Papa John's Pizza in Brighton and Hove

Ordered stuffed crust for delivery. It wasn’t stuffed. Tried calling the number on the website but the number is incorrect. No email. No way to contact. Expensive pizza. Poor quality regardless.

So, after many, many orders from this store, with mixed feelings about service, sometimes good, Sometimes bad I've felt impartial to leave a review. Today is the day to leave a review. I orders via the app which is always great! But I had some special requests which you cannot ask for adjust on the app. I spoke with a chap called Tarin (I hope I've gotten that right) (train spelt differently) who fulfilled my requests And went above and beyond to make my takeaway, even better, thank you so much!

Wish the bulls eye was still a thing, Standard bbq options are lacking

Really delicious today, perfect doughy juicy pizza, nice jalapeño bites and cheese garlic bread and delivered in great time! Been a while since I had a papa johns and it's definitely improved

We use this Pizza hub for our treats on Friday evenings. They always supply what we ordered and in good time.

Always use PJ for pizza, consistent quality and fairly priced

My dip is missing and wrong ice cream was delivered

Pizzas are nice when they don't arrive 15mins late and stoned cold. Useless delivery driver went round in circles for 15mins before dropping off cold pizzas. This is the second time this happened. There won't be a third chance. No customer service either 'complain on the website' was the advice from the shop.

Second time i’ve tried to order in the last month and they don’t have enough drivers and have cancelled my order.

I’ve paid extra to have dairy free options, but didn’t get them. Ordered vegan cheese tots, was sent a small portion of plain one, as they ran out of vegan cheese. Didn’t cancel the order, were just going blag it!! I also ordered the vegan papadias and there must be a quarter of a green pepper and a mushroom thinly sliced on it, and needless to say NO VEGAN CHEESE. It’s a joke!!!

I went there while studying abroad. For lunch, you can eat pizza for 2.5 pounds, so I highly recommend it.

Last order arrived 1hr15 was not impressed, usually have a quick delivery as only 2 roads away from mine. When I tried to call several times there was no answer.

Used these several times and always no problems. However last time there was a mistake with our pizza toppings, causing upset and disappointment for our Son. However, The manager Dora and the shift supervisor Mohamed could not have been nicer. Their customer service is absolutely 💯 outstanding. They offered a brilliant and unexpected resolution for the mistake and have proven to me that genuine great customer service still exists and that it isn't always just about profit. They have confirmed us as permanent customers with their customer service. All in all good pizzas and sides, reasonably priced. Thank you

Food took 2 hours to Arrive. Tried calling the shop 10 times during the wait, with no answer. I ended up calling a different branch to check if portade was open. They confirmed it was however they had run out of dough. Poor customer service, if theres a problem you should let your customers know, rather than ignore the phone. When I eventually got through to Portslade on the phone they tried to say other reasons as to why it was taking so long. No excuse for the lack of communication.

Alfie made my pizza and it was incredible give him a raise pls. One of the best pizzas I've had in my entire life. If I had a time machine and could go back to any point in time I would go back to here so I can experience the extreme euphoria from such an incredible pizza. God from the bible said "anything is possible with god", but I still do not believe the omnipotence and omniscience of God could create such a divine pizza. The mere existence of such a pizza points to the future success of the human race and puts to shame all the pessimists spreading nihilism and proclaiming the downfall of the world and that getting worse, ie i miss 2019. This singular pizza was the sole reason i turned my life around and my decision to come here and Alfies decision to create such an incredible pizza took me from a person who was starving and homeless into one of the richest men in the world in a matter of minutes. 11/10.

Made poor delivery driver wait over 40 minutes then lied and told driver I cancelled the order but changed that story when driver rang me to confirm. Pizza was not large, and all the wrong dips were sent. Shameful.

Pizzas are tasty but are 25-35% higher than the competition.

It was just quite greasy and heavy. Garlic sauce was lovely though. We left quite a bit. Very expensive as well! £23 got a not so great pizza!

Pizzas took approx 2 hours to arrive (after 2 calls to chase). Pizzas had been kept warm for 1.5 hours approx so turned up dry and sub par. Lack of apology. Told we couldn’t get a refund because the delay was caused by 3rd party delivery company Papa John’s use (we’d ordered direct on PJ website). Initial struggle to get anyone to pick up phone in the first place. Possibly one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had with a takeaway establishment.

