Papa John's Pizza in Colchester

Food turned up cold . Pizza cut in odd ways . Some slices thin. Some big ! . Delivery does take a while too.......,.........

I have never felt like such a Karen but my god this is the rudest store ever. Dunno what happened on the app or if it was me, but placed the order, noticed it had duplicated something so I called the store right away and tried explaining what had happened to ask if it’s possible to change the one pizza. The supervisor (who wouldn’t tell me his name, claiming he “can’t” give me his name due to GDPR which is not how GDPR works) kept asking “sorry what?” When he finally understood he cut me off and put me on hold and came back to say they’d been prepped and were ready for cooking (this is now around 3 minutes after the order) I explained that I did call right away and could we try and fix the issue, he just kept talking over me and saying no I won’t do that. I was going to ask okay, can you just remove some of the toppings but he just hung up on me which was just really rude and made me really uncomfortable. My partner called back to ask if there was a way to fix this and did tell him he wasn’t happy that they’d been rude to me, they just kept saying, “nope it’s already dispatched, it left the store. I won’t change it.” THEN I check the tracker and it’s been marked as delivered and it hadn’t arrived at all and in fact didn’t for another 7 minutes. I don’t care that they couldn’t cancel the order which I would’ve understood but they were so horrible the whole time and I wouldn’t have been so grumpy if they’d just been a little nicer and not kept talking over me and hung up.

Won't order from here again. Should've read the reviews. 1 hour 40 minute wait for cold pizza. App said it was delivered when it wasn't, so had no idea when or if it was coming. Useless company all round. Wish I'd read the other reviews. Papa John's has gone down the John. Won't buy from here again.

Pizza has been delivered within 30 minutes. Was very hot, tasty and with loads of ingredients. I really recommend to give it a try.

Wish I read the reviews first, like all the rest, delivery took about 1 hour 15 mins to get here, the tracker said the pizza was cooked 45 mins before delivery. As expected cold rubbery poor food. Please don’t waste your money here. Checked out the independents in town first.

In the days of struggling times for all businesses I cannot believe what I heard. I tried to order a pizza for collection told if I ordered it on line for a xxxl pizza was 9.99 but if I ordered in the shop it was 11.99 so I tried to order it on line with no success. I rang the shop again this time I spoke to a male and explained I couldn’t get through on line he said I need to contact customer services as there may be a problem with on line ordering. I then said can he not do the Pizza for 9.99 online price not 11.99 the shop price as the issue with the order line wasn’t my fault . He replied that online ordering wasn’t anything to do with them but once again to contact customer services.My response to that was I will go else where .

Last month ordered pizza. Took about an hr, cold, congealed cheese...you know the drill. This time they've excelled themselves. After an hr I phoned up to ask where dinner was. Shortage of drivers was to blame. Told them I didn't want a repeat of the previous order IE cold. Was assured they hadn't cooked it yet and it'd be hot when it arrived. Said it would be 15-20 mins. Yep you've guessed it, no sign of it after 20 mins or indeed 50 mins. Phoned again. Was assured again the driver was on way. Another 10 minutes and the driver turns up. Lets see if you, dear reader can guess the state of the 'piping hot' pizza. Ah yes.....It was more a lump of something than a food item by now. Phoned yet again to complain about it and asked to speak to someone in management. Was told the I couldn't speak to the manager was he was "busy making pizzas and getting deliveries ready" but if I wanted another pizza I could pay for another one but it would take two hrs to deliver. If I wanted a refund they couldn't do it instore so I'd have to go on the website and find the customer services number. In summing up there's plenty of kebab shops in Coli that'll do you a nicer pizza than PJs so we'll be giving some of them a look from now on as it would appear that giving a toss about customers ain't high on Papa Johns list of priorities. Typical big corporation mentality. We've had your money so sod ya. Ho hum

Ordered a pizza etc waited 1.30 hours to find out they don't open on Mondays but accepted my order and took my money and even the food tracker stated my food was being prepared, not good hungry kids as it was there dinner, phoned the following day to be told there system was down and I would get a refund in five working days, shocking customer service really not good enough.

Ordered delivery. Food came cold and underdone, the 'bacon' cheese tots came with three pieces of old dry ham. When I complained, the manager sent me a £10 'good-will' payment that didnt work for days and when I tried to use it for delivery (even when hitting the minimum delivery) it took the money off and said i need to spend another £10 to get it delivered! What a joke! Do not waste your money here, you won't get it back

Disgusting service, took my money, won’t deliver my pizza as it’s 100metres over the delivery radius. Spoke to the manager, he couldn’t care less and said he have to run in by head office. Would be quicker if you ran it the 100metres. I will never ever recommend you to any of my guests ever, and I will contact you head office myself. Why on earth I have to wait 5 days for a refund is beyond me! Coor... looking at all the other reviews, looks like you run a pretty poor business. Well done

Best pizza in a long time. Thin bases and nice toppings. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

Ordered my food at 16.28 for 18.00 and did not get it untill 18.35. only just lute warm. called them up and was just lied too.

what I like about papa johns is how different it tastes to pizza hut and dominos. the sauces they do really ad an extra dimensions to the pizza and along with the having the option to go XXL it really does leave you full while still having a few left over slices. the sides orders of wings were great and cooked well enough and not under cooked like a few other places. Delivery is normally under the 30 minute mark but can vary on weekends.

Great value for money, constant deals, quality pizza and great customer service. Love the confidentiality aspect and the respect they have for their customers. Never lets me down always on time and very friendly. Thanks papa john!

As pizza fans my hubby and I have tried them all, and now only get papa johns which are our favourite both for choice and taste and also great value, especially the 2 for Tuesday offer, never disappointed!

Fell for Papa John's pizza while living in the USA and was so pleased to find one in Colchester. Food is always good with speedy deliveries. Great value deals.

I have been here a few times and it has always delivered, literally. Fresh dough has a taste of its own and the ingredients are fresher than other pizza makers down the road - I always go for the XXL because it's even better cold!...

Best pizza around. Good phone communication, prompt delivery(30min on a Saturday night) Maybe a little on pricey side but well worth paying a little extra for quality & taste plus plenty of online deals available.

We discovered Papas whilst at a Haven caravan resort (other resorts are available) and were blown away with the pizzas. Full of flavour, toppings and hot. Now this is where it ends because as soon as you add a 40+ min wait the pizzas begin...

Good pizzas, and fair prices! Delivery time is quick as well! Yesterday was Mother's Day, all the canteens were full, so we ordered four big pizzas at home. It was lovely:)

We waited an hour and 30 minutes for a pizza to be delivered after being told 30 to 40 minutes, no one answered the phone when we tried to find out where it was. Can't say what the pizza was actually like as we had...
