Great food, good people to deal with.

Disgusting disgusting service. Store manager TARIQ of Basildon papa John’s store refused to send me another pizza after I ordered VEGAN cheese on my pizza because of my allergy and they’ve sent me regular cheese now I’m sitting here with a pizza I can’t eat and no money for it. He also hung up the phone and was very rude and disgusting to me.

Best pizza in the UK without a doubt, the deals are fantastic and the flavour is just a class above all the others. The service is fantastic and I have never been let down by them in 4 years of ordering from them, they have also never got my order wrong either so bravo. I went to collect a pizza last week instead of ordering as it was very late and they were near closing, despite it being so close to closing the guys there took the order with a smile and made me like always a great quality pizza which really helped me after a very bad and long day. Thank you to the staff at Papa John's Basildon.

I ordered my pizza and was waiting over an hour and no show. They took the money from my bank and I called up 3 times with no answer. Shame because I do love papa johns pizza but I just don’t think I can order from here again

They can’t use a doorbell! App wasn’t working after trying numerous times we kept experiencing the same error, so we had to phone the order through. They honoured the app price which is fair enough. The delivery took a long time compared to other pizza delivery companies. They refused to use the doorbell so we had no idea they attempted to deliver and lied outright saying the doorbell was broken and didn’t work! Of course we demonstrated how to use the doorbell and to prove it was indeed working. The pizza turned up late and cold so inedible. We asked the driver to call through and let us know if they were sending a hot order but the driver left without any communication. We then had to call through ourselves and the operative was so rude and unhelpful so we ordered from Domino’s! Unbelievable, such a poor experience. Lies and can’t even deliver a hot pizza!

I ordered a pizza and waited an hour. I can understand it because it was Friday, but I can't understand why the pizza was cold and rubbery. It used to be a very good pizza, I guess they don't care about the customer anymore. I won't order from there again

Ordered online took the money over an hour later had to call to find out the food isn't coming. No reason no instant refund no apolog. Awful service and attitude Can't zero score unfortunately

Won't be back kitchen was filthy , driver cut my pizza wearing no uniform and then I see the same guy at the back taking his delivery out in the car a red Citroen c1 . Pizza was poorly made also photos will be added .

The people that run this branch of Papa John are really great to deal with. They are helpful when things go wrong with the Just Eat app and voluntarily go the extra mile. And, of course, their food is always really well prepared. I remain their loyal customer. 🙂

We order for delivery and the pizza did not arrived. Even trying to phone the store no one answer. Confirmation order and money taken as well. When phone the store and spoke to staff asking for refund. Staff very rude and said Go on and complained. Wasted money for food that did not even arrived.

Never recieved my order and it was marked delieved. And when I called they wasn't even appoligetic so unprofessional.

I pre ordered two pizzas. It is late. You had over 4 hours notice and still couldn’t deliver on time! Now you don’t answer the phone! Shocking service Edit: after a phonecall, apology and free desert I have given them three stars not one.

Staff were quite rude on the phone when I queried my order and when the order did turn up the courier claimed he couldn't see the doorbell! And instead tapped on the porch door which we hardly heard!

Wouldn't even give a star if I could they don't even bother to answer there phones have been trying for half hour waste of time

They didn't give me the sauce I ordered. Then they didn't believe me that I didn't have it and had to show it on my phone that I ordered it and that there wasn't one in the boxes. Eventually got it, reluctantly.

Food was damaged and sauce was everywhere and pizza was flopped everywhere

Forgot juice. Said sending driver. Driver came very late when food finished. Said too many deliveries but no apology and left at the door when I raised a complaint. No words. Also when I call they don't pick up the phone and no acknowledgement. Will never order here again.

This was ordered at 720 it said it would take between 25-40 minutes. It arrived at 8:50 I have proof of this as I was on the phone to the restaurant at the time. To top it off they forgot to deliver our dessert. Would definitely not buy again.

Wasn't as warm as I would like

I ordered from the Basildon branch and paid a delivery fee since I live in Stanford Le Hope. After 1 hour 15 mins, I called to check on my order and was told it had been 'transfered' to a new Stanford Le Hope branch. I was asked why I had been charged for delivery in that case, but didn't get an answer. I had to call twice more to chase the order. The website updated in the meantime to say it had been delivered when it hadn't. When it finally arrived nearly 2 hours later, some items were missing. I obviously won't be ordering again.

I placed my order I paid for my order the pappa John's site went down. Pappa John's took the money out of my account and no pizza. I phoned them up. Someone answered with broken English they haven't got my order they can't help me. Pappa John's has stolen money out of my account. I will not be using them again. Theifs. I want my money back. I work hard for that. Tonight was a treat for me and my son. Now we have no dinner and I've been robbed of my money from pappa John's. Do not use these crooks.

