Papa John's Pizza in Cherwell

4 XXL pizza ordered at 5pm on Saturday 19th Oct for a delivery at 8pm in Banbury. They still got it wrong. Lousy service, and the pizzas still arrived 45 minutes late & I wouldn’t feed my pet pig the gruel which was delivered. Do yourself a great favour: DON’T BOTHER

Their delivery driver entered my home without consent, broke the seal on my pizza and opened it in front of me because it was damaged during transit. Contacted their customer service and they said sorry and nothing else. They're talking to the driver and nothing else. I wouldn't order from here again.

...Why does the sausage meat look like kibble? The pizza was OK, scarce of toppings, but the 'garlic pizza sticks' were burnt. Literally black in the middle, crumbled to nothing. Papa John's used to be great, idk what has happened to it.

We've only ordered deliveries from this Papa John's, but the service has always been wonderful. The food is prepared and delivered promptly, the delivery drivers are always pleasant and very polite when asking for feedback to be left. Very happy, thank you.

The base of the pizza is fairly good. However, the cheese was almost negligable and the toppings were scarcings. We had a Greek, feta and olive. My guess is there were about 5 sliced olives on a XXL pizza. The photo shows the pizza next to a 99p Tesco pizza. Which has the most cheese? You decide.

First time i ordered i was very impressed! Unfortunately this time im left disappointed, not only was the cookie dough stone cold when it arrived but the milk tea had a gone off taste and what looks like separated things floating in the top, then i thought id try the cheese cake, which was delicious but payed over £5 for a extremely small slice, im very disappointed as was looking forward to this !

garlic bread strips were hard and overcooked. other wise would have been 5 stars

Food came fast and warm. The driver was polite and friendly. The pizzas were great!

Placed order over an hour later phoned told 5 minutes. Half hour later turned up. Customised order bit they got it wrong. Sadly won't be ordering again.

Delivered on time and as good as we’d hoped. First ever Papa John’s and it won’t be our last.

Missing BBQ sauce on pizza but otherwise good

I gave these guys a second chance, giving them the benefit of doubt as my other experience with them wasn't good either. This was meant to be an early Birthday treat. This pizza is cold, chewy, hardly any toppings. Where is the cheese!!! This was meant to be the garden party with added sausage. One piece of sausage and two chunks of tomato on one slice?? If they coudnt possible be even more cheapskate, by playing poverty with the toppings. Sausage that looks like dried kibble. I woudnt even give this to my neighbours dog to eat. Massive let down. NOT WORTH the money. Maybe they did this because it was deal for £10.00 on collection, rather than the full price of £23.19. Thank God i didnt pay the full price of £23.19! This is not great food quality!!! Vile. Also asked for an extra dip which they charged me 69p for when they are meant to be 59p. Wish I would have gone to Caprinos or maybe picked up a pizza from Iceland. Order 70648671

Increasingly unhappy with Papa Johns. Orders are almost always late and lukewarm. Today's driver walked over my neighbour's garden to give me food that wasn't in the warming bag so of course my food was almost cold. Quality of the jalapeño poppers was bad with several split open and cheese coming out. Call handler offered me some compensation for next time but I don't trust that they'll do so.

At which point I said I'd cancel the order- I was then offered additional items for free - I then realised I was being lied to about the order being on its way. I said I would cancel and he had to go and check with someone else. I then eventually cancelled and he said he didn't know how long a refund takes "always changes times" what ever that means. Overall the service was awful, the staff lie and I will be going into the branch this afternoon to take the refund in cash. Also will not be using Papa Johns again.

Waiting over 40 minutes for pizza and delivery come soggy and cold... Dissapointed

The seals on the boxes were open and the food didn't taste fresh. My guess is it was delivered to the wrong address then sent to us.

Delivery time was between 18.30 and 18.50. It turned up at 19.17 It was almost cold, so had to bang the oven on to re heat it. Not happy as I had a friend here to share and had told her how nice your food is.

