Namak Mandi in Glasgow City

Absolute loved the food along with the service and hospitality served at Namak mandi at Glasgow. The food was top notch 👌 and for sure the mango lassi is a must try. Highly recommend this place.😍

The visit to this Mandi place was truly satisfying. A friend recommended it for their Chicken Mandi, and it certainly lived up to the hype. We tried the Chicken Mandi, biryani, and Fish Mandi. While the Chicken Mandi and biryani were absolutely delicious, the Fish Mandi was a bit underwhelming. The flavors were excellent, and the portions were generous, offering great value for money. The staff was polite and professional, which added to the overall good experience.

I tried it after they opened at the new premises. The food in the previous place was okay but the new restaurant looks apart but the food is gone from okay to bad and the prices are gone high sky as if they want to charge for the new place from the customers. I won’t recommend and won’t be going back .

Went here during Ramadhan we left questioning ourselves if we had attended a restaurant or a asian wedding? 😂 seating was absolutely too tight and too close to other people you could barely get out your seat to move without bumping into someone else - a table infront had alot of romantic relationship activities going on which did not go down well for iftar time. Worse part was the staff couldn’t handle such situations and questioned us as to why we are opening our fast later than everyone else 😭😭😭 - it was some expirence but would never return 😞

5 stars all the way !! The staff were amazing so polite and friendly and Anas had welcomed us at the door extremely friendly and was so informative on the menu just like the staff inside. We had the chicken mandi and kobeda kebab and the taste was amazing I loved it all was fresh and extremely satisfying I cannot express how amazing my first experience was will definitely be going back not just because of the food but also because of the extremely friendly staff!!

One of the worst food I’ve in the United Kingdom. I would give zero star but there is no option. Food was disgusting and tasteless.

The best Indian-Pakistani food I’ve had in the UK! Every dish tasted authentic, perfectly capturing how they’re meant to taste—unlike many other South Asian restaurants where the food often feels reheated or lacks depth. The portions were impressively generous, setting this place apart from the norm. The hospitality was exceptional. Mr. Jeffa went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making our visit truly memorable with his kind gestures and engaging conversation. If you get the chance, strike up a chat with him—he has a way of making your experience even more special. I’d gladly return to Glasgow just to dine here again!

Tried the lunch buffet. Food was cold and very limited number of items available. I actually wouldn’t class it as a buffet. If you decide to come to Namak Mandi, avoid the buffet and order from the main menu.

I just had the pleasure of dining at ‘Namak Mandi’ in Glasgow, and it was an experience that left me truly impressed. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and the inviting aromas of authentic, home-style Pakistani cuisine. The cozy atmosphere, combined with attentive service, set the perfect tone for the meal. For starters, the ‘Chapli Kebab’ was nothing short of spectacular. Crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside, with a delicate blend of spices that wasn’t overwhelming but perfectly balanced. The accompanying mint chutney added a refreshing zing, elevating the flavors even further. As the main course, I opted for their signature ‘ Lamb Charsi Karahi’ and it did not disappoint. The lamb was cooked to perfection with good blend of spices. In my previous visits I have also tried Nihari, paye and both dishes are amazing too. The quality of the food at Namak Mandi is truly exceptional, showcasing a mastery of traditional Pakistani flavors with a contemporary touch. Whether you’re a fan of spicy, aromatic dishes or just looking to explore something new, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Worst ever charsi karahi i had in my life . Very expensive with zero taste absolutely waste of money

I had a chance to eat from Nammak Mandi today, as it was week day, they had the Buffet deal and we chose that however the food was not that great, there was no choice of starters for vegetarians. When you say buffet, the customer’s expect food choice for vegetarians also. Apart from that the mains was also not up to the expectation. There was a dish with chicken and potato, the waitress explained that it is chicken curry, however that was neither a curry nor a soup and the Rottis was also not felt like fresh. In short, My friends and myself did not enjoy the new year meal at Namak Mandi.

Worst experience ever,food was not freshly cooked.we ordered masala fish with charsi karhai but after an hour of waiting we got only a tiny dish of something which was cold and already made which they served as a freshly made karhai,taste of it was very bad,meat was hard in it and then told us that fish is out of stock,we can’t serve it.they didn’t serve salad,when we ask for salad and raita they told us,you need to order it separately. When we order it they served not fresh onions with bit of carrots n lettuce which was not fresh as well,we left everything without eating,couldn’t eat that food,i would not recommend this to anyone to waste their money who tasted Shinwari and Abaseen karahis in Manchester✌🏻

This fantastic restaurant is an absolute gem - such a surprise given its unassuming location! The food was scrumptious and the portions huge (we were given boxes to take home a whole second meal for two), and every member of staff was an absolute joy to speak to. Their smiles are genuine, they work so hard and really seem to enjoy being there, amid the beautiful decor, providing outstanding food and enjoying the reactions of diners. We don't live in Glasgow but I imagine we'll be making time to visit Namak Mandi on all future visits! Thank you everyone, and may your business continue to flourish.

