Papa John's Pizza in East Hertfordshire

Everytime I’ve ordered food and delivery time have been 10/10! Can’t believe all the negative reviews, never had a bad order once from here. Definitely recommend! Thanks PJ’s! <3

Ordered pizza through their app. Food eventually turned up. Wings were effectively cold and the pizza order was wrong. When I attempted to call the store I received no answer. I then reattempted to call 6 times still with no answer despite letting the phone ring out for over a minute each time. When I put a complaint in with head office I effective got a " too bad so sad" response. Apparently I shouldn't have eaten any pizza until I heard from the store. Don't bother using this store. There is better pizza and service out there.

Delivered the order late, even though they had more than 24 hours notice of the order and the requested delivery time. Pizza's with hardly any toppings and luke warm, avoid!

I ordered 2 pizzas for my kids and was really spicy.they didn't eat it .it had to go to waste as we adults already ordered a kebab from different shop.I quickly called them ask for a refund and they told me to ring the next day to speak to the manager which I did called but the manager wasn't there.they said the manager will call me back .it's been now 2 weeks and no call from them .horrible experience and rude customer service

Ordered chicken bbq pizza with no bacon. But the bbq sauce was also removed ?? So was just a plain cheese pizza with chicken. Wasn’t too happy but everything else was ok.

Ordered late night takeaway. Delivery was made in about 30 mins. Food was hot. Opened the box and found It have hardly any toppings! Not happy paying £15 for dough and cheese! I probably wouldn't order again. Always had better pizza with far more toppings from Dominos

Got the chicken combo 4 wings 3 bits of chicken and 4 chicken bites for £11 looks like someone’s eaten half of it the driver had a passenger with him who delivered the food

Didn't have the cookies and for some reason decided to package some brownies instead as if they had the cookies inside ridiculous

When I was a teenager I used to work in a pizza place and there was a guy called 'Chris' who sometimes made the pizzas. Somehow, 'Chris' could make any pizza taste terrible, despite using the same recipe and ingredients that anyone else did. You have a 'Chris' making pizzas. I have always ordered the same pizza from Papa John's and it's always good but this time, it was bad. Salty, tasteless and looked like someone threw up on the base then scattered meat on top. I ate the stuffed crust and threw the rest out. I love pizza. I'm now not so sure I will eat it again without having PTSD from the one that was delivered. So no, won't be ordering again.

To be honest. If I hadn’t bought the sauce for it to be 20% off, it would have been almost £30 for one pizza. The extra toppings are expensive. It’s barely even cheesy, not that great. Probably won’t order again. It was a waste of money and late. Don’t recommend unless you wanna waste your money

Cold pizza, potato bites were barely cooked. Poor quality

Had pizza was OK but the cheese and other toppings were very sparse. Don't think I will be going there again. If you don't order through the website the prices are different higher in my case. Paying with cash wasn't that easy.

Worst pizza in my life. Pizza was raw, no bbq sauce on the bbq chicken pizza, no bbq extra sauce that we paid for. Called to let them know and they made our pizzas again. An hour and a half later…surprise surprise the pizza was raw and no bbq sauce. The service was horrible, they couldn’t understand what I was saying as the phone sounded like it was from the 80s. Had to throw it all away because it was inedible.

Was sceptical to order but I was wrong! Pizza arrived delivered from Ware to Hoddesdon within 30 mins of order. Steaming hot pizza and fresh toppings well cooked! Very friendly driver with a big smile on his face!

Pathetic service which took an hour to turn up. Fair enough on a Friday night if busy, but being out for delivery for 20 minutes when walking or driving both take 10 minutes is awful and just results in cold food.. According to their app it was actually ready 20 minutes before even being collected. And having to direct the delivery driver is fine, except knowing left from right ought to be considered a basic.. Thanks to them for filling up the bin I've just emptied.. Never order from here.