Freshly prepared pizza base, fantastic and fresh ingredients with amazing flavours. Can't get enough of their bbq side dips either. Staff are always very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend highly

Disappointing service. I ordered bbq dip as that was the thing I was looking forward to putting on my pizza the most. They forgot it, we asked if they could bring it over as we had paid for it, but they said they had nobody to deliver that to us (even though it was about 3pm on a Wednesday and we are only a few miles down the road), and they sounded pretty fed up and inconvenienced. Instead, they offered to fix the issue by adding a “free” dip on our NEXT order. Except it’s not free when we’ve already paid and don’t want to spend lots of money on more pizzas just to get what we already ordered before. Halfway through my pizza, I also realised that they got the wrong base we ordered for both our pizzas too. Won’t be ordering from here again and don’t feel like a valued customer and was made to feel silly for asking for missed items to be compensated.

My bbq pizza had no bbq sauce on it. Bit ridiculous since it’s the best bit about it

Arrived 5-10 mins before they officially closed only to be told they aren't serving. If you're going to close early, close your doors and amend your timings on Google. Took a taxi all the way especially. Annoyed to say the least

When I'm going to eat pizza, I always get it from here. very good pizza, garlic sauce is also very good, spicy jalapone cheese snack is also very good,I recommend it

Awful dry pizza and took an hour to arrive. For this price I'd expect far more. Vegan sausage was genuinely vile too. Last time I order Papa John's.

Ordered and paid online. 2 hours have past, still says making pizza on tracking. Phoned a few times and not answering phone either. Strange as used in the past with no problems.

Cold, burnt and dry. Standards have steadily slipped at this branch to what is now an all time low. Go elsewhere.

I have waited over 2 hours for a cold Pizza. Two hungry kids have had their Friday night ruined. Please , if you cannot fulfil the order., do not take peoples money !!!

Messed up our order. Phoned up after over an hour had passed and the staff said that they had forgotten about our order and will send it out in half an hour. It was already late so I cancelled the order. Said that we will not get a refund for 3-5 working days even though it was the shop staff error. Won’t be ordering from Papa Johns again.

After trying this place several times over the last year it’s a rubbish service - collectively no common sense, terrible understanding of English, don’t think they realise they are in the pizza business. Should be dis-franchised.

Pizzas promised to arrive in 20 mins (we were located round the corner) they arrived over an hour later and cold. Promised a refund, but am still chasing the refund. Garlic sauce is not garlic sauce - it is butter at best!

Ordered two pizza's at 12:15 and its 13:37 and still no pizza's. Called store and no one answered. Called 4 more times still nothing. Making complaint, demanding a refund, and never order from this store. Avoid

Took too long, was cold and Mexican pizza had virtually no meat on it, like 3 pieces of mince meat at most. Do yourself a favour and get a pizza up Asda or Tesco for £3.99, instead of £18.99

Really good vegan range and was ready to collect so fast! Food was tasty and at 50% off vegan range this month, can't go wrong.

This site has really dropped in standard. We have used this site for years although recently had issues on most delivery's. Waited an hour, missing 1 pizza, no problem mistakes happen. Driver was going back to collect, after a further 40 minutes I decided to call. The service was really not great the lady I was speaking to passed the phone to who I assume was the manager there was no form of apology just said he will refund it. I assume either management or franchise has changed. Shame because used to be very good, unfortunately now its a little brand damaging

We have used this site consistently over the last 4 years and all was good we kept coming back,although over the last couple of months service is terrible wait times long and quality has dropped. 3rd time of not being great waited an hour missed 1 pizza off order which took a further 40 minutes to arrive, pizza was freezing. No apology from the site. I have a feeling either site management or franchise owner has changed. Mistakes happen the issues are more how they are resolved.

I ordered my food and the wait was already very long which I wasn’t aware of. Then when some of it eventually arrived they had forgotten a whole pizza and drink. Got told they could deliver it in 2 hours! No dinner for me

Delivery driver took my GFs mobile numbers and turned up outside the flat the next evening. We had to phone police. Driver got a harassment warning !! Papa Johns and their 'customer excellence manager' Claire Fisher refused to deal with the issue and still do. Tasting insult to injury the customer services e Mail from Epoch does not work !