First time ordered, very nice, well cooked, hot and on time. Very nice delivery man, polite and patient.

Every time when I order from this Papa John’s. I have issues. Today I paid extra for special garlic dips as my family love them, but they replace it with different garlic sauce without asking. When we call to complain. They dismiss the complaint that isn’t there issue as they didn’t receive the sauce. The main problem is the different sauce have ingredients, which one member of my family is allergic and could cause sever issues to his health.

Ordered a 'All the meat' pizza last night when it arrived it was dripping with grease. Ate 2 slices and couldn't get off the toilet all night partner tried a slice this morning and now he is in the same state.

I always get thin crust and usually get it but this time it was not thin crust :(

Delivery driver took the pizza to wrong address, and left it on their doorstep, the residents found it and kindly brought it round to me, but it was stone cold by then. Phoned papa johns and the guy didn't believe me! Asked for a refund and for them to collect the cold pizzas, they didn't get the pizzas, and still waiting for refund, been 5 days now.

Order was accepted and never made or delivered. Just eat have offered a coupon however this is not what I want. I do not use just eat often and would prefer a refund.

The pizzas were nice but not worth the nearly £15 per pizza, the potato tots were only a handful for £5.50 and the garlic sauce was absolutely foul it was just a runny butter tasting sauce. I cannot see how Papa John’s can charge that much for a pizza that is not that great! Won’t be ordering again from papa John’s.

Had to go and get said they tried to deliver but was outside hotel all the time shop put phone down on me twice so ha to drive over and sort not happy at all

Driver called several times didn't know where I was and would not listen to direction given pizza was cold as it was 30mins late called restaurant all I got was sorry and I had to argue to get a fresh and hot 1

Every time i order from basildon papa johns the pizzas always come hot and great tasting. They came out to me twice in one night coz i forgot to order 1 pizza and had no problems still good customer service and great pizzas.

Cant fault PJ'S always on time great food

Awaiting more than 1.50 minutes for the pizza and it arrived cold. After being told 3 times it was just around the corner, they lied. The driver said he was given the wrong address by the shop, and that is the real reason for the lateness.

Papa Johns is usually really good however this time I was a little disappointed with the food. The food was only lukewarm, despite being delivered early, and I ordered garlic cheese sticks thinking they would be some sort of mozzarella stick type food, but it was a garlic bread pizza wheel sliced, I feel the title is a little misleading but that could just be me. Both the pizza and the garlic bread wheel were also not cut properly. Papa Johns is usually really good and for the price I expected better :(

Ordered home delivery twice from this place . Not disappointed, pizza was very tasty, delivery on time and reasonable prices.

They always have offers, order on line and collect in store, to avoid the lengthy wait, the food was average.

Pizza tasted like papa John had rubbed his nutsack on my stuffed crust. So naturally I ate all of it. Thanks papa.

Good Papa John's. We ordered a huge lunchtime work order of 20 large pizzas with sides and drinks. Delivered fast and each pizza was made to a good standard.

I may as well have thrown my money down the drain. First time trying Papa John. Last time I'll ever order from this store. Dreadful quality of produce. Spent £27 on 2 large pizza. Double pepperoni and extra green chilli. Could notice any difference in heat. Why bother? Wife had half and half. The BBQ chicken half the dog ended up having. I'm sure we'll regret that move. The chicken tasted off. Like heated 3 times over off? BBQ sauce was diluted with vinegar. Truly poor. I called owner to give feedback. I didn't want a refund. I just wanted to feedback how bad the pizza were and that we'd not buy again. Please avoid this hole. Nasty nasty stuff.

Oh wow... I was expecting so much from this. Having paid £27 for 2 large pizzas never have I ever been so disappointed in my first (and last) try out of Papa John's Pizza. A real waste of money. Double pepperoni was dull. Added green chilli for heat. It gave none. Wife had half and half of which only half was edible. Dog had the BBQ chicken half and no doubt I'm sure we'll regret that tomorrow. Chicken tasted off like reheated for 3rd time. Overall... Nasty experiance. Avoid.

Absolutely disgraceful service. The man on the phone was incredibly rude and not helpful in any way shape or form. Got our order wrong and refused to help or change it, also talked over me and refused to listen to what I had to say. They have no respect towards their customers. I will never order from here again and would recommend everyone else not to as well.

Only go for the lunchtime specials otherwise it will cost you a fortune don't bother with the garlic dips it's just margarine

One of the most uninterested, order by phone or customer service. The guy attend the call is either half asleep or not interested in sale at all. I like Papa Jones. They cannot get an order right as well. Deplorable.
