Ordered twice now from the shop in townbfor deliveries. Both times very polite delivery drivers, food arrived hot and tasted delicious too. Second time we ordered over the phone instead of online as online wouldn't allow us to do delivery. Very polite and well mannered staff where nothing was too trouble. Thank you!

It's been temporarily closed for a few months, which really sucks as it's my favourite - amazing tasting pizza, definitely the best takeaway pizza I've ever had! Only small complaint would be that the pizza could do with slightly longer in the oven (wish that was an option on the app), but everything else tasted amazing - crust, cheese, toppings, dip, etc. I only interacted with staff very briefly on collection, but they seemed friendly and were fast to get my order. Pizza was piping hot, and I love how you can track it's status. No idea why it's closed but please open it back up ASAP!

Slowest delivery I've ever experienced, rude staff and that's when someone finally answers the phone. 2 hours for delivery! Avoid at all costs. And Matt you need to learn better customer services pal, Complete and absolute joke. Oh and if your food is cold you can't complain because that terms and conditions state so. So it's acceptable to deliver the food cold.

30 minutes wait, take my payment and then cancel the order. They still have my payment. Sort it out guys. You won't survive with this type of service.

Pizza never showed up. App said it was delivered so I called to ask where the pizza was. I was told app is incorrect and the driver was on his way. We never got the pizza and when we tried to call again ( 5 times) they never answered the phone. This was a Monday night soi can't imagine it was that busy.

Placed an order on a Tuesday online for collection. Saw no updates on the web tracker, but this has happened a few times so as I was nearby I went to the shop anyway. Shop was shut.. so they take the money for the online order with no intention of fulfilling the order. Tried to contact customer support and have had no reply, just told to be patient after a week of patiently waiting. When I visited the shop on the Tuesday, there were several other customers having the same experience so I imagine it was a profitable night for papa johns. Take money, do nothing, nice. —update— The money has now been refunded.

Just turned up to Papa Johns to collect our pizza which we had already paid for, the shop was closed and then one minute after the collection time they cancelled our order, the shop isn't supposed to close for another 30 minutes. We ordered over 24 hours in advance and they cancelled after the collection time, what a joke!

Dont bother on a Saturday, take your money and 3 hours later they say its delivered when its not and then you have to try and get your money back

Gave me a pizza with pork on it despite me telling them it's against my faith before order. To top it off there was a promotion that any problem with a pizza you get a new one free at the time and they didnt even honour it! Prejudiced company never shopping with them again

If I could give 0 stars I would. My stepdad ordered a gluten free pizza because he's ceoliac, so he's actually allergic, he doesn't have the diet to follow some sort of fad. The pizza was prepared in the same section as the normal pizzas and so the gluten free pizza was contaminated. My stepdad asked for a refund and was told the manager wasn't on site and he was the only person who could refund the pizza. He finally got a refund after 2 hours of waiting. Do not advertise your pizzas as gluten free if you're then going to contaminate them. You will poison people.

The worst. Two hour wait and they then deliver freezing cold pizzas and sides. Order from the competition especially in Exeter. These guys are terrible.

The first pizza I received had hair in it, I ask to return it, they make me another pizza which arrives uncut (i cut it in half and then made a photo) and undercooked. At this point I'm tired of waiting and not eating for 2-3 hours since the first order and I ask for a refund. They say I have to return the full order untouched (how would I do that if I tried the pizza and only then noticed the uncooked dough). Anyway, after some time we agree on a refund. At least I thought so. 3 days go by, the transaction shows up as "pending". About 5 days later it was settled but I didn't get a refund so I called one more time to check. They said it might take longer to refund, about 7 business says, but then the man on the phone says the THIRD of the pizza I returned (the one with the hair) was eaten. It's just ridiculous honestly. Since I literally took ONE bite and noticed the hair. It's been almost 3 weeks later and still no refund. Also, the customer servise email they left here to some people in the reviews doesn't exist lol

Food is quite good. Collection is usually quite fast but delivery can be unreliable. Had to wait 2.25 hours for delivery of two lukewarm pizzas and they offered me £5 off my next order as compensation.

