The venue is gorgeous what a difference. The detail and work put in to make this venue beautiful is incredible. Food was to die for absolutely delicious 10 out of 10

Food and service were both excellent. We had chicken, lamb, bread, rice and salad, all of which were perfectly cooked and delicious. Would definitely go back.

The food was Cold & Horrible. Hairs in kheer (milk pudding) the service by the female staff was horrendous ask for chicken sekh only gave me two tiny pieces. (sekh kebab were chopped into tiny pieces) Ask for water came at the end when finished my dinner. The service was terrible waste of money £20 down the drain I was looking forward to open my fast with good delicious food. Will never come back & wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

There were almost 50 of us and this place did very well with accommodating us. The food took some time to come as expected as they were very busy but it was definitely worth the wait! Amazing food amazing flavours and quality!

Visiting UK from Houston, TX, and drove to Isle of Skye and stopped here on the way back to Leicester. Very nice restaurant with quality food dishes. Service was fast, although the restaurant was almost full. We tried their BBQ tray and also the karahi, and both were outstanding. Also, the chola was crazy tasty (a must try).

My favourite restaurant in Glasgow, I always look forward to visiting. This is authentic Pashtun food and one of the best curries you can get in Scotland. The staff are lovely and very attentive.

i wish i could give this place more than 5 stars! from the moment we sat down, the service was immaculate! the owner treated us like his personal guests, guided us through their specialities and constantly checked in. the food itself was melt in your mouth delicious and was gone within minutes! all of it was nicely wrapped up with their complimentary qahwa (traditional green tea).

Never again. Cheaters that will take your money in exchange for oily rice with no chicken. Don't believe the positive reviews, they could be lying. And if you don't believe me, go ahead and waste your money on their poor quality food

You would think they're Muslims and would not cheat as they should be honest and fear God, I paid over £12.99 to get chicken briyani, I only got tasteless rice with 3 or 4 very small pieces of chickens. I will never forgive you for cheating and Hasbia Allah Wa Neem Alwakeel on you, may you see the consequences soon.

I usually sit in and eat, everything is amazing. The food, the service. The gentlemen at the reception are always so nice and welcoming. But today, I ordered a pick up. Took the food home and it was amazing as well. Can’t expect any less from this place 10/10. A food joint I recommend to my loved ones but never to my enemies coz they don’t deserve good food.

Nice halal kabuli pilau and chapal kebab

One of the best Afghani food you can ever get in the whole Scotland, especially their 'Mandi'. Really loved the food, their service and the rates are surprisingly so affordable for me being a student. I would recommend for all people especially students from Kerala residing in Scotland. Thankyou so much for serving such delicious food.

Absolutely horrible restaurant service was zero had to tell the waiter 2 times to take the order. Food was zero as well the lamb curry tasted like old oil was used and ordered large rice and got a smaller portion then the original small portion. Don’t wast your time. This was our first restaurant in Glasgow and it was absolutely terrible.

Food was good. But their way of treating was very bad. One of our friends suggested to me the namak mandi and we went all the way to glasgow to experience it. We were with our 3 year old child. So we ask them to sit in a corner of another partition of seating arrangements because it will make us comfortable to feed our child well. The staff told us "you are not supposed to sit over there, sit where we say".and it took half an hour to get our order. while we were having the food a white couple went to the seating where we asked for.so i would say their way of treating the customer up to the race, skin colour and appearance of the customer. We feel very awkward about it. Because we had the experience not from a local person or restaurant, but from the same nationality.

The best Pakistani/Afghan food I’ve had in the longest time! Namak Mandi is the real deal, we ordered their chapli kebab, chicken and lamb charsi karahi and kobeda kebab. The roghni naans were to die for and our guy Umar also served is to perfection. The best!

On 25/ dec/ 2023 at 4.30pm we came here for christmas dinner.. Worst people who are managing here.. Food is not hygiene, we literally got pieces of barcode in the food, when we ask why these pieces in food, they are not taking any responsibility for it! Ignorance! They are not even treating us in respectful way.. stupidly they are reasoning restaurant is busy so it happen.. piece of barcode paper in food ? Is it a reasonable question? Worst experience, nobody is responsible here, they don’t know how to treat customers, if anyone want to be healthy and need some respect and peaceful dining then don’t prefer this restaurant.. Atleast this restaurant would have learnt some lessons about hygiene and the way to treat the customer.

Is very bad restaurant….😡on 25th dec at 17:10 I can to namak mandi with my friends ….😡i ate some food and drink the lassi ….in a lassi i found barcode ….i drink the lassi in my mouth i got a barcode paper …..😡and I showed to the waiter..he took the glass and went to owner😡 …they asked us to come and talk at till …they need to come to table and ask me whether iam okay or not …very bad service no humanity…….i ate half of the paper already ….😡how can they just say that to not to give money for lassiii…….they need to come to me and talk properly like whether iam okay or not ….but I didn’t like the way they talked to me ….its very shame about the manager with red dress with bould head …he said it’s just a piece of paper…..😡I didn’t liked it what he said………that’s not a problem about the bill and all …..they didn’t talk to me properly and no apology for what was happed ….i hate that place and i wont recommend anyone to go there…..🙏🏻worst place in point of service and no humanity…

I visited Namak Mandi on a Sunday night. It was busy but the we were seated very quickly in a nice spot, and the servers were friendly and welcoming. Ordered Afghani pulao with lamb shank, chapli kabab and namkeen handi. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and hot. I would highly recommend the roghni nan which were bejeweled with toasted sesame seeds, probably the best nan I've ever had. Will definitely return. Food was reasonably priced too.

