! We waited outside while the lady behind the till giggled and laughed with a gentleman that was also a customer when he left the store we both went in and being from the same household and both wearing masks it’s never been a problem before. My Partner is dyslexic and has problems reading the small stickers that say what is in the sandwiches. When we entered we were told only one person at a time so I asked how is that possible for us to order and pay with 1 of us still being stood outside? With her response sounding so sarcastic saying 1 wait outside while the other orders and pays then the next come in and order and pay so my response was that we were paying and ordering together and that my partner needs help reading she refused to help him read what was in the sandwich’s, so we both ended up leaving without actually ordering because she made it so difficult for us! I’m taking into consideration of COVID rules but visit this store at least twice a week and it’s never been a problem with any other staff!

Even at the end of a long hot day the service was friendly & helpful. I placed an order for early collection the next day & even when I arrived earlier than anticipated and upgraded it to 2 meal deals they couldn't have been nicer. Well done Parsons.

So disappointed with Parsons....always enjoyed a sugary sweet treat of a cream slice. I was told yesterday they no longer sell the cream slices however they didn't say why. So yep RIP Parsons off to find an alternative bakery to satisfy my sweet craving of a delicious gooey cream slice!!

This is Bakery and not a restaurant but does sell coffee, cakes, sandwiches, pasties etc. They also bake excellent bread - I find the granary option particularly good. Situated on the main street in Usk, the shop is always well patronised especially mid morning - breakfast time etc.

The staff spoil me by letting me choose which Chelsea bun, I buy. You would be surprised how a batch can produce different coloured and textured buns. I all also notice how attentive each lady that works there is to their other customers. "Parsons" in general produce cakes that suit my palate, and the Usk Parsons is by far the best of the chain.

We stopped by while on a trip to Usk and were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the produce, particularly the bread which looked too good not to pick up. The vanilla slices are much tastier than those on offer elsewhere and the sausage rolls, while a tad pricier than those at that well-known chain of bakeries, are larger and more flavoursome. We'll definitely be visiting again!

I tend to buy my bread here, usually 'granary', I find it excellent. There are also other temptations that look delicious which I generally avoid.

A great local bakery in Usk. Lovely fresh bread and cakes and pasties. Had a really good tuna sour dough bagette for lunch. So many good looking items it was difficult to choose.

Wandering around killing time in Usk I passed a small, old-fashioned shop-front with a window display of pasties etc. with hardly a glance. Half and hour later I was passing it again on the way back to my car. Fortunately, I had a proper look in the window this time.

I love this bakery, it's cheap and amazing. They do a meal deal for £3.50 that includes any drink, any sandwich/roll/panini and any cake. We love to get this deal and take it for a picnic somewhere scenic nearby. They also do amazing, warm, pasties and sausage rolls including vegetarian sausage rolls which are amazing and a great selection of cakes, breads and doughnuts etc. they also do dripping/lardy cakes which are hard to get in Wales. trust me you will not be disappointed by this little, country bakery.

My partner and I came here to check out the Detroit pizza and cocktails. The service was fast and super friendly, plus they catered for my nut allergy really well. Being dog friendly, we took out 12 yo labrador Alffi who had fun, plus and Utterly Mutterly ice-cream! We had the 1/2 and 1/2 Detroit pizza, a mix of Bloody Mary and the porcini mushrooms. It was DELISH, the portion was also massive meaning we took half home for tea, making it 2 meals in 1. My partner had the Detroit IPA which was hoppy and fresh. I had the Shepherd and Welsh Wanderer cocktails. Very strong, delicious and well presented. We have friends that live locally and will absolutely be back to check out the Sunday slices, bring our dogs and have some more pizza and cocktails. Thanks Lee & co for fab hospitality.

Recently refurbished and Rebranded as "Fire & Fork" promising a " a traditional American barbecue experience". No Bread available before Starters. - Pork Burnt Ends - Mixture of under and over cooked chunks of pork in a sickly sweet, slightly spicy smoked sauce. Need something acidic to cut through all the fat came with "Texas "Toast", Stale slice of bloomer spread with an unidentifiable substance. Beef Cigars - Lovely shredded beef in a crispy pancake style roll with a rich, smoked Garlic Mayo. Mains - XL Short Ribs not available so both ordered the 10 Hour Smoked Brisket. Served as described on menu. No discernable smoked crust or flavour to the Brisket. No mustard available at this restaurant. No Napkins provided, asked twice, got some from another table. we dealt with our cutlery shortage similarly. No water provided when requested. Inexperience of the staff evident but more than made up for by their enthusiasm and wish to please. Two Starters, Two Mains, Three pints and a Short / Mixer - £92. Option to add tip to card payment. Cash tip direct to server. This place has lots of potential but needs to overcome teething problems before one will consider a return
