PLEASE DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE BY EATING HERE- you are better than that.At first it looks like a normal buffet place from the street. Then you enter and they quickly take your money along with all your hopes and dreams of a delicious oriental themed evening out. In a sentence: the food was disgusting, no choice and absolutley no flavour- just little lumps of fat swimming around in grease.I drunk lots of pepsi max (this is help yourself) just because I wanted to feel my £10 had not been completley wasted. I left feeling hungry and disappointed, though with a very full bladder.

This place is utterly terrible and I would urge you not to visit. It's no wonder they ask you to pay as you arrive and before you've had a chance to see the buffet.The food looks like unappealing (borderline) inedible slop and tastes exactly how it looks. The selection is very narrow to begin with and many of the dishes aren't Chinese food - sausages, chips, onion rings, etc. There are a few dishes which are simply a sauce to add to other components of a dish; things which I think would normally be made up together?! Maybe if you want some of your dishes bone dry as well as chewy this place is for you...After attempting a couple of plates I couldn't work up the courage to try the deserts. There was the strangest looking 'Eton Mess' I've ever seen, a selection of small cakes/tarts that you could buy in a super market in boxes of 6, and some fruit (tinned?) floating in a pool of juice/syrup.On the plus side the staff were friendly enough and seemed efficient. It's £10 for an adult but honestly you'd be better off just eating the £10 notes.

We went in for lunch yesterday, tried sweet and sour, pork in barbecue sauce, beef in black bean sauce, curry, all completely inedible meaning we ended up having to pay £10 for a handful of chips (only half edible thing they serve). They also make you pay before sitting down to eat which I can only assume is to make things harder to get your money back. Will never go back, the most vile meal I’ve ever had.Also to mention, pretty much every piece of chicken was pink inside so so be careful of that

Prob the worst all you can eat chinoiserie I’ve ever had! The food was flavourless and dull. I love satay sauce.... I have no idea what that was that I ate but it wasn’t like any satay sauce I’ve ever eaten before 🤷🏻‍♂️

We came here not long ago, and it was the worst experience ever! The manager was so horrible to the staff, he was so aggressive and started shouting. It was a horrible atmosphere. The food is always cold, the new food is tipped on top of old food, which is vile. Not a nice experience at all, we will never be coming back!

Went for a meal with a group of friends, many problems happened, hairs found in multiple dishes, chicken was pink inside which we all ate, staff we ride and disrespectful and overall the food and staff we awful. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, wont be going back again

2 adultos y 1 niño, domingo almuerzo 28 y que incluía una bebida del autoservicio cada uno y postres si los quería.Una selección muy razonable por el precio, ¡no sé qué esperan las personas por un precio con una bebida incluida!Costillas encantadoras y pollo satay. Rather brusque attitude from the staff. Food not always hot, fish in ginger and spring onion no longer on menu, and curries like water. Used to recommend. Cannot any more under new ownership.

Used to come here all the time when we went shopping in Exeter during the summer. Visited last week and shame gone down hill. Food was cold and slightly tasteless. Whatever has happened please change it back!!

Mi familia ha estado yendo a este buffet durante años, la última vez que fuimos fue 7 por persona y menos para niños. Ahora se llama 'Fusion' y publican 8 por cabeza, pero lo que no le dicen es que agregan un 'cargo por servicio' obligatorio de 2 por cabeza, lo que hace que sea 10 por cabeza. Teniendo en cuenta que se trata de un buffet de autoservicio, e incluso que ahora también se sirven sus propias bebidas, ¡no veo por qué hay un cargo por servicio en absoluto!

Do not recommend this Chinese at all. Food was greasy and lukewarm. Waiters were rude and cold towards us. We were rushed. Overpriced for rubbish service and rubbish food. Could have spent £35 elsewhere and had a much better time.