Late delivery of cold pizza ahoy!!? Appalling experience of Papa Johns Sidwell Street Exeter tonight. My wife and I ordered a pizza and 2 sides through the website for 8pm delivery time we proceeded to monitor the App (order on it's way) and when appropriate based on the App info I stood outside the hotel just before 8pm only to then watch the Papa Johns moped drive past the front of the hotel literally 2 minutes later? I continued to stand outside for the next 20 minutes thinking the moped must have gone somewhere else quickly before giving up and returning to my hotel room, now highly annoyed, having missed the end of the F1 Grand Prix highlights. On phoning the shop and swearing in my annoyance (not at the person!) they hung up on me. I called again and asked for a refund only to be told they can't give one and I must go through the website before hanging up on me!? I then called back again and the man said he would get a new order dispatched! Then within 5 minutes of me calling, my original and now very 'cold' order magically turns up minus my 1.5 litre bottle of Pepsi Max Cherry!! The order had clearly been 'on the road' for more than 40 minutes by now!! I phoned the store to complain only for them 'not to answer the phone' after calling them from 2 different mobiles several times. Why bury your heads in the sand and not answer your phone? I spend a lot of money on takeaway pizza but will never ever buy from you again. You didn't care about me as a customer and your service and approach to me reflected that. For anyone that orders with a specified time from Papa Johns Sidwell Street Exeter, just remember that if it's on a Sunday night, add around 45 minutes to the real time of delivery, even if the App says 'delivery on its way'.

Recently found out i'm Gluten intolerant. Spoke to Tom who was more than helpful and very patient. Made my first experience of ordering a Gluten free pizza a breeze. This review is based on customer service

Papa Johns is my favourite Pizza and whenever I have ordered from here it's beautiful. However, the opening times of this place are insane. It closes way too early and have been forced on several occasions to order a dominos instead. I have no clue why this place opens at 11, who is having Papa Johns for lunch? Please open and close later Papa🙏 #bringbackpapajohn

Well, this is a pizza place I absolutely hate. I had the highest hopes for this place when I placed my first ever order because I kept seeing it in movies and YouTube videos and that's what made it so much worse when I finally ordered from them.Being my first ever order l decided to go small and only order a pizza.Began customising it and at some point l saw a warning message saying that I can only choose 7 toppings because"from their experience it's not going to taste good with more ingredients" . (Needless to say that that 8th topping that I wasn't allowed to add was cheese which wasn't actually a different one because it was automatically selected but the system failed to see that it's just extra cheese). I overlooked that and went ahead and selected the medium size. It arrived fairly quickly and I got a call to come out and collect it so I said ok give me 5 minutes at that point the delivery guy started shouting oh no that's too much for me, come fast, fast. I eventually got my order and what I see us this tiny tiny pizza that in no case could be filling. Size aside with all the 7 toppings it was absolutely tasteless, ingredients were anything but fresh and the cheese stuffing was not soft. So all in all worst pizza ever, really small, they cap your choice of toppings because oh well they know better how you like your food and the rudest delivery staff I have ever encountered. Highly NOT recommend. I wish we had the option of 0 stars. I would have definitely selected that because they don't even deserve one star

One of our orders was wrong when delivered and we were unclearly told by delivery driver we had to give this back in order to receive our correct meal. Told the team over the phone that we couldn't do this as we are currently isolating (as a precaution) and they rudely said that we shouldn't have ordered from the company. I wish there is a rating lower the zero i would have given that to papa johns sidwell branch the staff is extremely rude. My order got delayed 1:30 hour despite me living 1 street down from the shop and when i enquire about it the shut m e down very rudely.would tell all my friends and family don’t ever order from the sidwell street shop.

Hemanth at Papa John's devon cliff and the other member of staff were very pleasant, polite and friendly. We ordered 3 pizza, 6 dips and potato. All were hot, speedy and delicious. Thanks guys your awesome!

Soooo disappointed! Topping spread just past middl just past middle of pizza leaving one third without any topping! Optional extra mushrooms non existent! All in all a miserable experience for us.

The pizza was way too small for £16.50... as I ordered second to largest available, it was slightly bigger than my hand palm(keeping in mind that I am a normal sized lady). And the pizza was missing one of the key ingredients why I ordered it in the first place. Not happy, but please keep in mind for other customers, that better is to serve then what they are after, than making such a big mistakes and being told off after.

The app said it would be delivered by 18.32 but it didn’t show up till 5 to 7. The pizza had clearly been cooked a while ago as it was not hot. The pizza was also dry as there was not enough tomato sauce on it.

