Papa's Fish & Chips in East Riding of Yorkshire

Was looking forward to visiting. However ended up a dark corner. The food was great and the service superb.

Great fish and chips, very generous portions at their Willerby Restaurant, this is our favourite for Fish and chips highly recommended.

Great takeaway, very fresh fish and huge portions, tastes amazing, if you like fish and chips you'll love this!

This place is the best for fish and chips in the area! The value for money is unreal to! We have been so many times and never had a bad meal. There's a decent selection and variety on the menu to if you fancy venturing way from the traditional, though quite honestly I dont know why you would! They have great gluten-free and vegetarian options to which absolutely do not sacrifice on the quality. I wouldn't look anywhere else for fish and chips in this area!

We went half an hour before closing on Saturday night. The girl who served us was friendly and polite. Very pleasant. This was our first time having papas fish and chips. We had the combo which is meant to be small chips, small fish and small sausage. They were all huge. Tasted amazing. Light crispy batter and best tasting chips. The mushy peas… a dream. Also had cheesy chips. Tasted like cheese not the plastic other take always serve. Delicious! Absolutely top marks for everything. Clean and tidy restaurant too. We live 3 hrs away so a shame we won’t be back soon otherwise I’d be here every Friday!

The food was good but not exceptional. The usual fish and chip that you find everywhere in the UK. The service was not exceptional. Not recommended.

Atmosphere great, very well looked after. Articulate waiting staff. Attended for a birthday get together. Birthday girl was spoilt with a happy birthday sing along from the staff team, with a complimentary pudding. The food was beautiful, fish very fresh, great sized portions, and a good price. We've just been saying how it is the best fish we've had in a long time. Thank you for having us. We will be back.

When we got here my wife was last to order, it was found they couldn’t do Gluten Free. Unfortunately we were in a group of 8 people five who had already ordered … As the table was previously booked, They could have put a sign at the door informing everyone, to stop embarrassment…………..Not good

Long wait for food although not particularly busy, hot food served on cold plates. Chips not good. Won't be going back. Not happy about paying for extras such as mushy peas, should be included with fish and chips it's a staple.

As always the best fish and chips , i travel 8 miles as no where local is as good. The staff are always friendly and good at their job always fresh served food, Yvonne and scott are always very friendly and welcoming , just hope that it stays as papas and doesnt turn into a wendys

Large party of friends and family descended for an evening meal. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The haddock was perfectly white and flaky, the batter super crispy. The chips were good and not greasy. Portions large and was excellent value for money.

Legit some of the best fish and chips you'll ever eat. Fish and chips is more of a concept in the UK. It's easy to make but it's hard AF to perfect. These guys have perfected it.

Great food, brilliant friendly service and great relaxed atmosphere. Got seated straight away in a nice booth then had great quick service from the waitress (annie). Food didn't take long to arrive and was really nice when it came. Thoroughly enjoyable evening for me and my family

Pre ordered in advance then still had to wait 15mins for the order to be cooked. Can't see the point of ordering only for Papas to get their money up front. Food nice as always but propably won't bother going again as this is the 2nd time for a long wait despite ordering. Thankfully both times we were only waiting with another couple so dread to think of the wait time if it's busy.

We arrived here for dinner and were surprised at how large the portion sizes are. My partner order the plaice and I ordered the scampi, my son had cod and chips. We had sides of peas (had to wait a while for these) and honey battered halloumi which I can’t recommend enough if you are a halloumi lovely it was delicious! The customer service was great. Good value for money.

I had an amazing time at Papa's Fish & Chips in Willerby tonight with a friend. The fish was truly outstanding – crispy, golden batter with flaky, flavorful fish inside. The gravy paired perfectly, adding just the right depth to each bite. The restaurant's design is impressive, with its ship and sea theme creating a unique and inviting atmosphere that made us feel like we were dining by the coast. A special thanks to George, the manager, for his warm hospitality. This place is a gem, and I can't wait to return!

I've given 4 stars overall based on the food alone. It's amazing. Absolutely delicious, plentiful and made up for the rubbish service. I happen to know poor service is unusual for Papa's so it won't put me off.

Called in on a Saturday lunch for the first time and they were some of the best fish and chips, the curry sauce lovely!! Yvonne and Alisha provide an amazing service.

Visited with friends, but have been numerous times. Food very good, though some things a little on the expensive side, as in peas/mushy peas. Would be far better if they were included with your fish & chips. We ordered 3 medium haddocks, and one small. The 3 mediums arrived, and one of them looked more like a large, which was definitely on the plus side, they were all very tasty & plenty of chips to boot. Very happy with our visit.

Went to Papa’s in Willerby and I can only say our experience visiting this restaurant was absolutely fantastic. There were 5 of us in total, and when Annie who was our server for the night noticed one of our party was disabled she was very accommodating and put us in part of the restaurant that was easily accessible for them. Annie was very helpful and courteous. And as for the food the battered fish was absolutely delicious and so crispy. It made us realise that the quality of our local fish and chips shop is well below par.

Staff really lovely. The only atmosphere was the flies buzzing about. Worst fish and chips I've ever had, overpriced for rubbish food. Slow service as they are tending to the takeaway before serving restaurant customers, sat there like an idiot waiting and waiting.

Regularly order take away. Cater for gluton free. We've been twice recently and dined in. Always a pleasure. Good menu

Reasonably priced, good quality food. I opted for the grilled haddock as dietary requirements mean fried food is problematic. I asked if it was possible to have new potatoes instead of chips and this was accommodated. Service was good if a little slow.