If you chose to go for dinner at a buffet you don’t normally expect much. It’s mass produced crap left out for a long time in hot plates. Went here for a family meal and left so disappointed. Whole decor is tired looking and cheap. Buffet dinner is very cheap at £8 for an adult that includes 12 year olds over 150cm. Unfortunately the food was really poor. A chicken curry was the only thing that taste half decent. The dumplings had gone hard, satay chicken skewers hard. All probably left out too long. Lots of weird tasting battered items that are not needed. The worst bit was dessert. No effort whatsoever in this area. Consists of shop bought cheesecake, terrible banoffee pie and wait for it... Jaffa cakes, cookies and various other things you can buy from a supermarket. What ever happened to apple fritters? If your in Exeter I would avoid this place unless your struggling and want a cheap meal. I wish I had looked around more and spent more on a better meal.

Been here a few times as my girlfriend and I are from Torquay so visit when in Exeter. Visited yesterday and noticed straight away when going for my usual favourite, the chicken curry, something was off. Cut it open and pink through the inside.! Decided I would go up to the till and not make a fuss, the chef came out shot me down, although I had established I was not complaing (mulitiple times) and kept going on about how you get this problem in KFC! Dragging other businesses into the mix when a; Ive never had a problem in a KFC store and b; the chicken was pink inside and pale/rubbery outside! We finished up quick and left, no refund, not even on one meal! Will be avoiding from now on!

Decided to visit Exeter for the day and after a lovely boat trip and few drinks decided to look for somewhere to eat. Passed this place and decided to give it a go. Wish we hadn’t the food was not good - most of it was over cooked and dry there was little choice and not at at all tasty. The chocolate fountain was nice as were the kids sweets! Will not be back!!

Visited early evening on bank holiday Monday (28th May).

We ordered takeaway and reckoned they served us stuff from the buffet rather than fresh from the kitchen. Two of us were sick after eating and one had diarrhoea.

For a buffet it has very little selection of food to eat and the food you have aint really a good choice. Staff are polite and toilets are well i wont say no more!! Wont come here again!

This is an all you can eat buffet which charges £8 per adult. It is important to remember this when booking as it would be naive to expect too much. We were visiting Devon for the May Bank holiday weekend and, wanting a Chinese meal close to our hotel, we settled on 7Wok.

Went here for the first time on Saturday night for a change from Buffet City and was very impressed - maybe go a bit later next time as they refreshed the dishes at 6pm. Good value and also the drinks were normal price not the usual make lots of money on them to make up for food prices!

I would love to write a review based on the food, alas I cannot as it never arrived.

Wanted to try a different Chinese buffet other than buffet city. Was abit wary of coming here because of the reviews. When we arrived a lovely lady seated us and removed a chair from our table so our buggy could fit there. Was brought our drinks straight away. Went to get a plate lovely and hot the food was delicious and some things I had never tried like crab claw. Ignore the terrible comments. It's lovely and hot in there. They topped up the food more than twice when it got low. Went to pay and a lovely guy served us and made sure we enjoyed our visit. We will return when next in Exeter.

Have visited here several times over the last two years and always enjoyed the food. Went yesterday and at the height of lunchtime, (1pm) only two other people in there. Hardly any choice of food. One watery sweet corn (and nothing else in it) soup. A few almost empty congealed dishes of unidentifiable contents that looked like they had been out since yesterday, and more than half the buffet was made up of fried cheap onion rings, chips, hash browns and potatoes. Not exactly a Chinese buffet. There was some steamed fish, which is normally my favourite, however it was cold and raw when I tried it. I won’t be going back in a hurry.

Came here two days in a row as we enjoyed the food so much. Help yourself to as much as you like. Great choice even duck inc . Had to wait on a couple of dishes but bargain price for what you get.

It is a shame that with little effort, this could be a really nice venue. It is actually disappointingly poor. The food quality is well below par. Most of the dishes were old and dried out. The sauces were mostly congealed and most of the deserts are just biscuits (such as Jaffa cakes, marsh mallows and mince pies) and jars of sweets from a supermarket shelf.

