Papa John's Pizza in South Staffordshire

I'm choosy about my take-aways, so when I find one that I like I stick to it... and Papa Johns in Codsall does excellent pizzas. I usually collect within 10 minutes of ordering online (via the website because the app is awful) and at most I only have to wait a minute or two for them to come out of the oven. The staff are pleasant and efficient (especially Baaz) and the establishment seems clean and tidy. If I was to offer one minor gripe it's that occasionally the slices aren't cut right through, which is niggling but not a deal-breaker.

Had an amazing experience at this place, tried chicken Pizza on their recommendation and it was really tasty. Service is great. Friendly staff

Terrific service. Several vegan and gluten-free options so everyone in our group had choices. Staff took extra care around my allergy, particularly since the menu had changed slightly since I last ordered. On arrival to collect, staff acknowledged us right away and were all smiling and helpful. Can’t fault anything at all.

Pizza arrives frequently with open seal. Missing items/toppings. Lack of cheese/sauce. Please get new management at this branch Edit - significantly improved

Great value if you check out the Collection Offers. Usually a quick option for in the week when cant be bothered to cook, fast typically ready for collection within 15 minutes, always hot and can't fault for the price. Friendly team.

Driver got lost, had to send my son onto the estate to find him. Food cold when arrived.

We are local residents that use the Codsall store several times a week and you cannot beat the service, quality and price. In addition to a great range of pizzas and sides, can especially recommend the chocolate brownie and giant cookie for a treat. Nothing is too much trouble including catering for special dietary requirements due to ARFID. There are also some great offers to be had and don't forget to register for rewards, they soon build to get a free pizza, side or dessert. Cannot recommend highly enough, the staff are great and you get service with a smile. For Pizzas and more in Codsall and surrounds, make this your first choice.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at papa Johns and I cannot say enough about the outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring we had a fantastic meal. The highlight, of course, was the pizza. The variety and freshness of the toppings were beyond compare. Each bite was bursting with flavor, from the savory pepperoni to the fresh vegetables and gooey cheese. It's clear they use top-notch ingredients and take pride in their food. Overall, papa johns has set a new standard for me in both customer service and pizza quality. I will definitely be returning soon!

Very tasty food good environment Codsall store is far from my base but always order from this franchise cuz all staff very polite and very helpful we proud to having this shop in area. Everyone must try food from hear.

It’s gone downhill. They used to be really good (0 complaints and always reliable) but in the last year there’s always bits missing from our orders. On one of these occasions I ran out to the driver to ask about it - he saw me, got in his car and sped off. Have called a few times to ask where missing bits were and have been promised a re-delivery but they never turn up. Extra dips (that have been paid for) NEVER come with the order anymore either. Do not bother ordering these at all. Luckily got CCTV so will be reporting. **food poisoning twice from here, gave them the benefit of the doubt but alas, I was sick AGAIN **

Very late, says it has been delivered when it clearly hasn’t and then met by rude staff who think it’s acceptable to hang up on the customer on the phone. Overall a bad experience with papa john’s

There’s no PJ’s near me so always order when visiting my Brother & food always 5*. Nothing to complain about.

Good was on time. Didn’t treat great, somewhat flavourless. The pizza wasn’t even cut into pieces (I have a photo of this). Quite disappointing

Half cold, wet and slimy, paid to have an extra topping and there's barely any on it, hardly any cheese(?) and it took ages to come. £32 down the drain, I won't be ordering from here again.

Had an order from here and decided to try the tandoori potato tots, two of us ordered some and as seen in photos they are completely different, contacted them and they said it wasn’t possible because they were cooked at the same time. The pizzas were quite nice but the poor customer support experience ruined the image of this store

First Time ordering from papa John's read the initial review and feared the worst but I was so wrong! the delivery was quick, food was hot and fresh, and cooked to perfection came with exactly what we ordered nothing missing absolutely fantastic 10/10 guys our new regular Friday pizza spot!