Our first time here, we will be back to try more of the wonderful food. The rice is special, delicately flavoured. The lamb shank just fell of the bone and was delicious. The decoration is like walking into a palace, a platter for the eyes. The staff were great, friendly, informative and efficient.

Food was really nice especially lamb namak handi and chapli kebab, staff was really help and customer service is 10/10? Highly recommend.

well it's been my fav restaurant for over 5 years but that's it now all because i think they were able to sort out there tandoor so yesterday i have spent of £50 for 2 small portions through uber eats and my chapli kabab was un cooked also the rogni nan was enough to kill you uncooked melting wheat atta we spend our hard earn money to enjoy food and when things like that happened totally spoils it anyway i tried calling them twice no answer.

Went for lunch buffet and really disappointed with the service and quality of food. Everything was cold and taste less. Wasted my money today, would definitely recommend to avoid disappointment and go somewhere else

I had one of the best meals of my life at Namak Mandi in Glasgow. For me, good food is essential, but ambiance and service also make a huge difference—and this place excelled in all aspects! I rarely give a full 5-star rating, but Namak Mandi deserved it for both food and service. Our server, a kind gentleman named Jaffa, went above and beyond. He not only provided excellent service but also shared the fascinating background of the dishes we ordered. The ambiance was equally impressive, with soft, soothing music played at the perfect volume. It was easy to enjoy our conversation without any noise, and the other diners were equally respectful, adding to the calm, posh vibe. The food? Absolutely outstanding! Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the portions were just right for the price. Compared to London, the prices were very reasonable, making the experience even better. While enjoying the amazing food, I remembered I needed to send money back home. With Remit Choice, I handled it effortlessly on my phone, giving me complete peace of mind while I soaked in the incredible experience at Namak Mandi. Visited for a lunch. Ordered dampukht, mutton namkeen karahi, and chappli kababs. Not sure why they call it dampukht in this restaurant as it was more like middle eastern Mandi or kabsa, as dampukht (also called rosh) that we have back home is totally different and made with different recipe and ingredients. it never has rice. But whatever they call it me and my kids really liked this dish. The portion size and amount of meat was really good. Our other orders of namkeen mutton karahi and chappli kebab were just average, no way near what we have back home in namakmandi Peshawar. Chappli kababs tasted more like corn flour patties than the meat. And namkeen karahi was a normal black pepper mutton curry that we make at homes. The namkeen karahi in Namakmandi Peshawar has different recipe and taste. The service and and ambiance was good.

Buffet food taste and quality was so bad. Chicken was not fully cooked. Even some of the dishes were missing. Very disappointed Namak mandi was our favourite restaurant before but now its quality is zero.

My family and I had an amazing experience in September, by far one of our best meals we have ever had. All dishes were very tasty, elaborate yet not heavy on the stomach. I cannot wait to go back and present the restaurant to more people. The warm atmosphere and all staff also made this experience so pleasant. Last night we visited for dinner from entering the restaurant it was warm welcome by staff and then famalrising with us and giving details about the food served . The person welcoming was amazing and he give various options of food for two of us. When food arrived it was delicious and cooked well. Staff even explained how dish was cooked. There was a big portion of salad which no restaurant gives with food. Overall very delicious food not cooked as curries in asain restaurants. Surly visit again as they do traditional breakfast. As we say the person who has not seen Lahore is not born I would say if you have not visited NAMAK MANDI you missed real taste of food. Thanks for hospitality and delicious food.

Highlight of our trip to Glasgow.

Jaffa is an excellent host. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are huge. Fortunately they give you the option to take home the leftovers. Ambience is lovely and the staff are very kind and friendly. Service is a little slow as food can take a while, however the wait is usually worth it.

This is by far the best Pakistani-Afghani-Indian restaurant in Glasgow and probably in Scotland. We went to have dinner and can’t believe how friendly and hospitable the staff were. The waiting manager came out and shock our hands with a nice and genuine smile on his face and ushered us to a table. The owner humbly took 5 minutes of his precious time explaining the background of the restaurant and was interested in knowing how our experience has been in Namadi. We had Chapli kebab and kabuli pulao which were really tasty and affordable.

Very good food. Kabuli Pulao is a must try item from an extensive menu promising a fantastic culinary experience. A must try place if you are in the area.

I went in for a dinner with my wife and it was one of the worst food we ever had. The karahi we added was so poorly cooked. The ingredients were so poorly cooked it literally caused blisters in mouth. And that Chai . Alas if some chai lover ever had to have that tea. Worst poorly cooked.

