We last visited this excellent restaurant in 2019, and returned for lunch. The staff were most attentive, the restaurant beautifully appointed. The lunch/all day menu is freshly prepared throughout,of excellent quality and delicious. The wine list is small but select. There is a choice of seating at table in the restaurant, in the lounge or outdoors under parasols overlooking the croquet lawn. The staff were more than happy to accommodate our one year old grandson.

We dined here both evenngs during our recent stay, and ate lunch once too. The menu is ideal, good selection and dishes artfully presented on the plate. Bteween the group of us we sampled nearly all the options and all were delighted with our choices. The lunchtime treacle tart was awesome. The cooked breakfast options were varied and delicious. The breakfast buffet beforehand was a bit limited, especially the fruit which had no fresh berries and no "dried" style fruits (e.g. prunes or apricots), just bland melon and grapefruit. Overall, great atmosphere (conseravtory definitely lighter and more charming than the internal dining areas), lovely food, good value and great service

To find out that this hotel is just round the corner from where you live is a wonderful surprise. We visited for afternoon tea to celebrate my mother’s special birthday. It’s not cheap - but my goodness you get what you pay for. The food and service is stunning. The surroundings exquisite and the service was first class. I can’t wait to go back for a spa day! I can thoroughly recommend this beautiful, intimate setting.

We stayed for two nights and had dinner in the restaurant on both evenings, as well as lunch one day. Lunch was lovely, a selection of sandwiches, salads (loved the stilton, walnut, pear and caramelised onion option) or light bites, and the dessert of the day, treacle tart, was AWESOME. Dinner was also very good, with a variety of starters and main courses to appeal to most tastes. The slight disappointment was that the menu was exactly the same on both evenings. For those who couldn't choose between favourites on the first night that was a bonus, but for others they felt they had exhausted their preferred options too early. My market fish with samphire and brown shrimp was delicious, as was the sirloin steak (enormous portion!). The cod cake starter was very good, just the right size. The dessert sorbets were unusual flavours and a great end to generous dining. Throughout the staff were a real delight, so charming, patient and cheerful. The cooked breakfast options were lovely, but there wasn't much choice in the fruits (e.g. really missed dried and stewed prunes, apricots, figs etc), just some melon and canteloupe.

This hotel is well known locally for its high standards of accommodation and spa. The restaurant sees to have been under the radar. We have had both lunch and dinner there, and can recommend it as excellent. The quality menu is small and well balanced. The food is freshly prepared and presented with care. The wine list is somewhat over priced for the range of wines on offer.

Love this restaurant. Very pleasantly surprised at the attentive service, superb food & good wine. Lovely atmosphere, lots of locals, decor of a traditional Indian restaurant. Large menu. All the staff were welcoming & the food was fab. It’s a great asset to Midhurst.

Visited here for afternoon tea. Welcome was ok, but then we waited for a while to see if there was a free table. Bizarrely no one else was in the cafe and the upstairs service where we were seated was almost unfriendly and you felt you were in the way. When we asked for a spoon for our tea we were greeted with a huff and puff… Gets good reviews elsewhere, but sadly not from us..

Decor/decorum was nice. Staff were nice enough.. Came in early evening with a couple of tables already inside. Food was okay but no wow factor to it. Didn’t think prices of items reflected what we got. They forgot an item that we ordered but gave us another item that we didn’t instead, so perhaps a mix up there. No check back to see how our meal was/for us to get another drink. Chorizo, calamari, mushrooms, a side salad with a med wine and bottle of beer with service charge came just shy of £60.. which I’m in two minds about, If it was worth it based on the overall visit. Overall experience was okay but wouldn’t go back in a hurry based on experience but perhaps a one off.