Ordered 2 Papas combos and a pie special( I only wanted a pie but they weren't available separately) I ordered a chicken and mushroom pie, it was not what I received. It was chicken and broccoli and wasn't very nice . And for a little under £10 didn't represent very good value compared to the Combos. Disappointed to say the least, won't be ordering the pie again . Whilst I realise it has been very warm, and appreciate the servers get warm I did not appreciate seeing them removing their caps and playing with their hair whilst I was waiting for my order to be prepared. Very poor food hygiene practice.

We arrived as a party of 4 not long before closing but the young girl greeted us with smiles as she took our order and didn't make us feel rushed. The food arrived piping hot and was lovely. 3 of us had haddock and 1 had battered sausages. The place was lovely and clean. Would definitely eat here again.

Nice experience eating fish, chips and peas at one of the many outside tables available close to the takeaway. Also great to have plenty of parking spaces. Good quality, service and value. Will visit again.

Eat here for mother's day, do it was probably busier then normal. All in our party enjoyed food especially the paties. Friendly staff and quick service considering how busy it was.

When to Willerby take away took it home to find chips missing and a pattie missing. Spent £28.42 Rang up spoke to the manager and was told to bring it all back. Didn't have time but she said bring it back @ 10pm (Sunday) checked and found they closed @ 9:00. I went in the next day and was told I was assaulting the manager by asking for her name. She told me I was a liar and only the chips were missing. Emailed them no response. Food is good but never again If you go check your order before you leave. Disgusting behaviour especial by the manager and I have used them regularly since they opened. Not anymore

Really good quality food and great customer service. There’s plenty of spaces to sit so you don’t feel crammed in or overwhelmed. Would definitely recommend.

After being a loyal customer of papas willerby for years i’ve had enough the last restaurant visit it took them from being seated nearly a hour to bring us food and it wasnt busy! Had a take away visit tonight another 45 minute wait , you were good but your loosing your edge wont be bothering again.

My partner and I were thoroughly delighted with our meal at Papas.The fish and chips were first class the Haddock was skinless and the batter was a lovely golden colour and nice and crispy.The restaurant itself had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very polite.There is also plenty of free parking.

Second time I've been, first time we sat in the restaurant which was nice, friendly staff, clean as to be expected. Being a lover of Fish and Chips I did the challenge and got a T-Shirt (not sure if thats still something they do). This time we were passing... well not really but made a detour and just got takeaway. Sat at a bench outside, again the food was as good as the first time making it worth the detour. If in the area again in future I will definitely go again, simple as that.

Visited the Willerby restaurant again recently and yet again our table wasn't fully cleared and we wasn't asked about deserts - whilst my wife tucked in to a Hugh fish platter I myself had only a small fish and chips. The food is nice but the lack of service spoils it.

Really quiet, food was nice ,but the service was a bit hit and miss. Too slow with condiments. Bringing the wrong food to the table . Alittle disorganised.

Good quality fish fillet, so my brother said. I had double jumbo battered sausage and chips, served with oodles of gravy, bread and butter. I had a taste of the fish and it was meaty, plentiful and surrounded by crisp batter. Chips were great quality too. The service was swift and excellent and very attentive. Washed down with a good cup of tea.

The building is not like it looks from the outside, it's bigger, it has an old display of the inside of a chippy, there's a boat too, quite charming. The staff were nice and helpful. The fish and chips was hot and tasty and the peas were nice, but the sauces were blatantly cheap as the ketchup is pink. As you have to buy everything separate it's expensive, and I imagine that stops customers coming back over and over... It was £7 for a child's (4 piece) Scampi and chips and milk as a drink on the children's menu is odd, but I imagine that's so they can upsell the cola. The ice cream is a no no... tasted like cardboard. Nice to try, but if they want repeat customers, they need to have offers, where you can get a meal, sauces, drinks together for one price.

Really good traditional fish and chips at a reasonable price. As with most places I visited in Hull the staff were very friendly and helpful particularly our waitress Annie.

What an incredible place to experience fish & chips, this is definitely not your usual chip shop, the menu is a newspaper, really large selection & several size options available Our server & hostess Elycia was so welcoming found us a table, revisited several times to check on how we were, attentive & helpful as it took us a while to look through the menu. I would recommend booking for larger parties Food was delicious & a really good portion Only downside no mint for the mushy peas. I will definitely revisit this place Large car park

2nd time visiting and we've always enjoyed our meals. Service is absolutely wonderful, especially from Annie she is so helpful and attentive. I am on a mission to finally make room for pudding at some point. Looking forward to our next visit.

As someone who's not usually a huge fish and chips fan, my friend brought me here as a must-go and I was not disappointed Between the great food and our friendly server Maria I have been converted!

They have disabled parking but when you get inside there are stairs everywhere. Stairs to first level of tables. Stairs to toilets. Stairs to get out. It is supposed to be a modern building .why waist all that room to put stairs everywhere. Food was good, they had a new menu and the waitress apologised because she put the wrong item down on our order. It was replaced with the correct item fast.

We didn't get service we had been sat at the table for over 25 minutes they had forgotten about me and my partner absolutely ruined our day my partner said if they can forget about customers we won't go back

The fish and chips are of excellent quality, but two of the best items they sell aren't on the recommended list, namely "patties" and the "curry sauce". I have only eaten from the Willerby branch, and their seems to be lots of Papas Fish & Chips eateries around the country (maybe its a franchise?) but if I'm in the Hull area and in need of a take out, this will be my first choice. Amazing value on the comb meal, although the small bottles of water were expensive.

Delicious food and excellent service. We were brought by regulars who have been coming here for years and waited on by Annie, who took care of us like family.