Nice and tasty food with decent price and good service

I went their on someones recommendation and ordered Kabuli Pilau that was fantastic. I went there again the next day during my four days visit in Glasgow and ordered Nehari that was also very tasty.

It was really good atmosphere. Service was top notch, i have to admit it. Even the price seems fair to me if i compare other restaurant near city. I had chicken biriyani, it was good & big portion as well. What I didn’t like is the smell of the biriyani. It was testy though, but I think they could have done better.

Went with a friend as it was recommended to us. We had veg pakora, fish masala, Dahl, and garlic naan. Portions are huge, food was tasty although the Dahl was nothing special, didn't have any stronger flavours, the garlic naan was really nice, soft, and had fresh garlic on it which made it super tasty. For some reason the lentil Dahl was not hot (temperature -wise) but just right to eat which means it got cold quite soon. Waiters were nice and they came round to check all was ok. Tap water had a funny taste for some reason. Nice atmosphere, the traditional seating option looked cool as well, place looks clean, and seen quite a lot of Afghan-looking people (not sure about nationality) but looks like the place is authentic enough for them as well.

Best place to have a family dinner and best tea in Glasgow.

Quality fresh not sure how much “afghani” it was but it tastes really good. Service was faultless and the waiter was very polite. It gets busy very quickly but kept comfortable atmosphere. Portions are really large so make sure you order reasonably (I wasn’t).

Very pleasant and respectable people, from the owners to the staff. Family atmosphere. Great food and good choice. Whether it's something light or if your starving. This place caters for all.

Overpriced compared to the quality

I had Delicious dinner at Namak Mandi . Best Place in the Town for Desi Food. I was Order Chapli Kabab platter, Nihari , and Qabli Palaow. All Items Was Very Tasty And delicious. Service is Very appreciable. And easy to communicate with Staff Because they understand English Hindi and urdu as well.

I had the lamb nihari, the chapli kebab, and roghni naan. Everything was beyond 5 stars. If you're in Scotland and are craving Peshawari food, this is the place. Anas served me and is super friendly. Shahzeb was polite too.

Hands down best namkeen Karhayee in UK! It reminds me eating food in karachi from Queta based Pathan Ka Hotel, it was nostalgic! We were on business trip and ate two dinners back to back. Amazing customer service, clean and friendly. Nadir Ali and company amazing customer service. Chayee was also very authentic ( queta unnabi chayee😃) slow cooked on stove rather machine made so called Karak Chai, best Chatee I would definitely go there again.

Came to Glasgow for a meeting, was looking for a nice desi restaurant and came across this. WOW MashaAllah, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best meals I've ever had, and I'm a foodie. Lamb charsi full of flavour and so soft, fell off the bone. Chapli kebabs again so delicious. If I'm ever here again, I won't need to worry about where I will be eating. Bonus points for having prayer facilities, great staff too. Great value for money

Tried the Nihari and chapli kabab with garlic naan, followed by kheer for dessert. The main course was superb. The desert was alright. No pics of the nihari. We devoured it instantly! The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and the taste was incredible. We had an attentive server. He seemed to be the manager. Would definitely eat here again.

First time in Namak Mandi and certainly won't be the last. On entering was approached by a friendly member of staff and seated immediately. Great choice on menu and never felt rushed to order as we asked about dishes, staff member was very knowledgeable and informative. The food when it arrived looked delicious and upon tasting it was as good as it looked and very generous portions they were. We had the Chapli kebab and veg pakora to start very tasty . Mains were Kabuli pilau and lamb charsi karahi both meals were excellent and full of flavour. Our meals looked so good that we were eating before the thought of photos crossed our minds. However , next visit there will be photos. Being my usual nosey self I was looking at other guests food as it arrived at their table, I was caught looking at the food but they were very gracious in telling us what it was and even offering us to try it, turned out to be one of the owners and his guests 😅. Best meal we have had in a long time and certainly value for money.

Went in the hope of having a nice Asian dinner. Special lamb kadhai was recommended by the waiter. Turned out to be a damp squib. Nothing that I would go again for. Waiters didn’t return to ask if all was good with the food or anything more was required. I had to go thrice to the counter to ask for more naans, water and a soft drink in the middle of my meal. The inner hall is spacious. We were 10 adults and 8 children. The toilet was clean. Management needs to take note and retrain staff in customer care.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in South Side. The food is impeccable and the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. Great selection for vegetarians/vegans too. The staff are very friendly — Omer is a brilliant waiter. Highly recommend!
