papa johns pizza is our favourite in Ilkeston, pizzas have loads of flavours, service is great, if they haven’t got something they have phoned and have other options with extra sent on delivery. We’ve never had anything we haven’t liked yet and love the garlic & herbs sauce 😋. All the meats & Mexican pizza 🍕 Overall great food & services

Everything was nice and hot, delivered on time and the lady who delivered them was so lovely

I've been prone to a visit on time to time. Some ingredients dont taste as fresh as you'd like, and they really need to work on some decent dips. It's a standard pizza to me, but the family likes it.

The driver was really friendly. The food was excellent. Always a pleasure when ordering.

First and last time ordering from Papa Johns.Only gave one star as none isn't an option. Waited an hour for cold pizza, vile chewy crusts. Never again.

Food delivered quickly so still hot. Ordered The Works Pizza which was the tastiest I have had for some time

We're usually really pleased with the service and food from Ilkeston papa John's, but last night we had such a poor experience. Ordered 2 xxl pizzas and used reward points to get a free side. An hour and a half later and 2 hungry kids who were ready to go to bed, and there was no sign of the pizza. Called them, only to be told that the order hadn't gone through, even though they told me the address when I gave them my name. Was advised to re-order and that the initial order would be cancelled (even though they said that they hadn't received it?) And that a refund would be received within 5 days. Reordered online, paid another £35 but couldn't get the free side as the reward points had already been used on the initial order. Pizza delivered.....received 2 large pizzas, not xxl. So £70 spent (albeit half SHOULD be refunded soon), 2 hours later and still haven't received what we actually paid for. Really disappointed and it's put me off ordering again.

If you want to wait for 98 minutes for your pizza and enjoy it cold then this is the place for you 🤬it’s not good for us we don’t like cold food. I could have made it from scratch quicker and it would have been warm and edible unlike what we received NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! BE WARNED

Although described here as a "restaurant", it's a takeaway ! If you're looking for a restaurant, go elsewhere. Collected from store because hungry. Nice Pizza. Thin crust variant perhaps better than filled. Not especially cheap, but I keep going back, so they must be doing something right.

Always a treat to go to "our" Papa John's. They arent the closest but they are the best imo. All the staff are great but I usually have the pleasure of being served by Alex and she is always bright & friendly. It tastes just like the Papa Johns I left behind in the USA.

I walked a mile and a half to the store only to be told I had to order online once I got there but I told her “I don’t like electrickery so I don’t own a smart phone”, she laughed and replied “well stop living in the Stone Age old man” Honestly Johns, I don’t know how a regular patron could be spoken to like that. She inferred I was a Luddite who’s stuck in his ways and another female customer next to me raised her eyebrows as if to say she were in agreement with the cashier! It hurts to recall… emotionally I mean. The pizza was a sturdy 6/10. It tasted how you’d imagine a cartoon-sketched pizza would taste like. Garlic sauce was an irradiated toxic yellow colour whilst having the texture of ajax bleach and looked unfit for human consumption.

I don't know I've never been in papa John's pizza. !!

The staff here are lovely, we have never had a bad pizza from here. Parking can sometimes be difficult because of the queues for the McDonald's drive thru which shares its car park. We usually order vegan options and on the odd occasion where we select the non vegan options of sides by mistake the staff here will ring up to check our order is correct, which we have always thanked them for greatly, as many other places would think that it was not important.

So our order has just been delivered I have ordered the Mexican, in total I have 12 small pieces of beef on my medium pizza, but have 12 pieces of chilli on one slice, won’t be going there again go to Morrisons and make your own.

I have been to this takeaway a few times now and on every occasion the staff have always been helpful and polite. The food is good value for money when the deals are on and pretty consistent. I went last night and had to ask the staff's name because she was chasing my order and getting the door which I've never had at a takeaway, Thanks Alex. It's true what people say, your business is only as good as your staff.

Pizza was perfect, staff polite and was ready before expected! I think you could do with a heating station to keep food warm until picked up and also an email when the food is ready wouldn't go a miss.

found a bug when it was delivered so i gave the food back to the driver, when i phoned up for a refund they refused i now have to contact my credit card company for this refund.

All of the food was cold, tasteless and bland. The potato tots were underdone, the garlic sticks did not taste of garlic at all and we did not get an extra dip that we ordered. The delivery driver was nice and friendly though! This is the first and last time that we will eat from here, incredibly poor quality for the price.

Would have happily have them 0 stars. 1 pizza ordered for delivery local... 1hr 15 minutes later after the app states its delivered i ring to find out it hasnt even left yet. Disgusting service

Absolutely not worth the time. Food was cold and took loads of time to arrive at my house. And the price!!! Not worth the hassle, much prefer dominos.

Excellent food, personally think it better than Dominos and Pizza Hut. All takeaways have rude drivers or mess an order up now and again but Papa Johns food is delicious

Ordered two pizzas tonight and after waiting over an hour they delivered an absolute mess. The delivery person came with carrying them under his arm likke he didn't give a monkeys. Don't waste you're time or money ordering from these. There are better places out there.

First time ordering from papa John’s, wow just wow. Had 2x 12 inch ( bbq chicken with extra jalapeños) and half pepperoni and Hawaiian. sides of little tats and cauliflower, will never order from elsewhere. All for less than £30. Fast delivery and hot food.

