Ordered from Shokudo on Uber Eats and it was great! Such a wide selection of food it was hard to choose what to oder. I got sushi and had the crispy roll and the spicy tuna cucumber roll and they were great quality. There isn’t really another restaurant like this in Lichfield, and as someone who really likes Asian cuisine, I think it’s a great addition! Also requested for some ponzu sauce to be included, which it was! Can’t wait to try more from here in the future.

We had a lovely family meal here for Mother’s Day. The service was attentive but not over-bearing, our waitress was lovely, polite and efficient. The food was DELICIOUS and presented beautifully - my Dad even took a photo of his salmon set and he never takes photos of food! 🤣 Between us we had the Champon Ramen (noodle soup with pork belly, seafood, veg and egg), chicken udon noodles, salmon set and mixed sushi set and everyone was happy. One of our favourites was the salmon fried rolls that we ordered to share as a side. The atmosphere was relaxed with pleasant, calming Japanese background music, the decor was very pretty and comfortable, adding to the nice experience. I couldn’t quite finish all of mine so asked for my remaining sushi to be boxed up, they presented me with a proper sushi box to takeaway in a neat paper bag complete with extras like wooden chopsticks, napkins, soy sauce and wasabi! Amazing all round, highly recommend!

The Shokudo website seems to imply that it only does takeaways and deliveries. This isn’t the case, however, and the restaurant offers seated accommodation at lunch time and in the evening. We had an excellent meal here, and we can thoroughly recommend the sushi. There is good vegetarian choice although, as one might expect, Japanese cuisine tends to promote fish. It’s good to be served helpings that are modest in size, giving room for one of the various deserts that are on offer. Prices are reasonable too, and the service is prompt and friendly.

Came here for son’s birthday, and I have got to say it was wonderful, the service was brillient and the food was fresh and we all enjoyed our food. Would recommend this Restutant to anyone. We are defiantly coming back here. Thank you Shokudo well done 😍

Didn't enjoy it unfortunately, service wasn't great only got given 2 menus when there was 3 of us. Atmosphere wasn't great, very bright lights felt like an IKEA showroom. Food was alright starters not great main course was alright. For what we got quite expensive. Also one of the starters miso soup had a bit of a fishy taste which is a bit concerning considering it's classed a vegan option.

Came here with two friends as a last minute meal out while I was child free on Valentine’s Day. It was a very pleasant experience. We loved our food and probably indulged just a little too much. I had the lobster ramen with a beef bibimbap. Vicky had the 5 pork gyozas, a seafood ramen with a poke bowl and Dave had 5 pork gyozas, pork belly ramen and a bowl of chips. The broth of the lobster ramen was just beautiful. I was so excited to try lobster and it didn’t let me down. Everything was beautiful 😍 we hope to be back again soon!!

Been to this location when it was ‘Ume’ a few times. But since the rebrand they’ve stepped up what was already some great food. The sushi was genuinely incredible, with us having the California rolls and the special fried rolls, and the mains too were fantastic. Service was super quick, and the staff are always friendly. Brilliant value for money and will be back in no time.

Been here a number of times. Lovely food, friendly staff. They do a lunch deal Monday to Friday - Sushi or Katsu curry with miso soup and a soft drink. Highly recommended!

After a disappointing meal in the city center, we stumbled upon this gem, and it turned our day around! The chicken katsu and rice were hands-down the best we’ve ever had. The chicken was perfectly crispy, the flavors were beautifully balanced, and every bite was a delight. The atmosphere inside was lovely, with a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff, especially the waitresses, were incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. The service was quick too—we didn’t have to wait long, but when the food arrived, it was absolutely worth it. The prices were very reasonable for the quality, making it even more impressive. We’re so glad we gave this place a try, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for flavorful dishes and top-notch service!

This is such a lovely place. Clean. Quiet. Friendly staff. And the food is AMAZING. The cocktails are to die for - we had a sip of our first cocktail and ordered another round of them straight away. The choice of rolls, excellent. We couldn’t get over the flavours. Presented beautifully. Can’t wait to come back

Shokudo was an incredible experience. I had the beef bento box, and every bite was packed with flavor, with perfectly cooked beef and fresh, well-prepared sides. My girlfriend ordered the pork ramen, which was equally impressive—rich, savory broth and tender, melt-in-your-mouth pork. The presentation and attention to detail were top-notch. Shokudo truly delivers, Highly recommended!

Had Takoyaki and Edamame beans to start, both were beautiful. For main, we had vegetable katsu curry and the tonkotsu ramen. Although we both enjoyed our meals, I must say the ramen I had was the best ramen I have ever had, hands down. Beautiful flavours, all fresh and seasoned well, and the broth was amazing! Would 100% recommend this place for sushi, ramen and katsu curry, for sure!

Shokudo is a fabulous Japanese restaurant in Lichfield town centre. We dine here from both the lunch special menu which is brilliant value for money and the evening menu. There is a Sushi 🍣 chef here and the food is authentic Japanese cuisine. Highly recommend

This place deserves so much more recognition. The sushi is fresh, rice and noodle dishes are very tasty. The staff are very friendly. The lights could be dimmed a bit to add some atmosphere - but this doesn't stop me going every time I'm back in Lichfield. Go support this great restaurant!

Excellent authentic Japanese food of a very high standard, one member of our party is Japanese and she enjoyed it as much as we did. Prices are very reasonable. We will return.

I recently dined at shokudo japanese kichen for casual dinner with my friends. And we all loved it, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with soft light and treditional decor. The service was excellent and the menu have wide variety of hot food and sushi i had a shokudo special roll it was really good and fresh. The price was aslo reasonable with good quality, must try place .

After the change of management, this place has improved immensely. The food is varied, tasty and fresh. The staff are pleasant and the environment pleasant welcoming. Try the bento boxes and gyoza.

Visited for lunch today, it was amazing and we will most defo be back, we started with takoyaki and chicken karaage, big portions then we had seafood ramen and chicken bibimbap, which again for the price was plentiful and hot, we were looked after by a lovely waitress who was warm and friendly, great customer service, brilliant food, reasonably priced, what's not to love x

I’ve been in Lichfield this week for work and ate at Shokudo every day, after being so impressed by the tuna poke bowl that I ordered for takeaway on Tuesday. The food was fresh and delicious, and the portions were really generous. The staff at Shokudo were lovely, very welcoming and attentive and the food came out really quickly. If I ever come back to Lichfield I’ll definitely be returning! Thanks :)

One of the best Japanese spots in the UK! As a ramen lover, I was blown away by the flavors—the veggie gyoza and ramen were soul-satisfying. They even treated me to a complimentary mocktail, such a thoughtful touch! Wish I could be here daily, but it’s worth every trip from Leeds. Thank you for an amazing experience!