Absolutely terrible service. Over an hour late, told over the phone 5 mins away, 15 mins later told the driver is 1 min away 10 mins later told the driver is 3 mins away. Absolutely zero transparency and the pizza ended up being rubbish

This was my 1st and my last visit to Papa Johns! As for the customer experience...there isn't any! The staff can't speak, can't look at you, can't... well create an experience. Staff coughing over food, poor hygiene control and poor manners. People waiting for food for ages, and even they saw their names on the boxes kept under a hot lamp until a member of staff decided they would now give the food out! Let's talk about the pizza, it is nice, with the hope no one coughed over it, but where in earth is the topping!!! Are you for real with the portion control?! Everyone might as well just have a margarita! So as I said, never again, I expected better. And the staff member with a cough, cover your mouth or wear a mask and don't cough over food!

The chicken was cold and the pizza was cold/hard. Not impressed one bit.

Having read some of the reviews, I think some are a bit unfair. Who expects pizza to be delivered at the exact time they say? It's a logistical nightmare and if it's 20 minutes "late" so what? They aren't just bringing your order! Delivery drivers always friendly, food always hot and well balanced. No complaints, and we have been using for a while. Try tipping the driver who is doing a difficult job and think of him as a human being!

£26 is Really expensive for a 12” standard pizza 😡

Last year , we moved our Pizza purchasing from Domino's at Tettenhall to Papa John's in Codsall - their advertising of ' better ingredients , better pizzas ' appealed to us , and initially we were moderately pleased with our move . My wife and I might buy a large pizza every month or so as a treat , but over the last 2-3 orders we have noticed a massive decline in quality , and the perceived value-for-money is now very poor . The main complaint is the minimal amount of toppings - last night our 'Sausage and Pepperoni ' pizza had one small ball / crumb of sausage meat , and no more than 2 slivers of Pepperoni per slice . Surely a major chain like Papa John's set exacting dish specifications for every product so that their staff know what is expected of them , and their customers receive consistently high standards . Currently it looks as if the Codsall customers are being fleeced at the expense of the Papa John's reputation .

Extremely horrific customer service, they made an error with our order and flat out refused to do anything about it and hung up the phone on us when we where trying to complain

Manager and staff are liars. They're rude..won't give you names. Put the phone down on you and they most definitely WONT give you any refunds. AVOID THIS BUSINESS OF BAD PEOPLE

10/10 wings, fast and hot food

Ordered to RAF quatres, completely forgetting the roads were closed surrounding due to the Airshow. Shop rang me almost immediately. Offered to refund the delivery fee if I could collect; which I couldn’t. The very helpful lady on the phone sent her delivery driver to the M&S garage over the road & I collected from there. Really helpful staff. Food was piping hot & was delicious. First time ordering here. Will definately order again.

Useless staff, order took 1hr 20m to get to us. When calling to find out where it was at 1hr I was greeted bluntly with sorry busy will be there in a couple mins. 20 minutes later it arrived (small order) and near enough cold. Called to ask for a replacement order that's actually hot, got the phone put down on me. Sort your franchises out papa John's

If I could give 0 stars I would. Order from them last night all food come burnt no meat on the pizza or flatbread phoned up as I order regular from them never had bad food. Always come fast and really tasty well I phoned up and spoken to the new manager nara I believe her name is the delivery driver come and collect the food want I couldn't even chew. She's telling me that these nothing wrong with the food and she done it herself. Very poor management and taking it further to popajohns. Because today I had 3 miss calls today after I asked for my refund yesterday. Really not happy with this service

Today I had the worse food ever now I order from this place all the time. I phoned up rather than complaining on here to see what they can do to fix the problem food had no toppers or cheese for that matter it was burnt and couldn't even chew it and the women nara the manager she spoke to Me in such a poor manner she should not be manager arguing telling Me she done my food and these nothing wrong with it like I said before I order from here on a weekly. Had a delivery for my son’s birthday party, it was bang on time, delivered by a friendly driver, and all the food was perfect, brilliant job!!

Orderd last night nobody turned up was within opening times and took my money never had a problem before please beware will be asking for a refund 😒

The Philly cheesesteak pizza had about 3 tiny pieces of steak on it! That definitely can’t be called a Philly cheesesteak. But everything else was ok.

