Had lunch today 7th Movemer 2024. Food was delicious, huge portions. Restaurant wasn't busy when we went in, so service was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. Will certainly eat there again and highly recommend.

Saffron Chicken: 7/10 (the turmeric in the gravy will stain your fingers for at least 24 hours despite ample washing with soap) Lamb Shawarma: 8/10 (It was a bit confusing to see it served without any bread, but the server had informed us about that) Aubergine side: 7/10 (overpowering taste of tomatoes) Saffron Rice: 7/10 (tasted like plain basmati rice colored yellow) Naan: 7/10 (hard to go wrong with Naans usually unless they're not freshly out of the oven, which these clearly weren't) All of this for about £60 and not the friendliest customer service.

Just got a beautiful wrap, ordered and went to pick up, want quite ready but the staff went the extra mile and hand delivered for me within ten minutes, food was delicious too.

Bad experience in food and customer service. The price is too high for that kind of order, I have even been charged £12 for a "customer service" 🙄 what a joke. The only good thing is the presentation of the food, not really the tast though. Will never do it again.

Nice meal completely spoiled by being asked to leave approximately 40 minutes into our visit and having just eaten a final mouthful with "we need this table back" from the chap who'd taken our order. For clarity, he was not the person who showed us to our table nor greeted us at the door on the way in. Sure, we hadn't booked, but no mention was made at any time of requiring the table back. Just plain rude and needless bad behaviour. Will not be back.

I've came here a few times as the food was always amazing however I feel recently the last few times it hasn't been as good at all. My most recent visit which was at around 4pm, the food really was not all that good, bread was stale etc and the servers where nowhere to be seen even though there was only 3 or 4 tables in at the time. Unfortunately this has started to put me off, which is a shame as I used to highly recommend this place to people for some amazing grilled dishes. I hope it improves and doesn't get worse like some other places have done

I feel bad for leaving 2 Star because the food was 5 star, but the staff very unwelcome and full of gossiping about customers and myself I do philosophy and I know what I am, I am the person who asked you at the door if you are the owner. And they talking and laughing loudly just like they hanging out in a pub. The atmosphere was perfect apart from their sound in the background You can’t even have a quality conversation with their sound in the background. From the minute we walked in I said hello in Iranian and was a very cold response to the point they want me to feel bad in front of my wife, who is Persian, but me and my Mrs we have fun for the ones who do this. For the fact, I left all my favourites Middle Eastern cuisine in Glasgow who make me feel welcome and just like being at Home. And the choice of the table they were all empty. I know there is a booking system but she gave me the worst table under the heater which is totally made me uncomfortable. For the fact, every other customer came in, she gave them a choice from which table to which they like to sit. Totally ignorant and I was full of shame, for trying a different cuisine that makes me feel unwelcome. But thanks, I’ll stick to my culture food, and my Persian wife love it. Thanks to the chef for the food it’s perfect ❤️.

Agree with the above post. As my husband and I entered, he was friendly and tried to greet staff in Iranian but met with a cold, judgmental attitude. They didn’t say anything just looked and they stood right in front until he asked if it’s Persian and they said yes. Immediately felt uncomfortable but the restaurant looked beautiful and a brilliant menu. The food was delicious. Loved the interior so authentic and cosy atmosphere. Would have given higher rating but the staff was such a let down. Mainly the waitress who took our payment as was a bit judgemental. You can serve the most delicious food in a stunning setting, but if the staff lacks warmth and kindness, the beauty fades, and the desire to return vanishes.

Highly recommend the lamb shank

The restaurant has great customer service and a nice interior design with good hygiene. However, the food was average, with the Jejo chicken being a bit dry and the Naan bread not particularly special.

Had a lovely meal with a friend, 4 coarse meal, food was lovely staff very friendly, we had ordered numerous dishes, starters ect, ect, however the plates we had for starters were very small, and they didn't offer fresh plates for the second coarse, apart from that it was still a good day, very tasty.

The food is very nice although it caters more to the Western crowd which compromises on authenticity of the food. Kebabs are delicious, both lamb and chicken. Would definitely recommend as probably the best Iranian food in Glasgow.

Personally, I like the interior decor, the serving dishes, and most of the appetizers I've ordered so far. Unfortunately, since their kebabs don't taste good and can't really be called kebabs, we are not regular customers. We only go there occasionally for their delicious chicken kebabs.