Tried to call numerous times to which nobody answered. Ended up making an online order. When I recieved the email it didnt have any time on it. Tried to call again. Then drove to the chineese to collect other items. I ordered, recieved my order and drove to pappa John's and get told it's going to be another 15 minutes. 50+ minutes for a pizza ordered online. 15 minutes for a chineese ordered at the restaurant. The other food was cold by the time I got back.

The most disrespectful and useless staff to this date. Had to wait 2 hours for a pizza delivery. The staff were plain rude as they sighed and hung up on the phone when asked a question about the delivery. Atrocious and disgusting behavior which is unheard of in the service industry. Utterly poor costumer service. Would not recommend in any way.

No appologise for late food. No information about late delivery. I have to call to hear that there are no drivers and bad weather. Bad weather? Really? South Yorkshire is flooded and there is no 1h late deliveries.

We ordered a pizza which was due to come at 11:20. But the pizza ended up being half an hour late. When the pizza was delivered, the deleivery guy didnt even know where he was going, but when we opened it, we were horrified by the quality of the pizza. It was smashed against the box and looked like it had been caught in a storm. Called back and asked them for a new one but the second pizza was even worse. It did not even look like a pizza. The pizza was also cold and greasy so we called a complaint. However the services appoligised for their inconvenience and said we would have an refund. Thinking we were going to keep the pizza, we took two slices but it was only then that they called saying that they were going to collect the pizza. We told them that we had done so and they said that they would personally deliver it again. We waited for 45 minutes and they never came with the pizza. This is simply not good enough and completely horrified by their services.

A la pizza le faltaba la salsa bbq en una pizza bbq, por lo que es lo opuesto a lo que pedí. Encontré un cabello negro debajo de una de mis rodajas dentro de sus cajas selladas, ninguno de mi familia tenía cabello oscuro / negro y mis cuñas que pedí estaban mal cocidas y muy pálidas, pero el queso y el tocino de la parte superior estaban quemados, nada felices por mi primera Tiempo ordenando con ellos! Last night I went into your Sidwell store in Exeter and the time was about 10:45 PM I entered the store with my girlfriend and asked for a pizza as we have just been to the cinema and was very hungry upon entering your store a man in a white T-shirt with glasses said as he was cashing up We are not serving no pizzas, the Oven is turned off So I said to him why are the ovens off because we still have 20 odd minutes?, He then said well the ovens off. Furious with this I called the Papa Johns in cowick Street who was very happy and helpful to make me a pizza so I could pick it up, after the phone call I said to the guy in the Sidwell Street place that I ordered a pizza from the other store he shrugged his shoulders and then as I walked away started laughing with his friend thinking it was funny. I have no idea why you would employ such people in your business when they clearly don’t care about the customers or making food rather think it’s funny when someone’s hungry and laugh about it, I went to the same store a couple of months ago and I went in there around the same time and the doors were locked I thought that you close at 11 PM am I mistaken? I have attached a photo of both staff members and as you can see them laughing.

I was really looking forward to trying a marmite stuffed crust... however there was none. It was just cheese. I’d usually just get a thin crust, but was so tempted by the marmite. Bit of a fail.

As with most Papa John's the pizza is excellent. This store is mostly for delivery but when I walked in to the little counter I was served quickly and professionally. Delivery service is reliable and prompt.

I liked the garlic sauce a lot. Wedges weren't that great and did not look appealing either, feel like there needs to be more to them. Pizza base was delicious and the sauce over it but again it was hardly any vegan sausage and nothing else on it, some vegetables would have been nice.

Order my food, go into the takeaway with a guy making the dough bases no gloves protecting his arms and his arms were really hairy which made me wonder how much hair actually gets stuck on the dough base think he should be wearing some type of protective gloves. Price wise for a medium pizza ok but the food was tasteless and not very nice could taste any of the toppings I ordered only the dough not happy.

Took an hour after ordering till we were contacted to say that there was no vegan cheese. So my partner needed to have a pizza with no cheese - the availability of vegan options was the only reason we ordered from here. After the call it was another 45 minutes to arrive. Not worth the wait for an overly expensive mediocre pizza.

Charged me for a 1.5 liter of 7up and sent a 600ml.

Never arrived after two hours ordered at 13:55 arrival time 14:55. Rang the restaurant, kept being told it’s 15 minutes away then they offer to make another over two hours after I ordered the pizza. Asked for my money back and they hung up the phone.
