True quality food and real friendly staff. They let your order at the door if your dog is with you and the outside space, even though by the road, is protected by screens. The decor is excellent and love the feel of the place.

The food at this restaurant is exceptional and consistently of the highest standard. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to dine here. With a capacity of just 16 people, and a minimum booking of four, it offers a truly personalised and intimate dining experience. They are highly attentive to individual needs, including dietary preferences and allergies, making every visit feel unique. Jackie and Lucy are simply outstanding in how they present each dish. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a laid-back meal. If you're visiting Lichfield, make sure you book in advance—it’s a dining experience you won’t want to miss!

We were recommended this place by someone from work who pre-warned to book a table because it gets very busy quickly. We weren’t told much about the place, only that the food is great and the drinks were top-notch - they weren’t wrong. We shared between the three of us a Tray Platter (which is a mix of everything) and a Cubano sandwich and it was the right amount of grub. The food was exceptional, especially the pork for the sandwich. The cider selection wasn’t huge but what was there was so good (raspberry ripple for the win!). It really is a hidden gem which is found off the beaten track. Friendly staff and an enjoyable atmosphere. This was our first visit and it definitely won’t be our last!

My wife and I visited Upstairs on a Friday night. We did not live locally and therefore stayed at the nearby Premier Inn (5 mins walk). When we arrived, we given a warm friendly greeting. The team at Upstairs were fantastic all evening. They clearly are very passionate and knowledgable about the food and wine they serve, but so in a relaxed and warm way. The snacks started with had amazing flavours. This quality was maintained throughout the meal with the scallops (in a satay style sauce) and beef being particular highlights. My wife had the famous banana desert and it did not disappoint. Thank you for a really great night and we look forward to coming back soon.