I ordered two mains and I only received one , so this place is not recommended :/

The food was okay. But the male waiter was super rude. He thought we didn't understand him. Don't be rude. Just don't come here, so rude and instructing us loudly to remove our stuff from the chairs just next to us. No one was there, we can remove the stuff quickly, do not shout. Please have some manners. I had a really bothering experience here, the food was OK but the waiter was kinda not welcoming,I think he has a problem with diversity..could do better if learn more about customer service and communication skills

We visited this restaurant for the first time and before we entered an employee asked if we’re going inside. It was around 9:30 pm he said that the restaurant is closed. I asked again to make sure if the restaurant closes at 9:30pm, he said yes. When I checked online later, I found out it actually closes at 10 PM. The employee could have been honest and mentioned they were closing soon. Very disappointing first visit.

This has been on my go to list for a long time. Finally visited and was not disappointed. Trio of dips, naan, pomm salad and the mixed grill for 2. All bloody delicious! I will come back. Nice clean interior, nice location.

Can't believe I've been walking past this place for years - we took a chance on a recommendation and it was one of those meals where my partner and I kept looking at each other with wide eyes as we'd try the next thing. Everything was delicious, the range of textures and tastes was amazing and there was way more on the menu that we didn't get a chance to explore. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the dishes we missed. We ordered a naan bread each, and with another 5 mezze, that was a really substantial lunch for two. The trio of dips was a great way of trying different dishes in smaller portions. The lamb shawarma came with salad and pickles, and was the perfect mix of juicy lamb with crusty edges. The loaded houmous was giant, piled with feta and olives, dusted with some sesame seeds for great texture. The sticky spicy aubergine was amazing, round slices of aubergine in a glassy, almost tempura-like batter, then glazed with a sweet and spicy sauce. Somehow, the batter remained crunchy under the glaze for the whole time we ate. And the unexpected star was the carrot and radish salad - we ordered it as a crunchy counter-balance to the richer stuff, but the dressing was so incredible that we were basically fighting over it by the end of the meal. A great place for large parties, too, as the table next to us ordered a mixed grill for 4, and didn't get near to finishing it. Worth mentioning, too, was the large selection of vegetarian offerings - we both remarked during the meal that we could have easily picked something other than the lamb shawarma and not even have realised that we had had a meat-free lunch.

I ordered online Lamb shank £19.00 It usually comes with rice. They never send me the rice I phoned the restaurant, they told me it doesn't come with rice & they Hang up the phone, basically for a piece of lamb shank £19.00 with no rice absolute rip off, I went to 3 Mitchelin star iranian restaurant in London for the same thing only £18.00, me and my family used Saffron restaurant for a long time but not anymore, you guys Should be ashamed for your poor service and rip off prices.

I have amended my review as it was wrong. I tried to put 5 stars but the programme closed when I tried to enter my rating and would not let me amend it. For the record I thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience and apologise for any confusion. Go and experience it. Very very good food with lots of imagination.

The lamb shawarma rice bowl with the aubergines added on and get the diced potatoes with feta on the side. This is the best combination and I miss this place so much. I have moved away from Glasgow. So every time I am back I make sure to give it another go. It is a shame that the rice bowl is only available for collection or delivery and you cannot dine in as it is part of the street food!

There is a reason this place has a good reputation. Really interesting dishes with great flavour. Lovely staff and good value.

Ordered mixed grill and a fresh juice. Both were delicious but I did find two different types of plastic in my drink, one soft like from a plastic bag and one hard like it had snapped off something. I showed the waitress and even though I made it clear I wasn't angry it was still on the bill at the end. Couldn't be bothered asking not to pay for the drink, which I think would have been fine, as by this point many screaming children who ran around jumping on tables, screaming and crying and fighting with each other while their mum sat on her phone were taking up all of the atmosphere so I wanted to immediately leave. I think I would get the mixed grill again but avoid the juice and definitely just do takeaway. I understand kids will be kids but this was ridiculous bad behaviour and not one person batted an eye lid. The music was also insanely loud so the atmosphere was just terrible in the end.

Get the grilled lamb (not minced), it tasted really good especially with a sprinkle of sumac. Tip to the restaurant, please find a better way to present the sumac instead of providing it in a plastic bag like it's drugs.

Wanted to try this place for a while and eventually took the plunge. It’s very small inside, felt like the tables were literally sat on top of each other. Need to remove some for more space. Service was good enough, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was spoiled by the aforementioned table situation. Noisy and cramped is how I’d describe it. The food unfortunately was just average at best. Nothing jumped out really. The chicken in the saffron chicken dish was really tender and moist, but the sauce was overpowering. The aubergine was too sweet. The lamb in the kebab was chewy and not that flavoursome. The dolmeh was quite bland. I forgot to take a picture of rhetorical potatoes, they were decent though and the cheese nice and tangy. My usual “would I go back” test is sadly a no. At nearly £70 it seemed a little pricey as well.

I don’t like the service at all. I tried them over 10 times and the service is very bad and the food not as the same as before. The bread was amazing but now very bad and dry from heating it in microwave!