Ordered almost £50 worth of food whilst on a residential with other teachers. Food did not arrive. Called the shop, they had bad communication skills and awful service. They decided to ask another branch to deliver our food because they thought that branch was closer to us (it wasn't, we checked on google maps). Made up a tale about delivery driver not being able to reach our address (Laches wood outdoor education centre) even though it's such an easy route to and from papa johns. Kept making excuses over the phone, didn't offer a solution. We asked for food to be delivered regardless as we were hungry but no one arrived still. After being told the shop is closing at 10pm, we found out we can't get a refund because Papa johns claimed to have delivered at 11pm, an hr after closing time. Do not recommend to anyone. Will not be ordering again from any branch. Robbed of almost £50.

Had to spend 15 mins chasing the restaurant and then instructing the driver turn by turn to get to our house. Would have been easier to cook.

Cold , dry and hardly any topping. Tasted like dry bread and tomato sauce - disappointing as we prefer papa johns over any other pizza place normally 🙁

Thought give these another try. Rang in to ask what the collection deals were, was told a large is £9.99 I said is that your best deal he said yes. Got there and on the window of the shop there is a deal for 2 topping large pizza for £7.99 I said why didn’t you tell me that deal when I rang? He said I’m on my own & first day. Blatantly wasn’t, not even an apology. Had so many problems with the staff working here in the past, incompetent but food is good.

I ve ordered vanilla cookie dough but was given chocolate fudge ice cream. I don't like chocolate at all, pointless to eat the ice cream.

Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza along with two sides. The pizza was not what I ordered - not even sure what it was. The bacon and cheese tots had no cheese and three pieces of bacon that covered the 10 tots in the box. The sweet chilli and cheese sticks were nothing more than hard bread covered in some cheese and the whole thing was cold and had to be warmed up in the microwave. Probably the worst pizza that I have ever had. I find it staggering that if you order the same order from Papa Johns at Hafan Y Mor, it could not be more different. The Codsall branch needs to take some tips as we will not be wasting our money again.

I received part of the order just on time, after calling the restaurant to let them know that the order was incomplete they said the rest of the order would be 30 mins. It came 1hr and 30 mins later!

I've been ordering from here for a few years now.food has always been lovely with plenty of toppings but on the past few occasions it has been disappointing with hardly any toppings on.it seems like they are doing this so there ingredients goes further 🤨.. I think as a customer we should get what we pay for. I feel if this continues then they will lose loyal customer's.

Absolutely shocking pizza looks nothing like the pictures and hardly any toppings - never ordering from Papa johns again and defiantly telling all family and friends this a poor restaurant with poor staff.

Stated ready for collection and not even started cooking. Lack of staff and too many yobs around in Birches Bridge these days.

It's my third time ordering and they always deliver on time and the food always tastes amazing. Would definitely reccomend.

Not the best. Update communication from restaurant to just-eat awful. Was late. Was okay but have certainly had better and as a result won't be ordering again from this restaurant. Everything was....okay. Nothing special.

They have a sign above the door saying "deal of the week £6.99 for a large pizza on collection". When you go in and ask they say that its an old deal and its actually £9.99. Well take the sign down then! Its been there for months! False advertising. Oh and the server tried to keep my penny change when i gave him my tenner 😂

Hardly any filling in the pepperoni dough balls. Pizza like cardboard and hardly any toppings. Tried this Papa Johns again. Yet again the pizza came with hardly any toppings on it. Literally has about 3 slices of pepperoni on a medium sausage and pepperoni pizza. Rip off. Won't order from here again.

Delivery was late by roughly an hour when It finally arrived it was cold and we had given up waiting contacted just eat who did nothing when I called the store it was apparently closed my room mate also said they had a similar situation with this restaurant

I would give this 0 stars if I could. I used to order from this store regularly even though their delivery would always be more than an hour. Today I placed an order online and realised straight away that I had accidently ordered for collection. Order email came through 20.09 and i rang the store at 20.10 to alert them to my mistake and ask if it could be changed to delivery to which they said no. After some back and forth I asked for the order to be cancelled and they said I am not allowed to cancel the order and they told me that I have not given them a good enough reason to warrant it being cancelled. They then told me to pay the driver £2 for delivery and then dropped this to £1 and then said they will deliver for free without even asking for any delivery info from me. I asked to speak to their manager during this ordeal and I kept being told it is my mistake only and they will not cancel the order even though I rang them within a minute of placing the order. I ended up going into store to discuss this with Gur Singh (manager) who alerted me that Sarbjit (area manager) was also present. There was absolutely no resolution to this scenario and neither could tell me why they denied my request to cancel the order. There no attempt from Sarbjit to investigate this issue which is shocking if he is truly a senior manager.