For the price I paid my pizza was cold soggy and had a bone in it when I called to complain I was called a liar that there was no bone in the pizza even though I almost choked on it never ever going hear again terrible service terrible food I can really see Papa John's has no care for customers or the service they have

I was invited to my good friends 18th birthday party, we were all excited about having a few drinks and pizza and just having a rather relaxing get together with some good pals, and the pizza was meant to arrive at 8 o’clock. At the time of me writing this (8:38) the pizza still hasn’t arrived at the accommodation. Utterly ridiculous service from this company, for one of the biggest companies in the world, I expected better. Disappointed. I’ll be going to dominoes next time.

App not working tried several times quoting £55 but wouldn’t go through so phoned but staff insisted we had to pay £61 for the sake of £6 was happy to loose the sale we decided to be the bigger person and payed the full amount they need to get their app sorted come on Pappa Johns then had ordered vegan ice cream large tub received tub not big enough for a mouse x needed 3 spoons for this!!!

Says it shuts at 11pm i just called at 22.30 and was told they are shut.

Pizza arrived half cooked, not raw, just soggy. Complained to head office and got nothing.

Terrible pizza and bad customer service. Pizza didn't include everything I ordered, delivery driver didn't have any change for cash payment and pizza left me with stomach ache. Never again.

Everything was fine until the delivery driver decided to get back out of his car and steal flowers out of my garden. He actually reversed back to be away from the door. Little did he realise he was caught on camera. So very rude and disrespectful.

The pizza was 45 minutes late. My order couldn't be found even with the details of time and number. Was left on hold for 10 minutes, no information forthcoming. Eventually was told pizza was on the way. ....in 30 to 40 minutes time. Denied the order was being remade...seeing as how it's at most 10 minutes between my house and the store 30 - 40 minutes indicated to me they were making my order again...or for the first time. They denied this was the case. Couldn't speak to the manager as the manager was "busy" but was promised a call-back. It's a day later. No call no message. I was at least expecting an apology or a refund or some type of recompense but none has been forthcoming. When the pizza did arrive it was as good as always...but this experience was awful. I genuinely don't know what happened there? But the person who answered the call was inept and incompetent. Not what I usually get. I have been a customer since they opened the store but this is the absolute worst service I have ever received.

Had an amazing experience. Pizza was amazing, perfectly cooked and topped, delicious. Staff we extremely polite and friendley, ended up chatting with a young man at the counter for a long while and was thoroughly pleased with my visit, will definetly go again!

Have given this place a few chances but will never be ordering from them again. Delivery usually takes up to 2 hours so if you’re hungry don’t bother. Response is the same when you try to find out what’s going on: driver is on the road will be there soon/in 15-20 minutes. From now on ordering from Dominoes or making my own pizza. Papa Johns, do you want to buy my pizza? Edit. Call 3: drivers have to go slower because of the conditions. Fair enough I agree. But you left nearly 2 hours ago. Oh and your delivery on this final time I order from you, has always been this ducking slow. Are you ok?

I ordered my pizza 1hr 15 mins ago and I’m still waiting but of course the driver is ‘on the road and will be here any minute’ I’ll be sticking to Dominos from now on….always reliable and this has happened twice now from this papa johns. Bored.

Not very good ordered food a few times and they keep getting orders wrong or if they got items missing they just send something random to you then offer you credit at a later date and then conveniently lose all record of the occurrence. would not recommend ordering take away this is collection only

Just ordering pizza and my man's kneading dough with his bare hands! And as if it couldn't get any more unhygienic, he whips his phone out and starts texting! I've got OCD and ADHD and get really touch over this sort of thing.. Wow.

Ordinarily you're middle of the range at best, but my recent experiences have not been good.. I tried the black wings a few weeks back and quite frankly... they're disgusting... burnt all over and the ghost chilli sauce really tasted no different from your plain old buffalo. Nothing special, ate 1, rest went in the bin. Outside was burnt, inside was undercooked. Sauce didn't compensate. I have ordered the Philly cheese steak pizza 3 times now, each successively worse from the previous one. Last nights took the biscuit however. It was clearly a repurposed garlic bread, an anaemic level of cheese, barely cooked peppers loose on top and not even stuck within the imaginary cheese. The sparse and rather crunchy flecks of steak were no different. Strangely you added a swirl of garlic sauce all over it to add a bit of moisture back into the whole mess. Unfortunately, not liking that sauce and never having ordered it, the effect was to ruin what remained of my meal. I ate 2 slices before binning the rest. Not impressed papa john's, not impressed at all.