Authentic Iranian food and atmosphere. We had the Kashke Bademjoun, Moosir dip, Bakhtiary kebab, and koubideh. All were top-notch taste and quality.

Went for lunch with my friend Mostafa today. It was a great choice. Kashk Bademjan for starters, beautiful! Koubideh Kebab and Chenjeh Kebab for main, again beautiful. Amazing food, beautifully presented. Thanks for a great lunch, we will definitely be back.

Good value - had 7 plates with drinks for under 50 notes. Lamb shawarma very good, as was the Mirza Ghasemi. Sumac prawns enjoyable also. Point off cos the salad just used bagged leaves, a bit uninspired and the feta was just a massive lump rather than cubes/strips. Also, Persian with no torshi?!

As a vegetarian it was great to have a good choice of dishes and if I could I would have tried them all! I had the trio of dips, naan breads, falafel, jewelled rice and okra and mushroom stew (shared with a meat eater who enjoyed a chicken shawarma). Ok, maybe it was too much! Everything was delicious! The waiter was very friendly and helpful with menu choices. I would return to try the aubergine and carrot dishes which I would have squeezed in if I could!

Small cosy Persian cousine. We tried the Koubideh Kebab, and the quality was moderate. The Kebab recipie style was not my cup of tea, but it was still worth trying. The staff are lovely and very welcoming.

Great food, service, and portion sizes!

Had a really great dinner at Saffron. My wife and I purposely ordered too much food as we wanted to try as many dishes as possible with a future family event in mind. It didn’t disappoint! As suggested by a number of reviewers, the flavours in some of the dip options are amazing. In addition, we tried the Pomm and Paradise salads, the Chicken Shawarma, a couple of the stews and the mixed kebab. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal (albeit that we couldn’t finish it all!). Everything was cooked to perfection and served tastefully by really courteous staff. Three weeks later, Ahmad and his team catered a family event for 20 people at our home. We enjoyed a fantastic selection of dishes, again really tastefully presented, and all our guests were equally blown away by the quality and flavours of the food.

Enjoyed the trio of dips we started off with...it was super smooth and creamy. Had a mix of chicken and lamb grill with some rice along with some sauted carrots as well😍😍🥰🥰. My experience at Saffron by Paradise was a complete disaster. The waitresses were consistently rude, giving us dirty looks and ignoring us multiple times. The food, despite its hefty price tag, was tasteless and not worth the expense. Adding to the frustration, they charged an additional £7.99 serving fee, refusing to remove it when questioned. The waitress argued that it was stated on the menu, displaying a lack of customer empathy. Furthermore, the inconsistency in table assignments left us perplexed; we were denied a specific table with the explanation that it was for four people, only to see two people seated there later. Overall, a disappointing combination of poor service, tasteless food, and questionable fees. وع لحد يروح له

Superb Persian food in Glasgow? Yes. Absolutely perfect.

It was my first visit to Safferon by Paradise after seeing so many recommendations from others. And I must say it didn't disappoint and i would love to return in the futrue. The staff are very friendly and helpful from the reservation to the actual dinner service. Food is phenomenal, love all the unique flavours. Its menu is curated to encourage sharing with your group. I would highly recommend the lamb dishes, I also enjoy Sumac prawn. The only thing i find a bit underwelming was the dish called Dolmeh, it tastes refreshing but not much flavour to it.

Absolutely tremendous. First visit to this restaurant and oh wow, so impressed! Food was absolutely delicious, friendly & helpful staff and a nice intimate atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back! The sticky spicy aubergine & the pistachio dip were the absolute stand outs but honestly every single dish was just incredible. 10/10!

Booked the table in person rather than online but weren't told we'd only have the table for an hour and a half. After an hour and twenty minutes we were told we had 10 minutes left- despite being allowed to order an extra dish and drinks shortly before. The meal had been excellent so this was a disappointing end to the night. The manager eventually came back and said someone had cancelled and we could stay on. We were then able to finish the meal but we didn't feel like staying after that. A shame - I had been looking forward to the Baklava dessert . Delicious meal but disappointing customer service.