We’ve always been fans of papa johns.. until we used the Banbury branch. On two separate occasions the order has been wrong, staff couldn’t care less when it was brought to their attention. My wife was allergic to one of the wrong ingredients placed onto her pizza, luckily this was noticed early on. I wouldn’t recommend using this branch unless you’re desperate..

Rubbish pizza , awful taste the sauce and the meat with spices they put is totally off. If you want to enjoy good pizza this ain't the place.

I think l very early on after being ready some one either dropped the pizza or turned it in its side because it was folded in itself and a mess. The fact they decided to still sell it is abominable

Such lovely delivery, all was as ordered and great quality, lost one star as the pizza was a bit soggy in the middle - which is very unusual for these guys. Would still order again.

Food was great,nice and hot. However the delivery driver seemed to have an issue understanding where you can park, on my road. Instead of on the road, right outside my house. He thought that the big green patch of grass, next to my neighbours driveway was an acceptable area. The tyre tracks he left on the lawn are now a wonderful feature that differentiates his house from the rest on the road. Maybe should have gone to spec savers?

Getting pretty annoyed when I come here and the app says my pizza is ready for collection, only to be told by them that it’s not ready and a couple of seconds off and then wait 20 plus minutes every time. If it’s not ready, don’t tell the app it is ready, it’s really not hard is it. Luckily this was my free pizza I had earnt and I definitely will not return. I do not recommend this play anymore. It’s not hard is it

The pizza was good as always, but the chicken was really, really off. Literally inedible, I took a bite and couldn't eat it because it tasted bitter, rank, sickly and just... horrendous. Stick to pizza.

Marked as delivered when it was meant to be delivered, don’t know why or by whom. Second time this happened but with a different restaurant makes me think just eat. It was late but was still reasonably hot and restaurant when I called told me 5 more mins and they were right.

Ordered 1 pizza and 1 drink for my son as I’m quite unwell today. Arrived almost cold 45 mins late 😢 I sent a message to the shop and the reply said due for 9pm which would have been 1hr45 mins so luckily it arrived when it did!

The last few times I’ve ordered from Papa John’s they’ve been late delivering - anywhere from 45mins to two hours. Calling them does nothing as they give a vague new eta that they still don’t hit, then pile on excuses. I wouldn’t mind waiting longer for food during rush times but the least they could do is give an honest answer about how long it’ll be. Apart from being a little closer to luke warm, the food when it finally arrived was good.

Took around 2 hours to arrive. Pizza was ok but really nothing special.

Usually okay, but terrible service and quality of food. Took over two hours to deliver pizza, and turned up very greasy and cold! Would not answer the phone repeatedly when using number we placed the order with, but then answered when we rang on a different number? Then proceeded to tell us it was on its way, only to arrive 35 minutes later. Over two hours to wait in total. I understand it has snowed today, but majority or roads at this point have been gritted and cleared as it was light snow. Poor service throughout. Such a shame as ordered previously and been okay earlier in the year. Will not be going back.

We've never had any complaints or problems as far as ordering delivery from PJ goes. It arrives quickly and the pizza is about as good or better as any take-away pizza place. Personally, I find their vegan cheese better than most, although it has been a while since I had pizza from anywhere else. We've always received exactly what we've ordered. My only grumble is that the vegan Marmite scrolls were lush, and they stopped doing those, instead doing a flat bread now, which is nowhere near as nice.

We used to love papa John but now the pizza from them are full with oil disgusting I couldn't eat one slice and I've payed £20 for nothing, full of oil, shame of you guys because we couldn't eat one slice from you..we will know next time to don't order from you anymore!!!