Wok 7 is a typical all you can eat buffet serving rows and rows of just about warm Chinese food and a few other bits and pieces. It’s one of those places you crave when you’re hung over on a Sunday afternoon if you can’t get a roast dinner anywhere! Staff are friendly enough and I think it cost about £10 for the buffet and you add drinks on top of that.

the food is below par to other cheap all you can eat buffets it was not very hot, the dishes were poorly laid out so you could not go round in a nice flow I also found the food quite bland and in some cases inedible for example chicken skewers were very dry and the pancakes for the (soggy duck thought it was meant to be crispy) were hard and breaking apart. I know that you have to take your chances with all you can eat but there were quite a few people in and yet dishes were not refreshed and found a number empty on each visit to the buffet

I slipped on the train track around the bottom of the Christmas tree when I arrived and the lady told me off it wasn't my fault very rude to me it was cold in there the food was disgusting all cold not enough food they were taking ages to bring food out then went to the toilets and they were disgusting and smelt so wasn't interested in eating any thing else in there we had come to spend the night there in a hotel that was fantastic they couldn't do enough for us I would never go back there to that Chinese restaurant

Worst Chinese takeaway we've ever had! Spent £30 to chuck 90% of it away! Was told a 45 minute wait, an hour later it was here and cold! No taste to it. Would not eat their food ever again! We stopped after afew mouthfuls at the fear of becoming ill

If you value your money , your stomach, your sanity and your rectum - i would advise never to eat here. Shocking food, hygiene, staff, service and just about anything else. I left, i did not pay and i would leave a minus score if i could. Just awful and how 7 Wok are able to trade ... well i cant believe it to be honest.

Good choice of food and great value for a cheap lunch! We visit every now and then and always leave full.

I was in this restaurant today around lunch time and was absolutely horrified to have a member of staff come up to me and apologise for the noise and disturbance a paying customer was making. This young gentleman had sever learning difficulties and clearly could not help the “disturbance” he was causing! The lady (if you could call her that!) was making it very clear to me and others who were also eating that this young gentleman was not welcome. If anybody should be apologising for anything, it should be her for her rude, vile and disgusting behaviour! One of the two of this young gentleman’s carer’s went up to pay for his food (which if I was her, I would have left without even paying!!) and I very clearly heard the said member of staff imply that this young gentleman wasn’t welcome to come to this restaurant again. I for one certainly will not be visiting this place again and I shall make sure all of my friends and family are aware of the awful treatment and discrimination he received today.

Called in for evening meal as away on business for a couple of days by myself and just wanted something simple and informal so though a buffet ticked the box. Not good though. With it being a cheaper offering it is frequented by large groups of hungry students, whom Descended on the buffet like a plague of locusts!!! This led to everything running out and being devoured again as soon as it was replenished (which was not frequent enough). Therefore not much to choose from and what there was, was poor (the pancakes for the (non existent) crispy duck were rock hard!)The place was not hygienic either as others have said and rather scruffy. Poorly run so best avoided!!

Visited here as staying down in ExeterNot massive selection of dishes and some dishes took a while to be refilled Food was ok but nothing to rave about Staff not the most friendliest I have met one member of staff seemed more interested in sitting down and eating and then when a customer came in he did get up and seat them when he noticed them

Visited as visiting exeter and met with family so wanted somewhere we could all have something we would enjoy to eat. Very limited selection and when we visited it was overall busy and yet half the dishes were empty. Tried a few dishes and I can't say I could rave about the food left feeling rather disappointed

I came here last year on my own and was shocked by the negative comments... it was great! Then I cam back last week and brought a friend. The place seemed abut more rundown and not as nice but the food was still great! And an amazing price! Some dishes were finished and not replenished hence the 4 stars.

If you've been to a Chinese Buffet and been disappointed then you haven't been to 7Wok. The food is lovely and hot with lots of choice. All Staff are friendly and wellcoming. Thoroughly recommend had a great meal and bottle of wine.

Asian food, buffet style eat as much as you can. Its pretty good for what it is. good range of foods, rather gharish decor and pretty basic, but that hardly matters, service is very good and the serving dishes are replenished regularly. It is just what it says it is!