Heard about this gem from my daughter so made the trip to check it out for myself with my better half. First impressions make the difference and we had booked it using their booking system as it was a Saturday I didnt want to leave it to chance and I am glad i did as walk ins were being politely turned away. We arrived 20 mins early and rather than being turned away to come back at the allotted time (there isnt a waiting area) the host politely had a look at her booking system and temporarily sat me down at a vacant table while our table was getting ready. We ended up requesting to stay where we were and they accommodated this. This was an common theme, accommodating when clearly very busy, great work. Atmosphere and decor spot on, Iranian themed and an partially open kitchen added to the atmosphere and I forgot to mention the lovely smell of fresh cooked food when you enter the restaurant tells you that you are in for something special. Now onto the menu, simple and descriptive, one page with a not overbearing selection. We ordered for starters, Naan, trio of dips, diced potato fries, spicy tond chicken kebabs, and stick spicy aubergine. We were blown away. The food received was simply on a whole new level, fresh tasting and explosions of flavours in our mouths was consistent. The trio of dips complemented with the naan, sublime. Hard to pick out a favourite, if i had to it would be the pistachio dip as I am a nut fan and pistachios I have as of my top 3 nuts. So i was over critical and not disappointed. The fries were triple cooked and garnished to perfection, the chicken was tender and succulent, again mixing this with the dips added to the experience positively. My only criticism is the naans while lovely when received go cold a little quick but some may not mind this, it didnt bother me but did my wife, maybe if they can be presented in a way that they stay warm longer than they do could be looked at (but as this is my review no points marked down from me ☺️). The standout dish was the stick spicy aubergine, they are probably the one dish that made me think, was the 50 mile trip worth it, YES YES YES, if you like aubergines, then be prepared, actually even if you dont like aubergines or never had aubergines, please just try this dish, i thought i had died and gone to heaven. The portions are so generous for this dish and all the dishes that after this melee my wife and I were stuffed. ……and we had also ordered a main, oh dear. So for future reference all of the above was enough to make us full. So should you want to try and go for a main my advice would be to cut out 2 of the above and then share a main. We ordered the special chicken which is offered with a nan, saffron rice or fried potatoes, we asked for rice and ordered a naan also. Presented beautifully and again the meat was spot on and succulent and expertly cooked…..top points for your chefs. They provided butter for the rice and i have to say, I am not a rice fan, I’m converted, i just wish we had the room to put it, we had been interacting with the polite staff who were amazing and they provided a takeaway box to take it home. For drinks they have a good selection of wines which i could see, however as we dont drink we opted for something that caught my eye and if you blink you may miss it as its the last drink item on their menu, which is a shame because it should be front and center it was that good…..doongh (apologies if spelt incorrectly) what a drink, its a carbonated yogurt drink with walnuts and mint on the rocks, my head went as ive had plenty of yoghurt drinks but carbonated, no, we ordered one, to try, my better half took one sip and said you need to get your own haha, i did and i could see why, light, refreshing and simply amazing, best yoghurt drink I’ve had in a long while. So in summary, book a table and go visit this fantastic restaurant in glasgow, you will be absolutely blown away. Well done. I’ll be back for sure. Just saw some reviews around restricted table times, when booking online it tells you when its required back, no issues.

This place use to be the best persian restaurant in Glasgow, but after going there the last month the service and tastes have changed. The chicken skewers were dry, the flavours of everything was so salty and so burnt. They got our order wrong as gave extra dish when it was someone else’s but we gave it back. The lady there kept coming to take plates away and told us they needed the table back in 10 mins but we had made a reservation, so didn’t know there was a restricted time limit. Atmosphere is great as always though.

Used often. But I am afraid quality of food has deteriorated. In my opinion, Kebab's are not made from mince meat anymore. They looked and tasted as there was something else in them to give impression that the meat is nice and tender. Kebabs were mixed with something else which I did not like. Persian bread was the best but no more. I would say now it is probably the worse.

The food was disappointing compared to other Persian restaurants worldwide and most dishes had a very weird taste I did not enjoy it! The service was good, there was one waitress that was nice and helpful but the one who served our table was in a bad mood she might’ve been going through a bad day. The music is beautiful and the atmosphere might actually be the best thing about the restaurant. I might come again only for the Persian ice cream 🍨.

Unbelievably high quality. I am Middle Eastern and have eaten at Persian restaurants all over the world and this surpasses all my previous experiences by a mile and more. Try the trio of dips, kashk e bademjan and ghorme sabzi. You might just end up moving to Glasgow to be able to eat here every weekend.

I am Persian and came to Glasgow for a short trip. I have been to many Persian restaurants around the UK and this is by far the best. Food is healthy, fresh and delicious. I can not overstate how much I loved the food.

We visited for lunch today after seeing a recommendation on social media,we were very impressed. Lovely welcome with a table by the window (We Pre Booked). We ordered Lamb & Chicken Shawarma with prawns and diced potato fries & naan,all presently beautifully and tasted amazing! Small restaurant but many tables were full for 2pm on a Sunday afternoon,so definitely a popular spot that we highly recommend ourselves and definitely be back,one not to be missed!

We visited this restaurant yesterday to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary but were denied entry as their licensing policy does not permit children to be in the restaurant past 6 PM. While we understand that bars and pubs may have different restrictions, we were surprised that this policy applied to a restaurant. As someone from Canada where it is common to take children to restaurants for dinner, we found this situation to be unreasonable!