Staff should learn a basic customer service. I am ordering by phone and the staff just suddenly hang up the phone and I tried to call and it was ringing and they didn't answer. Most of the time when ordering by phone staff have a bit of an attitude. At least they should be courteous to their customers. Sad but I will never buy papa Johns in ware.

Pizza was generally good. Maybe a little on the overdone side for some people, but it was spot on for how I liked it. It's just a shame that an alright takeaway pizza can cost £28 nowadays.

👎The dough was extremely chewy and the pizza had hardly any toppings at all compared to your main competitors .My family was all actually still hungry when we finished,really poor value for money and a totally unsatisfactory experience.We shall not be returning for sure 👎

Terrible customer service. Our order was incomplete and we were given incorrect refund information. Not worth it as the food wasn't that great anyway.

Our pizza took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when we finally got to eat them they were burnt and dry. I've never eaten such a dry takeaway pizza.

Pizza was soaked in grease to the point it was inedible. Customer service was useless, didn’t offer replacement or a refund, was told to fill in complaint online which has had no outcome. I’m still yet to receive a refund.

This is for Ware branch. I don't know what is the connection between the real time making from the branch and the online application, but definitely they don't meet. I received my pizza later than expected, but still it was delicious.

Don't bother, either won't turn up or will be over an hour late. Then when you phone to ask about your order they're very aggressive and lie. Got told I was rude and then they hung up, I only phoned to ask where my PAID FOR order was after 1 hr and 30 minutes waiting and the app saying they had delivered 25 minutes ago.

Came here after dominos couldn’t handle a pizza order. Got in, ordered, paid and gone in 10 minutes. No fuss just good pizza. Anyone would think dominos staff are performing surgery the way they carry on

Can't fault the service I received. Tasty pizza and sides with a good choice available for all kinds of dietary requirements or preferences. I pre-ordered in the morning and the pizza arrived almost exactly on time at 7pm that evening. Very friendly delivery driver too. I still personally prefer Dominoes for flavour, but would definitely consider this chain again and would recommend to others mainly due to choice and the wide range vegan/vegetarian pizza and side options.

Please don’t bother!!! Tried to order a pizza....said it was out for delivery on the tracker...nothing turned up. Called them they said ‘oh yeah the trackers wrong it’s about to leave now’ nothing turned up...asked to cancel, they got all stroppy. Now cancelled and requested A refund and need to wait 5 days for a refund. Feels like a con, just go to dominos!

Still awaiting my food after the tracker says it’s delivered. Tried calling 6 times and just had a continuously ringing line. Extremely unsatisfactory

Pizza took 2 hours to arrive and then was freezing cold, had to call 3 times to chase as they tried saying it was ordered as a collection (it absolutely wasn't I have the email confirming). Then they refused to remake it and made out like they were doing me a favour to deliver!! Tried to complain by calling the shop and got palmed off to customer services on the website saying that they'll arrange the refund. Customer services is just the branch by email so was told that as my pizza was received I had no grounds for complaint. This was my first order and it will be my last. One star is too much. This branch of Papa John's is an absolute disaster. Atrocious customer service, always takes ages, always lie, always cold, always forget something, seem to struggle to find addresses even when noone else does, never apologise, never a manager on site, always just stick you on hold or hang up on you. Overpriced for terrible service and food.

The last 3 orders I've had from Ware branch have had issues - something burned, something missing, an hour past the selected delivery time, food arriving cold. The last time they managed to hit all 4 of those, quite an achievement. After yet another pained call with the branch who cannot hear you due to the noise where their phone is (expect to be shouting, literally) they offered a replacement meal for free the next time I called - my partner and I witnessed this offer. The member of staff assured me it was recorded in their system against my phone number. So a few weeks later I called, and the "free meal" had changed to "half price meal". I wouldn't pay anything at all for the service this branch delivers, so that will be my last ever contact with this branch. Time to move to a competitor.