We love it always fresh food being brought out and hot. Good value for money. My fav food on there is the chicken satay

The title sums it up.We just needed a quick bite to eat as we had tickets to a gig.A buffet seemed ideal. In, eat and out, no hanging about.Well, just about the worst selection I think I've ever seen in a buffet, and most of it empty.What I had was ok, but that's it, but having visited the gents at the end of the meal and seeing what it was like behind the scenes. Well I can only hope the kitchen is slightly better.I paid, we left. My wife said, "Can you never take me there again"I won't.It was £8 each. Not a huge amount but KFC would have been better!

A friendly, clean, simple Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet! Food constantly replenished, busy but spacious, great food quality! Hard to fault.

This restaurant is Disgusting and should be reported health standards agency. We found the food was stone cold and very little variety of Chinese food. When this was reported to the manager all he said was it must be the compressors faulty again. The prices have gone up and the custom has gone down which is not at all surprising considering the rubbish they were expecting people to eat. In our opinion this has got to be the worst restaurant in Devon....7WOK

This place is the worst place I have EVER eaten at! We went for an all you can eat buffet as our last meal of term and all the dishes had been out so long that the sauce had dried on top! We decided to give it a try anyway and so ate the food. It also came with all you can eat dessert which consisted of a chocolate fountain. However, this was not chocolate!!!! It was the texture of water - Brown water! Mixed with some oil I think as the liquid did not sink into the provided waffles, instead rolled off . All three of us ended up having diarrhoea for seven days and had to go to see the GP to get it stop. I have reported it to the health standards in Exeter but if you were considering going here, DON'T!!!!

This is the worst Chinese I have ever had and that's being to generous- The fact this place is allowed to trade is mind bending- none of the starters/ sides were edible the curry was runny with no flavour- Avoid

Awful meal. Every main meal was based with the same oyster based sauce. Only nice thing was the seaweed.

For £7 your not going to be getting the best quality meal in the world however was nice and nicer than buffet city! Staff were distant and not that hospitable but we had a nice time :)

The crispy duck was not crispy. The hoi sin sauce tasted sour and maybe gone off. The pork Hong Kong style was not even chopped up and tasted awful. The shredded beef was too sweet and had not vegetables. Really awful food.

Ordered from here for home delivery...took over an hour to arrive after being told 20minute delivery and it was cold and the order was wrong! Called to report error and all they could say was "so what?"Terrible customer service will not be using again

I visited on Saturday with some friends for a Stag Party after visiting Exeter for the day to see the Rugby. Honestly, the food was poor. It was cheap and reasonable, and with a Chinese buffet you do expect food to not be as good as takeaway or a menu based meal but this buffet is worth missing. Wet, sad looking and kept on the heat. Have had much better.

Chow mien was sitting in a pool of oil, was quite cold and the stir fried vegetables were sitting in some sludge with raw pieces of garlic.

Before you even sit down even if you're as hungry as we where , maybe it would be worth asking them about their food hygiene rating... One star. And you can see why. I would say go in and look at what your paying for before you grab a plate. Avoid at all cost. As soon as we got home we made ourselves vomit. Better than letting the poison set in I guess!

Been here recently for 2 birthday gatherings. Each time, are seating requests were listened too and granted. Food is typical chinese food, large selection - some deep fried, some in sauces, delicious rice options etc Nice sweet selection, chocolate fountain a big hit with the children. Drinks reasonable. Of course, price an abolute bargain. Happy to revist :)

went for a meal, the hot food was warm/cold, so we complained to the waiters, he checked the heat and turnt up the server admitting it was cold. they replaced some of the cold food but the rest of it they kept stirring and kept serving.asked to speak to the manager, they would not come down so the supervisor came down. offered me 25% discount even though the waitress admitted we complained of the cold food. told them trading standards would be informed and left.