An astonishing display of incompetence, I ordered on the app for delivery at 7pm, the order arrived 45 minutes late after 3 calls with the store and driver. When I got home to eat it, I'd been given the wrong pizza. I called again and the staff couldn't care less. Avoid this store like the plague, every aspect of their service is embarrassing.

Food was extremely late. Called the store who told me that it had just left the store already being 30 minutes late. Was told it would arrive within 10 minutes still hadn't arrived after 20 minutes. Shocking service. No apology for how late it was.

Really unhappy with the pizza being late almost 1 hour late and when called was told yes dont worry on its way. When arrived hardly any toppings on the pizza 1 jalapeño and 1 bit of meat and hardly any cheese on one of the slices. Really disappointing when spending almost £50. 🤷‍♂️

Staff 5/5 they are being over worked as understaffed on one of the hottest days recorded and it’s unbelievably hot in there. Should be able to refuse jobs as to busy to even answer the phone. Items missing from the order, had to beg to get a replacement. Replacement cold and not what originally ordered. We are certainly not using the place again big disappointment.

Started off well enough, ordered with a specified time between 10-20min. This window then shifted to 20-40 min and actually arrived approx 50min from time of ordering. Unsurprisingly food arrived cold. Even worse was that the toppings were wrong. When I rang, Papa Johns staff insisted that they had only followed what came through on the order despite me looking at my receipt email from Just Eat which confirmed my version of the order. They said they’ve never heard of their system going wrong - inferred that I was lying and said there was nothing they could do. So basically had to eat a cold pizza that i didn’t even like after being insulted. If you really have to have a pizza from this Papa Johns.. you might want to order direct as there may be a glitch with Just Eat where it doesn’t relay the order correctly? I dunno… At any rate, just hope you get them on a good day where the delivery is faster and you don’t have to deal with their appalling customer service.

Ordered for the Thursday, delivered Wednesday. Ended up in an argument. Hey ho mistakes happen, they delivered again on the Thursday. Best Pizzas ever so easy to forgive. Plus free pizza on the Wednesday

As you can see from the pictures I ordered a steak and cheese pizza. Where is the steak. I know papas pizza are promoting meat free but come on. Also where is the bacon on the side. The only reason they get 2 stars is delivery was pretty quick. Don't think I will be ordering again. Papa John's you need to sort out your franchises.

Used for years with no issues. However the 2 occasions it has been awful. Orders not arriving, went to collect then waited another 30mins then they sent our order with driver who then had to turn back. You get the gist. Food as a result cold. I've contacted papa johns - I don't want a voucher for another cold pizza. Won't be using again as just hassle and a waste of money sadly.

**DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE** Completely incompetent. Ordered at 6pm, delivered two stone cold pizzas at 730pm when the delivery had been out for an hour, as per their delivery tracker! And even forgot to include the drink we paid for! The delivery driver promised to deliver this and never did. Honestly embarrassing. Also refuse to answer the phone when you call, wonder why. Will be dropping head office an email for a full refund. Treat your customers with some respect.

Brilliant service - the pizza and sides were absolutely delicious and made on time. When I went to collect the order I could see how busy everyone was and how hard they were working, especially the lady working front of house. Unfortunately she had to deal with a very rude customer that was being needlessly nasty to her, but she handled it really well under the circumstances.

Waited over 2 hours on our Friday night i was absolutely starving. Finally comes and it was cold absolute joke was like it had come out the fridge an put straight in the box

Well I do not know what's happened at the branch (Codsall) good job I don't mind Luke warm pizza . By the time I had got half way threw it was stone cold and so were the 2 sides I had ordered . Sorry I don't usually give bad reviews are all but this occasion it was not up to your usually high standards.