Namak Mandi provides the most amazing hospitality experience in Glasgow. The food is excellent and the service is attentive, warm and friendly. We will be back. Thank you Jaffa for a wonderful experience.

I had undoubtedly one of the best meals of my life at Namak Mandi in Glasgow. Apart from food, the ambiance and service also matters to me a lot. I cannot remember giving any restaurant 5 starts on both! Namak Mandi outdone themselves at providing the best and most polite service I have received in years! Our server was a very fine gentleman called Jaffa and he explained in detail the background of the food we ordered! The ambiance is an other 5 starts because the music was very nice and soft and most importantly, at the absolutely right volume. We could actually hear the conversation we were having and other guests were also very considerate to maintain the ambiance posh and quiet. Food was outstanding in taste and portions were just right for the price. Compared to London, the prices were very reasonable. I thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of my time spent at Namak Mandi. Will definitely visit again.

This place serves halal muslim food. Great ambience. The guy running the resturant looks reasonable and welcoming. I was staying near by and ordered the food before arriving to reduce the waiting time. The guy was recommending to order once you reach the resturant in order to avoid food to be cold. Food was really good. Near to authentic taste.

Hello dear customer please don’t go there time and money wasted.

The food was good, but the service was extremely disappointing. We were treated as if we were dining for free, with staff speaking in Hindi—assuming I wouldn’t understand—and laughing among themselves and making comments pointing us which came across as very rude. When we asked if they had garlic mayonnaise, they said yes, but then served us refrigerated, store-bought egg mayonnaise instead. We also had to ask three times just to get a takeaway box for our leftovers. Overall, it was a very poor experience. Having been in Scotland for years, I’ve never felt this level of discrimination in a restaurant before.

Me saying that Namak Mandi was aesthetically fabulous and food was deliciously praiseworthy would be a massive understatement. Interior was peshawari afghani style and very much grand royale. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough. If you ever find yourself in Glasgow and craving for Indian pakistani food, namak mandi is the perfect place to go to. Prices are reasonable, portions are huge and food taste was out of this world. We had charsi chicken karahi with garlic naan, kabuli pulao (lamb) and mandi chicken along with mango lassi. Also got chicken biryani packed to go as we were too full to eat it there. Planning to try chapli kebab next time. Highly recommended must visit place.

And also the services and food selection from Mohammed is 🔥🔥🔥 This guy very valuable person for your business And also the service from jaffa is outstanding. Brilliant food and great staff. Loved every minute of our visit! Jaffa was very kind and knowledgeable. One less star for atmosphere because it was a wee bit chilly. Sure it would be warmer on a weekend with more people inside but everything else perfect 🙂

rudest staff i’ve ever encountered. owner owns a spar around the corner. those staff are the worst. based of the people the owner picks, i can guarantee the food and service is horrible aswell. I would rethink your choices in staff, their attitude stinks. especially the indian man in the shop with the old white man to assist him

The service was incredible, we were so well looked after by Jaffa who was a tremendous host and ambassador for the restaurant. The food was delicious, with generous portions. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough Can’t wait to be back!

Tasteless food kebab had no taste at all we ordered Nan bread and we couldn't differentiate either that were Nan bread or chappati and were completely burnt with zero customer service even didn't respond to the messages.

Update 01/11/2024 First time went to get a takeaway after they shifted to their new premises. This place has become way overpriced. City center prices for renovating a much cheaper rundown premise. For example I remember having their chapali kebab platter for £8 which is now £17. Same goes for their ridiculous prices for their charsi Karahi . I know prices have increased but this is ridiculous. For comparison the chapali kebab and charsi karahi at Original Khyber in Shawlands is near identical in taste and both these places started off with the same prices. Chapali kebab platter (3 kebabs and 2 naans) is £12 at Shawlands and the chicken karahi is £11. And since I have been going to both places since the past 6 years I can safely say both places are near identical in taste. These guys want to quickly recoup the money for shifting to a larger place. A better tasting and cheaper alternative is Charcoals near merchant city who even provide free food to the homeless. Due to the above I simply walked out of the place when placing my takeaway order at their counter!

This place 11/10. I ordered the Lamb Charsi Karahi and the Chapli and it was one of the most tastiest dishes I’ve ever had. The Lamb in the Karahi was nice and tender. The Chapli was so crispy I loved it. Not only the food was the great the service and staff was amazing. Jaffar was phenomenal. He was such a nice guy. Definitely going back and recommend this to all!

Honestly if I could give 10 stars I would. If you are looking for somewhere with quality food and exceptional customer service this place ticks every box. Our waiter Jaffa definitely took our experience to the next level- we went for a family birthday meal and the food did not disappoint- good portion sizes and everything was so fresh.