Was a suggested place by friends, so thought we would give it a try. Should of realised that it wasn't gonna be very good, walking into a restaurant. Greeted by a waiter who hardly said a word, and wasn't very welcoming. Once our drinks where ordered, we went to pick what to eat. We sat down to enjoy our food.. sadly it was cold, dried out, and disgusting! Such a disappointment! Avoid at all costs. And save your money!

We were greeted upon arrival by a miserable looking waiter who obviously did not want to be working at the restaurant. Food was really poor quality, it wasn't hot and some of it (particularly the hot and sour soup) tasted awful. Will not be coming back.

We had an all you can eat buffet if which there was a really good selection and plenty of food beng put out freshly. However, the large open dustbin that the waiter was putting left overs in, rather put me off and made me wonder where else the hygiene may be failing? Food was ok but nothing to write home about but over all good value.

Gave it a try but not again. Most items on buffet were cold. Duck was fatty & cold. Satay chicken was burnt & tough, desert rolls were still frozen? Mini donuts tasted stale! Overall not a good experience & definitely not worth the money or return visit. Wish we had gone elsewhere.

I liked the light open design of this restaurant. The hot food was well laid out. Our party of 6 plus a baby enjoyed ourselves. The one big negative for this restaurant was the cold plates which rapidly made the food less enjoyable. All rather daft really as they had a perfectly good electric plate warmer which was so over filled that customershad to take cold plates from a pile a foot or more beyond the source of heat. I asked for the manager, who never arrived, but pointed out to the remaining staff the simple solution. Lets hope they take notice.

Paying only £7.00 for as much as you can eat, you cant go wrong. But one thing is for sure, they provide better quality food than many usual buffets where you can feel the stale taste of the food. Chose what you like. if you try to indulge over everything, you are likely to have bad experience as not all will suit your taste.

We had a team Xmas meal here and 1 of us slipped on some food on the floor and not 1 member of staff came to help her up.

We visited here few times before when visiting family down south, we had a lovely buffet, food was good, some staff were friendly and helpful there was 11 of us, they accommodated us well, a few other staff could be a bit more happier & there were times where it felt like they were waiting for us to leave, but that didn't let it ruin our evening, can't go wrong with the value, will be back again!

Very cheap restaurant. The menu is £7 plus drinks. For that price you can't complaint about the food which in my opinion was very poor. They've got the filthiest bathrooms I've ever been. And the customer service is far away from good. There was a lot of staff working but unhelpful and not polite at all. One of the waiters was stirring the same dish for about 20 min. They really make us feel unwelcomed. Not coming back

Not a good experience. Not much food to choose from at all and the hot food that was available was cold or luke warm at best. Toilet facilities were very grubby and looked like they needed a good clean. My children all said they thought the staff were very rude to. Not recommended at all. Our first time here and we won't be back.

After reading all the comments I had low expectations. I expected an older smaller places with a limited amount of dishes. I just wanted a cheap fill of Chinese as I live abroad and travel on a budget. The restaurant is large modern and bright and there's an amazing selection of food. If something is dry... then add some of the sauces! It's not hard! Large groups and families were there so popular dishes may finish. Buffet and pint of coke was 9.50. Can't knock that. One or two staff members need a happy pill... others were very nice.

This has to be one of my favourite Chinese Buffets in Devon.Its nothing special and the loo's could really so with a facelift but I love the food, for 2 of us with a beer and a pint of lemonade it came to under £20, for an all you can eat I don't think you can go wrong!Whenever we are in Exeter and fancy Chinese this is always our place to go!

Visited here with my brother early one evening and I found this restaurant to be like any other cheap,Asian,self service place.Important to pick out the fresher looking dishes and personally I found the sweet with custard to be very tasty. I returned and took a second helping.Waitress was friendly and really for £7 a head one cannot really complain.