Have ordered from another one before and it was really nice but ordered from here tonight and it really was not worth £29.98....brownies didnt taste that nice they went wierd and hard after a few mins of the box being open, the pizzas were dry and chewy , i dont rate the marmite bites but the chicken was nice, wont be ordering from here ever again sticking to dominoes😍

I can’t recommend them enough after I messed up on my order pressing collection instead of delivery they were so good at sending it out for us anyway which they didn’t have to do thank you.

Took longer than usual to arrive - would be useful for the restaurant to give an estimated delivery time when ordering. Pizza arrived and box had obviously been on its side as when opened the pizza was crumpled up and not at all attractive. Had ordered half and half, but it had been cut poorly so some slices had both toppings. Aluminium foil bits were in the crust, which was unpleasant.

Love the pizza but can take awhile for delivery when busy

It's a shame as I muh prefer papa John's pizza itself (and the dip😍) but it's a bit much when twice they dont bother putting bbq sauce on a bbq chicken pizza! It's such a basic thing and they cant even do it. Didnt have any problems for ages and now every time I order theres a problem, but an annoyingly small problem like no bbq sauce, no dips, a missing topping, stuff that should be so simple to get right in the first place. Going to be avoiding for a while and giving my money to Dominoes from now in.

To be honest I think the pizzas themselves are nicer than dominos and pizza hut but it did take nearly 2 hour to deliver, would order again though.

2 stars because everything we ordered turned up and was hot. Chewy, doughy pizza with barely any flavour. Garlic sauce is disgusting, not even in the same league as dominos garlic and herb. Ordered a stuffed crust and just tasted like a thicker doughy crust without cheese. Ordered a garlic and cheese pizza bread. Was so chewy I gave up after 2 slices which didn't taste of garlic at all. Basically raw cheese on toast. Cheesy jalapeno bites were ok I guess. I usually order from dominos but so many people at work recommended papa John's I thought I'd try it. Biggest regret and waste of money ever. Stick to dominos. The pizza is nicer at dominos, the stuffed crust is way better, the garlic pizza bread isn't even comparable. Will never be ordering from papa John's again i can tell ya that. Especially not for the price.

Fantastic staff my pregnant girlfriend went in to order some garlic knots without the garlic and they couldn't of been more helpful!! Said no problem and told her to go sit back in the car and they would bring it out to her!! What fantastic staff you don't get that just anywhere I had to put 5 star as it didn't go higher thank you guys and girls :)

Poor quality Pizza. Not as quality as I expected from Papa Johns pizza. I experienced much better quality pizza from other branches like a branch in Queens Rd E, Beeston.

Nice fresh pizza made for us they are friendly and on time would definitely order from here again.

Made in 10mins. Lovely and crisp. Fantastic pizza and service...Bye bye domino. Subsequent orders have varied considerably. Lovely and crisp is now more like burnt to a crisp...hey ho it's back to domino.

Staff are nice and food is good

We tried them for the first time a short while back and found service was ok but not fabulous, prices expensive unless you have a voucher and the pizza was mediocre at best, tried once, but most likely never a second time. Place was nice and well presented, easy to access and plenty of parking.

Pizza good delivery decent can't complain is what it is. That first comment is super false I've eaten from here a few times and will eat again, I did read and understand the womans harm and distress from not having a lovely papa jon's pizza to dig into on a wonderful new years day. Then I came to the conclusion that she was talking about new years day a day in which some people if possible will eat with family around a table or something. So with all that being said and reading the mysterious Jack the lad dudes comment, anyone using a delivery service on new years day to feed a family probably shops at primark and complains when the fries aren't full at Mcdonalds leave them alone and they leave you alone. But yea foods peng innit proppa cheesy ting going on with chips n stuff.

It's a great place with nice staff but it's so bloody expensive just for a pizza.

Ordered and paid for food at 5.30pm New Years Day. Had to phone to find out where food was at 6.30pm, to be told they had tried to deliver albeit to a wrong address. They even said the delivery driver tried to phone me, I received no missed calls. They apologised and said your order would be with you in 20 minutes and the same delivery drive who said he came before would show me the phone number he contacted. On taking the food inside and closer inspection it was the food that had been prepared earlier , reheated and sent back to us. This was evidenced by the dry toppings and really crusty pizza. The boxes also had the incorrect delivery address on. Not happy , food went straight in the bin as is was inedible! WON'T EVER USE THEM AGAIN.

I won't reveal my true name as I am an undercover CIA agent. The pizza from Papa John's was to the highest quality, red hot and delivered within 30 minutes. The delivery person was very polite and attentive to my needs. I will be 100% using Papa John's again. Good day.

Came on time but was very dry and wasn't fresh I'm not happy with the pizza Service was good nice enough chap I've had better pizza from papa johns Bulwell Nottingham It's a real shame as when I saw their was a papa john opening in Ilkeston I thought "wow "this is great" Looks like I'm going back to dominos 😩

ordered online order took 2 hours, sent it back with the driver as ordered somewhere else within the ridiculous 2 hour waiting time, paid with paypal still waiting on refund, ilkeston store seem to have a problem picking the phone up, emailed papa johns customer service online who are looking into it. never again will i order from this place.

Don't know what pizza is like but waited an hour and half for delivery only to be told it would be another 45 mins to an hour. Just cancelled and asked for a refund as kids were going to bed. Still waiting on refund ... >:|

Honesty 2 hours and 50 minutes and our order no where to be seen. And upon 3rd call put down the phone When finally getting through said our order has been cancelled although not by us and said a full refund would be sent via PayPal. We explained we haven't cancelled it after awaiting nearly 3 hours for an order we want it sending or we was going in shop for full refund in cash. After that they said our order will be with us in 35 minutes max ridiculous and shocking service...
