We found this lovely garden centre while looking for a bite of lunch on our travels. Sadly, could not buy any tempting plants being away from home but enjoyed a delicious bowl of hearty soup and a filled roll, served efficiently by the friendly staff. No room for the yummy scones and cakes to follow! I thought the waitress had undercharged,as the price seemed so reasonable,so I was baffled by some complaints about the cost. Certainly,in our home area of Perthshire,we expect to pay more for a similar garden centre lunch. We will certainly return if we are in the area again.

My family are regulars at Parkhill as we live not too far away. I've been twice recently with my mum and sister for afternoon tea. This is hands down one of the nicest afternoon teas we've had. Really brilliant! For £11 each, we got sandwiches, scones and a massive selection of cakes. So much that I had to take home some of them! I've paid twice as much elsewhere and not felt any more impressed. - Excellent value for money. I have been with my hubby and my son for lunch many times as well. The food is always good and so reasonably priced. My only criticism of the lunches... 1. You used to get salad as standard with a panini. Now you have to ask for it as an extra. This feels a bit disappointing considering it's a fairly standard addition elsewhere. I can't ever if you have to pay extra for the salad or not. Maybe they found people were leaving it on the plate previously (?) 2. If after your lunch you want a cake or something it can sometimes be hard to get hold of a member of staff. I normally head up to the counter but it feels a bit rude on my part. All in all this is one of our favourite lunch spots 💗

Very disappointed with our lunch here today. Ordered two paninis only to discover you have to pay extra for a tiny portion of crisps, coleslaw etc - all items that accompany the dish in other similar establishments. All chefs should take pride in presentation, adding sides with sandwiches/paninis in future isn’t a big ask. Paying £20 for two tasteless coronation chicken paninis with no spice, very little chicken filling and no offer of “sides” included as standard is unacceptable. Staff are polite however all staff are rushing around and don’t appear to communicate with customers other than when placing the order. Sadly, we won’t be returning and will take our business elsewhere.

Used to come here all the time but I have been really unwell and been stuck in all the time. My family and I went there today. Food was nice. I had a tuna n cheese baked . Potato What got me was if you wanted salad or coleslaw or crisps which you used to get anyway they charged you extra. I think that is disgusting. Cafe was packed as usual, so they are obviously taking in the money without having to charge extra for what is expected to accompany a baked potato.

Garden centre looks nice and cafe rather busy but sadly didn’t see much more of it as it isn’t dog friendly. Family are new to the area and wanted to support an independent business but sadly that won’t be possible so it was back to Dobbies which does cater for dogs. Pity. Ironically I did noticed that it did sell some doggy merchandise. It looked worth a visit but not with your dog. 👨🏻🐶☹️

I was made aware the cafe was about to close by the waitress. Not verbally telling their remaining customers, but by slapping three bills onto the last three tables (while all still eating) saying here is your bill. No communications to see if the tables wanted anything else and clearly was not finished. That is the rudest way to get customers out fast.

We came for the first time to coffee shop since the restrictions have been in place. Every precaution has been taken to keep customers safe. Shown quickly to table by waitress. However sat for a while as 2 other waitresses continued drying cutlery and putting it away.(visit was at 3.15pm) They totally ignored us and carried on with what they were doing-does the customer not come first? We were then served and the coffee/tea and cakes were really nice. Always feel here that they want you to leave so that they can clear up and go home. Where is the friendly young bloke(manager?) that used to be there? He was so good with the customers.

You can't park there! was our first interaction here. It didn't help that the 'no parking zone' was between the 2 disabled spots and looked the same especially as the disabled markings were faded and was not hatched out. Cafe service was good, coffee was weak. Very poor mobile phone signal and no WiFi provided isn't great.

Had lunch with a friend in the coffee shop at the Parkhill Garden Centre. I had lentil and vegetable soup and farmhouse bread which was very nice. My friend had tomato soup which she said was lovely. She also had a scone and jam also very nice. Covid precautions seemed to be in place and we waited to be seated. Everything appeared clean and tables were wiped after use. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't have any cakes but those on display looked lovely.

Went in for a quick take away ice cream for me and the kids. There were 2 young girls behind the counter. 1 person was paying for their sit down meal and a mum and push chair were at the ice cream. Seemed to be struggling with Apple Pay and took an age to serve the ice cream. The other staffer was making coffees. A queue started forming and the mum left. Unfortunately I was ignored and the person who just walked on got served. I walked out and got served instantly next door. Not the first time happened in there. I won’t be back

Right next to where we stayed this little cafe was calling out for us to get coffee and cake. The cake offering was very good with lots of choice and the same with the drinks. Both were delicious - however, the service was so slow due to there being one member of staff trying to manage everything with a queue forming outside and orders coming in on an app. There needs to be more people helping.

Was having a family Christmas lunch there were 4 adults and 2 children, we were welcomed in,all proper procedures were adhered to, server asked about allergies before we ordered great but went down hill fast from there 3 of the adults had carvery we were asked what meats we wanted 2 wanted all 3 1 wanted gammon and turkey that was all we were asked. When the meal came she did not know what was on plate.Potatoes, vegetables etc were already on plate not in dishes to take what you wanted (as we were not asked what we wanted) the food was not even look warm and there were very full plates went back, it was not even asked when the server saw the full plates if there was a problem, as this was a Christmas family lunch and £60 we were very disappointed and would think twice about visiting again.