We ordered from PJ mainly because of the special edition dip for October. Unfortunately our order arrived without it, so I called the store who were really nice and sent someone to us to deliver it. It would have been so much easier for them to just refund us but I appreciated the effort, and my god is the dip worth it. Aside from this, the food was brilliant. I really felt the pizzas had been made by someone who cared, which is often not the case with a takeaway. Decent amount of toppings, well distributed - well done Portslade!

I always like Papa John's Pizza however this time i was disappointed, it took almost an hour to get here and pizzas were cold.

First to say we had great pizzas delivered and the Hove staff were excellent in sorting out my initial problem and instantly returned additional money charged from a website error/glitch When ordering online I put in the correct discount code but on payment on the card it had lost the discount code and basically charged me double . I phoned the store who cancelled the order immediately and I re - ordered this time all went through correctly. The pizzas were great and well done to the Hove staff for sorting this and for your personal customer service. However, when I checked with my credit card provider they stated that Papa Johns UK are on their to watch type list - as this happens frequently and I should report it to the Papa John head office. After finally contacting them they simply do not acknowledge / fail to grasp this has happened and its like hitting my head up against a brick wall - Very very poor head office - Very very good Hove store i will be back as soon as i do not have to use that website

ordered from this papa john's a while back, found hairs in both portions of our vegan potato tots, when ringing to complain it was suggested that they "must've been our hairs" as the man working was bald!! we argued this and they agreed to help us if we emailed a photo, we sent said photo to the given email address multiple times and found it did not exist. we phoned again and were spoken to rather rudely and as of now the issue has not been resolved in the slightest. Very disappointing - will not be ordering from here again and would recommend others to go elsewhere!

Took advantage of papa's buy one get one free pizzas. Walked into the shop (portslade store) and didn't have to wait long for my order. Added bonus of being able to see my pizzas being made through a window. Their cinnamon scrolls were a party in my mouth!! Hot scrolls drizzled with cinnamon icing = amazing!!

Had to wait for 15 minutes in the store for pizza to be ready, despite having already waited/driven to collect the pizza. No apology for the wait or anything. Wasnt very impressed. Pizza was decent though.

Papa John's in boundary road portslade .. is a high quality pizzeria takeaway for a price everyone can afford .. it's highly recommended ..

This place has really gone downhill over the past year or so. Delivery is really slow, taking nearly an hour to arrive, although I have had to call them more than once after waiting 1 1/2 hours when they’ve clearly forgotten the order. Pizza is usually lukewarm at best by the time it turns up, & looks like it’s been thrown together. The last order I made took just over an hour to arrive, I got a perfunctory apology from the driver & on opening the box the pizza looked like it had been drop kicked. Couldn’t be bothered to complain & wait another hour as was so hungry by then. Never again!

Delivery guy extremely sleazy. Kissed my partners hand and wouldn’t let go. Started phoning her mobile the next night had to ring police.

Waited over an hour for a cold pizza which was given back to the delivery person. I requested a paypal refund from the shop but 5 weeks & 5 phone calls later, I was still waiting. Agreed to accept another pizza instead of the refund. Was told 45 mins for delivery but when it came 1hr + 15 mins later, it was completely cold (again!). The sides that I paid for were also cold and the dip was missing. We really like Papa Johns but won't order from this shop again.

Papa Johns is one of my favourite pizza places. Their pizza is made with perfection if I didn’t know it’s made fresh every time I would have said they copy and paste it 🤣 evening the toppings are laid exactly the same way every time! Thank you Papa for filling my stomach every time ♥️

The worst customer service ever seen I ordered pizza to collect they told me 30 minutes that’s fine I went there after 30 minutes the blonde girl was by the counter I told her I come to collect my pizza I ordered over the phone she just took the money and told me wait I was waiting about 30 minutes there she just ignored me completely I told her I’m waiting for my pizza pizza was ready but she wanted me to keep waiting I told her you can see me I was in front off you waiting and pizza it’s ready you should just give it to me she just give me the pizza like I was wild animal very rude whatever manager off chain se this please take action this not fear no person ever been so rude in customer service in my life pizza in papa Jon’s are very nice this happened to boundary road Portslade

Wouldn't order from them, phoned them after it was 40 minutes past the delivery time to be told it was going to be another 40 minutes. Phoned up an hour later to only be told it was cancelled without telling me. Waste of two hours and wouldn't bother ordering from them

Ordered pizza on just eat app it was over 30mins late so called and told they had only just received order! They said they would give us a free coke, order arrived no coke, pizza cold and hard and when phoned got told I could have £2.50 off next purchase. NO THANKS.