Took 1 hour and 40 minutes to deliver, the tracking said it's been delivered 45 minutes after the order, after 1 hour waiting for my food called the restaurant and the girl said not to worry about it because the system never accurate!! Did not said a sorry just hang up! Of course the food was cold

I have to agree with the other reviewer. Regarding delivery, there seems to be proper contempt for customer service from this branch. Diet drinks are routinely switched in favour of sugared ones and the Special Garlic Sauce will often be swapped with the appalling Garlic and Herb dip. Recently, the Cinnamon scrolls were delivered without icing - just dough and cinnamon! Yummm, tasty! They rarely, if ever telephone you of your options before delivery. When you complain about order irregularities, timithey will either (a) hang up, (b) act dumb, or (c) promise you extra next time and hope you'll forget about it. Also, don't waste your time complaining on the website either, they never ever listen. However, you do get some free garlic cheese sticks for completing the online questionnaire, just don't expect them hot, with cheese or to be delivered at all next time you order.

Absolutely useless. Ordered tandoori poppers as a side. Got normal chicken instead without warning. Phoned to query it. Guy said we ran out ages ago and haven’t changed the menu. We just send out normal chicken instead. Absolute joke! Took up with papa johns online and they don’t care either. Use dominos is my judgement!

Ordered a vegan pizza for someone who was lactose intolerant and it came with real cheese and cheese stuffed crusts (which we did not order!!), this person had one bite which made her ill with a migraine and vomiting! This could have been a lot worse, someone eating that who is severely allergic could have gone into anaphylactic shock! THIS COULD KILL SOMEONE!

Out of 2 picas and two sides had to bit all items. Dreadful, cold, tasteless. Late delivery, when called to ask where is order have been told - the order have been delivered somewhere else. They had to re-cooked and then they failed to deliver it worm. Won't recommend and will share this feedback in more places.

Over an hour for delivery,all cold,garlic sauce pot had burst and was all over pizza,looked and tasted bad .If you need a reason to give up pizza,order from here. I won't be ordering again

Took an hour and 15 minutes for my order to arrive and when it did it was stone cold. Told by the driver to phone the store which I did only to be told the manager wasn't there so I couldn't get a refund and was told to wait for a call back.

After ordering at 18:50 I waited until 20:40 to receive my order, sadly it was all cold and I have never had chicken more disgusting! Both boxes of chicken were rock hard and inedible! Papa John's you've really gone to the dogs! Won't be ordering from here ever again!

Last night we ordered from papa John’s. Delivery was very late, pizza was cold and especially the chicken wings did not taste fresh at all, had a bad smell too.

Terrible experience. Non dairy cheese ordered due to dietary requirement but dairy cheese provided! A risk to anyone with an allergy. Food arrived late and stone cold. Manager LIED about vouchers and then was verbally abusive on the telephone. Conplaj t tk head office IGNORED. Avoid unless you want to be ill

Excellent service after being seriously let down by Dominos. Have always used Dominos in the past but will be using Papa Johns from now on.

This has to be the worst place in ware to order a pizza, ordered at 6,30pm it's now 8,30 and no sign of my pizza, called them said it's on it way. 5 minute drive to us 30 minutes later still no sign of my pizza. Hopeless never use them

Food is normally quite good. Service is hit and miss. The language barrier is terrible. When you phone to place an order it sounds like they are standing outside of an aeroplane, and their English is terrible. Took me 10 minutes to place a small order because the blokes English was so bad. You really need to improve that. It is VERY frustrating.

Good quality pizza, not greasy, their dips aren't as good as domino's however. If you catch them on a good deal day you can get real. value for money

Food was on time. Very tasty. Delivery driver had eaten most of our potatoe wedges which we hadn't planned for. Thanks and I won't order from you again if you're going to eat my food!