We used to come here for quick cheap food before the cinema or if we end up working later than expected with not time to cook dinner, but after the last visit we won't bother, as it's no longer value for money.They have replaced things like chilli squid and crispy seaweed (basically the two things we went there for) with items like plain 'chipolata' sausages, & I never actually got any chicken satay as there was a large group of people who couldn't eat pork who cleared the tray as soon as it came out both times, however the staff should have allowed for this and put more chicken out instead of just refilling the beansprouts and chips over and over when they hadn't even run out.Tables were sticky, dessert area was messy and filthy, the toilets were dirty with a sanitary bin left in the doorway for no apparent reason, and when I went to pay and asked about the lack of dishes with many trays being left empty for the entire duration we were there the waitress said she was too busy to talk to me about a complaint - so I asked for something to write down my comments to pass on to the manager - she slammed down a torn grubby receipt and a biro and walked off... we had to call her back to pay our bill as she'd forgotten to take our money!It's gone from being a place where you could almost get good quality chinese food at a good value to just being another poor quality dump full of cheap fatty food. Such a shame.

Ate there today after a visit to the cinema. Ate here before. But finding a big blue bottle fly staring up at you was certainly not what was expected. We complained and was not going to charge for that meal but would charge us for the other two meals. Complaining again they wanted to charge us for the drinks. We walked out disgusted that they wanted to charge us for something. Won't go there again and so disappointed as was a favourite place of ours before this

We often go to 7Wok when in town as a family because it's good value £7 including half of soda, small children eat free. Foods always hot with a good choice often with squid or prawn option. Service isn't great but the Eton mess makes up for it

I'm a regular to 7wok, it's only a 5 min walk from Exeter high street so very convenient. The food is tasty and plentiful, people moan about the quality but i think as much as you can eat for £7 (with a free soft drink at lunchtime) is a rare bargain. Nothing to stop you picking out the bits you like when your serving yourself!

A little out the way from the town but a great find. Added to my favourites. Two all in lunches and 2 pepsi's £19 left a tip.

Rarely passes a month without me taking the family to 7Wok. The kids love it: they can stuff their plates with whatever combination of food they wish and then then can have as many deserts as they can, which is usually one (or two) too many. They particularly love the chocolate fountain for dipping marshmallows and waffles. Definitely not a sophisticated place, but the staff is attentive and helpful, the choice is huge, some of the dishes are really good and is very cheap.

Parking is all local to the restaurant, however you'll have to pay on a meter. We were greeted with a smile and led to our table. Service was prompt and simple. Drinks arrived super-fast with a smile. The food was jaw dropping good! If you're looking to visit the area and eat somewhere convenient and well-priced, this is the place for you. There were over 18 main dish accompaniments to choose from, so a fantastic choice. All the old favourites were there such as prawn toast too... yummy!There is a desert area as well as the main area with fruit and or cheese cake for example. Drinks are well priced, a pint of lemonade is a realistic £2.50The bill was a simple affair as well paying by card contactless. I'll definitely be going back and recommending this place to anyone who's visiting the area. Opening times are from 11:30am through to 10:30pm 7 days a week.

My husband and I have been here many times, the last was for our anniversary. We have never had a problem, the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is hot and fresh and a good selection. Drinks are a reasonable price and if you can fit in pudding there are a few options.Will certainly be going back!

Ordered chow mein and chicken curry with rice for me and my partner,When arrived completely wrong order Rang up to see if they would send out what we had ordered as spend over £20 including delivery there attitude stank simple said "kitchen closed"and hung up.Shocking customer service will never be ordering from here again.

No customer service whatsoever, drinks took 25minutes and the food was totally rank would sooner spend 7 quid at kfc

Food was okay. Menu was varied and staff were helpful. Parking was right outside the place which was okay. Selection of desert fell short and selection was minimal. Well priced for adults and kids

Food is excellent, delivery arrived earlier than requested and missing some items, took 40 mins for the replacements and food had to be reheated

I was really disappointed with this place. I agree with some of the other reviews- the food was inedible in most cases, which is just not acceptable , you can get a decent meal in most pubs for this price. The chicken in particular was so dry and tough that it was difficult to get your knife into. The service was not great either- staff did not look like they wanted to be there. One to avoid I think.