Very poor service, wrong order twice, Delivery’s are slow and food ends up cold. Staff are rude and don’t except complaints. To the point if you make a order! They speak good English! Make a complaint They don’t understand. This is a franchise pizza delivery takeaway. But I’ll never order from them again.

Came here tonight ordered a ‘the works’ and a double pepperoni with olives and pork. Sadly the pepperoni order was mixed up and I received the wrong pizza. The team was very helpful and quickly started on the redo and offered a free garlic pizza, mistakes always happen we are human, thank you so much. Waited over an hour for my delivery and then when I received my food it was cold, I had to them heat it up by putting it in the oven, so I contacted the store and all they said was we will give you a free pizza on your next order. This is not acceptable. I will NOT Be ordering again due the awful customer service I received!

Ordered a pizza garlic bread and wedges. Took over an hour and when it did come, it was cold. So I've had to cook it again. What's the point of a takeaway if I end up cooking it myself again. Lady on the phone wasn't helpful either. Just said I could have a free pizza next time. There won't be a next time.

I dont usually like to complain as a rule but I walked out after receiving some of the worst customer service I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I would never again spend my money with this company.

Today we have ordered a pizza for home delivery. We were really waiting for long. Driver has marked pizza as delivered however we were still waiting for 10 minutes. Pizza was not hot, just warm. The most dissatisfied thing was a blond hair found melted in the cheese. Really disappointed.

So placed an order before the closing time. Recieved the regular confirmation notice an didn't think anything of it. 40 mins passed and failed to see any kind of update online. So I rang the store and immediately got an explanation from a member of staff saying that there was a problem with the system and that they couldn't process our order yet they seemed to be aware of the order? So I got the standard apology and a free pizza bit what was I supposed to do about feeding my pregnant wife? No phone call to explain the situation or an email or any other form of communication that we couldn't order. So when I asked if we could get an order I was told it was too late because you were closed. Quite frankly this is bad.

Pizza from Papa Johns is consistently good. This week however we only ordered one pizza (the Greek) & 2 sides - chicken poppers & cheesy jalapeño bites.Pizza was lovely but the portion of jalapeños was dismal. Tasted great, just didn’t get many of them & they didn’t look all that appetising.Still the best take out pizza though - in terms of size, value for money & quality.

Every time I order pizza here, I always get my money's worth because the pizza is quality, the right portion size, fantastic sides and arrives quite quickly. Would definitely recommend over Domino's any day!

Never one to complain but these guys have taken the biscuit and people should be aware of their lack of customer care. Ordered 2 large pizza's and both were extremely stingy with all toppings and hardly any cheese just tomato sauce was the only thing they put on the pizza properly. Probably had 4 chilis on my pizza and 6 pieces of pepperoni on the entire pizza. This easily could have been rectified if they answered my first complaint. My complaint was fully ignore and they continue to send me marketing when I chose to opt out and also asked in my previous complaint to be removed from all marketing. I have had good experiences at other branches before but I won't be stung twice and for them to ignore a complaint is illegal and shows they don't care for their customers. If you want service I suggest Pizza Hot 4 You that is across the road from this location or Pizza Hut or Domino's that are also on the same road as Papa Johns. Avoid this location like the plague. I will never be ordering from any Papa Johns again.

Pizza's are great value and really tasty. Speedy delivery or available pretty quickly if you order in. Pretty much what you would expect from a takeaway pizza place really. Easy to get parked outside as well and there's a newsagent next door for drinks / other snacks too!

one star is to much.Very nasty food ,turns up cold, fake dough,fake cheese, very sweet tomato topping full of sugar. Very poor bad costumer service. We had a dishonest delivery driver. Will never use again.