I’ll keep this short Pre ordered pizza at 5.30pm for the match at 7 - pizza arrived at 7.25, 25 mins late. How can it be 25 mins late when it was literally pre ordered an hour and a half prior to its delivery? The tracker told me it had left the restaurant at 6.47, so maybe it was on the way on time, however the same tracker told me I had it and to ‘Enjoy’ at 7.07…. If this tracker is accurate in terms of dispatch, my pizza was sitting in a box in the drivers car for close to 40mins…. Pizza was cold and tough, like chewing an old boot… prob worst pizza I’ve had in a long long time No apologies or gesture for the delay from driver or restaurant Will be using dominoes in future, god awful and waste of money

The pepperoni “perfection” wasn’t so perfect after all.. it was undercooked and stank when I opened it… used to love ordering from papa johns but might not again if it continues to be a bad as it was thanks

I think this is with no doubt one of the best pizza places in Banbury excellent service very friendly atmosphere and highly experienced individuals one of the tastiest and delicious food with good value for money shame on the rest overcharging and making a mockery and fool out of you but this place highly recommended xxx****** I would rate it 7 star if I could

Absolutely dire service today. I ordered a pizza at 7:30pm for delivery at 9pm. I ended up calling 5 times and was constantly told he’s 10 mins away. I ended up going down there and was offered a pizza that they had spare. They said he was still on his way. We got home and it still hadn’t been delivered. It was after 11pm and still no pizza. If we had not gone down there we wouldn’t have had anything! Will not be ordering again. Shambles!

No updates ,and food took really long to be delivered ....

Over an hour late, freezing cold, called 5 times and got fobbed off. Asked Just eat to cancel and refund me repeatedly and got ignored. The worst service. Waiting 2 hours for a pizza isn’t why I order fast food

Haven't got my food at all. Supposed to be at my place at 20:20 and it wasn't. In the app said enjoy your food. Called the restaurant and they said they are busy. But wasn't busy to take my money out of my account and confirm the order. Then they said would arrive the order after 30 to 40 minutes. Still haven't got it.

Over 3 hrs late and still not arrived such poor service is underestimated...throb you off saying busy and be 20 to 30 minutes. Offered extra for being late and even that did not turn up. Customer service is shocking and poor but we know the food quality was good fir over 3hrs wait...

Without a doubt the best pizza establishment in Banbury, they offer amazing deals the pizza, sides, etc are cooked to perfection and the price compares well with other pizza restaurants in the town. I will be visiting again

It took an hour for delivery since I received order confirmation, the app showed “baking” for 40mins…? The food was room temperature and chewy when it arrived. Don’t waste your money…it’s cheeper, better quality, and more convenient to buy one from a supermarket. The only thing that makes me give this more than one star is the fact they got my order right. Edit: reported to their customer service after the same issue again, they replied 2 days later expecting pictures…what a joke

Delivery driver should have a map!

I put in my order around 0830 and it was confirmed for 1135 delivery time. At 1150 I called the restaurant to See where the order was and they said it was on the way. At 1203 I received a text saying it was on the way. At 1231 I called the restaurant again and they said it should be there shortly. Finally I received my delivery about 10 minutes later. That is terrible and unacceptable.

Delivery driver was incredibly rude, pulled my door shut when I opened it and demanded I remove my dogs. If you have a problem with the dogs place the food on the ground and leave. Do not drag the door shut or demand I remove my dogs, you do not live here, they will not hurt you and you do not get to make demands of me or my family members. Do better, I won’t be ordering again.

All good apart from being late app tells me to enjoy my food when it’s not arrived yet!!! Food still hot etc but the app should say sorry running a little late!!

The quality of the food very poor for what you pay for

The staff don't really know if the meat they use is halal or not and seem ashamed to advertise it. Asked if the meat is halal and got told it is but they only advertise it on the packaging and not in the premises. When I got my food there was no advertising on that either. All they care about is the money and not customer service or satisfaction.

Always friendly and helpful - even when arriving at 1145pm on the way back from a gig in Birmingham. Their 2 for 1 is great value, and kept hot on the 15 minute drive home. One warning: if you have pizza left over, don't use an opened garlic sauce.

My order was late and I got no extra toppings even though I paid for them. I am pretty disappointed.

Rude driver had a go at me for not meeting a minimum order of £11 or more. Not happy as On the page it clearly states no minimum order and no delivery fee. Perhaps check this before sending drivers out questioning the customers

It took 45 mins for my food to arrive. It was cold. When I rang the restaurant to ask about my food they were rude.

I was impressed with the delivery time and the quaulity of the Large Meat Feast Pizza, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it thank you.
